Influence of poly(ethylene-co-vinyl acetate) (EVA) types and cure systems on cure characteristics of foaming EVA compounds were investigated. Three kind EVAs with different VA contents were employed. Influence of triallyl cyanurate (TAC) and dicumylperoxide (DCP) content on the cure characteristics were examined. The minimum torque ($T_{min}$) and delta torque (${\Delta}T$) decreased as the VA content increased. The ${\Delta}T$ was increased by adding TAC and by increasing the DCP content. For the foaming EVA compounds without TAC, the cure times such as the minimum cure time ($t_{min}$), scorch time ($t_2$), and optimal cure time ($t_{90}$) did not show a specific trend according to the DCP contents. For the foaming EVA compounds containing TAC, the cure times decreased as the DCP content increased. From the experimental results, it was found that efficienct DCP/TAC ratio for improvement of the crosslink density was 1.1~2.0.
The toxicity of heavy metals (Zn, Pb) and diesel, in single and binary solution was investigated using the photobacterium Vibrio fischeri (Microtox test) as a test organism. In this experiment, the concentration of water soluble fraction of diesel was based on the total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH). The toxicity of each single compound showed the following $EC_{50}$ (15min): Zn 1.90 mg/L, Pb 0.31 mg/L, TPH 2.09 mg/L. The observed toxicity of binary mixtures increased, depending on the concentration of the mixed substance. The effects were defined as synergistic, antagonistic, or additive, in accordance with the sign of difference between the predicted and observed toxicity at binary mixtures. The interactive effects between zinc and lead were synergistic, on the other hand, antagonistic and additive effects were found in each metal and TPH mixtures on the bioluminescence of V. fischeri.

The failure mode of concrete reinforced with FRP is defined as the concrete crushing and the fiber rupture and the definition of limit state is a slightly different according to the design methods. It is relatively difficult to predict of FRP reinforced concrete because the mechanical properties of fibers are quite depending on its of fibers. The design code by ACI440 committee, which has been developed mainly on GFRP having low modulus of elasticity, is widely used, but the applicability on other FRPs of this code has not been sufficiently verified. In addition, the ultimate and serviceability limit state based on the ACI440 are comparatively difficult to predict the behavior of member with the 0.8~1.2 𝜌b because crushing and rupturing failure can be occurred simultaneously is in this region of reinforcement ratio, and predicted deflection is too sensitive according to the loading condition. Therefore, in this study, reliability and convenience of the prediction of structural performance by design methods such as ACI440 and MC90 concept, respectively, were examined through the experimental results and literature review of the beam and slab with the reinforcement ratio of 0.8 ~ 1.4. As a result of the analysis, it can be applied to the FRP reinforced structure in the case of the simple moment-curvature formula (LIM-MC) of Model Code, and the limit state design method based on the EC2 is more reliable than the ultimate strength design method.
This study was conducted to find suitable methods for screening organic resources useful for compost. Twenty-seven industrial and domestic sludges were collected from various cities and industrial areas. Contents of organic matters in the sludges were in the range of 79.3-98.0%, and the contents were much higher than the regulation level (60%) for raw materials of compost. Contents of total nitrogen were in the range of 0.8-2.6%. Contents of Fe and Al were very high. Content of HEM was highest in textile sludge ($257mg\;kg^{-1}$) and the contents in the others were in the range of $12.6-90.3mg\;kg^{-1}$. Content of PAHs was lowest in food sludge ($739.1{\mu}g\;kg^{-1}$ and pulp-mill sludge had the highest PAHs content ($3461.8{\mu}g\;kg^{-1}$). $Microtox^{(R)}$$EC_{50}$ values were higher in the sludges which were classified as a possible material in composting after analysis and investigation. Lettuce root elongation and $EC_{50}$ values were relatively lower in pulp-mill sludge, sewage sludge 3 (Large city), food sludge and leather sludge. Therefore, mineral nutrients, heavy metals, organic compounds (HEM, PAHs, PCBs), and bioassay ($Microtox^{(R)}$$EC_{50}$, Relative root elongation test) are recommended to be included in the screening system of raw material of compost in addition to the current regulation with organic matter and 8 heavy metals.

