The electrochemical and thermal stability of $LiNi_{0.8}Co_{0.16}Al_{0.04}O_2$ were studied before and after $Co_3(PO_4)_2$ coating. Different to conventional coating material such as $ZrO_2$ or AlPO4, the coating layer was not detected clearly by TEM analysis, indicating that the $Co_3(PO_4)_2$ nanoparticles effectively reacted with surface impurities such as $Li_2CO_3$. The coated sample showed similar capacity at a low C rate condition. However, the rate capability was significantly improved by the coating effect. It is associated with a decrease of impedance after coating because impedance can act as a major barrier for overall cell performances in high C rate cycling. In the DSC profile of the charged sample, exothermic peaks were shifted to high temperatures and heat generation was reduced after coating, indicating the thermal reaction between electrode and electrolyte was sucessfully suppressed by $Co_3(PO_4)_2$ nanoparticle coating.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) induces coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and may increase the risk of adverse outcomes in lung cancer patients. In this study, we investigated the expression and function of mucin 1 (MUC1) after SARS-CoV-2 infection in the lung epithelial cancer cell line Calu-3. MUC1 is a major constituent of the mucus layer in the respiratory tract and contributes to pathogen defense. SARS-CoV-2 infection induced MUC1 C-terminal subunit (MUC1-C) expression in a STAT3 activation-dependent manner. Inhibition of MUC1-C signaling increased apoptosis-related protein levels and reduced proliferation-related protein levels; however, SARS-CoV-2 replication was not affected. Together, these results suggest that increased MUC1-C expression in response to SARS-CoV-2 infection may trigger the growth of lung cancer cells, and COVID-19 may be a risk factor for lung cancer patients.

A quaternary alloy film of $CoCr_{16.2}Pt_{10.8}Ta_4$was investigated for its magnetic properties and c-axis orientation with and without Ti underlayer. Additional elements such as Ta, Pt have been frequently introduced in CoCr alloy film for perpendicular recording as a means of improving magnetic performance. It has been reported that the addition of Pt and Ta in CoCr increase the coercivity and the magnetic isolation of columnar grains, respectively. However, CoCrPtTa perpendicular magnetic layer should be more increased its perpendicular magnetic anisotropy than at present for the application of ultrahigh recording density. The improvement of underlayers and substrate materials is one of the promised schemes to intensify the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy. In this study, the insertion of Ti underlayer shows the remarkable improvement of c-axis orientation compare with the direct deposition on the bare glass. The mechanism about this effect of Ti underlayer on CoCrPtTa is not to be clarified yet. Meanwhile, it is found that the magnetic domain of CoCrPtTa on 20 nm Ti underlayer has the continuous stripe pattern but the one of CoCrPtTa on 90 nm Ti underlayer shows the discrete mass type from the results of MFM investigation. This phenomenon is to be a distinct evidence that the improvement of perpendicular anisotropy by the adoption of Ti underlayer is originated from the reinforcement of the grain boundary segregation in CoCrPtTa alloy. Moreover, the transition of the M-H hysteresis pattern with the thickness of Ti underlayer indicates that the major contribution of Ti underlayer is not the magnetocrystalline anisotropy but the shape anisotropy due to the formation of uniform columnar grains by the nonmagnetic alloy segregation.

The cause for the variation of the initial permeability according to the Co substitution of Ni-Zn ferrite used in the LC resonance filter for the power line communication is studied. The initial permeability decreases as the quantity of Co diminishes, and the saturation magnetization increases as the quantity increases. Because the sintering density and the microstructure of ferrite show little change, the variation of the initial permeability can't be explained by the density, microstructure nor the saturation magnetization factor. The magnetocrystalline anisotropy increases, similar with the saturation magnetization, as the quantity of Co increases. The increase of magnetocrystalline anisotropy value makes the domain wall energy grow, which leads to the decrease of the initial permeability, because there's linear law between the magnetocrystalline anisotropy and the domain wall energy. The resonance frequency to Co substitution moved to high frequency band, due to the close relationship with domain wall energy, Initial permeability decreaed a little with an increase of Co contents, but resonace frequency moved to high frequency band. as a result of that, when Co was added 0.05 mol, initial permeability and resonace frequency was 75 and 25 MHz respectively.
Present automobile robot welding use $CO_2$ inert gas as a shielding fluid. The inert gas is spreading out and consumable. This present welding mechanism interfered with the welding nozzle. After welding several places have welding defects. Therefore, to reduce the $CO_2$ inert gas and to avoid interference with the material and to increase production modified nozzle which composed of cap and tip are needed. Suggested modified nozzle assembly composed of two stages i.e. $1^{st}$ and $2^{nd}$ stage. At the second stage it has 8 holes which is 3mm of diameter around the circumference. On the base of experimental results the inert $CO_2$ gas discharge reduced to 47% and welding defects decreased also. Modified two stage welding cap can be applied to the present robot welding machine and save the prime cost.

