싸이리스타 소자의 직렬연결형 고전압 스위치스택 개발 (Development of High Voltage Switch Stack with Thyristors Stacked in Series)

  • Semiconductor devices can be series stacked for the application of high voltage switching. It can provide high reliability and long lifetime by the safe design with a reasonable margin. The equal voltage distribution at solid-state switches in series should be guaranteed. Static and dynamic voltage division, over current protection must be considered carefully in the design stage. A fast switching thyristor is a good candidate for the high power pulse applications. A high voltage switching module is designed and tested. Its specifications are working voltage of 70 kV, switching pulse width of 120${\mu}s$, peak switching current of 220A, maximum repetition rate of 200pps. The module can be series connected to get higher working voltage. This paper presents the design details and the test results are compared with expected circuit simulations.

전력용 반도체 소자를 적용한 하이브리드 초전도 한류기 동작 신뢰도 향상 (Reliability Enhancement of Hybrid Superconducting Fault Current Limiter adopting Power Electric Device)

  • The current limiting characteristics of hybrid SFCL with additional power electronic devices was investigated in order to improve operation reliabilities. The hybrid SFCL developed consists of a superconducting trigger (S/T) part, a fast switch (F/S) module and a current limiting (C/L) part. Although hybrid SFCL had shown a excellent current limiting characteristics, this device was rather vulnerable to the residual arc currents which could exist during fast switch operation. This undesirable arc should be extinguished as quickly as possible in order to implement perfect fault current commutation. So, in order to eliminate the residual arcs between fast switch contacts, the power electronic devices (IGBT or GTO) were connected in series between the S/T part and the interrupter of the F/S module. According to the fault tests conducting with an input voltage of $270\;V_{rms}$ and a fault current of $5\;kA_{rms}$, The power electronic devices could perfectly remove the arc generated between the contacts of the interrupter within 4 ms after the fault occurred. From the test analysis, it was confirmed that the hybrid SFCL could enhance the operation reliability by adopting additional power electronic devices.

  • 현재 군부대 신병훈련소 및 경찰훈련, 서바이벌 게임장에 적용된 전술훈련시스템은 개활지 및 야지에서 별도의 훈련시스템이 없는 재래식 훈련 방식을 통한 훈련으로서, 실질적인 전장 상황 묘사에 따른 훈련성과를 기대하기 어렵다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 현재 사용되고 있는 전술훈련시스템의 문제점을 개선하고, 고성능 MICOM을 탑재한 PCB를 이용하여 센서 감지, PC와 연동을 무선으로 제어하는 컨트롤러 및 실시간 전술훈련 평가 모니터링 시스템을 개발하고 GUI방식의 전술훈련 평가시스템을 설계 했다. 전술훈련 평가시스템은 센서 컨트롤 모듈과 전술훈련시스템을 원격으로 통제하고 훈련병들의 행동요령에 따른 훈련을 평가할 수 있고, 전술 훈련 시스템을 위한 센서 컨트롤러는 센서입력포트에 반사형 및 투과형 등을 상황에 맞게 선택적으로 설치할 수 있으며, 전장상황 묘사를 위한 24V 하드웨어 구동 모듈이다.

6.6kV급 초전도 저항형 한류기 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of 6.6kV Resistive Superconducting Fault Current Limiters)

  • In order to anticipate gradual increase of fault current in electric power systems, current limiting technology and current limiting device has been investigated for a long time. But the commercial use of current limiting device was delayed due to the lack of effective method to insert impedance to the elective power systems without loss and surplus defects. However, novel current limiting device, which use superconducting materials, was considered as a dream technology to be applied in a distribution and transmission lines. LG Industrial systems and KERPI started to investigate resistive type superconducting fault current limiters in order to develop 154kV fault current limiters and this year, we succeed to test 3 phase 6.6kV/200A fault current limiters. Based on these achievements, 24kV superconducting fault current limiters will be realized withing 3 years which could be tested in a real fields. In this paper, the developments of fault current limiting module which use YBCO thin films, cryogenic systems, the structure and construction of 3 phase fault current limiters and finally the test results of 6.6kV superconducting fault current limiters will be introduced.

Estimation of Water Quality of Fish Farms using Multivariate Statistical Analysis

  • In this research, we have attempted to estimate the water quality of fish farms in terms of parameters such as water temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, and salinity by employing observational data obtained from a coastal ocean observatory of a national institution located close to the fish farm. We requested and received marine data comprising nine factors including water temperature from Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Administration. For verifying our results, we also established an experimental fish farm in which we directly placed the sensor module of an optical mode, YSI-6920V2, used for self-cleaning inside fish tanks and used the data measured and recorded by a environment monitoring system that was communicating serially with the sensor module. We investigated the differences in water temperature and salinity among three areas - Goheung Balpo, Yeosu Odongdo, and the experimental fish farm, Keumho. Water temperature did not exhibit significant differences but there was a difference in salinity (significance <5%). Further, multiple regression analysis was performed to estimate the water quality of the fish farm at Keumho based on the data of Goheung Balpo. The water temperature and dissolved-oxygen estimations had multiple regression linear relationships with coefficients of determination of 98% and 89%, respectively. However, in the case of the pH and salinity estimated using the oceanic environment with nine factors, the adjusted coefficient of determination was very low at less than 10%, and it was therefore difficult to predict the values. We plotted the predicted and measured values by employing the estimated regression equation and found them to fit very well; the values were close to the regression line. We have demonstrated that if statistical model equations that fit well are used, the expense of fish-farm sensor and system installations, maintenances, and repairs, which is a major issue with existing environmental information monitoring systems of marine farming areas, can be reduced, thereby making it easier for fish farmers to monitor aquaculture and mariculture environments.

