화력발전소에서의 국내 배출계수 산정 방안 연구 -먼지를 중심으로- (Estimating PM Emission Factor from Coal-Fired Power Plants in Korea)

  • In Korea, PM (Particulate Matter) emissions caused by coal-fired power plants are measured by a system, so called Clean Air Policy Support System (CAPSS), which uses foreign emission factors. However, the system fails to reflect the characteristics of domestic power plants. In this regard, this study aims to develop local, accurate domestic emission factors. The study measured the amount of TSP (Total Suspended Particulates), PM10 and PM2.5 by collecting samples from the latter parts of pollution control devices which were installed at 3 bituminous-fired power plants and 3 anthracite-fired power plants. The results showed that the average concentrations of TSP, PM10 and PM2.5 measured at bituminous-fired power plants were 4.63 mg/$Sm^3$, 2.96 mg/$Sm^3$ and 3.07 mg/$Sm^3$ respectively, much higher than those from anthracite-fired power plants (2.96 mg/$Sm^3$, 2.47 mg/$Sm^3$ and 1.37 mg/$Sm^3$, respectively). In addition, bituminous-fired power plants showed higher ratios of PM10/TSP and PM2.5/TSP with 0.66 and 0.92, respectively, compared to 0.82 and 0.46, the ratios of PM10/TSP and PM2.5/TSP measured in anthracite-fired power plants. Emission factors based-on concentration measurements were also higher for bituminous-fired power plants, and PM with smaller particles tended to have bigger difference in emission factors between the two fuels. This study calculated the amount of PM emissions by using the estimated emission factors. When it comes to the PM emissions, it was less than that of CAPSS while similar to that of CleanSYS in its amount. It is expected that the emission factors developed by this study will be used in Korea replacing foreign emission factors currently used in Korea by ensuring the objectivity and reliability as domestic emission factors.

초산과 Trisodium phosphate로 처리한 닭고기의 소매점 판매 및 냉장동안 이화학적 변화 (Physicochemical Changes of Chicken Treated with Acetic Acid and Trisodium Phosphate for Retail and Refrigerated Storage)

  • 본 연구는 2.5-10% (w/v) trisodium phosphate (TSP) 및 0.5-2% (v/v)의 초산 용액에서 10분간 닭고기 (평균 500$\pm$30 g 중량) 다리의 표면을 침지한 다음 소매점(2$\pm$1。C) 및 4oC 냉장 동안 pH, thiobarbituric acid (TBA)가 및 육색에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과이다. 2.5-10% TSP용액의 처리구는 처리 직후 대조구 보다 유의적으로 높은 pH 가를 나타내었으며 5-l0% TSP용액의 처리구는 저장 8일 까지 지속되었다 2.5-10%의 TSP용액의 처리구는 처리직후부터 저장 4일 까지 TBA가의 유의적 증가를 나타내었다. 0.5-2%초산용액의 처리구의 pH가는 처리직후 대조구보다 유의적 감소를 나타내었으며, 1.5-2%초산 처리구는 저장 16일 동안 지속되었다. 0.5-2%초산용액 처리구의 TBA가는 저장 4일 까지 대조구와 유의적 차이를 나타내었으며, 1.5-2%초산용액 처리구는 저장 8일 까지 지속되었다. 0.5-2%초산 용액 처리구의 Hunter color L$^+$ 가는 처리직후 대조구와 유의적 차이가 없었으며, 저장 4일과 12일에는 대조구와 유의적 차이를 나타내었다. 1-2%초산 용액 처리구의 Hunter color a$^+$가는 처리직후부터 저장 16일 동안 대조구와 유의적 차이가 있었다. 0.5-2%초산 용액 처리구의 Hunter color b$^+$ 가는 저장 4일에서 12일 동안 대조구와 유의적 차이가 없었었다.

아궁이 사용에 의한 대기오염물질의 배출 특성 (Emission of Airbone Pollutants from Traditional Korean Fireplace)

  • Emission from the traditional Korean fireplace, or the under-floor heating and cooking device, can contribute significantly to airborne pollutants inventories. This study has systematically measured emissions of airborne pollutants from the fireplace when used different fuels such as firewood, agricultural crop residuals, household wastes. The results show that emission factors of airborne pollutants through the primary combustion of firewood were 3.22 g/kg for TSP, 2.93 g/kg for $PM_{10}$, 2.65 g/kg for $PM_{2.5}$, 174.19 g/kg for CO, 7.77 g/kg for NO, 0.15 g/kg for $SO_2$, 40.53 g/kg for TVOC and 0.03 g/kg for $NH_3$; from burning of agricultural crop residues, 2.85 g/kg for TSP, 1.38 g/kg for $PM_{10}$, 1.14 g/kg for $PM_{2.5}$, 126.47 g/kg for CO, 12.60 g/kg for NO, 0.20 g/kg for $SO_2$, 33.73 g/kg for TVOC and 0.02 g/kg for $NH_3$; and for household wastes, 10.52 g/kg for TSP, 8.52 g/kg for $PM_{10}$, 6.23 g/kg for $PM_{2.5}$, 72.86 g/kg for CO, 11.73 g/kg for NO, 0.20 g/kg for $SO_2$, 47.10 g/kg for TVOC and 0.20 g/kg for $NH_3$.

