리튬이온이 첨가된 프루시안 블루의 전기변색 특성 연구 (Electrochromic Properties of Li+-Modified Prussian Blue)

  • [ $Li_+$ ]를 기반으로 하는 비수용액 전해질에서 Prussian blue가 degradation이 없이 구동할 수 있도록 소재를 design하고 제조하여 전기화학적 변색특성을 연구하였다. Prussian blue는 ITO가 코팅되어 있는 유리판위에 일정전류-전착법으로 코팅을 했고, 이 때 사용된 코팅 용액은 $FeCl_3,\;K_3Fe(CN)_6$을 deionized water에 녹이고, HCl, KCl, LiCl을 각각 넣었다. 전기화학적 변색특성을 비교하기 위해 continuous와 pulse potential cycle 하는 동안 transmittance 변화를 in-situ He-Ne laser를 이용하여 측정하였고, electroactive layer thickness를 통해 degradation된 정도를 실험하였다.

낙동강 수계에 대한 정수처리공정에서 응집공정의 DOC 제거 특성 (Characteristics of DOC Removal by Coagulation Process in the Water Treatment of Nakdong River)

  • This study was carried out to derive the removal characteristics of target materials(DOC and turbidity) during the coagulation process after the injection of coagulants(PACl and FeCl3). Used apparatus were a jar test and a pilot plant. A great portion of DOC among the total removed DOC was achieved at the slow mixing process among the coagulation process. The ranges of removed DOC and optimum pH for each coagulant were 0.45~1.47mg/l and 6.0~6.5 by PACl, and 0.97~2.61mg/l. and 5.0~5.5 by FeCl3, respectively. Both of coagulants showed little increase of DOC removal above coagulant dosage 20mg/l Molecular weight distribution(MWD) of removed DOC was measured by get filtration(GF) technique. The MWD variation by gel filtrationin(GF) for removed DOC in the coagulation process were as follows; for raw water, the percentages of each MWD for total area were < MW 6,500 25.5%, MW 6,500~66,000 67.1%, and > MW 66,000 7.4%. For the same coagulant dosage(12mg/l), the percentages of each MWD for total area by PACl were < MW 6,500 20.5%, MW 6,500~66,000 48.7%, and > MW 66,000 9.1%, and those of FeCl3 were MW 66,000 18.2%. 응집제에 따른 합성섬유 여재를 충진한 고속필터의 여과특성에 관한 연구 (An investigation into the performance of a high-speed synthetic fiber filter employing different types of coagulants)

  • In this paper, the performance of a synthetic fiber filter aimed at high-speed operation and dosed with different coagulants or filter aids was investigated. Without a coagulant, the filter efficiency was about 62% which was greatly enhanced when three types of coagulants namely PAC, Alum, and $FeCl_3$ were used. Among the coagulants tested, PAC was the most effective, giving 91% filter efficiency, followed by Alum with 90%, and $FeCl_3$ with 78%. PAC worked effectively at a very small range of dose, but Alum was relatively effective in a wide range of concentration. Compared with PAC and Alum, $FeCl_3$ provided more or less contant efficiency regardless of its dose but gave the poorest filter efficiency. Moreover, as the inflow turbidity increased, headloss increased and the efficiency decreased at any dose and type of coagulant. The headloss recorded in this particular synthetic fiber filter is not significant as compared to that observed in typical granular filters. The recovery of solids estimated after filter cleaning was about 80% for both PAC and Alum, but poorer at 72% in the case of $FeCl_3$ due to the heavy and large floc characteristics. The recurrence of filter efficiency verified through repetitive filter runs was found to be satisfactory.

미세조류를 이용한 폐수처리 효율에 관한 연구: 영양염류 및 응집을 중심으로 (A Study on Efficiency of Wastewater Treatment using Microalgae: Focusing on Nutrients and Flocculation)

  • 본 연구에서는 영양염류 및 응집을 중심으로 미세조류를 이용한 폐수처리 효율에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 미세조류 배양을 통한 폐수의 영양염류 저감의 가능성을 확인하기 위하여 미세조류의 배양에 따른 인 및 질소의 제거율을 관찰한 결과, 각각 약 92 % 및 99 % 이상의 제거율을 보였다. 효율적인 미세조류의 회수를 위하여 Auto-flocculation 조건 및 다양한 첨가물에 따른 응집실험을 진행한 결과, 응집제인 PAC(Poly Aluminum Chloride) 및 $FeCl_3$를 첨가한 경우에 각각 평균 94 % 및 92 %의 높은 응집율을 보였다. 또한, 최소한의 농도로 90 % 이상의 응집율을 보이는 최적의 조건을 찾기 위하여 응집제별 최적농도 산출 실험을 진행하였으며, 그 결과 PAC는 30 mg/L, $FeCl_3$는 40 mg/L가 최적의 농도임을 확인하였다.