  • The two-transformer full bridge (TTFB) PWM converter has two transformers which act as the output inductor as well as the main transformer, i.e. as the forward and the flyback transformer. Although the doubled leakage inductor of the TTFB makes it easier to achieve the zero-voltage switching (ZVS) of the lagging leg switch along the wide load range, it instigates a serious voltage ringing in the secondary rectifier diodes, which would require the dissipative snubber circuit, cause the serious power dissipation, and increase the voltage stress across those diodes. To overcome these problems, a, new lossless diode-clamp rectifier (LDCR) is employed as the output rectifier, which helps the voltage across rectifier diodes to be clamped on a half the output voltage $(V_o/2)$ or the output voltage $(V_o)$. Therefore, no dissipative snubber for rectifier diodes is needed and a high efficiency as well as low noise output voltage can be realized. The operations, analysis and design consideration of proposed converter are presented in this paper. To verify the validity of the proposed converter, experimental results from a 425W, 385-170Vdc prototype for the plasma display panel (PDP) sustaining power module (PSPM) are presented.

다중에너지 영상 획득을 위한 Depth-Encoding 고분해능 단일광자단층촬영 검출기 개발: 몬테칼로 시뮬레이션 연구 (Development of a High Resolution SPECT Detector with Depth-encoding Capability for Multi-energy Imaging: Monte Carlo Simulation)

  • 본 연구에서는 I-125 (35 keV) 와 Tc-99m (140 keV)에 대해 고해상도를 지닌 SPECT 영상을 동일한 검출기로 획득하는 방법을 제시하였고, 이를 몬테칼로 시뮬레이션 코드인 DETECT2000과 GATE를 이용하여 검증하였다. 제안된 검출기는 두께 3.0 mm의 CsI (Tl) 블록형 섬광체와 하마마츠사의 H8500C PSPMT로 이루어져 있다. 35 keV 감마선을 방출하는 I-125 핵종을 영상화할 때는 두꺼운 섬광체를 사용 할 경우, 일반적인 앵거방법으로는 빛 퍼짐이 많아지기 때문에 내인성 공간분해능이 저하되지만, 최대우도 함수와 색인테이블을 사용하여 감마선 반응 위치를 추적하면 내인성 공간분해능을 향상시킬 수 있다. DETECT2000 시뮬레이션 결과 1.0 mm 이내의 내인성 공간분해능을 획득하였다. 140 keV를 방출하는 Tc-99m를 영상화할 경우에는 I-125 전용인 1.0 mm 두께의 섬광체를 사용하였을 경우보다 3.0 mm 두께의 섬광체를 사용하였을 때 2.3배 이상 향상된 민감도를 보였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 검출기의 장점은 저에너지의 I-125 선원에 대해 상대적으로 두꺼운 섬광체를 사용하더라도 최대우도함수를 사용하기 때문에 분해능의 감소가 없다는 점과 Tc-99m 선원에 대해 민감도의 저하가 적다는 점이다. 본 연구에서 제안한 검출기를 사용하면 고에너지와 저에너지를 가진 핵종을 모두 영상화할 수 있다.

  • We introduce 2[MVA] 3300[V] 7-level voltage source inverter system developed by POSCON and describe the main characteristics of inverter system i.e. PWM converter, H-bridge power module, phase shifted carrier PWM The PWM converter is a three-phase boost converter, which operates in a 4-quadrant and in a nearly unit displacement power factor. Experimental waveforms are also presented to verify the proposed method and performance of the developed system.

  • The solar energy is purity and infinity. Solar power converter were used to convert the electrical energy from the solar arrays to a stable and reliable power source. So many countries research this solar energy system The photovoltaic system is construct many solar cell array. In this paper, new implementation solar system was showed buck converter that V-I curve produced. This system can be used to study the short-term and long-term performances of solar cell and efficiency. This system is a far more cost effective and reliable replacement for field and outdoor flight testing. Study of buck converter, analysis and control series or parallels connection characteristics of solar cell way.

  • Fairchild has been developing a new class IPM called SPM consisting of dramatic Packaging technology to achieve the lowest cost rind better performance for low power home appliances and industrial AC drive applications. The first Fairchild SPM development with IGBT 600V/15A for washing machine application started in 1999 and was completed successfully. Fairchild SPMs are going to be the best solution for low power inverter-driven AC drive system after 2001. The new SPM Packages like SPM ∥ and SPIM for the next generation IPM with the highest competitiveness (cost & performance) shall be continuouslly developed.
