혼합공정의 용매가 (Na,K)NbO3 압전체의 미세구조 및 전기적 특성에 미치는 영향 (Microstructures and Electrical Properties of (Na,K)NbO3 Piezoceramics with Various Solvents at Milling Process)

  • $(Na,K)NbO_3$-based piezoelectric ceramics were synthesized by a solid phase sintering method with various milling solvents. The solvents were varied with acetone, ethanol, and pure water to investigate the effect on the microstructure and electrical properties. NKN ceramics showed the maximum values of the relative density (94%), the mechanical quality factor (Qm: 78) and the electro-mechanical coupling factor ($k_p$: 0.25) at the ethanol solvent. It might mean that a solid phase sintering of the NKN piezoelectrics with a suitable solvent could improve the relative density and the piezoelectric properties.

  • PZT 세라믹은 우수한 유전 및 압전특성을 갖고 있어 변압기, 센서 및 엑츄에이터 등에 널리 응용되고 있다. 그러나, 우수한 특성에도 불구하고 PZT세라믹스의 소결시 PbO의 높은 유독성 및 휘발로 인하여 환경오염을 야기 시킨다. 그러므로 PbO로 구성된 세라믹을 대체하기 위한 우수한 압전특성을 가진 비납계 세라믹스 개발이 연구의 주류를 이루고 있다. 그 중 비납계 NKN와 BZT는 대체물질로 많이 관심을 받고 있다. 이는 일반적인 NKN조성은 우수한 압전성과 높은 큐리온도를 가지고 있을 뿐만 아니라, BZT조성의 Zr성분이 큐리온도를 낮추거나 유전특성을 졸게 하여 유전율 곡선을 완화하게 하는 특징이 있다. 하지만 NKN은 $1140^{\circ}C$이상의 소결온도에서 K의 휘발특성으로 인해 소성 후에도 주변의 수분을 흡수하는 조해성이 발생하는 문제가 발생한다. 그래서 본 연구에서는 낮은 온도에서 NKN계 세라믹스의 밀도를 증가시킬 뿐만 아니라, 우수한 유전 및 압전특성을 갖는 세라믹스를 제조하고자 비납계 $0.94(K_{0.5}Na_{0.5})NbO_3-0.06Ba(Zr_{0.05}Ti_{0.95})O_3$ (NKN-BZT)의 조성을 사용하였고 소결조제로는 $MnO_2$, NiO, $Bi_2O_3$, ZnO, $Li_2CO_3$, CuO등을 변화주어 유전 및 압전 특성을 알아보았다.

  • $(Na,K)NbO_3$-based piezoelectric ceramics were synthesized by a liquid phase sintering method with a selected glass frit. The effects of the content of the glass frit and the sintering temperature on the microstructure and the electrical properties of the samples were investigated. With the 0.1 wt% of glass frit content, $(Na_{0.52}K_{0.44}Li_{0.06})(Nb_{0.84}Ta_{0.10}Sb_{0.06})O_3$ (NKL-NTS) ceramics showed the maximum values of the relative density (99.1%) and the electro-mechanical coupling factor ($k_p$: 0.32) at the sintering temperature of $1,050^{\circ}C$. It might mean that a liquid phase sintering with a suitable glass frit having the lower flow temperature could improve the relative density and the piezoelectric properties.

강유전체(K0.5Na0.5)NbO3의 제조 및 전기적 특성 분석 (Fabrication and Electrical Propertie of the Ferroelectric (K0.5Na0.5)NbO3)

  • Ferroelectric ceramics are broadly used for various industrial applications. In this research, the lead-free ferroelectric ceramics of $(K_{0.5}Na_{0.5})NbO_3$ was fabricated by using the solid state synthesis. The $(K_{0.5}Na_{0.5})NbO_3$ pellets were sintered at 1200, 1150 and $1100^{\circ}C$ for 4 hours in air atmosphere. Field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) characterization of the sintered KNN ceramics revealed surface morphology and grain size. And we used the X-ray diffraction (XRD) for measuring the sample crystal phase. Temperature dependence of the dielectric constant was measured by using an LCR meter. The sintered at $1150^{\circ}C$ for 4 hours sample has a highest dielectric constant 6011 at Curie temperature ($T_C$) and dense structure with $2.33{\mu}m$ grain size.

