Cu-Ti합금의 침투에 의한 $Al_2O_3$ 세라믹 용사층의 복합화 (Infiltration of the Cu-Ti Alloys to Porous $Al_2O_3$ Ceramic Coating)

  • Al$_{2}$O$_{3}$ ceramic coating layer by gas flame spraying was very porous, therefore it could not have wear and corrosion resistance at all. To get a dense and strong coating layer, a method to infiltrate an alloy into the pores of $Al_{2}$O$_{3}$ ceramic coating was investigated. Cu-Ti alloys, which had good wettability and reactivity with $Al_{2}$O$_{3}$ ceramic, were examined for infiltration. Infiltration of the alloys was performed in vacuum at 1100.deg.C. The melt of Cu-50 at % Ti alloy was well penetrated through the porous $Al_{2}$O$_{3}$ coating and tightly sealed the pores, unbounded area and microcracks in the coating. The alloy melt in the pores reacted with $Al_{2}$O$_{3}$ ceramic to produce a suboxide phase, Cu$_{2}$Ti$_{4}$O. This composite layer which was composed of $Al_{2}$O$_{3}$ and Cu$_{2}$Ti$_{4}$O phase had good microstructure and wear and corrosion resistance. Additionally, microstructures at interfaces between coating layers were greatly improved owing to the effect of vacuum heat treating.

  • The effects of $TiO_2$ addition on the electrical insulation of AlN ceramics with 1 wt% $Y_2O_3$ as a sintering aid have been investigated. Some of $TiO_2$ has reacted with AlN powders and transformed to fine TiN particles during sintering, which was uniformly dispersed along grain boundaries of AlN. At a high electrical field (500 V/mm), the resistivity of AlN ceramics with $TiO_2$ addition of 0.2 wt% increased about 1000 times from $3{\times}10^{10}{\Omega}cm$ to $3.1{\times}10^{13}{\Omega}cm$. Based on the impedance spectroscopy measurement, it was found that $TiO_2$ addition increased dramatically electrical resistivity of AlN grains much more than that of grain boundaries. Thus, $TiO_2$ was believed to dissolve inside AlN grains to suppress ionic conduction of Al vacancies. This suppressed ionic conduction by Ti incorporation into AlN grains seems to contribute to more electrically insulating AlN ceramics.

  • The compound, Ti3(Al,Si)C2, was synthesized by hot pressing a powder mixture of TiCX, Al and Si. Its oxidation at 900 and 1000 oC in air for up to 50 h resulted in the formation of rutile-TiO2, -Al2O3 and amorphous SiO2. During oxidation, Ti diffused outwards to form the outer TiO2 layer, and oxygen was transported inwards to form the inner mixed layer.

  • In order to improve the oxidation resistance of $Ti_3Al$, Ti-25at.%Al composites containing dispersed particles of 15wt.%SiC were prepared by a tubular mixing-spark plasma sintering method. The sintered composites had $Ti_3Al$, SiC, $Ti_5Si_3$ and TiC. The presence of $Ti_5Si_3$ and TiC indicates that some of SiC particles reacted with Ti to from more stable phases. From oxidation tests at 800, 900 and $1000^{\circ}C$ under 1 atm of pure oxygen, it was found that the oxidation rate of Ti3Al was effectively reduced by the addition of SiC. The scale was primarily composed of an outer $TiO_2$ layer having some $Al_2O_3 $islands, an intermediate relatively thick $Al_2O_3 $ layer, and an inner $TiO_2+Al_2O_3+SiO_2$ mixed layer. Beneath the scale, Kirkendall voids were seen.