This study investigated the effect of pre-planting nitrogen (N) fertilization levels added to a soilless root medium on the growth of 'Dotaerang Dia' tomato seedlings. The N levels were varied for a total of 7 treatments: 0, 100, 250, 500, 750, 1,000, or $1,500mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$. The pH of the root media gradually rose in all treatments as the seedlings grew; however, the differences in the pH were not significant among the treatments. The electrical conductivity (EC) of the root media was significantly different among the treatments from sowing to week three, then drastically decreased after week four, which diminished the differences in the EC among the treatments. At week six, plant height, leaf length, leaf width, number of leaves, and fresh and dry weights of the shoot were highest for the treatment with $500mg{\cdot}L^{-1}N$. In contrast, the treatment with $1,500mg{\cdot}L^{-1}N$ had the lowest results for all growth measurements. The fresh weight was 67% heavier in the $500mg{\cdot}L^{-1}N$ treatment compared to the $1,500mg{\cdot}L^{-1}N$ treatment. The total N content in the tissues was lowest in the treatment with $0mg{\cdot}L^{-1}N$ and highest in the treatment with $1,000mg{\cdot}L^{-1}N$. The contents of calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), and metal micronutrients in the tissues were highest in the $250mg{\cdot}L^{-1}N$ treatment. A previous study demonstrated that adjusting the fertilization level to promote growth to over 90% of the maximum growth is a good strategy for lowering production costs and preventing damage due to excessive fertilizer absorption by crops. Our results indicated that the optimal pre-planting N fertilization level for tomato plug seedlings should be lower than $500mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ and the optimum tissue N contents should be around 3.21% to 4.60%.

To understand the distribution characteristics of PM2.5 concentration in the Saemangeum Reclamation Area and nearby areas, three points of the background area, the occurrence area, and the affected area were selected and samples were collected for each season. The chemical composition was determined. As a result of analyzing the chemical composition contained in PM2.5, NO3- (7.2 ㎍/m3), SO42- (4.3 ㎍/m3), NH4+ (4.3 ㎍/m3), OC (2.5 ㎍/m3), Si (1.3 ㎍/m3) m3) and EC (0.5 ㎍/m3) seemed to be the main components, and NO3-, SO42-, NH4+, which are components that form secondary particles, occupied a large proportion. The composition ratio of PM2.5 was investigated in the order of ion component (56.8%) > Unknown (27.4%) > carbon component (11.8%) > heavy metal component (4.0%). During the PM2.5 high concentration case days, the ionic component accounted for 90.7% during atmospheric stagnation cases, whereas the chemical composition ratio was in the order of ionic component (51.7%) > heavy metal component (41.5%) > carbon component (6.8%) during yellow dust cases. It was found that the characteristic of PM2.5 in the Saemangeum reclaimed land and surrounding areas is mainly influenced by outside (domestic and overseas) throughout the year. Ion components accounted for the largest portion of PM2.5 components in this area, but there were few sources of SOx and NOx emission in the Seamangeum area, which are precursors for secondary particle formation. Therefore, it is judged that most of these are generated and influenced as a secondary reaction in the atmosphere from the outside.

