Optical Properties and Structure of BaO-TiO2-SiO2 Glass Ceramics

  • Nanocrystallized glasses with the composition of $(50-x)BaO-xTiO_2-50SiO_2$ (x=10, 15, 16.7 and 20) have been prepared by heat-treatment at $T_x$ (crystallization onset temperature) for 3 h, and their optical properties, photoluminescence (PL), XRD and Raman spectra have been examined. The absorption edges of the glasses were red-shifted and the absorption coefficient increased with an increase of $TiO_2$. The glass subjected to the heat-treatment showed a dense formation of ${Ba_2}{TiSi_2}{O_8}$ crystals. The XRD and Raman results show that the nanocrystallized glasses formed fresnoite phase up to $TiO_2$ concentrations of 15 mol%. Further-more, blue luminescence with a peak at the wavelength of around 470nm was observed in the nanocrystallized glass, demon strating the optical multifunctional nanocrystallized material such as non-linear optics and photo-luminescence. It is thought that the blue luminescence from the ${Ba_2}{TiSi_2}{O_8}$ nanocrystallized glass originated from the presence of $Ti^{4+}$ incorporated into the fresnoite-type structure.

소결온도에 따른 $MgTiO_3-SrTiO_3$ 세라믹의 구조적 특성 (Structural Properties of $MgTiO_3-SrTiO_3$ Geramics with Sintering Temperature)

  • The (1-x)$MgTiO_3-SrTiO_3$ (x=0. 0.1, 0.2, 0.3) ceramics were prepared by the conventional mixed oxide method. The structural properties were investigated with sintering temperature and composition ratio by XRD, SEM and BT-TGA. Increasing the sintering temperature from $1300^{\circ}C$ to $1600^{\circ}C$, second phase was decreased and grain size was increased. The average gram size of the 0.8$MgTiO_3-SrTiO_3$ ceramics sintered at $1600^{\circ}C$ were $3.61{\mu}m$.

  • Domain structure and polarization switching in (001)-oriented $Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-x%PbTiO_3$ (PMN-x%PT) crystals for x=20 and 35at% have been investigated in-situ by scanning force microscope (SFM) in a piezoresponse mode under a step DC electrical voltage. In the initial annealed condition, polar nano domains (PND) and domain striations oriented along {110} were observed in x=20 and x=35, respectively. For x=20, domain switching occurs by heterogeneous nucleation, where nucleation is not confined in the vicinity of domain boundaries, but rather can occur throughout the crystal volume. However, for x=35, domain switching tends to be preferentially initiated near pre-existing twin boundaries. With increasing the applying voltage, the nuclei density increased and assembled into {110} striations, indicating a stress-accommodated domain growth process. At higher voltage, nucleation occurs heterogeneously throughout the crystal volume.

Enhanced Photocatalytic Disinfection Efficiency through TiO2/WO3 Composite Synthesis and Heat Treatment Optimization

  • This study focuses on improving the photocatalytic degradation efficiency by synthesizing a TiO2/WO3 composite. Given the environmental significance of photocatalysis and the limitations posed by TiO2's large bandgap and high electron recombination rate, we explored doping, surface modification, and synthesis strategies. The composite was created using a ball mill process and heat treatment, analyzed with field emission scanning electron microscope, high resolution X-ray diffraction, Raman microscope, and UV-Vis/NIR spectrometer to examine its morphology, composition and absorbance. We found that incorporating WO3 into the TiO2 lattice forms a Wx-Ti1-x-O2 solution, with optimal WO3 content reducing the band gap and enhancing sterilization efficiency by inhibiting the anatasese to rutile transition. This contributes to the field by offering a way to overcome TiO2's limitations and improve photocatalytic performance.

Ca-Ce-Hf-Ti-O System에서의 파이로클로어 합성 (Synthesis of Pyrochlore in the System of Ca-Ce-Hf-Ti-O)

  • 장주기 방사성 폐기물인 악티나이드 원소들을 고정화시킬 수 있는 파이로클로어 (pyrochlore; CaCeH$f_xTi_{2-x}O_7$=0.2, 0.6, 1.0, 1.4, 1.8, 2.0)를 합성하여 상평형 관계 및 특성을 연구하였다. 혼합된 시료는 상온에서 400kg/$cm^2$의 압력으로 성형한 후, 산소분위기에서 1200∼1$600^{\circ}C$ 범위로 소결온도를 변화시키면서 소성하였다. 합성된 시료는 XRD를 사용하여 상분석을 실시하였다. 실험결과, 파이로클로어의 최적 합성조건은 산소분위기 하에서, 각각의 조성에 따라, 1300∼150$0^{\circ}C$로 매우 다양하였다. 합성시 생성된 상으로는 페롭스카이트, 파이로클로어 및 $A_{2}BO_{5}$산화물 등이 있으며, 본 계의 특성은 Hf의 함량증가에 따라 페롭스카이트 및 파이로클로어의 격자상수가 증가한다는 점이다. 이같은 현상은 육배위 자리를 차지하고 있는 Hf와 Ti의 이온반경의 차이에서 비롯된 것이다.

고유전율 자기 캐패시터용 재료의 전기적 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Electrical properties or the Ceramic capacitor's material with High dielectric constant)

  • In this paper, a study on the electrical properties of ternary compound ceramics $[(1-y-x)BaTiO_{3}-ySrTiO_{3}-xMgTiO_3]$ fabricated 7 samples with each mol[%] by using the mixed oxide method. In this case, the sintering temperature were at $1,250[^{\circ}C]$ for 2[hr]. Also made ceramic capacitors from 7 samples, temperature coefficient of the capacitance and the variation of relative dielectric constants and loss with fixed frequency (1KHZ) were studied. In some ceramic capacitors, has shown very good properties of the dielectric constants and loss. In case of BSM-11 ceramic capacitor, is sure to the commercial capacitor which shows steady properties.

Bipolar Resistance Switching Characteristics of $NiO_{1+x}$ films with Adding Higher-Valence Impurities

  • The effects of adding higher-valence impurities on the bipolar resistive switching characteristics of Pt/$NiO_{1+x}$/TiN MIM stacks and physical properties were investigated. $NiO_{1+x}$ films with 14% W deposited at 20% oxygen partial pressure exhibited the bipolar resistance switching characteristics in Pt/$NiO_{1+x}$/TiN MIM stacks, while $NiO_{1+x}$ films with 8.2% W show unipolar resistance switching behavior. The relationship of W-doping and the crystallinity was studied by X-ray diffraction. The metallic Ni contents and $WO_x$ binding states with W amount was investigated by XPS. Our result showed that the metallic Ni, $WO_x$ binding states, and crystallinity in $NiO_{1+x}$ played an important role on the bipolar resistive switching.

Pb($Zn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-Ba(Zn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-PbTiO_3$ 세라믹의 압전특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Piezoelectric Properties of the Pb($Zn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-Ba(Zn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-PbTiO_3$)

  • (1-x-y)Pb($Zn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-Ba(Zn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-PbTiO_3(0.12{\leq}x{\leq}0.21, 0.24{\leq}y{\leq}0.33$) ternary compound ceramics were fabricated by the mixed oxide method. The sintering temperature and time were 1050 [$^{\circ}C$], 2[hr]. Morphotropic phase boundary region was chosen for the composition. 0.55 PZN-0.21 BZN-0.24 PT specimen had the highest value of relative dielectric constants, 5353. The curie temperature of specimens were increased linearly with PT content. Near the morphotropic phase boundary, electro-mechanical coupoling factor and mechanical quality factor of the specimens had the highest values.