  • The high-temperature oxidation behavior of Ti39Al-10V alloy that consisted primarily of $\beta$-Ti, ${\gamma}$-TiAl, and $\alpha_2$ $-Ti_3$Al phases was studied. The relatively thick and porous oxide scales formed consisted primarily of an outermost, thin TiO$_2$ layer, and an outer, thin $Al_2$$O_3$-rich layer, and an inner, very thick (TiO$_2$, $Al_2$$O_3$) mixed layer. Vanadium was present uniformly throughout the oxide scale. The formation and subsequent evaporation of V-oxides such as VO, $VO_2$, and $V_2$O$_{5}$ deteriorated oxidation resistance and scale adherence of the TiAl alloy significantly.y.

치과용 티타늄 및 Ti-25wt%Pd 주조체의 표면반응생성물 (Surface Reaction Products of CP- Ti and Ti-25wt%Pd Castings Used for Dental Application)

  • 본 연구에서는 치과용 티타늄(CP-Ti)과 Ti-25wt%Pd를 인산염계 실리카$.$알루미나 주형재로 주조 후 SEM/EDS, XRD, XPS를 이용하여 주조시 생성되는 표면반응생성물을 조사하였다. Ti-25wt%Pd는 CP-Ti에 비하여 융점이 현저이 감소하여 주조체의 표면반응이 상대적으로 적게 발생하였다. 또한 인산염계 실리카$.$알루미나 주형재를 소성한 결과 주형재는 $SiO_2$, $Al_2$ $O_3$, P$_2$ $O_{5}$, $Mg_3$(P $O_4$)$_2$, AlP $O_4$, $Mg_2$ $SiO_4$, MgAl$_2$ $O_4$의 성분들로 구성되어 있었으며, 표면반응생성물은 CP-Ti 주조체의 경우 $Ti_{5}$Si$_3$ 와 Ti $O_2$로, Ti-25wt%Pd 주조체의 경우 Ti $O_2$$SiO_{x}$ 로 구성되어 있었다.

알루미늄 폐드로스를 활용한 SCR 탈질촉매 제조 및 특성평가 (Characteristic Evaluation of SCR catalyst using Aluminum dross)

  • 알루미늄 금속이 용해될 시 대기와 접촉한 용탕 표면에서 생성되는 알루미늄 드로스는 알루미늄 생산 공정에서 발생되는 필수적인 부산물이다. 그러나 알루미늄 드로스의 대부분은 매립에 의한 처리가 이루어지고 있어 환경오염의 원인이 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 알루미늄 드로스를 재자원화 하여 SCR(Selective Catalytic Reduction) 촉매의 담체에 일부 대체하는 연구를 진행하였다. 재활용 된 알루미늄 드로스를 촉매 원료 $WO_3$, $V_2O_5$, $TiO_2$와 혼합하여 $V_2O_5-WO_3/TiO_2-Al_2O_3$ SCR촉매를 제조하였다. 제조 된 $V_2O_5-WO_3/TiO_2-Al_2O_3$ SCR촉매는 XRD, XRF, BET 분석을 통해 특성평가를 진행 하였으며, 내구성 평가를 통해 $Al_2O_3$ 함량이 증가할수록 V$V_2O_5-WO_3/TiO_2-Al_2O_3$ SCR촉매의 강도가 증가하는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. MR(Micro-Reactor)을 이용한 촉매 활성평가를 진행하여 촉매의 실사용 온도 $350^{\circ}C{\sim}400^{\circ}C$에서 90%이상의 촉매효율을 나타내었다.

Catalytic Effects and Characteristics of Ni-based Catalysts Supported on TiO2-SiO2 Xerogel

