Runoff Simulation and Forecasting at Ungaged Station (미계측 지점에서의 유출 모의 및 예측)

  • It is very important to analyze the correlation between discharge and water quality. The observation of discharge and water quality are effective at same point as well as same time for real time management. But no less significant is the fact that there are some of real time water quality monitoring stations far from the T/M water stage. Pyeongchanggang station is one of them. In this case, it need to observe accurate discharge data, and to develop forecasting program or system using real time data. In this paper, discharge on Pyeongchanggang station was calculated by developed runoff neural network model, and compared with discharge using WMS(Watershed Modeling System) model. WMS shows better results when peak discharge is small and hydrograph is smooth. Forecasted discharge of neural network model have achieved the highest overall accuracy of specific discharge and WMS. Neural network model forecast change of discharge well on unrecored station.

Development of Nutritional Counseling Internet Program for Weight Reduction Using Expert System (전문가 시스템을 이용한 인터넷 체중 감량 상담 프로그램 개발)

  • The purpose of the study was to develop a nutritional counseling program using expert system to assist obese people to lose weight through behavior modification in the internet. The counseling internet program for weight loss was developed by the accumulation of knowledge for dealing with eating habits and exercising behaviors into expert system tool, Knowledge Engineering Agent (KEA) by a dietitian without any help of computer expert. KEA was built based on the theory of Multiple Classification Ripple Down Rules. To accumulate knowledge into KEA, survey was performed in 150 obese people, the dietitian reviewed and consulted each survey case, and the consulted contents were learned and accumulated into KEA. Survey questionnaires were the same as those of the internet consulting program, and they included general characteristics, dietary habits, lifestyle, and exercise patterns related to obesity. KEA was used for nutritional counseling of obese people after KEA had enough knowledge for weight loss based on behavior modification by the dietitian. To accumulate knowledge to KEA, the dietitian selected proper factors inferred from the survey questionnaire of each case, and added the conclusions for them. Conclusions were made for helping clients to correct bad eating behaviors and accumulate good behaviors for losing weight. When clients answered survey questionnaires in a counseling internet program, KEA gave the recommendation how to eat, to exercise and the deal with stress in a real time for each case. If KEA did not have enough knowledge for a specific case, the conclusion window wrote no conclusion and the dietitian needed to add conclusions for the case. The conclusions for the new case added to the KEA knowledge base. In conclusions, a counseling internet program for weight reduction can be used for give advices how to deal with obesity in a man-to-man way in a real time using KEA where nutritional knowledge based on behavior modification for weight loss was accumulated.

A Method for Estimating an Instantaneous Phasor Based on a Modified Notch Filter

  • A method for estimating the instantaneous phasor of a fault current signal is proposed for high-speed distance protection that is immune to a DC-offset. The method uses a modified notch filter in order to eliminate the power frequency component from the fault current signal. Since the output of the modified notch filter is the delayed DC-offset, delay compensation results in the same waveform as the original DC-offset. Subtracting the obtained DC-offset from the fault current signal yields a sinusoidal waveform, which becomes the real part of the instantaneous phasor. The imaginary part of the instantaneous phasor is based on the first difference of the fault current signal. Since a DC-offset also appears in the first difference, the DC-offset is removed trom the first difference using the results of the delay compensation. The performance of the proposed method was evaluated for a-phase to ground faults on a 345kV 100km overhead transmission line. The Electromagnetic Transient Program was utilized to generate fault current signals for different fault locations and fault inception angles. The performance evaluation showed that the proposed method can estimate the instantaneous phasor of a fault current signal with high speed and high accuracy.

  • In this paper, We propose the real-time monitor and control mechanism based-on web service for intelligent robot called URC(Ubiquitous Robotic Companion). URC is intelligent robot designed to interact with external digital device that can communicate through wire or wireless. In this paper, we designed the result of this study into the target robot called NETTORO and proved its practical worth. we optimized web-service technology in Embedded system environment so that can monitor and control indoors in remote place through acquired information from various sensors / actuators and then we designed. Also, we described command port to WSDL, so that can apply variously such as web server or application program in AXIS engine through gSOAP transmission protocol.

  • Horizontal forces may form a major part of the loading system for structures supported on pile groups. It is known that during a strong earthquake, the dynamic behavior of a group-pile foundation is related not only to the inertial force coming from the superstructures but also to the deformation of the surrounding ground. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the behaviors of the group-pile foundations and superstructures during major earthquakes. In this paper, numerical simulation of real-scale group-pile foundation subjected to horizontal cyclic loading is conducted by using a program named as DBLEAVES. In the analysis, nonlinear behaviors of ground and piles are described by cyclic mobility model and axial force dependent model (AFD model). The purpose of this paper is to prove availability of the analysis method by comparing numerical results and test results.

  • This paper discusses a dc motor equipped electric power steering (EPS) system and demonstrates its advantages over a typical hydraulic power steering (HPS) system. The tire-road interaction torque at the steering tires is calculated using the 2 d.o.f. bicycle model, in other words by using a single-track model, which was verified with the J-turn test of a real vehicle. Because the detail parameters of a steering system are not easily acquired, a simple system is modeled here. In previous EPS systems, the assisting torque for the measured driving torque is developed as a boost curve similar to that of the HPS system. To improve steering stiffness and return-ability of the steering system, a third-order polynomial as a torque map is introduced and modified within the preferred driving torques researched by Bertollini. Using the torque map modification sufficiently improves the EPS system.

