Piezoelectric and Electro-induced Strain Properties of $(Pb_{1-2x/3}Bi_x)[(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})_{0.4}(Ti_{0.6}Zr_{0.4})_{0.6}]O_3$Ceramics with the Substitution of $Bi_2O_3$ ($Bi_2O_3$치환에 따른 $(Pb_{1-2x/3}Bi_x)[(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})_{0.4}(Ti_{0.6}Zr_{0.4})_{0.6}]O_3$ 세라믹스의 압전 및 전계유기 왜형 특성)

  • It this paper, the piezoelectric and electro-induced strain properties of (P $b_{1-}$2x/3/B $i_{x}$ )[N $i_{1}$3/N $b_{2}$3/)$_{0.4}$( $Ti_{0.6}$Z $r_{0.4}$)$_{0.6}$] $O_3$ceramics (x=0, 0.005, 0.02) were investigated with the substitution of B $i^{3+}$, and the feasibility of the application for bimorph actuator was evaluated by measuring the dynamic properties of the piezoelectric bimorph fabricated with above ceramics. Dielectric constant was enhanced with the increase of B $i^{3+}$ substitution, and appeared the maximum value of 5032 at x=0.01 composition. Increasing the substitution of B $i^{3+}$, the electromechanical coefficient( $k_{p}$ , $k_{31}$ ) was increased up to the substitution of 0.5 mol% B $i^{3+}$, showed the value of 0.656, 0.439, respectively. The piezoelectric constant( $d_{33}$ $d_{31}$ ) had the highest value of 344, 825 with the substitution of 0.5 mol% B $i^{3+}$. The strain, generated by 60 Hz AC electric field, had the largest value of 1200($\times$10$^{-6}$ $\Delta$1/1) in the composition with the substitution of 0.5 mol% B $i^{3+}$. The dynamic properties of the bimorph actuator, fabricated with the composition substitution of 0.5 mol% B $i^{3+}$, showed the largest value of 325 $\mu$m at $\pm$150 V square pulse. square pulse.are pulse..

  • The effect of Co and annealing temperature on the magnetic properties, phase change and microstructure of melt-spun $(Nd_{14.73}Fe_{78.67}B_{6.60})_{100-x}Co_x$ (X=0, 1, 2, 3) ribbons has been studied. The Co containing ribbons were found to have higher coercivity ($_iH_c$) than the ribbons without Co. Intrinsic coercivity of 20.3 kOe has been obtained by addition of 2 at%Co. This effect by Co addition is also represented in the case of hot pressed and die-upseted magnets. The maximum intrinsic coercivities of hot press and die-upset $(Nd_{14.73}Fe_{78.67}B_{6.60})_{100- x}Co_x$ (X=0, 1, 2, 3) magnets are 16.9 kOe and 15.2 kOe when X=2.

  • The cationic distributions and magnetic properties of $Cu_{x}Zn_{1-x}Fe_{2}O_{4}(0{\leq}x{\leq}1)$ have been studied by X-ray diffraction and $M\"{o}ssbauer$ spectroscopy. The crystal structures are cubic spinels in the range $0{\leq}x{\leq}0.9$. The ionic distribution of ${(Zn_{1-x}Fe_{x})}_{A}{[Zn_{x}Fe_{2-x}]}_{B}O_{4}$, where x=0.1. The distribution of $Fe^{3+}$ ions was extracted from the $M\"{o}ssbauer$ spectra below Curie temperature in the whole range $0{\leq}x{\leq}1$. The number of $Fe^{3+}$ ions in the tetrahedral sites and Curie temperature of Cu-Zn ferrite increase with increasing Cu-concentration.

  • A (g, f)-factor F of a graph G is Called a Hamiltonian (g, f)-factor if F contains a Hamiltonian cycle. The binding number of G is defined by $bind(G)\;=\;{min}\;\{\;{\frac{{\mid}N_GX{\mid}}{{\mid}X{\mid}}}\;{\mid}\;{\emptyset}\;{\neq}\;X\;{\subset}\;V(G)},\;{N_G(X)\;{\neq}\;V(G)}\;\}$. Let G be a connected graph, and let a and b be integers such that $4\;{\leq}\;a\;<\;b$. Let g, f be positive integer-valued functions defined on V(G) such that $a\;{\leq}\;g(x)\;<\;f(x)\;{\leq}\;b$ for every $x\;{\in}\;V(G)$. In this paper, it is proved that if $bind(G)\;{\geq}\;{\frac{(a+b-5)(n-1)}{(a-2)n-3(a+b-5)},}\;{\nu}(G)\;{\geq}\;{\frac{(a+b-5)^2}{a-2}}$ and for any nonempty independent subset X of V(G), ${\mid}\;N_{G}(X)\;{\mid}\;{\geq}\;{\frac{(b-3)n+(2a+2b-9){\mid}X{\mid}}{a+b-5}}$, then G has a Hamiltonian (g, f)-factor.

  • We have grown D $y_{x}$B $i_{3-x}$F $e_{5}$ $O_{12}$ (x = 0.5,1.0, 1.5,2.0) magnetic garnet thin films upon $Al_2$O3i and GGG substrate using Pechini process. The annealing temperature to get single phase D $y_{x}$B $i_{3-x}$F $e_{5}$ $O_{12}$ garnet is dependent on substrate, i.e. the annealing temperature for GGG substrate il 5$0^{\circ}C$ lower than that for $Al_2$ $O_3$ substrate. The grains of garnet thin film grown on GGG (111) plane align along [111] direction, and in this case the hysteresis curve does not saturate up to H : 5000 Oe. We attribute this phenomenon to rotation magnetization process. The maximum amount of Bi substitution in polycrystalline D $y_{x}$B $i_{3-x}$F $e_{5}$ $O_{12}$ thin film prepared by Pechini process is restricted to 2.0 Bi atom/unit cell, and this value is less than that in single garnet crystall grown by LPE method.own by LPE method.ethod.