The thermal behavior of $(Co_{0.5}\;Mn_{0.5})Fe_2O_4$ prepared by a co-precipitation wasinvestigated for Hz generation by the thermochemical cycle. The reduction reaction of $(Co_{0.5}\;Mn_{0.5})Fe_2O_4$ started from $480^{\circ}C$, and the weight loss was 1.6 wt% up to $1100^{\circ}C$. At this reaction, $(Co_{0.5}\;Mn_{0.5})Fe_2O_4$ was reduced by release of oxygen bonded with the $Fe^{3+}$ ion in the B site of ($CO_{0.5}$$(Co_{0.5}\;Mn_{0.5})Fe_2O_4$. In the $H_2O$ decomposition reaction, $H_2$ was generated by oxidationof reduced $(Co_{0.5}\;Mn_{0.5})Fe_2O_4$. The crystal structure of $(Co_{0.5}\;Mn_{0.5})Fe_2O_4$ for reduction reaction maintained spinel structure and the lattice constant of $(Co_{0.5}\;Mn_{0.5})Fe_2O_4$ ($8.41\AA$) was enlarged to $8.45\AA$. But the lattice constant of $(Co_{0.5}\;Mn_{0.5})Fe_2O_4$ after $H_2O$ decomposition reaction did not change to $8.45\AA$. Then, $(Co_{0.5}\;Mn_{0.5})Fe_2O_4$ is excellent material in the thermochemical cyclic reaction due to release oxygen at low temperature for the reduction reaction and produce $H_2$ maintaining crystal structure for redox reaction.
Cloud-point and bubble-point curves for poly(ethylene-co-13.8 mol% octene) ($PEO_{13.8}$) and Poly(ethylene-co-15.3 mol% octene) ($PEO_{15.3}$) were determined up to $150^{\circ}C$ and 450 bar in hydrocarbons which have different molecular size and structure. Whereas ($PEO_{15.3}$+ n-pentane) system has cloud-point and bubble-point type transitions, ($PEO_{15.3}$+ n-propane) and ($PEO_{15.3}$+ n-butane) systems do only cloud-point type transition. In cyclo-pentane, -hexane, -heptane, and -octane, $PEO_{15.3}$ has a bubble-point transition. ($PEO_{13.8}$+ n-butane) mixture has a critical mixture concentration at 5 wt% PEO. (PEO + hydrocarbon) mixtures exhibit LCST type behavior. Solubility of PEO increases with hydrocarbon size due to increasing dispersion interaction which is favorable to dissolve PEO.
Objectives: Carbon dioxide ($CO_2$) may be one of the biggest causes of climate change. The purposes of this study were to reduce greenhouse gases and to increase strawberry production by developing the supply devices in livestock facilities using the membrane technology Methods: Carbon dioxide was collected from beside to livestock facilities. The injection of $CO_2$ was stopped when it reached 1,000 ppm in the facility house. Case group with injection of $CO_2$ was compared to control group with normal environment. The experiments were conducted for 8 days from December 11, 2017. Results: Total strawberry production was found to be 1,317 kg in the case group and 1,176 kg in the control group. The correlation between $CO_2$ and crop yields has led to some statistical evidence that carbon dioxide helps to grow (${\beta}=0.832$, p<0.05). Conclusions: This study identified the potential for efforts to reduce the $CO_2$ in farming households. Increased concentrations of $CO_2$ have shown that strawberries have a better growth condition. In addition, it can be explained that the plants need wide leaves to quickly absorb much $CO_2$.
The D2EHPA/TBP co-extractants immobilized PolyHIPE membrane can be used for the selective separation of Mn (II) from Co (II). By solvent-nonsolvent method, D2EHPA/TBP co-extractants can be effectively immobilized into PolyHIPE membrane. The pore structure of PolyHIPE membrane and the presence of TBP enhance the stability of immobilized co-extractants. The optimal operating conditions for the separation of Mn (II) and Co (II) are feeding phase at pH 5.5, sulfuric acid concentration in the stripping phase of about 50 g/L and stirring speed at 400 rpm. The D2EHPA/TBP co-extractants ratio of 5:1 shows synergetic effect on Mn/Co separation factor about 22.74. The removal rate and recovery rate of Mn (II) is about 98.4 and 97.1%, respectively, while for Co (II) the transport efficiency is insignificant. The kinetic study of Mn (II) transport shows that high initial flux, $J_f^o=80.1({\mu}mol/m^2s)$, and maxima stripping flux, $J_s^{max}=20.8({\mu}mol/m^2s)$, can be achieved with D2EHPA/TBP co-extractants immobilized PolyHIPE membrane. The stability and reusability study shows that the membrane can maintain a long term performance with high efficiency. High purity of Co (II) and Mn (II) can be recovered from the feeding phase and stripping phase, respectively.
In this study, activated carbon (AC) as a carbon source was modified with different concentrations of cobalt chloride ($CoCl_2$) to prepare a Co-AC composite, and it was used for the preparation of Co-AC/$TiO_2$ composites with titanium oxysulfate (TOS) as the titanium precursor. The physicochemical properties of the prepared Co-AC/$TiO_2$ composites were characterized by $N_2$ adsorption at 77 K, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis. The photocatalytic treatments of organic dyes were examined under an irradiation of visible light with different irradiation times. $N_2$ adsorption data showed that the composites had decreased surface area compared with the pristine AC, which was $389\;m^2/g$. From the XRD results, the Co-AC/$TiO_2$ composites contained a mixturephase structuresof anatase and rutile, but a cobalt oxide phase was not detected in the XRD pattern. The EDX results of the Co-AC/$TiO_2$ composites confirmed the presence of various elements, namely, C, O, Ti, and Co. Subsequently, the decomposition of methylene orange (MO, $C_{14}H_{14}N_3NaO_3S$) and rhodamine B (Rh.B, $C_{28}H_{31}ClN_2O_3$) in an aqueous solution, respectively, showed the combined effects of an adsorption effect by AC and the photo degradation effect by $TiO_2$. Especially, the Co particles in the Co-AC/$TiO_2$ composites could enhance the photo degradation behaviors of $TiO_2$ under visible light.
