Nanoflake composite multi core-shell $SrFe_{12}O_{19}/Fe_3O_4$/PEG/Polypyrrole was synthesized by in situ polymerization method. In this paper, the fabrication of $SrFe_{12}O_{19}$ nanoflake is as first core by solgel method. Then fabricated a shell layer from magnetic nanoparticles of $Fe_3O_4$, which synthesized by coprecipitation technique, onto the $SrFe_{12}O_{19}$ nanoflake. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) as a polymer layer and as second shell was coated onto the before core-shell. Than core-shell $SrFe_{12}O_{19}/Fe_3O_4$/PEG was used as template for the preparation of $SrFe_{12}O_{19}/Fe_3O_4$/PEG/Polypyrrole composite. Final composite has a conductive property among $4.23{\times}10^{-2}Scm^{-1}$ and magnetic property about $M_s$=2.99 emu/g. Also final composite in soluble at organic solvent such as DMF and DMSO and has a flake structure. Conductivity and magnetic property respectively determine by four-probe instrument and vibrant sample magnetometer (VSM), morphology and article size determined by FE-SEM, TEM and XRD.

A $Fe_3O_4$-graphite nanofiber composite for use as an anode material was successfully synthesized by calcining $Fe_3O_4$ and graphite nanofiber (GNF) together in a $N_2$ atmosphere. Using this $Fe_3O_4$-GNF composite in a lithium ion battery resulted in a higher lithium storage capacity than that obtained using $Fe_3O_4$-graphite ($Fe_3O_4$-G). The $Fe_3O_4$-GNF (10 wt%) electrode exhibited a higher lithium ion diffusion coefficient ($2.29{\times}10^{-9}cm^2s^{-1}$) than did the $Fe_3O_4$-G (10%) ($3.17{\times}10^{-10}cm^2s^{-1}$). At a current density of $100mA\;g^{-1}$, the $Fe_3O_4$-GNF (10 wt%) anode showed a higher reversible capacity ($1,031mAh\;g^{-1}$) than did the $Fe_3O_4$-G (10%) anode ($799mAh\;g^{-1}$). Moreover, the $Fe_3O_4GNF$ electrodes showed good cycling performance without the addition of a conductive material.
Effect of Fe and Mn contents on the tensile properties has been studied in Al-9wt%Si-0.3wt%Mg alloy. As Fe content of Al-9wt%Si-0.3wt%Mg-0.5wt%Mn alloy increased from 0.15wt% to 0.45wt%, tensile strength of as-cast alloy decreased from 192 MPa to 174 MPa, and elongation of the alloy also decreased from 4.8% to 4.2%. Decrease of these properties can be explained as the formation of plate shape, ${\beta}-Al_5FeSi$ phase with high Fe/Mn ratio of the alloy. However when Mn content of Al-9wt%Si-0.3wt%Mg-0.45wt%Fe alloy increased from 0.3wt% to 0.5wt%, tensile strength of T6 aged alloy increased from 265 MPa to 275 MPa, and elongation of the alloy increased from 2.3% to 3.6%. These improvements attribute to chinese script, ${\alpha}-Al_{15}(Mn,Fe)_3Si_2$ phase shape-modified from ${\beta}-Al_5FeSi$ phase with low Fe/Mn ratio of the alloy.
In this study, chemical solution mixing and hydrogen reduction method was used to fabricate nanostructured $Fe_xCo_{1-x}$ alloy powders. Fe-Co chloride mixture, FeCl$_2$ and COCI$_2$ with 99.9% purity, were reduced in hydrogen atmosphere. Nanostructured Fe-Co alloy powders with a grain size of 50 nm were successfully fabricated. Magnetic properties of fabricated $Fe_xCo_{1-x}$(x=0, 10, 30, 50, 70, 100) alloy powders with the same grain size were measured because size factor can affect magnetic properties. Coercivity of Fe-Co alloy powders were increased with increasing Co contents. Maximum value of coercivity in various Co contented Fe-Co alloy powders with similar grain size was 125 Oe at Fe$_{100}$. Saturation magnetization value at Fe$_{70}$Co$_{30}$ composition showed maximum value of 219 emu/g and saturation magnetization value decreased with increasing Co contents and minimum value of 155 emu/g was observed at Co$_{100}$.
We have investigated magnetism of $Fe_2 /Ir_4$(001) superlattice in terms of a first-principles calculation by using an all-electron full-potential linearized augmented plane-wave (FLAPW) method within the generalized gradient approximation (GGA). We considered two magnetic states, the ferromagnetic (FM) and antiferromagnetic (AFM) coupled states between the Fe layers. It was found that the FM state was energetically more stable than the AFM one by 0.166 eV. Calculated magnetic moments of the Fe layers were, in absolute values, 2.45$\mu_B$ and 2.30 $\mu_B$for the FM and AFM states, respectively. We also found that the Ir layers had very small magnetic moments less than 0.1 $\mu_B$ for both magnetic states. In all the magnetic states, the subinterface Ir layers were coupled antiferromagnetically to the interface Ir layers, while the interface Ir layers were always coupled frerromagnetically to the interface Fe layers. These results contradicted to recent experimental reports of magnetically "dead"Fe layers in Fe/Ir superlattices for which the Fe layer thickness was less than two atomic layers. We attributed that the experimentally observed "dead"Fe layers were due to possible interdiffusion between Ir and Fe layers.en Ir and Fe layers.

