Effect of V2O5 Modification in V2O5/TiO2-ZrO2 Catalysts on Their Surface Properties and Catalytic Activities for Acid Catalysis

  • V2O5/TiO2-ZrO2 catalyst modified with V2O5 was prepared by adding Ti(OH)4-Zr(OH)4 powder into an aqueous solution of ammonium metavanadate followed by drying and calcining at high temperatures. The characterization of prepared catalysts was performed using XRD, DSC, solid-state 51V NMR, and FTIR. In the case of calcination temperature of 500 oC, for the catalysts containing low loading V2O5 below 25 wt % vanadium oxide was in a highly dispersed state, while for catalysts containing high loading V2O5 equal to or above 25 wt % vanadium oxide was well crystallized due to the V2O5 loading exceeding the formation of monolayer on the surface of TiO2-ZrO2. The strong acid sites were formed through the bonding between dispersed V2O5 and TiO2-ZrO2. The larger the dispersed V2O5 amount, the higher both the acidity and catalytic activities for acid catalysis.

Effect of Sulfation on Physicochemical Properties of ZrO2 and TiO2 Nanoparticles

  • Effect of sulfation processes on the physicochemical properties of ZrO2 and TiO2 nanoparticles were thoroughly investigated. SO4/ZrO2 and SO4/TiO2 catalysts were synthesized to identify the acidity character of each. The wet impregnation method of ZrO2 and TiO2 nanoparticles was employed using H2SO4 with various concentrations of 0.5, 0.75, and 1 M, followed by calcination at 400, 500, and 600 ℃ to obtain optimum conditions of the catalyst synthesis process. The highest total acidity was found when using 1 M SO4/ZrO2-500 and 1 M SO4/TiO2-500 catalysts, with total acidity values of 2.642 and 6.920 mmol/g, respectively. Sulfation increases titania particles via agglomeration. In contrast, sulfation did not practically change the size of zirconia particles. The sulfation process causes color of both catalyst particles to brighten due to the presence of sulfate. There was a decrease in surface area and pore volume of catalysts after sulfation; the materials' mesoporous structural properties were confirmed. The 1 M SO4/ZrO2 and 1 M SO4/TiO2 catalysts calcined at 500 ℃ are the best candidate heterogeneous acid catalysts synthesized in thus work.

광촉매 TiO2 함유 ZrO2 박막의 초친수성 (Super Hydrophilic Properties of ZrO2 Thin Film Containing TiO2 Photo-Catalysis)

  • A $ZrO_2$ coating solution containing $ZrO_2$ photo-catalysis, which is transparent in visible light, was prepared by the hydrolysis of alkoxide, and thin films on the $SiO_2$ glass substrate were formed in a dipcoating method. These thin films were heat-treated at temperatures ranging from $250^{\circ}C-800^{\circ}C$ and their characteristics were subjected to thermal analysis, XRD, spectrometry, SEM, EDS, contact angle measurement, and AFM. Tetragonal $ZrO_2$ phase was found in the thin film heat treated at $450^{\circ}C$, and anatase $TiO_2$ phase was detected in the thin film heat-treated at $600^{\circ}C$ and above. The thickness of the films was approximately 300 nm, and the roughness was 0.66 nm. Thus, the film properties are excellent. The films are super hydrophilic with a contact angle of $4.0^{\circ}$; moreover, they have self-cleaning effect due to the photo catalytic property of anatase $TiO_2$.

  • 지르코니아 ($ZrO_2$) 표면에 금속 (Au)으로 표면 코팅한 후 Ti-6Al-4V와 진공 브레이징 접합을 행하였다. 표면에 코팅한 Au 층의 영향을 비교 분석하기 위하여 Au를 코팅하지 않은 지르코니아도 모재로 사용하였다. 접합소재로는 Ag-Cu-Ti계 active filler를 사용하였다. $ZrO_2$/Ti-6Al-4V 브레이징 결과, active filler는 양측 모재 표면에 wetting 되었으며, Ti-6Al-4V 내부로 filler 확산으로 인하여 두 모재의 direct joint가 관찰되었다. 접합 계면 사이에 접합부 결함은 관찰되지 않았다.

  • 마그네시아-지르코니아 복합체의 소결과 미세구조에 미치는 $TiO_{2}$의 영향에 대하여 검토하였다. 3mol%$Y_{2}$O_{3}$를 함유한 $ZrO_{2}$$TiO_{2}$첨가시 $1400^{\circ}C$에서 기지상인 MgO와 첨가제인 $TiO_{2}$의고용에 의해서 $c-ZrO_{2}$상으로 존재하였다. $TiO_{2}$첨가시 조성에 관계엾이 승온수축거동은 유사하였으며 $1650^{\circ}C$에서 최종수축율은 8.58-11.0%였다. 1.67wt%$TiO_{2}$첨가시 소결이 촉진되어 $1600^{\circ}C$ 2시간에서의 소결밀도는 3.7g/$\textrm{cm}^3$(이론밀도의 98%)였다. $ZrO_{2}$내에 고용된 MgO와 $TiO_{2}$의 양은 각각 5.67wt%, 2.62wt%로 냉각과정중 입계주위에서 일부 석출되어 Ti화합물을 형성하였다. 이의 존재로 말미암아 생성된 미세균열은 꺽임강도를 감소시켰다.

