Josephson Property and Magnetoresistance in Y$_1Ba_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$ and La$_{0.2}Sr_{0.8}MnO_3$ Films on Biepitaxial SrTiO$_3$/(MgO/)Al$_2O_3$(1120) (SrTiO$_3$/(MgO/)Al$_2O_3$(1120) 위에 쌍에피택셜하게 성장한 Y$_1Ba_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$와 La$_{0.2}Sr_{0.8}MnO_3$ 박막의 조셉슨 및 자기저항 특성연구)

  • Biepitaxial Y$_1Ba_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$ (YBCO) and La$_{0.2}Sr_{0.8}MnO_3$ (LSMO) thin films have been prepared on SrTiO$_3$ buffer layer and MgO seed layer grown on Al$_2O_3$(11${\bar{2}}$0)substrates by dc-sputtering with hollow cylindrical targets, respectively. We charaterized Josephson properties and significantly large magnetoresistance in YBCO and LSMO films with 45$^{\circ}$ grain boundary junction, respectively. The observed working voltage (I$_cR_n$) at 77 K in grain boundary junction was below 10${\mu}$V, which is typical I$_cR_n$ value of single biepitaxial Josephson junction. The field magnetoresistance ratio (MR) of LSMO grain boundary juncoon at 77K was enhanced to 13%, which it was significant MR value with high magnetic field sensitivity at a low field of 250 Oe. These results indicate that inserting the insulating layer instead of the grain boundary layer with metallic phase can be possible to apply a new SIS Josephson junction and a novel magnetic device using spin-polarized tunneling junction.

The Effect of Micro Constituent Element on the Development of Unique Color of Koryo Celadon (고려 청자 유약 발색에 미량 성분이 미치는 영향)

  • 발굴된 과거 고려청자의 화학성분조성과 물리적 특성에 대한 평가를 하고 미량성분의 청자의 발색에 미치는 영향을 고찰한 결과, 고려 청자 태토는 Fe$_2$O$_3$가 2%, TiO$_2$가 0.8% 함유되어 있었으며, 청자유는 석회.장석유로서 Fe$_2$O$_3$가 1.0~1.2%, TiO$_2$가 0.16% 포함되어 있었다. 비색청자의 경우 미량성분인 MnO$_2$가 P$_2$O$_{5}$의 함량이 0.37%와 0.76%, CuO는 300~500ppm 정도 함유하고 있었다. 반사율 측정 결과 일반적인 청자가 540~570nm의 장파장대에서의 반사율이 급격히 떨어지는데 반하여, 13세기 비색 청자의 것은 적색 파장대에서 10%이상 높았다. CoO는 미량 첨가로도 유약의 청색 파장대 반사율이 높고, 적색 파장대의 반사율이 급격히 떨어지며 청자 발색에 부정적인 영향을 미쳤다. CuO는 0.05%를 첨가했을 경우 적색 파장대에서 반사율 곡선이 높게 나타나고 있어 비색 청자발색에 효과적이었다. 또한 명도를 나타내는 L*값도 CuO가 첨가된 유약이 가장 높았고, 비색청자의 색상은 녹청자에 비해 맑고 깊은 색감을 보였다.

