Sintering and dielectric properties of $(Pb,La)TiO_3$ powder prepared by hydrothermal method (수열법에 의해 합성된$(Pb,La)TiO_3$분말의 소결 및 유전특성)

  • The $[(Pb_{1-x}$La_{2x/3})TiO_3$, X=0.2] powder was synthesized by the hydrothermal method, and their sintering and dielectric properties according to Mn additive were examined. The relative density of sintered PLT specimen at $1150^{\circ}C$ for 5 hrs with Mn 0.02 mol% additive was 96.7%. The dielectric properties of sintered PLT specimen were changed by content of Mn and increacement of sintering temperature. Dissipation factor was improved by increasing of measuring temperature. Curie temperature of sintered PLT specimens was decreased with increasing of Mn additive.

Photocurrent Characteristics of Plasma Sprayed TiO2 Composite Coatings according to Additive Transition Metal (전이금속을 첨가한 플라즈마 TiO2 복합 용사피막의 광전류 특성)

  • In this study, the photocurrent characteristics of plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ coatings have been investigated according to additive transition metal (Fe, Mn, Nb powder) and heat treatment conditions. The plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ coatings by heat treatment at $400^{\circ}C$ and 90 min had the higher photocurrent at ultraviolet light, no photocurrent at visible light. The photocurrent of plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ coatings added by Fe, Mn, Nb (named by plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ composite coatings) was lower than that of plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ coatings at ultraviolet light, as was low in intensity ratio of XRD(101)/(110). and the atomic percentage of oxygen by plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ composite coatings was higher than that by plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ coatings. The photocurrent of plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ composite coatings in heat treatment at $400^{\circ}C$ and 90 min was higher than that of plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ coatings in same heat treatment conditions at ultraviolet and visible light, as was high in oxygen affinity by heat treatment.

Mechanical Properties of the Pressureless Sintered $Al_2O_3-SiC$ Composite(1) : Dispersion Effects of SiC Powder (상압소결 $Al_2O_3-SiC$계 소결체의 기계적 성질 (I) : SiC분말의 분산효과)

  • In order to investigate the effect of second phase on $Al_2O_3$ matrix, SiC particles were dispersed in $Al_2O_3$ matrix as a second phase over the content range of 5 vol.% to 20 vol.%. To this mixture, $Y_2O_3$ or $TiO_2$ powders were added as a sintering additive before isostatically pressing and pressurelessly sintering at 180$0^{\circ}C$ for 90 min in $N_2$ atmosphere. With increasing SiC content, relative densities of composites were decreased but mechanical properties of composites were improvjed. In the case of adding $Y_2O_3$ as a sintering additive, maximum values of flexural strength, hardness and fracture toughness were 525 MPa, 17.1 GPa, 4.1 MPa.m1/2 respectively. In the case of adding X$TiO_2$ as a sintering additive, maximum values of flexural strength, hardness were 285 MPa, 12.1 GPa respectively. Improved mechanical properties were found to be the results of grain growth control of $Al_2O_3$ matrix and crack deflection by the second phase SiC particles.

A Study on the Electrical Properties of Thin Film Type Humidity Sensor (박막형 습도센서의 전기적 특성에 대한 연구)

  • [ $TiO_2-V_2O_5$ ] sol was fabricated using sol-gel method and $TiO_2-V_2O_5$ thin films were fabricated using dip-coating method. $V_2O_5$ sol was added 0.01mole, 0.03mole, 0.05mole into $TiO_2$ sol. As a results of crystalline properties, $V_2O_5$ peaks were not found in spite of $V_2O_5$ additive. Thickness of thin films increased $0.1{\sim}0.25{\mu}m$ every a dipping. Capacitance of thin films increased with increasing heat treatment temperature and it increased largest at $700^{\circ}C$. Capacitance of thin films decreased with increasing $V_2O_5$ additive and it increased largest at 0.01mole. Because adsorption time and desorption time of thin films was about 2 minutes 40 seconds and about 3 minutes 40 seconds respectively, adsorption time was faster about 1 minutes than desorption time.

  • This study shows an air-purification test by the UV lamp on which TiO2 catalyst is deposited with glass fiber in the reactor chamber. This test was based on the fundamental data of air-purifier as assessing a removing ability on various contaminants such as CH3COOH, NH3, NO and SO2 as variation of the TiO2 coating, the wave of UV lamp, and the additive CaO. As a result, the highest decomposing removal ratio was shown when 5-times coated glass fiber was used. It can be due to the recombination reaction of electrons and electron-hole in the loaded CaO. Thus, the decomposing removal ratio increased as the recombination ratio decreased. In addition, it was confirmed that the decomposing removal ratio lowered when CaO was considerably deposited because it hided the lamp of OH-1 radical.

  • The effect of the additive on the dielectric property of TiO2 containing 0-2.5 wt. % ZnO was investigated as a function of frequency $5$\times$10^4$ to $6.3$\times$10^7$ cps and temperature from 25 to 375$^{\circ}C$. The dielectric constant decreased due to increasing density and grain size effect with increasing ZnO concentration.

  • Nonohmic properties of ZnO ceramics with various small amounts of additives were studied in relation to experimental methods, additive contant and sintaring temperature. The kinds of additives used to following chemicals were basic additives ($0.5Bi_2O_3$, $0.3BaCO_3$, $0.5MnCO_3$, $0.5Cr_2O_3$, $0.1KNO_3$), $TiO_2$ and $Al(OH)_3$. Expecially, this study has focused on the effectsof $TiO_2$ and $Al(OH)_3$ in ZnO ceramics with the basic additives. SEM studies indicated that the addition of TiO2 promoted grain growth but retarded grain growth with the addition of $Al(OH)_3$. Also, in the case of calcination of ZnO with $TiO_2$ and ZnO with $Al(OH)_3$ previously, grain size of ZnO with $TiO_2$ was larger and that of ZnO with Al(OH)3 was smaller in comparison to the case with out calcination. From the viewpoint of nonohmic exponent and nonohimic resistance, electrical characteristics of ZnO, $TiO_2$ and the basic additives was more effective than that of ZnO, $Al(OH)_3$ and the basic additives. Nonohmic exponent and nonohmic resistance of ZnO, $TiO_2$ and the basic additives was 11-13 and 40-65 respectively.