The spontaneous Hall effect in amorphous Tb-Fe and Sm-Fe thin films, which possess excellent magnetic softness, is investigated in this work to seek a possibility of practical applications of these thin films as sensors. The resistivity of Tb-Fe thin films ranges from 180 to 250 Ωcm as the Tb content varies from 35 to 46 at. %. Tb-Fe thin films show negative Hall resistivity ranging from - 7.3 to - 5.0 Ωcm in the same composition range, giving the normalized resistivity ratio in the range of -4.1 to -2.0 %. On the other hand, the resistivity of Sm-Fe thin films ranges from 150 to 166 Ωcm as the Sm content varies from 22 to 31 at. %. Sm-Fe thin films show positive Hall resistivity which varies from 7.1 to 2.8 Ωcm in the same composition range, giving the normalized resistivity ratio in the range of 4.8 to 1.7 %. These values are significantly high compared with the values of other R-T alloys, Tb-Co alloys for example, where the highest reported value is 2.5 %. Between the two different sets of samples, Tb-Fe thin films with perpendicular anisotropy are considered to be more suitable for practical applications, since saturation is reached at a los magnetic field, approximately 2 kOe in a Tb$\sub$35.1/ Fe$\sub$64.9/ thin film, for example.
A pot experiment with an acid sulfate soil from Kimhae was carried out to find out the cause of toxicity in rice plant. The effect of liming on changes in pH, Eh, Al, and $Fe^{2+}$ in soil and leachate was examined at two-week interval during the growth of rice. Also, total $P_2O_5$, $SiO_2$, Fe and Al contents in plants at harvesting stage were determined. In the early stage, the rice plant in the check soil showed the same healthy growth as did in limed soil even at high Al in soil and leachate. Around panicle forming stage, reddish brown mottlings suddenly infested all over the plants when accompanied with strong reduction, and afterward growth was severely retarded, and finally caused the significant difference in yield. During the strong reduction, significant amount of sulfide was formed only in check soils, but no free $H_2S$ was detected. Appreciable Al was still present in soil and leachate, and $Fe^{2+}$ in check soil was lower than that in limed soil, but $Fe^{2+}$ in leachate was slightly higher. Limed soils were more reduced and produced more $Fe^{2+}$ due to increased microorganism activity in the neutral pH. In the leachate, the check showed slightly higher $Fe^{2+}$ concentration but considerably higher than limed one at later stage. Appreciable amount of Al was detected only in check soil and leachate from transplanting to panicle formation stage. Plant tissues at harvesting stage contained very low P regardless of liming. Uptake of Si was markedly increased by liming. Contents of Fe an Al was markedly higher in check than limed one, but difference in Fe content was more drastic possibly due to more Fe uptake in presence of markedly higher $Fe^{2+}$ in soil and leachate at later growing stage. In conclusion toxic symptom in this acid sulfate soil seems to be primarily due to Al when accompanied with low pH and strong reduction. But association with $Fe^{2+}$ toxicity is not completely excluded. In order to differentiate the effect of $Fe^{2+}$ from that of Al more detailed plant analysis at different stage is required.
We have investigated the dependence of the magnetization, anisotropy, coercivity, and Kerr rotation on the Fe concentration in FeCo/Pd multilayer thin films, where the Fe concentration in the FeCo sublayer varied between 0 and 100% with maintaining the same sublayer thickness of $2.5\;{\AA}$ FeCo and $10.5\;{\AA}$A Pd. The maximum saturation magnetization was observed at the Fe concentration of about 48at.% in the FeCo sublayer. Perpendicular magnetic anisotropy and coercivity of the FeCo/Pd multilayer thin film decreased monotonically with increasing the Fe con-centration. The Kerr rotation angle also decreased with increasing the Fe concentration and the amount of vari-ation was remarkably changed with decreasing the light wavelength.
Fe compounds of volcanic rock samples distributed in the seaside area of Ulleung island were investigated by means of X-ray diffractometry (XRD), X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF) and M$\ddot{o}$ssbauer spectroscopy. We found that samples were typical basic rock which had the total amount of iron compounds including hematite ($\alpha-Fe_2O_3$) varies from 10.6 w% to 14.5 w% depending on the different regions by XRF. The M$\ddot{o}$ssbauer spectra of the samples were consisted of one sextet due to hemitite and doublets due to $Fe^{3+}$ in various clay mineral and $Fe^{2+}$ in pyroxene $(Ca,Fe,Mg)_2(SiO_4)_2$, ilmenite ($FeTiO_3$) and olivine $(Mg,Fe)_2SiO_4$. The balance state of Fe ions of all samples was chiefly $Fe^{3+}$, so we could find that the volcanic rocks distributed in the seaside area of Ulleung island were made in inland.
Optical properties of $T_{0.2}Fe_{2.8}O_4$ (T = V, Cr, Mn) thin films derived from ferrimagnetic $Fe_3O_4$ were investigated by spectroscopic ellipsometry in the 1~8 eV photon-energy range. The difference in optical-absorption spectrum between the ternary compounds and $Fe_3O_4$ was analyzed based on preferable sites in spinel structure and iconicity of the doped V, Cr, and Mn ions. The observed absorption spectra from $Fe_3O_4$ and the ternary compounds can be interpreted as mainly due to charge-transfer transitions of Fe d electrons characterized by absorption structures with wide energy width. Also, the observed absorption structures with narrow energy width can be interpreted as due to crystal-field transitions between different d electron configurations of tetrahedral $Fe^{3+}(d^5)$ ion. The transitions were described in terms of spin-polarized electronic states of $Fe_3O_4$.