  • [ $MnO_2$ ]가 첨가된 $0.9Pb(Zr_{0.5}Ti_{0.5})O_3-0.2Pb[(Zn_{0.8}Ni_{0.2})_{1/3}Nb_{2/3}]O_3$(0.8PZT-0.2PZNN) 세라믹스는 그 압전특성과 유전특성이 뛰어나지만 $1000^{\circ}C$ 이하의 낮은 소결 온도에서는 소결되지 않는다. $1000^{\circ}C$이하의 낮은 소결온도에서 소결하기 위해 CuO를 첨가한 결과, 소결온도 $920^{\circ}C$에서 소결성은 우수하였으나 그 압전 특성의 저하가 두드러졌다. 이는 XRD에서 확인한 결과에 따르면 CuO의 첨가가 우수한 MPB 조성으로 판명된 $MnO_2$ 가 첨가된 0.8PZT-0.2PZNN 세라믹스의 결정구조를 Rhombohedral 구조로 바꾸기 때문인 것으로 보였으며 이러한 문제는 PZNN의 비율을 조절하여 0.875PZT-0.125PZNN 세라믹스를 선택함으로 인해 해결할 수 있었다. 그러나 여전히 낮은 $Q_m$값을 높이기 위해서 $Al_2O_3$를 첨가하였고 그 결과 시편의 tetragonality 감소와 $Q_m$값의 증가를 확인할 수 있었으나 그 첨가량이 0.2wt% 이상일 경우에는 밀도의 감소로 인한 압전특성의 저하가 나타났다. 밀도의 향상을 위해 Zn and Ni excess 조성을 선택하였고 그 결과 0.5wt% $MnO_2$와 0.2wt% CuO 그리고 0.3wt% $Al_2O_3$를 첨가한 0.875PZT-0.125PZNN 세라믹스(Zn and Ni excess 조성)를 $920^{\circ}C$에서 소결한 경우 $k_p=0.581,\;Q_m=809,\;d_{33}=345\;pC/N\;and\;{\varepsilon}_{33}/{\varepsilon}_0=1345$의 빼어난 압전 및 유전특성과 $330^{\circ}C$의 높은 $T_c$를 보였고 그 조성의 vibration velocity는 약4.5 m/s로 나타났다.

Fabrication of YBCO Superconducting Film with $CeO_2$/$BaTiO_3$Double Buffer Layer ($CeO_2$/$BaTiO_3$이중완충막을 이용한 YBCO 박막 제작)

  • We have fabricated good quality superconducting YBa$_2$Cu$_3$$O_{7-x}$(YBCO) thin films on Hastelloy(Ni-Cr-Mo alloys) metallic substrates with CeO$_2$and BaTiO$_3$buffer layers in-situ by pulsed laser deposition in a multi-target processing chamber. YBCO film with CeO$_2$single buffer layer shows T$_{c}$ of 71.64 K and the grain size less than 0.1${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. When BaTiO$_3$ is used as a single buffer layer, the grain size of YBCO is observed to be larger than that of YBCO/CeO$_2$by 200 times and the transition temperature of the film is enhanced to be about 84 K. CeO$_2$/BaTiO$_3$double buffer layer has been adopted to enhance the superconducting properties, which results in the enhancement of the critical temperature and the critical current density to be about 85 K and 8.4$\times$10$^4$ A/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at 77 K, respectively mainly due to the enlargement of the grain size of YBCO film.ilm.

Effect of Li2O-Bi2O3 Addition on the Piezoelectric Properties of Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)0.65Ti0.35O3 Ceramics (Li2O-Bi2O3 첨가가 Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)0.65Ti0.35O3 세라믹의 압전 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • Piezoelectric ceramic specimens with the $Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})_{0.65}Ti_{0.35}O_3$ (PMN-PT) composition are prepared by the solid state reaction method known as the "columbite precursor" method. Moreover, the effects of the $Li_2O-Bi_2O_3$ additive on the microstructure, crystal structure, and piezoelectric properties of sintered PMN-PT ceramic samples are investigated. The addition of $Li_2O-Bi_2O_3$ lowers the sintering temperature from $1,200^{\circ}C$ to $950^{\circ}C$. Moreover, with the addition of >5 wt.% additive, the crystal structure changes from tetragonal to rhombohedral. Notably, the sample with 3 wt.% additive exhibits excellent piezoelectric properties ($d_{33}=596pC/N$ and Kp = 57%) and a sintered density of $7.92g/cm^3$ after sintering at $950^{\circ}C$. In addition, the sample exhibits a curie temperature of $138.6^{\circ}C$ at 1 kHz. Finally, the compatibility of the sample with a Cu electrode is examined, because the energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy data indicate the absence of interdiffusion between Cu and the ceramic material.

