Satellite images without value-added processing may be nothing but artistic painting. That is in order to benefit from satellite images acquired from money-drinking satellites, we should utilize the paramount information in scientific world and practical lift that can be extracted from image. Hence, the Satellite Technology Research Center has developed a integrated software called "Valadd-Pro". In this paper, the main components of the Valadd-Pro are briefly introduced, its value-added product are compared with PCI$^{\circledR}$ commercial software. Based on the results, the performance of the Valadd-Pro is superior to that of PCI$^{\circledR}$ on 6000$\times$6000 SPOT panchromatic images.
The R-amidase production by a newly isolated strain of Delftia tsuruhatensis ZJB-05174 was optimized in this paper. Effects of factors such as carbon sources, nitrogen sources, and inducers on amidase production were investigated. The medium composition was optimized using central composite designs and response surface analysis. The optimal medium components for enhanced amidase production were found to be as follows: glucose, 8.23 g/l; yeast extract, 11.59 g/l; 2,2-(R,S)-dimethylcyclopropane carboxamide, 1.76 g/l; NaCl, 1 g/l; ${KH_2}{PO_4}$ 1 g/l; and ${K_2}{HPO_4}$ 1 g/l. A maximum enzyme production of 528.21 U/l was obtained under the optimized conditions, which was 4.7 times higher than that obtained under initial conditions.
Low-temperature co-fired ceramics (LTCC) have turned out to be very promising technology in accordance with the rapid developments in semiconductor technology. The demands for compact electrical assemblies, smaller power loss as well as high signal density can be fulfilled by LTCC. And for the multi-layered ceramic devices with embedded passive components such as high dielectric constant decoupling capacitor, LTCC materials require the several conditions to avoid delamination and internal cracks. For the present study, diopside-based glass is chosen as the LTCC substrate material in view of its high coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE). From the experimental resultsn the influence of each element on the CTE change can be revealed.
The relative dissociation constants of 4-substituted bicyclo[2,2,2]octane-1-carboxylic acids, 4-substituted quinuclidines, and 3-and 4-substituted pyridines were collected from a number of sources. In order to understand the actual substituent effects with a combination of inductive effect (σI) and resonance effect (σR) components. The DSP correlation has been employed statistically for each of the p-and m-series. The inductive effect from the m-position was 1.2 times more effective than that from the p-position and the requirement of σR+ for the best-fit led to the conclusion that pyridine system belongs to the σ+-class reactivity. Also compared with results from Yukawa-Tsuno's LArSR treatment and relevant treatment.

A method of processing signals of unaligned geomagnetic sensors placed on the seabed is presented. The offset drifts of the fluxgate sensors are processed by polynomial fitting and the orientations of the sensor axes are found by minimizing the noise power using wavelet analysis. The noise power was reduced by 9.1 dB by processing the components of magnetic field separately using subtraction filter, polynomial fitting and wavelet analysis.
The performance of a refrigerant mixture of propane(R290)/isobutane(R600a) as a substitute for CFC12 was investigated in a domestic refrigerator with single evaporator. A thermodynamic cycle simulation indicated an increase in COP of a 1.7 to 2.4% with R-290/600a in the composition range of 0.2 to 0.6 mass fraction of R290 compared to CFC12. For the tests, two units($299{\ell}$, $465{\ell}$) were used. All refrigeration components remained the same throughout the tests, except that the length of capillary tube and amount of charge were changed for the mixture. The refrigerators were fully instrumented with more than 20 thermocouples, 2 pressure transducers, and watt/watt-hour meter for each refrigerator. 'Energy consumption test' and 'no load pulldown test' were performed under the same condition. The experimental results obtained with the same compressor indicated that R-290/600a mixture at 0.6 mass fraction of R290 showed a 3 to 5% increase in energy efficiency and a faster cooling speed compared to CFC12. The R-290/600a mixture showed a shorter compressor on-time and a lower compressor dome temperature than CFC12. In conclusion, the proposed hydrocarbon mixture seems to be an appropriate candidate to replace CFC12 without causing more environmental problems.