부산의 대기오염도 조사 (Survey on Ambient Air Quality in Pusan Areas)

  • 부산의 대기오염도를 파악하여 대기오염 저감 대책수립의 자료로 삼아 시민들의 건강증진에 기여하고자 부산의 주 간선도로변 3개지역 (서면, 사상, 대신동)에 대하여 1985년 7월부터 1986년 4월까지 10개월간 계절별 및 일중 일산화탄소, 아황산가스, 이산화질소 및 부유분진의 농도를 측정하여 다음과 같은 성적을 얻었다. 1) 일산화탄소의 연중 평균농도는 사상이 $2.19{\pm}0.52(3.5{\sim}1.0)ppm$으로 최고이었고 대신동이 $1.32{\pm}0.55(3.0{\sim}0.5)ppm$으로 최저이었다. 2) 아황산까스의 연중 평균농도는 사상이 $0.092{\pm}0.073(0.378{\sim}0.028)ppm$으로 최고이었고 대신동이 $0.040{\pm}0.014(0.083{\sim}0.019)ppm$으로 최저이었다. 3) 이산화질소의 연중 평균농도는 서면이 $0.069{\pm}0.012(0.090{\sim}0.050)ppm$으로 최고이었고 대신동이 $0.043{\pm}0.010(0.061{\sim}0.032)ppm$으로 최저이었다. 4)부유분진의 연중 평균농도는 사상이 $300{\pm}130(780{\sim}130){\mu}g/m^3$로 최고이었고 대신동이 $160{\pm}80(390{\sim}70){\mu}g/m^3$로 최저이었다. 5) 일산화탄소와 부유분진의 경우 서면과 대신동에서는 하계에 그리고 사상에서는 동계에 최고이었으며, 아황산까스와 이산화질소는 3지역 공히 동계와 춘계에 최고이었다. 6) 각 오염물질의 일중 평균농도는 오전에 비하여 오후 혹은 야간에 높은 경향을 나타내었다.

2006~2007년 천안시 대기 에어로졸의 입경별 농도 및 이온성분 특성 (Size-segregated mass and ion concentrations of atmospheric aerosols in Cheonan City between 2006 and 2007)

  • 충청남도, 천안시 대기 에어로졸의 입경별 농도 및 이온성분 특성을 분석하고자, 2006년 3월부터 2007년 4월까지 천안시 상명대학교에서 Cascade Impactor를 장착한 High Volume Air Sampler를 이용하여 대기 시료를 채취 분석하였다. 입경별 에어로졸의 일평균농도는 TSP, PM10, PM2.5, PM1이 각각 61.7, 55.2, 43.7, $33.2{\mu}g/m^3$였으며, 직경이 $1{\sim}3{\mu}m$인 영역을 경계로 조대영역과 미세영역으로 나누어지는 전형적인 도심지 특성을 나타냈다. 이 중 미세영역입자인 PM2.5이 전체 에어로졸의 70.8%를 차지하였다. 이들 에어로졸 입자의 성분 분석 결과 양이온은 ${NH_{4}}^+$, $Na^+$, $K^+$, $Ca^{2+}$, $Mg^{2+}$이, 음이온은 ${SO_{4}}^{2-}$, ${NO_{3}}^-$, $Cl^-$가 주요 성분이었으며, 이들 수용성 이온이 차지하는 비율은 조대입자에서 37.4%, 미세입자에서 46.2%였다.

화목 난로와 보일러 사용에 의한 대기오염물질과 블랙카본의 배출 특성 (Emission Characteristics of Air Pollutants and Black Carbon from Wood Stove and Boiler)

  • Manually fed firewood burning appliances, i.e., stove and boiler, were tested in order to determine emission factors (EFs) of macro-pollutants, i.e., carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides, ammonia, particulate matters (total suspended particulate, $PM_{10}$, $PM_{2.5}$, black carbon) and trace pollutants (i.e., ten different volatile organic compounds). The composite pollutants EFs for the wood stove were: for TSP 15.45 g/kg, for $PM_{10}$ 6.53 g/kg, $PM_{2.5}$ 4.16 g/kg, CO 175.49 g/kg, NO 1.58 g/kg, $SO_2$ 0.15 g/kg, TVOC 48.02 g/kg, $NH_3$ 0.02 g/kg and emissions were similar to the wood boiler appliance: for TSP 12.23 g/kg, for $PM_{10}$ 5.84 g/kg, $PM_{2.5}$ 3.66 g/kg, CO 146.74 g/kg, NO 1.42 g/kg, $SO_2$ 0.15 g/kg, TVOC 47.78 g/kg, $NH_3$ 0.01 g/kg.

