Convergent Momentum Strategy in the Korean Stock Market (한국 주식시장에서의 융합적 모멘텀 투자전략)

  • This study attempts to empirically investigate if relative momentum strategy is effective in the Korean stock market. The sample of the study is comprised of companies which are traded in both Kospi and Kosdaq stock markets in Korea for the period between 2001~2014. The study observes that the momentum strategy buying past winner stocks and selling past loser stocks is negatively correlated with the value strategy buying value stocks with high book to market ratio and selling glamour stocks with low book to market ratio. And each strategy is alternatively effective from period to period. The study demonstrates that the momentum strategy is effective when both strategies which are negatively correlated are treated as one system by estimating Fama and French's[1] 3 factor regression model.

A Study on Consideration of the Concept and the Directions in Further Research of Meridian Points(經穴) Based on Symbolic Mathematical Study(象數學) (경혈(經穴)의 의의(意義) 및 연구 방향에 관한 상수학적(象數學的) 고찰)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to consider the concept of Meridian Points(經穴) and to establish the directions in further research. Methods: First, based on the latest results from the researches of Meridian and Collateral(經絡), it was to infer the original concept of Meridian Points(經穴). Second, the meaning of Meridian Points(經穴) has been investigated and its directions in further research was studied founded upon Symbolic Mathematical Study(象數學). Results & Conclusions : Firstly, Meridian Points(經穴) are considered to be the source of information that contains 365 numbers of human physiological information which includes physiological information of Viscera and Bowels(藏府) and Meridian and Collateral(經絡). Secondly, advanced researches are required further to clarify the meaning of Meridian Points(經穴) as Symbolic Mathematical Study(象數學) has established the systems of Meridian Points(經穴). In addition, the efficacy of each Meridian Points(經穴) needs to be revised through literature studies. Clinical studies are essential to practically verify the results from the former theoretical research. Thirdly, the contention to oppose the presence of Meridian and Collateral(經絡) and Meridian Points(經穴) was acknowledged to be incorrect. Lastly, for broadening the theoretical systems of Korean Medicine(韓醫學) with integration of Western scientific knowledge, a paradigm shift is necessary to revise the concepts of Viscera and Bowls(藏府), Meridian and Collateral (經絡) and Meridian Points(經穴) in Korean Medicine(韓醫學). In order to accomplish the shift, the ambiguity in theories of Korean Medicine(韓醫學) should be clarified through the study of Symbolic Mathematical Study(象數學).

Evaluation on Cyclic Flexural Behavior of HSRC (Hybrid H-steel-reinforced Concrete) Beams Connected with Steel Columns (강재 기둥과 하이브리드 강재 보-RC 보 접합부의 반복 휨 거동 평가)

  • The objective of the present study is to evaluate the cyclic flexural behavior of a hybrid H-steel-reinforced concrete (HSRC) beam at the connection with a H-steel column. The test parameter investigated was the configuration of dowel bars at the joint region of the HSRC beam. The HSRC beam was designed to have plastic hinge at the end of the H-steel beam rather than the RC beam section near the joint. All specimens showed a considerable ductile behavior without a sudden drop of th applied load, resulting in the displacement ductility ratio exceeding 4.6, although an unexpected premature welding failure occurred at the flanges of H-steel beams connecting to H-steel column. The crack propagation in the RC beam region, flexural strength, and ductility of HSRC beam system were insignificantly affected by the configuration of dowel bars. The flexural strength of HSRC beam system governed by the yielding of H-steel beam could be conservatively evaluated from the assumption of a perfect plasticity state along the section.

Comparison of Form Factors of Liver in ZangFu Diagrams (臟腑圖) before Northern Song Ages and Ones Originated from MingTangZangFuTu (明堂臟腑圖) (북송(北宋) 이전 장부도(臟腑圖)와 명당장부도(明堂臟腑圖)에서 기원한 장부도(臟腑圖)에 나타난 간장(肝臟)의 형태요소의 비교)

  • Objectives : The goal of this paper is to verify the hypothesis that the diagrams of liver from MingTangZangFuTu (明堂臟腑圖) were derived from ZangFu diagrams (臟腑圖) before northern Song Ages. Methods : The difference of form of liver was analyzed by means of 4 factors, e.g. shape, number, veins and a petiole of leafs, in diagrams from YanLuoZiNeiJingTu [煙蘿子內境圖], OuXiFanWuZangTu [歐希範五臟圖], CunZhenTu [存眞圖], MingTangZangFuTu and ones of liver from Taoism and MingTangZangFuTu. Results : Diagrams of whole body and liver from MingTangZangFuTu were first found in ZhenJiuJuYing (鍼灸聚英). Among them, lobed shape was first found in YanLuoZiNeiJingTu (in Wudai [五代]), a petiole in OuXiFanWuZangTu (northern Song Ages) and 7 leafs in WuZangLiuFuTu (五臟六腑圖. from Tang (唐) Ages to early northern Song Ages. unknown author.), one of references of UiBangNyuChwi (醫方類聚) (1455). However, veins of leafs were drawn in no diagrams. Conclusions : In diagrams of liver from MingTangZangFuTu, shape and a petiole of leafs were based on diagrams of ZangFu before northern Song Ages, but 7 leafs came from WuZangLiuFuTu. However, veins of leafs were not derived from any diagrams in same period.
