북한의 중공업 부문 대기오염물질 배출량 추정 (Estimation of air pollutant emissions from heavy industry sector in North Korea)

  • This study aims to estimate the amount of air pollutants emitted from heavy industry facilities in North Korea. To compare the emission in 2017 from the heavy industry sector in North Korea with South Korea, the heavy industry sector was classified with the South Korean classification (Matching Heavy Industry sector) and air pollutant emissions by Matching Heavy Industry sector in North Korea were estimated. The CO, NOx and SOx emissions of Matching Heavy Industry sector in North Korea are 22%, 73%, and 31% of the emission in South Korea, respectively. The air pollutant emissions in the Matching Heavy Industry sector in North Korea for CO, NOx and SOx were 0.6%, 124%, and 24% of the total air pollutant emission in North Korea estimated from EDGAR, respectively. As for the distribution of emissions by administrative district of the Matching Heavy Industry sector in North Korea, NOx was concentrated in the western part of North Korea, and CO and SOx emissions were concentrated in Hamgyong-bukto.

신재생에너지의 확산이 대기오염 배출 저감에 미치는 영향 분석 (Analysis on Impacts of Renewable Energy Promotion on Mitigation of Air Pollution)

  • This study analyzed whether the diffusion of new and renewable energy contributed to mitigating emissions of various air pollutants, including particulate matter, using panel econometric models. The theoretical foundation of such econometric models is based on the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis, which assumes an inverted U-shaped relation between national income and environmental pollution, as originally proposed by Grossman and Krueger. We examined whether there are inverted U-, U-shaped, or N-shaped relations between national income and air pollution. We demonstrate that increases in new and renewable energy significantly mitigated emissions of CO, NOX, and PM2.5. Additionally, we included NOX, SOX, PM10, and VOCs as secondary emission sources of PM2.5 and found that emission of PM10 resulted in the highest PM2.5 emissions, followed by NOX and SOX emissions. The impact of new and renewable energy on air pollution varied across regions. Increase of new and renewable energy in the Honam region significantly mitigated CO, NOX, and TSP emissions, while that in the Youngnam and metropolitan areas did not significantly mitigate air pollution overall. There was a U-shaped relationship between air pollution and national income for CO, NOX, PM2.5, and SOX, while an inverted N-shape was observed for PM10.

  • Lean-rich combustion system was composed both fuel-lean and fuel-rich flame at once. Each of fuel-lean and fuel-rich combustion types to reduce Thermal $NO_x$ and obtain flame stability. This study was confirmed a stability of flame through variation of flame shape that EGR was applied and compared the emission characteristics of EGR lean-rich combustion system to normal premixed combustion system at real condition to review a utility of the system. As a result, emission index of $NO_x$ and CO generated from EGR lean-rich combustion system at global equivalence ratio is 0.85 just half level($NO_x$ 0.31 g/kg, CO 0.08g/kg) compared to the amount generated from normal premixed combustion system at equivalence ratio is 0.78.

  • Identification of the Actinomycetes isolate strain No. 1372, a producer of Actinomycin X$_{2}$ was performed by using ISP method.l The strain, designated as No. 1372, was identified as Streptomyces floridae based on its morphological, physiological and biochemical characteristics. The highest production of the antibiotics by the strain was achieved in a fermentation medium containing soluble starch, yeast extract, (NH$_{4}$)SO$_{4}$, K$_{2}$HPO$_{4}$, NaCl$_{2}$, CaCO$_{3}$, and trace element.

가솔린자동차의 유효방전에너지와 배기가스와의 상관관계 연구 (A Study on Correlation of Effective Discharge Energy and Exhaust Emission of Gasoline Vehicle)

  • The experiment was done on traveling at the speed of 20km/h, 60km/h and 100km/h using the performance testing mode for chassis dynamometer. The experimental method were employed to measure the waveform of secondary ignition coil and exhaust emission. In this experiment, the correlation between the secondary waveform coming from ignition coil and exhaust emission were measured in decrepit vehicle. The secondary waveform characterized by the value of effective discharge energy. The following results are obtained by analyzing the data relativity between the effective discharge energy and exhaust emission. The variation rate of effective discharge energy was largest 60km/h, 20km/h, 100km/h velocity in the ordered named. As the vehicle velocity increases, the average variation rate of CO and $NO_X$ decreases and that of HC and $CO_2$ decrease. The value of effective discharge energy, CO, $NO_X$ and fuel consumption is measured badly in case of car with failures in MAP, spark plug and good in case of car with before and after maintenance regardless of vehicle velocities. The value of effective discharge energy is to be nearly parabolic shape as vehicle velocity increases. As the value of effective discharge energy increases, the value of $NO_X$, HC and $CO_2$ decrease, the value of CO increase. The most sensible factors of exhaust emission were CO, $NO_X$, and the small variation factors were HC, $CO_2$.

Exhaust Gas Recirculation/Water Injection Experimental Results for NOx Emission Reduction in Diesel Engine

  • This paper presents the static characteristics of EGR-WI combined system. The water injection system was statically characterized by recording the engine exhaust outlet $NO_x$ emissions for comparison with baseline $NO_x$ emissions. Effects of the water injection system on CO and HC emissions and fuel consumption were examined. The research engine used for these experiments was a 103 kW turbocharged, intercooled, 2.5 L VM Motori CIDI engine equipped with a cooled EGR system. Water injection in the intake system demonstrated the potential for significant reductions in engine outlet $NO_x$ emissions. The system has reduced engine outlet $NO_x$ emissions by 40-50%, but caused significant increases in CO and HC emissions, particularly at low loads. Fuel consumption effects were minimal.