  • The catalytic activities of nickel-based catalysts were estimated for oxidizing acetaldehyde of VOCs exhausted from industrial facilities. The catalysts were prepared by sol-gel methods of SiO2 and SiO2-TiO2 as a xerogel followed by impregnating Al2O3 powder with the nickel nitrate precursor. The crystalline structure and catalytic properties for the catalysts were investigated by use of BET surface area, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Xray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and temperature programmed reduction (TPR) techniques. These results show that nickel oxide is transformed to NiAl2O4 spinel structure at the calcination temperature of 400 °C in response to the steps with after- and co-impregnation of Al2O3 powder in sol-gel process. The NiAl2O4 could suppress the oxidation reaction of acetaldehyde by catalysts. The NiO is better dispersed on SiO2-TiO2/Al2O3 support than SiO2/Al2O3 and SiO2-TiO2-Al2O3 supports. From the testing results of catalytic activities for oxidation of acetaldehyde, Catalysts showed a big difference in conversion efficiencies with the way of the preparation of catalysts and the loading weight of nickel. The catalyst of 8 wt.% Ni/TiO2-SiO2/Al2O3 showed the best conversion efficiency on acetaldehyde oxidation with 100% conversion efficiency at 350 °C.

$TiO_2$$ZrO_2$의 첨가에 따르는 $Li_2O-Al_2O_3-SiO_2$ 계 유리의 결정화에 관한 연구 (Studied on the Crystallization of $Li_2O-Al_2O_3-SiO_2$ Glass by Adding $TiO_2$ and $ZrO_2$)

  • The effect of additions, $TiO_2$ and $ZrO_2$ as nucleant on the base glass which composition was determined to 0.97 $Li_2O-Al_2O_3-SiO_2$ has been investigated by means of D.T.A., X-ray diffraction and dilatation. $TiO_2$ and $ZrO_2$ as nucleant were added 0.06mole, in which ratios of $TiO_2$/$ZrO_2$ were varied 1/0, 2/1, 1/1, 1/2 and 0/1. The crystalline phases were appeared to $\beta$-spodumene as principal, $\beta$-eucryptite and $ZrO_2$ as secondary, regardless of nucleant variations. The crystallinity of the crystallized glass added $TiO_2$, $ZrO_2$ mixture as nucleant was higher than that of the glass added $TiO_2$ or $ZrO_2$ only. The crystallinity of the glass added $TiO_2$/$ZrO_2$ =1/1 was highest. Increasing the addition of $ZrO_2$, it has been observed that the crystal growing temperature became higher.

소결조제와 열처리 분위기가 $(1-x)CaTiO_3-xLaAlO_3$ 계의 소결 및 마이크로파 유전특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Sintering Additives and Annealing Atmospheres on the Microwave Dielectric and Sintering Characteristics of $(1-x)CaTiO_3-xLaAlO_3$ System)

  • The effects of the annealing atmospheres(O2, N2) and sintering additives that Bi2O3 is a major composition on the microwave dielectric and sintering propertie of (1-x)CaTiO3-xLaAlO3 system were investigated. The annealing atmospheres and the increase of annealing time after sintering did not affect the relative dielectric constant($\varepsilon$r) and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency($\tau$f) of (1-x)CaTiO3-xLaAlO3 system. However, the Q.f0 values of (1-x)CaTiO3-xLaAlO3 were very sensitive to annealing atmospheres. As the annealing time increased under O2 atmosphere the Q.f0 values of (1-x)CaTiO3-xLaAlO3 enhanced untill 10 hrs in 0.3$\leq$x$\leq$0.6 region, but degraded over that time. The increasing rate of Q.f0 value increased wth increasing x. On the other hand, as the annealing time increased under N2 atmosphere the Q.f0 values were constant in x$\leq$0.6 region, increased gradually in x$\geq$0.7 region. When 0.97Bi2O3-0.03Al2O3 and 0.76Bi2O3-0.24NiO of 3wt% as sintering additives were added to (Ca0.5La0.5) (Ti0.5Al0.5)O3 (x=0.5) the sintering temperature of 1$600^{\circ}C$ was lowered to 140$0^{\circ}C$, and the relative dielectric constant($\varepsilon$r) and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency($\tau$f) were not nearly changed. The addition of 0.97Bi2O3-0.03Al2O3 and 0.76Bi2O3-0.24NiO of 3wt% to (Ca0.5La0.5)(Ti0.5Al0.5)O3 made the Q.f0 values to be lower about 15% and 34%, respectively.