Naturally occurring substances are important biomedical resources with low toxicity and ethnopharmacology-based efficacy. Four out of 45 extracts (Celastrus orbiculatus, Cercis chinensis, Stephanadra incisa, and Weigela subsessilis) prepared from the bark of Korea Forest plants exhibited more than 50% of inhibition on $TNF-{\alpha}$ production in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-activated RAW264.7 cells at $100\;{\mu}g/m{\ell}$. In particular, potential inhibitory components of 4 extracts showed more than 50% inhibition seemed to be concentrated in methylene chloride (MC) fraction from C. orbiculatus, in ethyl acetate (EtOAc) fraction from C. chinensis and in hexane (Hx) fraction from S. incisa, whereas inhibitory activities of W. subssilis were broadly seen in non-polar solvent fractions such as Hx, MC and EtOAc. Therefore, our results suggest that extracts from C. orbiculatus, C. chinensis, S. incisa and W. subsessilis may be developed as a therapeutic remedy against $TNF-{\alpha}-mediated$ diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis or further fractionated to isolate active components having $antiTNF-{\alpha}$ inhibitory activity.
This study was attempted to develop the eletronic-hydraulic hitch system for controlling the attitude of tractor implements and to investigate control performance of the system through experiments. Main components of the system developed in this study were reference inputs panel, inclination angle detecter, electronic controller consisted of IBM-AT PC and interfaces, electro-hydraulic directional valves and other hydraulic components and three-point hitch linkage. Experiments were carried out to investigate the response of the system to the step and sine inputs. The effects of hydraulic flow rate and dead band on control performance were analized. Attitude of the implement was controlled within 2.4-5.1 degrees to the setting attitude when the hydraulic flow rate was in the range of $0.25-1.5{\ell}/min$. And implement was controlled without rapid amplitude attenuation and phase angle change in the frequency range of 0.02-0.2Hz when the hydraulic flow rate was in the range of $0.25-1.5{\ell}/min$. Control performance of the system can be expected to be improved if the inclination angle detecter show rapid and stable output as the implement moves.
A lactose-hydrolyzed milk with low sweetness was developed using nanofiltration. Raw milk was treated with 0.03% ${\beta}$-galactosidase at $4^{\circ}C$ for 24 h to hydrolyze lactose partially. The resultant lactose-hydrolyzed milk containing 0.43% lactose was then concentrated using a nanofiltration membrane to reach concentration factor of 2.13. The concentration factors and coefficients of retention of milk components in nanofiltration were determined. The concentration factor of milk fat was 2.20 which was the highest of the milk components. The coefficient of retention of calcium and riboflavin was 0.96 and 0.76, respectively. However, the coefficient of retention of glucose, galactose, and sodium was 0.21, 0.15, and 0.22, respectively. Raw milk was treated with 0.1% ${\beta}$-galactosidase at $4^{\circ}C$ for 40 h to hydrolyze lactose fully and then concentrated to reach a concentration factor of 1.6 by using nanofiltration. The concentrated milk was reconstituted with water. The lactose-hydrolyzed milk had sweetness similar to milk. The compositional ratios of crude protein, calcium, sodium, and riboflavin of lactose-hydrolyzed nanofiltrated milk to those of raw milk were 99%, 97%, 77%, and 80%, respectively. This study showed that nanofiltration of lactose-hydrolyzed milk to remove galactose and glucose did not cause significant loss of calcium. The lactose-hydrolyzed nanofiltrated milk contained 0.06% lactose and had sweetness similar to milk.
Near infrared(NIR) spectral data have been used for the noninvasive analysis of various biological samples. Nonetheless, absorption bands of NIR region are overlapped extensively. It is very difficult to select the proper wavelengths of spectral data, which give the best PCR(principal component regression) models for the analysis of constituents of biological samples. The NIR data were used after polynomial smoothing and differentiation of 1st order, using Savitzky-Golay filters. To find the best PCR models, all-possible combinations of available principal components from the given NIR spectral data were derived by in-house programs written in MATLAB codes. All of the extensively generated PCR models were compared in terms of SEC(standard error of calibration), $R^2$, SEP(standard error of prediction) and SECP(standard error of calibration and prediction) to find the best combination of principal components of the initial PCR models. The initial PCR models were found by SEC or Malinowski's indicator function and a priori selection of spectral points were examined in terms of correlation coefficients between NIR data at each wavelength and corresponding concentrations. For the test of the developed program, aqueous solutions of BSA(bovine serum albumin) and glucose were prepared and analyzed. As a result, the best PCR models were found using a priori selection of spectral points and the final model selection by SEP or SECP.