  • In this study, the effect of $Nb_2O_5$ and sintering time on the positive temperature of coefficient of resistivity (PTCR) behavior of lead free $Ba_{0.99}(Bi_{0.5}Na_{0.5})_{0.01}TiO_3$ (BBNT) ceramics were investigated in order to fabricate a PTC thermistor with high $T_c$ temperature more than $140^{\circ}C$. In particular, BBNT ceramic doped with 0.1mol% $Nb_2O_5$ and sintered at $1350^{\circ}C$ for 4 h has significantly increased Curie temperature ($T_c$) of about $200^{\circ}C$, showed good PTCR behavior of room-temperature resistivity ($\rho_{rt}$) of $40{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$, a high $\rho_{max}/\rho_{min}$ ratio of $43.78{\times}10^3$ and a large resistivity temperature factor (${\alpha}$) of 16.1%/$^{\circ}C$. With increasing addition of $Nb_2O_5$ content, the $\rho_{rt}$ decreased to a minimum value of $40\;{\Omega}cm$ at 0.1mol% $Nb_2O_5$ and the $\rho_{rt}$ increased for x value over 0.1 mol%.

  • In this study, in order to develop the composition ceramics for lead-free ultrasonic motor, $[(K_{0.5}Na_{0.5})_{0.95}Li_{0.05}(Nb_{0.96}Sb_{0.04})]O_3$ ceramics were fabricated using $Ag_2O$ as sintering aid and a conventional mixed oxide process and their piezoelectric and dielectric characteristics were investigated according to the $SrTiO_3$ substitution. $SrTiO_3$ substitution enhanced density, dielectric constant$(\varepsilon_r)$ and electromechanical coupling factor$(k_p)$. However, mechanical quality factor was deteriorated. At the 0.5mol% $SrTiO_3$ substitution, density, electromechanical coupling factor$(k_p)$, dielectric constant$(\varepsilon_r)$ and piezoelectric constant$(d_{33})$ of specimen showed the optimum value of 4.437g/$cm^3$, 0.457, 1294, 265pC/N, respectively.

  • In this study, in order to develop the lead-free piezoelectric ceramics with high piezoelectric and dielectric properties, $(K_{0.5}Na_{0.5})(Nb_{0.97}Sb_{0.03})O_3$ ceramics were fabricated using a conventional mixed oxide process and their piezoelectric and dielectric characteristics were investigated according to the $K_{5.4}Cu_{1.3}Ta_{10}O_{29}$ addition. $K_{5.4}Cu_{1.3}Ta_{10}O_{29}$ addition enhanced density, electromechanical coupling factor($k_p$) piezoelectric constant $d_{33}$ and mechanical quality factor($Q_m$). At the 0.9 mol% $K_{5.4}Cu_{1.3}Ta_{10}O_{29}$ addition, density, electromechanical coupling factor($k_p$), dielectric constant(${\varepsilon}_r$) and piezoelectric constant($d_{33}$) of specimen showed the optimum values of 0.46, 471, and 148 pC/N, respectively.

  • 산소 팔면체의 tilting에 의한 초격자 구조를 하고 있는 $(Na_{0.5}Sr_{0.5})(Ti_{0.5}Nb_{0.5})O_{3}$의 온도 변화에 다른 유전 특성 및 X-선 회절에 의한 구조의 변화를 살펴보았다. 유전 손실 측정에서 관측되는 380 K 부근의 peak는 primitive cell이 정방정에서 입방정으로 변화함에 따라 생기는 peak임을 알 수 있었으며 이 때 유전율의 변화는 관측되지 않았다. 따라서 유전 손실이 재료 내의 구조적 변화를 인지하는데 유전율보다 민감하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. Primitive cell 이 입방정으로 변화한 후에도 산소 팔면체의 tilting에 의한 초격자 회절선은 여전히 관측되었으며 500 K 정도에서 완전히 사라짐을 알 수 있었다. 하지만 이때 유전 특성의 변화는 관측되지 않았다.

CuO 첨가된 저온소결 (Na,K,Li)(Nb,Sb,Ta)O3계 세라믹스의 압전 및 유전 특성 (Piezoelectric and Dielectric Properties of Low Temperature Sintering (Na,K,Li)(Nb,Sb,Ta)O3 Ceramics Doped with CuO)

  • In this paper, in order to develop outstanding Pb-free piezoelectric composition ceramics, the $(Na_{0.525}K_{0.443}Li_{0.037})(Nb_{0.883}Sb_{0.08}Ta_{0.037})O_3+0.3wt%Bi_2O_3+0.4wt%Fe_2O_3+xwt%CuO$ (x= 0~0.8 wt%)(abbreviated as NKL-NST) lead-free piezoelectric ceramics have been synthesized using the ordinary solid state reaction method. The effects of CuO-doping on the structure and electrical properties of the NKL-NST ceramics were systematically studied. The results show that the ceramics exhibit a pure perovskite structure with orthorhombic phase at room temperature, and secondary phase was found in the ceramics. The 0.4 wt%CuO added ceramics sintered at $950^{\circ}C$ showed the optimum properties of piezoelectric constant($d_{33}$), planar piezoelectric coupling coefficient(kp) and mechanical quality factor(Qm) : $d_{33}=213$[pC/N], kp= 0.43, Qm= 423,respectively.
