  • Lpt X be a reduced Stein space and L a holomorphic line bundle on X. L is spanned by its global sections and the associated holomorphic map $h_L\;:\;X{\to}P(H^0(X, L)^{\ast})$ is an embedding. Choose any locally convex vector topology ${\tau}\;on\;H^0(X, L)^{\ast}$ stronger than the weak-topology. Here we prove that $h_L(X)$ is sequentially closed in $P(H^0(X, L)^{\ast})$ and arithmetically Cohen -Macaulay. i.e. for all integers $k{\ge}1$ the restriction map ${\rho}_k\;:\;H^0(P(H^0(X, L)^{\ast}),\;O_{P(H^0(X, L)^{\ast})}(k)){\to}H^0(h_L(X),O_{hL_(X)}(k)){\cong}H^0(X, L^{\otimes{k}})$ is surjective.

Construction of a Lactococcal Shuttle/Expression Vector Containing a $\beta$-Galactosidase Gene as a Screening Marker (선별마커로써 $\beta$-Galactosidase 유전자를 포함한 Lactococcus용 셔틀/발현 벡터 제조)

  • A new lactococcal shuttle/expression vector for lactococci, pWgal13T, was constructed using a $\beta$-galactosi-dase gene (lacZ) from Lacfococcus lactis ssp. lactis ATCC 7962 as a screening marker. The pWgal 13T was introduced into Escherichia coli DH5a and L. lactis MG1363, and was easily detected by the formation of blue colonies on a medium containing X-gal without any false transformants. Also, the quantitatively lacZ activity of pWgal13T was measured in L. lactis ssp. cremoris MG1363, and was found to be four times higher than that of L. lactis ssp. lactis ATCC7962 grown on a medium containing glucose, which shows that the lacZ gene of pWgal13T can be used for the efficient screening of L. lactis on general media. The pWgal13T was equipped with a lactococcal replicon of pWV01 from L. lactis Wg2, the new promoter P13C from L. lactis ssp. cremoris LM0230, multiple cloning sites, and a terminator for the expression of a relevant gene. The vee-tor pWgal13T was used for the expression of the EGFP gene in E. coli and L. lactis. These results show that the lactococcal expression/shuttle vector constructed in the present study can be used for the production of foreign proteins in E. coli and L. lactis.

Influence of Genetic Background on Porcine Stress Syndrome Incidence and Pork Quality Attributes (품종이 Porcine Stress Syndrome 돼지 출현비율 및 육질에 미치는 영향)

  • Landrace(L), Largewhite(Lw), Korean Native Pig(KNP) and commercial hybrid were experimented to determine holothane sensitivity, RYR gene mutation and quality profiles. In the results of halothane test, the incidence of halothane positive pigs was similar between L and Lw. But, the rate of dubious halothane positive type was higher in L than Lw. In hal-gene analysis, halothane-positive pigs(nn) were not found in any tested breed and heterotype(Nn) appeared only in one pig of L. Of the breed effect on the quality profiles, there were no differences in pH$_1$(pH at 1hr postslaughter), but pH$_{u}$(pH at 24hr postslaughter) was significantly higher in commercial hybrid and KNP than other breeds(p〈0.05). Color assessed by National Pork Producers Council(NPPC) and CIE L$^{*}$ was significantly paler in L breed than other breeds(p〈0.05). Significant differences were found in water holding capacity(WHC) and cooking loss in KNP(p〈0.05).

The effect of Vitamin $B_2$ Deficiency on the Utilization and Recuperation of Fuel in Exercising Rats (비타민 $B_2$ 부족이 운동중 연료의 이용과 회복에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of vitamin B2 deficiency on the utilization and recuperation of fuel in exercising rats. Thirthy six rats were fed either a vitamin B2 deficient diet (-B2) or a control diet (+B2) for 3 weeks and then subdivided into 3 groups : non-exercise group(NE), exercise group (ES), exercise and recuperation group (ER). ES group were exercised on treadmill (10$^{\circ}$, 0.5-0.8km/h) for 2 hours and ER group were recuperated three days with the respective diet after exercise. Glucose (GLU), glycogen(GLY), protein(PRO), triglyceride(TG) and free fatty acid(FFA) were compared in plasma(P), liver(L) and skeletal muscle(M) of rats. Compared to + B2 rats, in NE group, the level of P-GLU and L-GLU of -B2 rats was lower, L-PRO and M-GLY was higher and there were no differences in P-PRO, P-FFA, L-TG and M-TG. In ES group, the level of P-GLU was lower, P-FFA was higher and there were no differences in P-PRO, P-TG, L-GLU, L-TG, M-GLY, M-TG and M-PRO. In ER groups, the level of P-GLU and L-TG was lower, P-FFA was higher and there were no differences in P-PRO, P-TG, L-GLY, L-PRO, M-GLY, M-TG and M-PRO. These results suggest that a vitamin B2 deficiency may impair the utilization of stored fuel during exercise suggest that a vitamin B2 deficiency may impair the utilization of stored fuel during exercise and may lead a sluggish recuperation related to fuel stores after exercise.