In this paper, we proposed a new DGS(Defected Ground Structure) Doherty amplifier for IMT-2000 band. Originally, active load-pull analysis of a Doherty amplifier assumes ideal harmonic termination condition. However, there have been no papers considering this ideal harmonic termination condition. We obtained excellent improvements of efficiency, gain, maximum output power as well as superior size reduction of a Doherly amplifier by satisfying the overlooked assumption of ideal harmonic termination through the adaptation of DGS at the output transmission line of carrier and peaking amplifier that is essential for Doherty operation. The amount of both the 2nd and the 3rd harmonic rejection of the proposed DGS Doherty amplifier over the conventional one are 44.92 dB and over 23.77 dB, respectively. The acquired improvement in Pl dB, gain, drain efficiency, and ACPR to WCDMA 1FA signal were 0.42 dB, 0.33 dB, $6.4\%$ and 5.4 dBc, respectively. Moreover, electrical length of $90{\circ}$ is reduced at each of the DGS carrier amplifier path and DGS peaking amplifier path, therefore the whole amplifier circuit size is considerably reduced.
Cobalt is a naturally occurring element found in rocks, soil, water and/or is among the harmful pollutants as generated by industrialized. In the environment, cobalt has two oxidation states, cobalt (II) (Co (II)) and cobalt (III) (Co (III)). If coastal water is contaminated by cobalt, it through the food chain can have an impact on marine ecosystems. Therefore, we examined the gametotoxic and embryotoxic effects of Co (II) at various concentrations (10, 100, 500, 1000, 2500 ppb) in the sea urchin $Hemicentrotus$$pulcherrimus$. Spawning was induced by injecting 1 mL of 0.5 M KCl into coelomic cavity. Males released white or cream-colored sperms and females released yellow or orange-colored eggs. Experiment was begun within 30 min the collection of both gametes. The fertilization and embryo development rates test were performed for 10 min and 64 h after fertilization, respectively. The fertilization rates in the control condition (not including Co (II)) and experimental group were not significantly changed. The embryo development rates in the control condition were greater than 90% and were significantly decreased with concentration dependent manner. The normal embryogenesis rate was significantly inhibited in exposed to cobalt (II) ($EC_{50}$=71.84 ppb, 95% Cl=16.71-203.36 ppb). The NOEC and LOEC of normal embryogenesis rate were <10 ppb and 10 ppb, respectively. These results suggest that the early embryo stages of $H.$$pulcherrimus$ have toxic effect at greater than 10 ppb of Co (II) concentration.

Xylanase(EC. 3. 2. 1. 8) was purified approximately 10.2 fold from Aspergillus niger SFN-416 by a sequential process of ammonium sulfate fractionation, Sephadex G-100 gel filtration and DEAE-Sephacel ion exchange chromatography. Molecular weight of the enzyme was approximately 31,000 daltons. The optimum pH and temperature of the enzyme activity were 3.5 and $50^{\circ}C$ respectively. The enzyme activity was enhanced by $Fe^{2+}$ and $Mn^{2+}$, and inhibited by $Hg^{2+}$. The activity was decreased by addition of methanol, ethanol, isopropanol and 1-butanol at a concentration of 10%(v/v).

A bacterial strain, designated as JK-43, producing extracellular cyclodextrin glucanotransferase (CGTase)[EC 2.4.1.19] was isolated from kimchi. The CGTase from isolated strain JK-43 showed the transglucosylation activity from soluble starch to L-ascorbic acid(AA) compared to those obtained from other strains. A main product formed by this reaction was identified as $2-O-{\alpha}-glucopyranosyl$ L-ascorbic acid(AA-2G) by testing its susceptibility to ${\alpha}-glucosidase$ hydrolysis, the HPLC profiles, and through the elementary analysis. the ${\beta}-CD,\;{\gamma}-CD$, potato starch and corn starch were identified to be suitable glucosyl donor for transglucosylation reaction on AA by CGTase. Acceptor specificity on AA-2G production was examined by use of AA, Iso-AA and AA-2P. Transglucosylation was observed toward AA-2P as well as AA and Iso-AA. The microorganism isolated from kimchi was identified as a strain of Bacillus sp. JK-43 based on the morphological, cultural, biochemical characteristics and partial 16SrDNA sequence analysis. The maximal CGTase production was observed in a medium containing 1.0% soluble starch, 1.0% yeast extract, 1.0% $Na_2CO_3\;0.1%\;K_2HPO_4,\;and\;0.02%\;MgSO_4{\cdot}7H_2O$ with initial pH 7.0. The strain was cultured at $37^{\circ}C$ for 26 hrs with reciprocal shaking.