경동맥 혈전 유발 동물모델을 이용한 한약재 추출물의 효능 검색 (Screening of Anti-thrombotic Activity of Herbal Extracts in Ferric Chloride-induced Thrombosis Model)

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to examine anti-thrombotic effect of traditional herbal extracts in a rat model of ferric chloride ($FeCl_3$)-induced carotid arterial thrombosis. Methods : Thirty minutes prior to a 35% $FeCl_3$ application, Sprague Dawley(SD) rats were injected with the 10 types of traditional herbal extracts (100mg/kg, intraperitoneal injection), respectively. The effect of these herbal extracts was examined for time to occlusion(TTO) using the Laser doppler flow meter and measured for thrombus weight (TW) in $FeCl_3$-induced thrombosis model. Results : In the TTO, Salvia miltiorrhiza (Sm, $2.30{\pm}0.28$ min, p<0.001) and Santalum album (Sa, $2.19{\pm}0.19$ min, p<0.001) showed significantly delayed TTO more than twice compared with Saline-treated group. Cnidium officinale (Co), Psoralea corylifolia (Pc), Scutellatia baicalensis (Sba), Panax notoginseng (Pn), Angelica tenuissima (At), Scrophularia buergeriana (Sbu), Rhus verniciflua (Rv) and Picrasma quassioides (Pq), except for Rhus verniciflua (Rv) also meaningfully impeded TTO more than one fold. In addition, Salvia miltiorrhiza, Santalum album, Cnidium officinale, Psoralea corylifolia and Scutellatia baicalensis significantly reduced TW more than 10% compared with Saline-treated group. Especially, Salvia miltiorrhiza and Santalum album showed the most excellent anti-thrombotic effect among the 10 herbal extracts tested on the restoration of altered TTO and TW. Conclusions : These results suggest that Sm and Sa extracts have outstanding anti-thrombotic effect in $FeCl_3$-induced thrombosis model and is potentially useful as herbal medicines for the treatment and prevention of thrombosis.

Synthesis and Electrochemical Performance of Polypyrrole-Coated Iron Oxide/Carbon Nanotube Composites

  • In this work, iron oxide ($Fe_3O_4$) nanoparticles were deposited on multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) by a simple chemical coprecipitation method and $Fe_3O_4$-decorated MWNTs (Fe-MWNTs)/polypyrrole (PPy) nanocomposites (Fe-MWNTs/PPy) were prepared by oxidation polymerization. The effect of the PPy on the electrochemical properties of the Fe-MWNTs was investigated. The structures characteristics and surface properties of MWNTs, Fe-MWNTs, and Fe-MWNTs/PPy were characterized by X-ray diffraction and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, respectively. The electrochemical performances of MWNTs, Fe-MWNTs, and Fe-MWNTs/PPy were determined by cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge/discharge characteristics in a 1.0 M sodium sulfite electrolyte. The results showed that the Fe-MWNTs/PPy electrode had typical pseudo-capacitive behavior and a specific capacitance significantly greater than that of the Fe-MWNT electrode, indicating an enhanced electrochemical performance of the Fe-MWNTs/PPy due to their high electrical properties.

  • Pyroprocessing at KAERI (Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute) consists of pretreatment, electroreduction, electrorefining and electrowinning. SFR (Sodium Fast Reactor) fuel is prepared from the electrowinning process which is composed of LCC (Liquid Cadmium Process) and Cd distillation et al. LCC is an electrochemical process to obtain actinides from spent fuel. In order to recover actinides inert anodes such as carbon material are used, where chlorine gas ($Cl_2$) evolves on the surface of the carbon material. And, stainless steel (SUS) crucible should be installed in large-scale electrowinning system. Therefore, the effect of chlorine on the SUS material needs to be studied. LiCl-KCl-$UCl_3$-$NdCl_3$-$CeCl_3$-$LaCl_3$-$YCl_3$ salt was contained in 2 kinds of electrolytic crucible having an inner diameter of 5cm, made of an insulated alumina and an SUS, respectively. And, three kinds of electrodes such as cathode, anode, reference were used for the electrochemical experiments. Both solid tungsten (W) and LCC were used as cathodes. Cd of 45 g as the cathode material was contained in alumina crucibles for the deposition experiments, where the crucible has an inner diameter of 3 cm. Glassy carbon rod with the diameter of 0.3 cm was employed as an anode, where shroud was not used for the anode. A pyrex tube containing LiCl-KCl-1mol% AgCl and silver (Ag) wire having a diameter of 0.1cm was used as a reference electrode. Electrodeposition experiments were conducted at $500^{\circ}C$ at the current densities of $50{\sim}100mA/cm^2$. In conclusion, Fe ions were produced in the salt during the electrodeposition by the reaction of chlorine evolved from the anode and Fe of the SUS crucible and thereby LCC system using SUS crucible showed very low current efficiencies compared with the system using the insulated alumina crucible. Anode shroud needs to be installed around the glassy carbon not to influence surrounding SUS material.

