고속도강의 미세조직에 미치는 합금원소 및 수직원심주조 조건의 영향 (Influence of Vertical Centrifugal Casting (V.C.C) Conditions and Alloying Elements on Microstructures of High Speed Steel)

  • The HSS consists of hard carbide and matrix of martensite, and so its characteristics of wear resistance, fracture resistance, and surface roughness are good. This study was undertaken to investigate the influence of Nb and V and manufacturing conditions on microstructural behaviors and characteristics in the HSS cylindrical specimens(90 $mm^{O.D.}$ ${\times}$ 60 $mm^{I.D.}$ ${\times}$ 50 $mm^H$) manufactured using VCC(Vertical Centrifugal Casting). In the specimen of Fe-2C-6Cr-1.5W-3Mo-4V alloy, the amount of MC carbide was increased and $M_7C_3$ carbide was decreased with the increase of V and Nb contents. The primary VC carbide was formed and followed by the rod-type eutectic MC carbide was formed in the cell boundary in 9%V added specimen. MC carbide was increased, and $M_7C_3$ carbide was decreased with the addition of Nb content. In the specimen containing more than 3%Nb, primary NbC carbide was formed within the cell of matrix. With increase in rpm, cell and carbides became fine, and amount of carbide $M_7C_3$ was decreased due to increase in cooling rate.

Oxide Nanolayers Grown on New Ternary Ti Based Alloy Surface by Galvanic Anodizing-Characteristics and Anticorrosive Properties

  • Film of new Ti-15Zr-5Nb alloy formed during galvanic anodizing in orthophosphoric acid solution was characterized by optical microscope, scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), and Raman micro-spectroscopy. Its anticorrosive properties were determined by electrochemical techniques. The film had a layer with nanotube-like porosity with diameters in 500-1000 nm range. The nano layer contained significant amounts of P and O as well as alloying element. Additionally, Raman micro-spectroscopy identified oxygen as oxygen ion in $TiO_2$ anatase and phosphorous as $P_2O_7{^{4-}}$ ion in phosphotitanate compound. All potentiodynamic polarization curves in artificial Carter-Brugirard saliva with pH values (pH= 3.96, 7.84, and 9.11) depending on the addition of 0.05M NaF revealed nobler behavior of anodized alloy and higher polarization resistance indicating the film is thicker and more compact nanolayer. Lower corrosion rates of the anodized alloy reduced toxicity due to less released ions into saliva. Bigger curvature radii in Nyquist plot and higher phase angle in Bode plot for the anodized alloy ascertain a thicker, more protective, insulating nanolayer existing on the anodized alloy. Additionally, ESI results indicate anodized film consists of an inner, compact, barrier, layer and an outer, less protective, porous layer.

Effect of NiO on Microstructure and Properties of PMN-PT-BT Ceramics Prepared by Mixed Oxide Method

  • Effects of NiO were studied in aspects of dielectric properties and microstructure of $0.96(0.91Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-0.09PbTiO_3)­0.04BaTiO_3$ (PMN-PT-BT, PBT). The PBT was prepared by a conventional mixed oxide method using $(MgCO_3)_4{\cdot}Mg(OH)_2$ instead of MgO through Lewis acid-base interaction. NiO was added in the range of 0.5 to $3.0\;wt\%$ as thermally decomposable $2NiCO_3{\cdot}3Ni(OH)_2$ and it seemed to enhance densification to a large extent below $1000^{\circ}C$. But all the systems gave rise to ceramics with almost same relative sintered density of 96% by sintering at $1000^{\circ}C$ for 2 h. But it turned out that the addition of NiO was detrimental to dielectric constant but beneficial to the loss of dielectric constant.

액상천이공정에 의한 PZTN의 저온소결에 관한 연구 (Low Temperature Sintering of PZTN by the Liquid Phase Transient Processing)

  • Transient liquid phase processing was investigated to decrease processing temperatures while maintaining useful piezoelectric properties in the lead zirconate titanate (PZT) system. Niobium oxide$(Nb_2O_5)$ modified crystalline PZT (PZTN) powder was combined with lead silicate $(PS; PbO-SiO_2)$ glass powder and crystalline titania, zirconia, and niobia. Firing above the melting temperature of the lead silicate $(PS; Tm \risingdotseq\; 714^{\circk}C)$ resulted in liquid phase densification of the PZTN followed by dissolution of the titania, zirconia, and niobia into the liquid phase, and crystallization of additional PZTN. The addition of crystalline titania, zirconia, and niobia to react with the lead oxide from the lead silicate phase resulted in an increase in the dielectric and Piezoelectric properties.

t-ZrO$_2$/Al$_2$O$_3$복합체 상 안정성에 대한 Eu$_2$O$_3$첨가 효과 (Effect of EuO$_3$addition on hydrothermal stability of t-ZrO$_2$/Al$_2$O$_3$composites)

  • 생체적합성과 상 안정성이 우수한 t-$ZrO_2/Al_2O_3$복합체에 $Eu_2O_3$을 0~4 mol%첨가한 복합체를 $1600^{\circ}C$ 온도에서 1 시간 소결하여 상 안정성, 색상변화, 기계적 특성을 조사하였다. $180^{\circ}C$, 3.5MPa의 수증기 압력 하에서 20시간 열처리 후 X-선 회절법으로 관찰한 결과 $Eu_2O_3$가 첨가된 (Y,Nb,Eu)-TZP/$Al_2O_3$복합체는 우수한 상 안정성이 유지되었다. $Eu_2O_3$의 양이 증가함에 따라 백색계통의 상아색에서 미색의 핑크색으로 서서히 변화하였다 $Eu_2O_3$가 3 mol%까지 첨가된 복합체의 경우 620MPa, 7.6MPa.$m^{1/2}$ 이상의 강도와 인성값이 관찰되었다.