Optimal Dietary Protein and Lipid Levels for Growth of Juvenile Muddy Loach Misgurnus anguillicaudatus (미꾸리(Misgurnus anguillicaudatus) 치어 성장을 위한 사료의 적정 단백질 및 지질 함량)

  • A feeding trial was conducted to determine the optimum dietary protein and lipid levels for the growth of juvenile muddy loach Misgurnus anguillicaudatus. Eight experimental diets (designated as P20L7, P20L14, P30L7, P30L14, P40L7, P40L14, P50L7 and P50L14) were formulated to contain 20%, 30%, 40% and 50% protein with 7% and 14% lipid. Three replicate groups of muddy loach (1.5 g/fish) were fed one of the experimental diets ad libitum for 8 weeks. Survival of fish fed the P20L14 diet was lower than in other groups (P<0.05). Specific growth rate (SGR) and feed efficiency (FE) of fish were affected by dietary protein (P<0.05) and lipid (P<0.005) levels. SGR and FE of fish tended to decrease with increasing dietary lipid level at the same protein level. There were no significant differences in SGR and FE among fish fed diets containing different protein levels ranging from 30% to 50% with the same lipid level. Whole body moisture and lipid contents were affected by dietary protein and lipid levels. Crude lipid content of fish fed the 14% lipid diets was higher than that of fish fed 7% lipid diets at each protein level. The results of this study indicate that a diet containing 30% protein with 7% lipid would be suitable for the optimum growth and effective feed utilization of juvenile muddy loach.

Identification and Cultivation of Pseudomonas fluorescens Antagonistic to Pseudomonas tolaasii (Pseudomonas tolaasii 길항세균인 Pseudomanas fluorescens의 분리 및 배양)

  • Pseudomanas fluorescens was selected from mushroom and studied in both batch and continuous culture in order to find out optimum conditions for cultivation. P. fluorescens is an aerobic bacterium and antagonistic to Pseudomonas tolaasii which causes blotch disease on the mushroom cap. Cells of P. fluorescens were grown well on medium containing 30g/L of glucose, whereas the growth was inhibited with the glucose concentration at higher than 30g/L. The highest value of specific growth rate and productivity were obtained when using 10g/L of yeast extract. Optimum concentrations of $NH_4Cl$ and $(NH_4)_2SO_4$ for culture were found to be 1.0g/L and 0.1g/L respectively. Optimum concentration of $MgSO_4{\cdot}7H_2O$ used as a sulfur source was 1.0g/L. It was also found that the cell concentrations were at the maximum level when grown on the medium containing 1.0g/L of $KH_2PO_4$ and 0.1g/L of $CaCl_2$. Also, the optimum culture conditions were $30^{\circ}C$ and pH 6.0. Cultivation of P.fluorescens at high initial dissolved oxygen (D.O) value led to a decrease of bacterial productivity in batch culture. Maximum productivity was achieved at 68 for the initial D.O value.

Cultural characteristics of unrecorded species Lentinula spp. in Korea (국내 미기록 표고속 종들(Lentinula spp.)의 배양적 특성)

  • The culture condition of unrecorded species L. aciculospora, L. boryana and L. raphanica was investigated with recorded species of L. edodes as the control group in order to analyze diversity and examed relations of the species belong to Lentinula. The optimal temperature and media for the mycelial growth of L. aciculospora and L. boryana were $22^{\circ}C$ and PDA, MCM medium. L. raphanica was $28^{\circ}C$ and ME1 medium. Each of L. aciculospora, L. boryana, L. raphanica is pH 6, pH 7, pH 5 in the optimal pH respectvely. The optimal carbon and nitrogen source of L. aciculospora were glucose and malt extract. That of L. boryana was glucose and urea that of L. raphanica was sucrose and potassium nitrate. The optimal vitamin of L. aciculospora was Myo-inositol. That of L. boryana and L. raphanica were Riboflabin.

  • For an odd prime p, n=4k and $d=((p^2k+1)/2)^2$, there are $(p^{2k}+1)/2$ distinct decimated sequences, s(dt+1), $0{\leq}l<(p^{2k}+1)/2$, of a p-ary m-sequence, s(t) of period $p^n-1$. In this paper, it is shown that the cross-correlation function between s(t) and s(dt+l) takes the values in $\{-1,-1{\pm}\sqrt{p^n},-1+2\sqrt{p^n}\}$ and their, cross-correlation distribution is also derived.

The Preparation of Fermented Milk from Milk and Fruit Juices (우유와 과즙을 이용한 발효유의 제조)

  • Gel-type fermented milk was prepared from milk or mixture of milk and apple juice/grape juice. Acid production (pH change) and growth of Lactobacillus acidophilus (KCTC 2182) were studied. The effects of juice addition on sensory property of fermented milk were also studied. The pH value of samples containing mixture of milk and apple juice/grape juice (25 mL : 25 mL to 5 mL : 45 mL) was lower than that of milk sample. However, number of viable cells of L. acidophilus at 21 hr in milk and samples containing juices was similar. During lactic fermentation for 24 hr, pH of all samples dropped significantly between 6 hr and 21 hr. pH values of mixture of milk and juices were lower than that of milk sample. Growth curve showed that lag phase continued to approximately 3 hr and log phase continued to approximately 15 hr in all samples. Number of viable cells in all samples was similar Sensory evaluation showed that overall acceptability of fermented milk prepared from apple juice/grape juice and milk (15 mL : 35 mL or 5 mL : 45 mL) was better than that of reference sample. The optimum ratio of mixture of juice and milk was 15 mL : 35 mL. The score values of sensory test of fermented milk prepared from mixture of grape juice and milk were slightly higher than those of mixture of apple juice and milk.

  • In this paper, we introduce the concepts of multiple $L_p$ analytic Fourier-Feynman transform ($1{\leq}p$ < ${\infty})$ and a convolution product of functionals on abstract Wiener space and verify the existence of the multiple $L_p$ analytic Fourier-Feynman transform for functionls in the Fresnel class. Moreover, we verify that the Fresnel class is closed under the $L_p$ analytic Fourier-Feynman transformation and the convolution product, respectively. And we establish some relationships among the multiple $L_p$ analytic Fourier-Feynman transform and the convolution product on the Fresnel class.