  • 펄스 마그네트론 스퍼터링법을 이용하여 Co농도 변화에 따라 유리 기판 위에 ZnJ-xcoxo 박막을 제조하였다. Co 농도의 증가에 따라 $Zn_{1-x}Co_{x}O$ 박막의 c축 결정 배향성은 향상되었다. 표면 형상 분석을 통하여 매우 치밀한 박막이 성장되었음을 찰 수 있었다. 박막의 UV-visible투과율 측정 결과, $Co^{2+}$ 이온에 의한 sp-d상호교환 작용과 d-d 천이를 확인할 수 있었다. $Zn_{1-x}Co_{x}O$ 박막의 비저항은 $10^{-2}\~10^{-3}\;\Omega{\cdot}cm$의 값을 가지며 Co농도의 증가에 따라 박막의 비저항은 증가하였고, 특히 $30\;at\%$ Co에서는 박막의 결정성 저하로 인하여 급격한 비저항 증가가 발생하였다. X-ray photoelecoon specooscopy분석을 통해 Co와 O 간의 결합 상태를 확인하였으며, alternating gradient magnetometer측정 결과 $Zn_{1-x}Co_{x}O$ 박막의 상온 강자성 치력 현상을 관찰할 수 있었다. 낮은 비저항 및 상온 강자성 이력 특성을 갖는 $Zn_{1-x}Co_{x}O$ 박막은 자성 반도체 소자로의 응용 가능성을 나타내었다 .

영상처리 기술을 이용한 연소상태 진단 (Flame Diagnosis using Image Processing Technique)

  • Recent trend changes a criterion for evaluation of burner that environmental problem is raised as global issue. For efficient driving problem, the higher thermal efficiency and the lower oxygen in exhaust gas, burner is evaluated the better. For environmental problem, burner must satisfy $NO_{X}$ limit and CO limit. Consequently, 'good burner' means on whose thermal efficiency is high under the constraint of $NO_{X}$ and CO consistency. To make existing burner satisfy recent criterion, it is highly recommended to develop feedback control scheme whose output is the consistency of $NO_{X}$ and CO. This paper describes development of real time flame diagnosis technique that evaluate and diagnose combustion state such as consistency of components in exhaust gas, stability of flame in quantitative sense. This study focuses on wave length of luminescence from chemical reaction measurement of the luminescence via optical measuring apparatus and derive correlation with consistency of components in exhaust gas by image processing technique.

  • New concept of LNG-FPSO ship with moonpool and bilge step in bottom is considered and investigated in the point of motion reduction and sloshing phenomena of the cargo and operation tanks. The cargo capacity of the ship of which principle dimensions is L x B x D x t(design) =270.0 x 51.0 x 32.32 x 13.7(m) 16K at 98% loading condition. The two moonpools and rectangular step at bilge part are setted up specially for getting the effect of motion decrease. For the motion analysis, linearized three dimensional diffraction theory with the simplified boundary conditions is used. The six-degree of freedom coupled motion responses are calculated for the LNG-FPSO ship. Viscous effects on the roll motion responses of a vessel are taken into account in this calculation program using an empirical formula suggested by Ikeda, Himeno and Tanaka is used. The case study for the moonpool size had been carried out by theoretical estimation and experimental method. For the optimization of the moonpool size and effect of the step, 9 cases of its size and with and without step are considered. From the results of calculation and experiment, it can be concluded that this designed LNG-FPSO ship have possibility to carry out her missions in the rough sea as for the owner's demand waves condition. The motion responses, especially roll motion, for the designed LNG-FPSO ship are much lower than those of another drillship and shuttle tanker and limit criterions are satisfied. For the check of the cargo tank and operation tank sizes we have performed sloshing analysis in the irregular waves which focuses on the pressure distribution on the tank wall and the time history of pressure and free surface for No.2 and No5. tanks of LNG-FPSO with chamfers. Finally we got the tank size which has no resonance and no impact pressure in all filling in the bow quartering and beam sea.

SnO2를 이용한 CO 및 NOx 가스 감지 센서 제작 및 특성 연구 (Fabrication and Evaluation of the SnO2 Based Gas Sensor for CO and NOx Detection)

  • In this paper, we fabricated and evaluated the gas sensor for the detection of CO gas and $NO_X$ gas among the vehicle exhaust emission gasses. The $SnO_2$ (tin dioxide) layer is used as the detection material, and the thin-film type and the nano-fiber type layers are deposited with various thicknesses using sputtering method and electro spinning method, respectively. The experiments are performed in the chamber where the gas concentration is controlled with mass flow controller. The fabricated devices are applied to the CO and $NO_X$ gas, where the device with the thinner $SnO_2$ layer shows better sensitivity. The nano-fiber has the larger surface area, and the shorter response time and recovery time are obtained. From the experimental results, both types of gas sensors successfully detect CO and $NO_X$ gases, which can be applied to measure those gases from the vehicle emissions.