  • Dielectric hysteresis characteristics of Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O3 ceramics have been investigated as a function of the amount of MnO2 addition ranged from 0.0 wt% in Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O3 ceramics enhanced the dielectric strength, aging effect and remanent polarization, while reduced the coercive field. These results could be explained by the effect of Mn-Vo association due to the substitution of Mn for the (Zr, Ti) site in PZT.

PT, PZ와 PZT나노튜브의 졸-겔 형판합성과 특성 (Sol-Gel Template Synthesis and Characterization of PT, PZ and PZT Nanotubes)

  • 졸-겔 형판 합성법을 이용하여 페로브스카이트 구조를 갖는 나노튜브를 합성하고 그 특성을 조사하였다. PbTiO3(PT), PbZrO3(PZ)와 PbZrO3-PbTiO3(PZT)고용체 나노튜부는 반응물, Ti(OPri)4, Zr(OBu)3와 Pb(OAc)2-3H2O 들의 킬레이트 졸-겔 합성법에 의해서 합성하였다. 산화 알루미늄 형판은 200nm의 직경을 갖는 훠트만 아노디스크가 사용되었다. 6.0M-NaOH 용액에서 형판을 제거한 다음, 주사현미경 분석에 의해서 50m 길이와 200nm 외곽 직경의 생성물 나노튜브를 확인할 수 있었다. 투과현미경 분석과 전자회절 분석에 의하여 나노튜브가 다결정임을 확인하였다. DSC 분석에 의하여 PT 나노튜브의 상전이 온도는 특이하게도 234.4$^{\circ}C$ 임이 확인되었으며, 이때의 입자크기는 X-선 분석의 하나인 Scherrer 식에 의해서 15.4nm 임이 계산되었다.

Atmosphere Effects in Low Temperature Pyrolysis of Chemical Solution Derived Pb(Zr, Ti) O3 Films

  • $Pb(Zr, Ti)O_3$ (Pb:Zr:Ti=1:0.52:0.48) thin films were prepared on single crystal MgO(100) substrates by dipping-pyrolysis process using a solution of constituent metal naphthenates as starting materials. The solution was spin-coated onto substrate and the precursor films were pyrolyzed at $200^{\circ}C$ in air or at $200^{\circ}C$ in argon for 1, 2, 5 and 24h, followed by final heat treatment at $750^{\circ}C$. For all the films, highly (h00)/(00l)-oriented Pb$Pb(Zr, Ti)O_3$ thin films with smooth surfaces and crack-free were obtained, whereas thin film pyrolyzed in air for 24 h exhibited polycrystalline character. According to the pole-figure analysis, epitaxy of the product films was found to depend on pyrolysis atmosphere.

고효율 가시광 반응형 광촉매를 이용한 NOx의 광저감율 평가 (Evaluation on the Photodegradation Rate of NOx Using High Efficiency Visible-Light Responsive Photocatalysts)

  • Titania is widely used as an effective photocatalyst for the photodegradation of environmental pollutants in air. In this study, novel N-doped $ZrO_2/TiO_2$ photocatalysts were synthesized via sol-gel method and characterized by UV-Vis spectrophotometer, transmission electron microscope, and X-ray diffractometer. N-doped $ZrO_2/TiO_2$ photocatalysts were nano-sized with an average particle size of about 20 nm. The XRD pattern of N-doped $ZrO_2/TiO_2$ photocatalysts showed both anatase and rutile phases. The photocatalytic activity of N-doped $ZrO_2/TiO_2$ photocatalysts was evaluated by degradation of NO under UV and visible light irradiation at various parameters such as amount of photocatalyst, concentration of NO, and intensity of light. The photocatalytic activity of N-doped $ZrO_2/TiO_2$ photocatalysts was effective for the enhancement of the degradation of NO and higher than that of $TiO_2$ photocatlysts under UV and visible light irradiation.

$Ba2(Ti_{8.472}Zr_{0.528})O_{20}$의 결정구조와 유전특성 (Microstructure and Dielectric Properties of $Ba2(Ti_{8.472}Zr_{0.528})O_{20}$)

  • A single phase Ba2(Ti8,472Zr0.528)O20 was prepared by the oxalate method from aqueous solution of BaCl2 TiCl4 and ZrOCl2. The structure ananlysis has been carried out by Rietveld analysis method at room temperature. Powder X-ray data of Ba2(Ti8,472Zr0.528)O20 was indexed with the triclinic lattice(a=7.4587 $\AA$ b=14.0672 $\AA$, c=13.3327 $\AA$, $\alpha$=89.87, $\beta$=79.45 ${\gamma}$=84.46) The R (Residual) values of structure refinement were in a range between 10.00 and 8.00 This analysis proved that the added Zr occupied Ti sites in th structure of Ba2Ti9O20. Ba2(Ti8,472Zr0.528)O20 has excellent dielectric properties(dielectric constant K=40.49 at 5.42 GHz Q=4621) so that it can be used as good microwave dielectric materials.