Catalytic Nitrate Reduction in Water over Nanosized TiO2 Supported Pd-Cu Catalysts (나노 크기의 타이타니아 담체를 활용한 Pd-Cu 촉매의 수중 질산성 질소 저감 반응에의 적용)

  • In this study, we synthesized $TiO_2$ supports with nanosized crystalline structure by solvothermal method and prepared $TiO_2$ supported Pd-Cu catalysts. It was shown that the crystalline size of $TiO_2$ support in the catalyst influenced on the catalytic activity of nitrate reduction in water. The catalyst with the smaller crystalline size of $TiO_2$ support presented faster nitrate reduction rate, but had low nitrogen selectivity due to high pH environment of reaction medium during the reaction. Through injection of carbon dioxide as a pH buffer, the nitrogen selectivity increased by about 60%. Furthermore, we investigated that the relationships between the catalytic performance and the physicochemical properties of the prepared catalysts characterized by $N_2$ adsoprtion-desorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD), $H_2$-temperature programmed reduction (TPR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).

  • Ar 이온 식각법을 이용하여 (001) SrTiO3(STO) 단결정 기판 위에 200nm 높이의 계단형 모서리를 제작하였다. 계단식은 입사하는 Ar 이온 빔에 대한 Ar 이온 입사각과 마스크 회전각을 조절함으로써 38$^{\circ}$-70$^{\circ}$의 넓은 범위로 제어할 수 있었다. 초전도 YBa2Cu3O7-$\delta$박막은 계단이 있는 STO 기판 위에 펄스레이저 증착법을 이용하여 증착하였으며, 박막의 두께는 계단 높이에 대한 박막의 두께비가 0.5-1.2가 되도록 하였다. 계단형 모서리 조셉슨 접합의 임계전류밀도와 IcRn값은 77K에서 각각 104A/$\textrm{cm}^2$, 70-200$\mu$V이었다.

Critical currents of $YBa_2Cu_3O_7$ step-edge Josephson junctions on $SrTiO_3$ (100) substrates

  • We have studied critical currents of $YBa_2Cu_3O_7$ step-edge junctions with different step orientations with respect to the major axes of $SrTiO_3$ (100) substrates. The junctions were prepared by pulsed laser deposition and argon ion milling with photoresist mask. We investigated current-voltage characteristics and critical current of the junctions as a function of the angle. The junction critical current showed an angle dependent modulation with maxima near 0 or 90 degree and minima near 45 and 135 degrees. The experimental results were analyzed based on the microstructure of the junction along the step and the d-wave symmetry of $YBa_2Cu_3O_7$ superconductor.

Effect of SO2 on the Simultaneous Removal of Mercury and NOx over CuCl2-loaded V2O5-WO3/TiO2 SCR Catalysts (CuCl2가 담지된 V2O5-WO3/TiO2 SCR 촉매에 의한 수은 및 NOx 동시 제거에서 SO2의 영향)

  • CuCl2-loaded V2O5-WO3/TiO2 catalyst showed excellent activity in the catalytic oxidation of elemental mercury to oxidized mercury even under SCR condition in the presence of NH3, which is well known to significantly inhibit the oxidation activity of elemental mercury by HCl. Moreover, it was confirmed that, when SO2 was present in the reaction gas together with HCl, excellent elemental mercury oxidation activity was maintained even though CuCl2 supported on the catalyst surface was converted to CuSO4. This is thought to be because not only HCl but also the SO4 component generated on the catalyst surface promotes the oxidation of elemental mercury. However, in the presence of SO2, the total mercury balance before and after the catalytic reaction was not matched, especially as the concentration of SO2 increased. In order to understand the cause of this, further studies are needed to investigate the effect of SO2 in the SnCl2 aqueous solution employed for mercury species analysis and the effect of sulfate ions generated on elemental mercury oxidation. It was confirmed that SO2 also promotes NOx removal activity, which is thought to be because the increase in acid sites by SO4 generated on the catalyst surface by SO2 facilitates NH3 adsorption. The composition change and structure of the components present on the catalyst surface under various reaction conditions were measured by XRD and XRF. These measurement results were presented as a rational explanation for the results that SO2 enhances the oxidation activity of elemental mercury and the NOx removal activity in this catalyst system.