  • Lead-free Piezoelectric $[Li_{0.04}(Na_{0.44}K_{0.56})](Nb_{0.88}Ta_{0.1}Sb_{0.02})$ (abbreviated as NKNLTS) has been synthsized by conventional mixed oxide method traditional ceramics process without cold-isostatic pressing. Effect of $Bi_2O_3$ addition on NKNLTS ceramics was investigated. Piezoelectric properties of the ceramic were varied with the amount of $Bi_2O_3$ addition and showed the maximum Kp value at 0.4wt% $Bi_2O_3$ addition. The results show that the optimum poling condition for NKNLTS ceramics of 3.5kV/mm, poling temperature of $120^{\circ}C$ and poling time of 30min. At the sintering temperature of $1100^{\circ}C$ and the calcination temperature $800^{\circ}C$, the optimal values of density=$4.7g/cm^2$, Kp=0.44, $\varepsilon_r$=1309 were obtained. Consequently, lead free piezoelectric ceramics with the excellent piezoelectric could be fabricated using a conventional mixed oxide process and the optimal manuacturing condition of those was obtained.

  • Relaxor 유전체 물질인 PMN-PT-BT를 modified mixed oxide 공정과 단일 하소로 페로브스카이트 단일상으로 제조할 수 있는 공정을 시도하였다. PbO, Nb2O5, BaCO3 와 $TiO_2$ 대신 $Ti(OC_3H_7)_4$를, MgO 대신 $Mg(NO_3)_2$을 사용하여 볼밀로 혼합한 후 건조된 분말을 900$^{\circ}C$/2시간 하소하고, 이어서 1100$^{\circ}C$/2시간 열처리하여 얻은 소결체는 소결 밀도 7.83 g/$cm^3$, 실온 유전율 22000, 유전손실 2.5%의 우수한 유전 특성을 나타내었다. 소결조제로 Ag을 $AgNO_3$로 1.0 몰%(0.3wt%) 첨가한 경우 550$^{\circ}C$/2시간 하소한 분말은 900$^{\circ}C$/2시간 열처리로 소결밀도 7.88 g/$cm^3$, 실온 유전율 20000, 유전손실 2.4%을 나타내었다.

  • Acoustic emission (AE) signal from an HTS tape has a low signal to noise ratio, due to the large amount of noise caused by the boiling of the liquid cryogen or mechanical vibration from the cryo-cooler. In an attempt to improve the sensitivity of the AE sensor, $Pb(Zr_{0.54}Ti_{0.46})O_3$ + 0.2 wt% $Cr_2O_3$ + 1.0 wt.% $Nb_2O_5$ ceramics sintered at $1200^{\circ}C$ was synthesized. In addition, the resonance ($f_r$) and anti-resonance frequencies ($f_a$) were measured using the specimens with various thicknesses (1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 mm). According to the test results, large AE signals with high frequencies were obtained from the AE sensor fabricated using a piezoelectric disc with a thinner thickness.

  • Microstructures and dielectric properties of (Sr$_{1-x}$ .Ca$_{x}$)TiO$_{3}$+0.006Nb$_{2}$O$_{5}$ (0.05.leq.x.leq.0.2) ceramic were investigated. The specimens fired in a reducing atmosphere(N$_{2}$) were painted on the surface with CuO paste, and then annealed at 1100.deg. C for 2 hr. SEM and EDAX revealed that CuO penetrated rapidly into the bulk along the grain boundaries during the annealing. Grain size increased with increasing Ca content up to 15[mol%], but decreased with further addition. In the specimens with 10-15[mol%l of Ca, excellent dielectric properties were obtained as follows; dielectric constant <25000, dielectric loss(tan .delta[%]) <0.3[%] and capacitance change rate with temperature <.+-.[%], respectively. All the specimens in this study exhibited dielectric relaxation with frequency as a function of the temperature. The dispersive frequency was over 10$^{6}$ [Hz].z].

직접 소입 저탄소 비조질강의 기계적 성질에 미치는 몰리브덴의 영향 (Effect of Molybdenum Addition on the Mechanical Properties of Direct-Quenched Low-Carbon Non-Treated Steels)

  • 공냉에 의한 중탄소 비조질강은 페라이트와 펄라이트의 미세구조를 갖는다. 기존의 조질강과 비교하여 이재료는 V, Nb, Ti을 첨가하여 강도는 거의 동등한 반면 인성에 있어서 조질강에 비해 취약하다. 본 연구에서는 직접 소입 저탄소 비조질강의 기계적 성질에 미치는 몰리브덴의 영향을 조사하였다. 몰리브덴 첨가 직접 소입 비조질강은 고강도와 고인성을 나타내었다. 몰리브덴은 변태 온도를 저하시켜 미세한 구조와 균일한 석출 구조를 효과적으로 생성시킨ㄷ. 본 실험의 결과로 0.15C+0.11V+0.035Nb+1.81Mo의 재료를 유냉시켜 121MPo의 강도와 127.5J의 인성을 얻었다.