  • This paper presents the multi-band mixer which converts a X-, K- and Ka-band adaptively by adjusting the gate-bias voltage of an active device. The proposed mixer presented a conversion loss of -10 dB at -0.8 V gate-bias voltage for X-band, a conversion loss of -9 dB at -0.3 V gate-bias voltage for K-band and for Ka-band, a conversion loss of -7 dB at -0.2 V gate-bias voltage under the LO power of +6.0 dBm. The 1dB compression point (P1dB) is +0.5 dBm for all band.

Thermal Stability, Mechanical Properties and Magnetic Properties of Fe-based Amorphous Ribbons with the Addition of Mo and Nb

  • The metallic glass ribbons of $[(Fe_xCo_{1-x})_{0.75}B_{0.2}Si_{0.05}]_{96}Mo_4$ (x = 0, 0.3, 0.6, 0.9 at.%) and $[(Fe_xCo_{1-x})_{0.75}B_{0.2}Si_{0.05}]_{96}Nb_4$ (x = 0, 0.3, 0.6, 0.9 at.%) were obtained by melt spinning with 25-30 ${\mu}m$ thickness. The thermal stability, mechanical properties and magnetic properties of Fe-Co-B-Si based systems were investigated. The values of thermal stability were measured using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), including glass transition temperature ($T_g$), crystallization temperature ($T_x$) and supercooled liquid region (${\Delta}T_x=T_x-T_g$). These amorphous ribbons were identified as fully amorphous, using X-ray diffraction (XRD). The mechanical properties of Febased samples were measured by nano-indentation. Magnetic properties of the amorphous ribbons were measured by a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The amorphous ribbons of $[(Fe_xCo_{1-x})_{0.75}B_{0.2}Si_{0.05}]_{96}Mo_4$ (x = 0, 0.3, 0.6, 0.9 at.%) and $[(Fe_xCo_{1-x})_{0.75}B_{0.2}Si_{0.05}]_{96}Nb_4$ (x = 0, 0.3, 0.6, 0.9 at.%) exhibited soft magnetic properties with low coercive force ($H_c$) and high saturation magnetization (Ms).

  • In this paper, Ca, Sn substitute YIC(Yttrium Iron Garnet) ceramics were fabricated with Al substitutions in Fe sites. The strip-line circulator was designed and the properties of fabricated ciculator were measured. When the electric, magnetic and microwave properties were measured in Ca, Sn substituted YIG with Al subsititions, the relative permittivity and perfmeability in microwave frequencies were 15.623 and 0.972, repectively. For $Y_{2.4}Ca_{0.3}Sn_{0.3}Fe_{5-x}Al_xO_{12}$ garnet ceramics sintered at $1450^{\circ}C$, the ferrimagnetic resonance line width $\Delta{H}$) of 42 Oe and the saturation magnetization of 487 G were measured at 10 GHz. The strip-line circulator was simulated with 3-D FEM(Finite Element Method) software and designed to have insertion loss of 0.8dB, return loss of 25dB, isolation of 35dB at the center frequency of 1.9GHz. The fabricated strition loss of 0.8B, reture loss of 25dB, isolation of 35dB at the center frequency of 1.9GHz. The fabricated strip-line junction circulator using above YIG ceramics had insertion loss of 0.869dB, return loss of 26.955dB, isolation of 44.409dB at the center frequency of 1.9GHz.

  • We investigate the relationships between the space X and the hyperspaces concerning admissibility and connectedness im kleinen. The following results are obtained: Let X be a Hausdorff continuum, and let A, $B{\in}C(X)$ with $A{\subset}B$. (1) If X is c.i.k. at A, then X is c.i.k. at B if and only if B is admissible. (2) If A is admissible and C(X) is c.i.k. at A, then for each open set U containing A there is a continuum K and a neighborhood V of A such that $V{\subset}IntK{\subset}K{\subset}U$. (3) If for each open subset U of X containing A, there is a continuum B in C(X) such that $A{\subset}B{\subset}U$ and X is c.i.k. at B, then X is c.i.k. at A. (4) If X is not c.i.k. at a point x of X, then there is an open set U containing x and there is a sequence $\{S_i\}^{\infty}_{i=1}$ of components of $\bar{U}$ such that $S_i{\longrightarrow}S$ where S is a nondegenerate continuum containing the point x and $S_i{\cap}S={\emptyset}$ for each i = 1, 2, ${\cdots}$.

Crystal Structure of Lithium Heptaborate, $Li_3B_7O_12$ ($Li_3B_7O_12$의 결정구조)

  • Single crystals of lithium heptaborate, Li3B7O12(M=288.49), have been grown and their structure was determined by the x-ray powder diffraction and the single crystal diffraction technique. It is found that the borate anion consists of two(B3O7)3- and (B3O8)5- groups a unit cell. The space group was determined to be P-1(Ci1) with a=6.500(3) Å, b=7.839(2) Å, c=8.512(1) Å, α=92.07(2)˚, β=104.97(2)˚, γ=99.35(3)˚, V=412.0(2) Å3, Z=2 Dx=2.32 g cm-3, MoKα, λ=0.71069 Å, μ=2.15cm-1, T=293K. The structure was refined to R=0.0339 and wR=0.0882 for 2296 unique reflections by the single crystal diffraction. By the x-ray powder diffraction, we could obtain the similar results.