어류분리 Vibrio anguillarum 용혈소의 정제 (Purification of Hemolysin from Vibrio anguillarum Isolated from Fish)

  • 1. 어류에서 분리한 V. anguillarum KS410의 용혈소를 분리하여 배양 상등액, 황산암모늄 침전, DEAE-cellulose column chromatography, Sephadex G-200 gel 여과 등의 과정을 통하여 36배 정제하였고 최종 회수율은 2.3%였다. 2. 정제된 용혈소의 SDS-PAGE상의 전기영동 결과는 38 Kda의 분자량을 보유하였다. 3. 온도에 대한 정제 용혈소는 45$^{\circ}C$까지는 안정하였으나 그 이상의 온도에서는 급격히 실활되어 이열성인 것으로 나타났다. 4. NaCl 농도에 따른 V. anguillarum 용혈소의 안정성은 1%가 가장 안정하였고 4%이상에서는 안정성이 감소하였다. 5. 정제된 용혈소의 pH 안정성은 6-9 사이었다. 6. 금속이온에 대한 정제 용혈소는 $Ca^{2+}, Cu^{2+}, Zn^{2+}, Fe^{2+}$ 첨가시에는 실활되었으나 $Mg^{2+}$첨가에는 영향을 받지 않았다. 7. 정제용혈소는 EDTA에 대하여 전혀 활성에 저해를 받지 않았으나 $FeCl_3$에서는 저해를 받았다.

Evaluation of the Effects of Acorus gramineus and Acorus tatarinowii Extracts on a Rat Model of Arterial Thrombosis induced by Ferric Chloride

  • We investigated the antithrombotic effect of Acorus gramineus Soland (A. gramineus) from Korea and Acorus tatarinowii Schott (A. tatarinowii) from China in a rat model of arterial thrombosis induced by ferric chloride ($FeCl_3$). Thirty minutes prior to a 35% $FeCl_3$ application, Sprague Dawley rats were intraperitoneally injected with saline, A. gramineus and A. tatarinowii (100 mg/kg), respectively. Occlusion time of rats injected with A. gramineus was delayed significantly compared to that of the vehicle and A. tatarinowii. Thrombus weight was meaningfully decreased in rats injected with A. gramineus compared to the vehicle. Additionally, A. gramineus inhibited collagen fiber damage in vessel compared to the vehicle, but A. tatarinowii did not show a significant effect. Our results show that A. gramineus and A. tatarinowii from the same genus have different antithrombotic effects, and especially A. gramineus has a better antithrombotic effect than A. tatarinowii.

Cu-Cr합금 박막의 구리 전기도금을 위한 전처리 및 에칭 특성에 관한 연구 (Pretreatment for Cu electroplating and Etching Property of Cu-Cr Film)

  • In the study of TAB(Tape Automated Bonding)technologies, Cu-Cr sputtered seed layer has been used to improve the adhesion between Polyimide and Cu film and electrical properties. But the Cu electrodeposit on Cu-Cr film had poor adhesion or powder-like form due to the surface Cr oxides on the Cu-Cr film. By means of activating the Cu-Cr film with the oxalic acid and phosphoric acid, the Cu film with the improved adhesion could be coated on the Cu-Cr sputtered film in CuSO4 solution. The etching rate was compared with increasing the Cr content of the sputtered Cu-Cr film, and anodic polarization curve in FeCl3 solution was investigated. With increasing the Cr content, the etching rate was reduced. The clean etching cross section could be obtained with increasing the concentration of FeCl3 solution. But above the 13 w/o Cr content, Cu-Cr sputtered film could not bed etched cleanly only with FeCl3 solution and additives were needed.