  • The ship hull part is always exposed to severe corrosive environments. Therefore, it should be protected in appropriate ways to reduce corrosion problems. So there are two effective methods in order to protect the corrosion of ship hull. One is the paint coating as a barrier between steel and electrolyte (seawater) and the other is the cathodic protection(CP) supplying protection current. In the conventional design process of the cathodic protection system the required current densities of protected materials have been used. However, the anode position of field or laboratory experiment for obtaining the required current density for CP is significantly different from anode position for real structures. Therefore, the recent CP design must consider the optimum anode position for potential distribution equally over the ship hull. The CP design companies in the advanced countries can obtain the potential distribution results on the cathodic materials by using the computer analysis module. This study would show how to approach the potential analysis in the field of corrosion engineering. The computer program can predict the under protection area on the structure when the boundary condition and analysis procedure are reasonable. In this analysis the polarization curve is converted to the boundary condition in material data.

  • 22.9kV급 가공배전선에서의 뇌격현상은 직접측정이 어렵기 때문에 지금까지 절연협조수준의 도출은 수치적인 모의해석과정에서 얻어진 과전압강도를 근거로 하고 있다. 대표적인 모델에 대해서 만이라도 실측자료를 확보할 수 있다면 해석과정의 정확도를 높이는 중요한 전기가 될 수 있다. 이러한 가공배전선로의 뇌격현상을 측정하기 위한 상용설비를 이용한 경제적 측정시스템을 구성하였다. 접지회로에서 발생하는 과전압으로 인한 인명뿐 아니라 계측설비의 안전성도 확보하고 과 경제성확보를 위하여 전주 중간에 장시간용 UPS 및 파형측정설비를 2중 차폐함 안에 넣어 1점 접지상태가 되도록 고정하고 측정point에 HV divider 및 로고스키코일을 설치하여 한 지점에서의 측정회로를 구성하였다. 전체적으로 뇌격전류 주입 위치에서부터 3지점을 선정하여 측정설비를 설치하고 경제적인 Rs485 multi-drop 회로를 구성하여 통신망을 확보하였다. 직렬통신망에는 뇌격시험 시 발생하는 과전압에 대한 보호회로로서 간단한 수동식 개폐회로를 구성하였다. 측정파형을 전체적으로 전송받는 속도가 약간 늦기는 하나 간단한 data acquisition program을 사용하여 전체 측정회로를 가동시킬 수 있었다.

On-line Generation of Three-Dimensional Core Power Distribution Using Incore Detector Signals to Monitor Safety Limits

  • It is essential in commercial reactors that the safety limits imposed on the fuel pellets and fuel clad barriers, such as the linear power density (LPD) and the departure from nucleate boiling ratio (DNBR), are not violated during reactor operations. In order to accurately monitor the safety limits of current reactor states, a detailed three-dimensional (3D) core power distribution should be estimated from the in-core detector signals. In this paper, we propose a calculation methodology for detailed 3D core power distribution, using in-core detector signals and core monitoring constants such as the 3D Coupling Coefficients (3DCC), node power fraction, and pin-to-node factors. Also, the calculation method for several core safety parameters is introduced. The core monitoring constants for the real core state are promptly provided by the core design code and on-line MASTER (Multi-purpose Analyzer for Static and Transient Effects of Reactors), coupled with the core monitoring program. through the plant computer, core state variables, which include reactor thermal power, control rod bank position, boron concentration, inlet moderator temperature, and flow rate, are supplied as input data for MASTER. MASTER performs the core calculation based on the neutron balance equation and generates several core monitoring constants corresponding to the real core state in addition to the expected core power distribution. The accuracy of the developed method is verified through a comparison with the current CECOR method. Because in all the verification calculation cases the proposed method shows a more conservative value than the best estimated value and a less conservative one than the current CECOR and COLSS methods, it is also confirmed that this method secures a greater operating margin through the simulation of the YGN-3 Cycle-1 core from the viewpoint of the power peaking factor for the LPD and the pseudo hot pin axial power distribution for the DNBR calculation.

Real-Time DSP Implementation of IMT-2000 Speech Coding Algorithm (IMT-2000 음성부호화 알고리즘의 실시간 DSP 구현)

  • In this paper, we peformed the real-time implementation of AMR(Adaptive Multi-Rate) speech coding algorithm which is adopted for IMT-2000 service using TMS320C6201, i.e., a Texas Instrument´s fixed-point DSP. With the ANSI C source code released from ETSI, optimization is performed to make it run in real-time with memory as small as possible using the C compiler and assembly language. Implemented AMR speech codec has the size of 32.06 kWords program memory, 9.75 kWords data RAM memory, and 19.89 kWords data ROM memory. And, The time required for processing one frame of 20 ms length speech data is about 4.38 ms, and it is short enough for real-time operation. It is verified that the decoded result of the implemented speech codec on the DSP is identical with the PC simulation result using ANSI C code for test sequences. Also, actual sound input/output test using microphone and speaker demonstrates its proper real-time operation without distortions or delays.