토양 성분이 입자 특성에 미치는 영향: 제주도 고산에서의 1994년 측정결과 모사 (Effects of Crustal Species on Characteristics of Aerosols: Simulation of Measurements at Kosan, Cheju Island, 1994)

  • Effects of crustal species on the characteristics of ambient particles were studied by applying a gas-particle equilibrium model, SCAPE, to the measurements at Kosan, Cheju Island during the spring and summer, 1994. Two cases were simulated; the measured composition was used without any modification (case 1), and the metal ion concentrations originated from crust were subtracted from the measured particle composition (case 2). Total suspended particles (TSPs) were collected by an automatic high volume tape sampler during spring period and by high volume samplers during summer period. The fine particles, PM 2.5, and gaseous volatile species were collected using a filter pack smapler during summer period. The water soluble ion concentrations were analyzed from all the particle samples. According to the simulation results, the effect of crustal elements on the chemical composition of particles is negligible for both TSP particles and PM 2.5 particles. Acidity of particles measured at Kosan, however, is affected by the change of the concentrations of crustal species, stronger effects for TSP particles than for PM 2.5 particles during summer, and stronger effects during summer than spring for TSP particle. The average pH decrease due to the absence of crustal species was about 0.10 for PM 2.5 particle during summer and 1.51 and 0.85 for TSP particles during summer spring, respectively. Water contents of PM 2.5 particles for both cases are comparable to each other. Estimated water content of TSP particles for case 2 is higher than that for case 1 by about 4 $\sim 6 \mum/m^3$ because salts of metal ions are not hygroscopic.

  • This study was carried out simulating domestic utilization conditions of a wood pellet stove and a wood pellet boiler in order to determine emission factors (EFs) of macro-pollutants, i.e., carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides, ammonia, particulate matters (total suspended particulate, $PM_{10}$, $PM_{2.5}$, black carbon) and trace pollutants (i.e., ten different volatile organic compounds). The composite pollutants EFs for the pellet stove were: for TSP 4.58 g/kg, for $PM_{10}$ 3.35 g/kg, for $PM_{2.5}$ 2.48 g/kg, CO 119.23 g/kg, NO 14.40 g/kg, $SO_2$ 0.17 g/kg, TVOC 37.73 g/kg, $NH_3$ 0.02 g/kg and emissions were similar to the pellet boiler appliance: for TSP 4.73 g/kg, for $PM_{10}$ 3.41 g/kg, for $PM_{2.5}$ 2.63 g/kg, CO 161.51 g/kg, NO 13.67 g/kg, $SO_2$ 0.19 g/kg, TVOC 45.22 g/kg, $NH_3$ 0.02 g/kg.

  • Microbiological and sensory evaluations of chicken wings treated with acetic acid and trisodium phosphate(TSP) during retail(1${\pm}$2$^{\circ}C$) and refrigerated storage(4$^{\circ}C$). Chicken wings(average weight of 15${\pm}$2g per leg) were treated with 0.5∼2% aerobic plate counts(APC) on the surface of chicken wings for storage of 16 days at 4$^{\circ}C$. During storage of 12 days at retail store(1${\pm}$2$^{\circ}C$), the treating chicken wings with 7.5∼10% TSP solutions for 10 min showed significantly inhibitory effect in preventing the growth of aerobic microbes. For odor and appearance scores, chicken wings treated with 0.5∼2% acetic solutions resembled untreated wings for storage of 16 days at 4$^{\circ}C$. However, both odor and appearance scores of chicken wings treated with 2.5∼10% TSP solutions were similar to those of untreated wings for storage of 4 days, and a higher in the storage of beyond 8 to 12 days at retail store.

발파해체현장에서 발생하는 순간분진의 입경분포 특성 (Characteristics of Particle Size Distributions Generated in the Vicinity of Building Blasting Demolition Sites)

  • In building demolition work, major dust-generating activities are blasting concrete and rock. The aim of this study was to find the characteristic of particle size of dusts which were generated during building demolition work using explosion. The DustMate of the Turnkey-Instruments Ltd. was used for particulate size-selective sampling of the four sites. TSP(Total Suspended Particle), PM10(Particle Matter $10{\mu}m$), PM2.5(Particle Matter $2.5{\mu}m$), and PM1.0(Particle Matter $1.0{\mu}m$) were measured during building demolition work using explosion. The large particulate (higher than the diameter $10{\mu}m$) showed to be higher than 50%. The particulate ranged from $10{\mu}m\;to\;2.5{\mu}m$ showed about 30-40%. PM2.5 was not scarcely detected in the samples collected for building demolition work using explosion. We conclude that the dust generated during building demolition work using explosion has not most respirable particulate.
