In this study domestic thinning and small diameter woods of Giant dogwood (Cornus controversa Hemsl) was used. To increase the utilizability of wood, the utilizability was proposed after manufacturing laminated wood by pressing and heating. The physical and mechanical characteristics of Laminated wood were investigated and the color change was measured, using a Chromaticity coordinates, after being pressed at 10% (45 mm), 20% (40 mm), 30% (35 mm) for 5 minutes, using Stopper, and then heated at $180^{\circ}C$ for 6, 12, 24 and 48 hours. The results were as follows. Wood density, compressive strength, MOR, MOE are increased with increasing pressing rate but decreased as heating time is increased after pressing. However, Color change is clear, dimensional stability is improved after pressing and heating.

All chairs are uncomfortable in the long run and some chairs become uncomfortable more rapidly than others. In a particular chair, some people feel more uncomfortable than others. Comfort will depend upon the interaction of chair, user, and task characteristics. In this study, we intended to design a comfortable office chair by investigating anthropometric and biomechanical aspects for Koreans. We determine the design dimensions by analysis the anthropometric data. With these body parameters, we determined the design dimensions such as seat height, seat depth, seat width, seat backrest width, etc. This research, hopefully contributes to the development of ergonomic chair and improvement of the chair design technologies.

Opening 21th Century, all the Countries of the world has been focusing on build up the foundation of cultural infrastructure in a various way, since the awareness of importance for cultural design products has been turnover. However, our regional related industries very difficulty for the moment for them to apply new, designing technique or to settle technical bottlenecks themselves. Accordingly, in order to resolve such a structural point at issue, this study has carried the newly designed and developed, wooden, cultural craft items that were produced by utilizing the ultramodern digital technology installed at TIDIC, it would contribute to achieve some global cultural products.

A chair is a necessary tool in modern life and people spend a lot of time on it. But there Ere so many chairs which the human body size Is not considered that many users usually feel fatigue. The purpose of this study is to analyze the fundamental items human factors engineering which have to be applied to chairs and then to make user choose chairs, considering them as an index. The extent of this study is limited to chairs for office work used for sitting for a long time to work. We also profoundly analyze functional matters of chairs, user's posture and so on. We'll present all suitable factors and the assumed tentative plan by inferring items', the function chairs have coincides with the human body.

The following research focused on developing a new concept of lighting design with design factors which considered combining common natural objects with feelings. The purpose of this research is to write a thesis that deals with the whole process of developing a design for 'FEELighting' that is applicable to daily life through developing a form of lighting, which prioritizes feelings rather than materials, forms, or functions, and enhance the quality of people's lives. In particular, the process has been materialized by defining a new concept of 'FEELighting' (Feeling + Lighting), researching and analyzing the original and unfamiliar correlation between feeling and lighting, and choosing the embedded acrylics lighting items that can undergo small quantity batch production. As a result, prototypes of various forms of lightings that could be applied to daily lives -ceiling lights, wall light lamps, and table lamps-, which were made by combining numerous common natural objects and surpassed simple function and created to surpass simple lighting function, were presented through every process of design development.

Interior designer Sugimoto Takashi uses salvaged material and natural thing for aesthetical purpose. These material performs not just as fun stuff but as design tool in order to set up cultural meaning which modern society always lacks for. The method of communicating the meaning is the multi-layered trace on them. There are three types of trace. They are harsh texture of surface, untrimmed outline, and gathering & arrangement. Through these formation methods of trace, Sugimoto can suggest various curtural meanings such as vanishing value of old-fashioned lifestyle, primitive energy of nature, and sincere touch of somebody. As a result, the trace in Sugimoto's design is an endeavor to exist tradition(the long ago) and nature(the far away) in here-and-now interior space.

This paper reviews a new kitchen space by analyzing the user life style and their house environment where ubiquitous system is considered. The kitchen space where ubiquitous system is applied was differ in their house atmosphere and the role of kitchen area. Those changes under ubiquitous system has the kitchen becomes the central space of the house and the furnishings including home appliances and furnitures. The purpose of this study was verified the effect of analyzed emotional factors and compare with competed design proposals of G and D public exhibition to plan the public exhibition applied emotional marketing which strengthen the effect with touching the emotion. The results are first, public consumer preferred to experience 5 senses and gives a positive effect, second, preference according to factor of scene gives differences by ages, but various ages preferred to experience the factor of scene, third the result of analyze the relation between preference of scene and 3 groups of 5 senses, which is high, middle, and low preferred had significant relation, and fourth, public consumer preferred to several levels of exhibition than only one level, the space preferred was 'experiencing' space.

In recent years, young customers whose priority are on rationality and practicality of products and set a high value on space usage and storage efficiency have shown larger interest in knocked down furniture, thus its purchase has been on the rise. A baby bed design utilizing knocked down system suggested in this article, allows simple assembly and disassembly, easy transportation, easy movement, and also possible to recycle. Using laminated wood made of Douglas fir, a natural material, a baby bed is designed as knocked down structure. Its prototype is made to suggest easy assembly and disassembly design, which does not require any hardware. If efforts are put on the research of furniture design and its product development, focusing on the applicable usage and strength of knocked down furniture, it can become one of the solutions to the development of currently stagnant domestic furniture industry.
