Piezoelectric Characteristics of Low temperature Sintering Pb0.76Ca0.24[(Mn1/3Sb2/3)0.04Ti0.96]O3 Ceramics With the Variation of Poling Field (저온소결 Pb0.76Ca0.24[(Mn1/3Sb2/3)0.04Ti0.96]O3 세라믹스의 분극전계에 따른 압전특성)

  • In this paper, in order to develop low temperature sintering $PbTiO_3$-system piezoelectric ceramics for thickness-vibration-mode piezoelectric transformer, $Pb_{0.76}Ca_{0.24}[(Mn_{1/3}Sb_{2/3})_{0.04}Ti_{0.96}]O_3$ ceramics using $0.25\;wt\%\;CaCO_3$ and $0.2\;wt\%\;Li_{2}CO_3$ as sintering aids were manufactured according to the variation of poling field. The specimens could be sintered at $930\;^{\circ}C$. The piezoelectric properties were investigated according to the poling field. The maximum properties showed at the field of 6.5 kV/mm, which had kt of 0.49, Qmt of 1816, and $d_{33}$ of 81.4 pC/N.

  • In this paper, in order to develop low temperature sintering $PbTiO_3$-system piezoelectric ceramics for thickness-vibration-mode piezoelectric transformer, $Pb_{0.76}Ca_{0.24}[(Mn_{1/3}Sb_{2/3})_{0.04}Ti_{0.96}]O_3$ ceramics using $0.25wt%CaCO_3$ and 0.2wt%$Li_2CO_3$ as sintering aids were manufactured according to the variation of poling field. Specimens could be sintered at the sintering temperature of $930^{\circ}C$. The piezoelectric properties increased according to the increase of poling field and showed the maximum values (kt=0.49, Qmt=1816, and $d_{33}$=81.4pC/N) under 6.5kV/mm.

  • In the study, in order to develop low temperature sintering ceramics for multilayer piezoelectric transformer, $(Pb,Ca,Sr)Ti(Mn,Sb)O_3$ ceramics were fabricated using $Na_2CO_3$, $Li_2CO_3$, $MnO_2$ and $Bi_2O_3$ as sintering aids and their dielectric and piezoelectric properties were investigated according to the amount of $Bi_2O_3$ addition. At the sintering temperature of $900^{\circ}C$, density, thickness vibration mode electromechanical coupling factor ($k_t$), thickness vibration mode mechanical quality factor ($Q_{mt}$) and dielecteic constant (${\varepsilon}_r$) showed the optimum value of $6.94[g/cm^3]$, 0.497, 3,162 and 209, respectively, for multilayer piezoelectric transformer application.

  • Photosensitive compound, 1-methyl-4-[2-(4-diethylacetylphenyl)ethenyl] pridinium methosulfate(SbQ-A salt), was synthesized from dimethyl sulfate, terephthalaldehyde mono-(diethylacetal) and 4-picoline. SbQ-A salts were reacted with poly(vinyl alcohol)s, (PVA) in aqueous solution with phosphoric acid as catalyst to give photosensitive PVA-SbQ with different SbQ content and molecular weight. Relative photosensitivity of PVA-SbQ was determined by gray scale(GS) method. The rotative sensitivity of PVA-SbQ increased with increasing amount of bound SbQ in the case of high molecular weight(MW=77,000-79,000g/mol) as substrate and decreased with decreasing molecular weight of PVA with about constant(1.3mol%) amount of bound SbQ. The most sensitive polymer was obtained when SbQ group content in PVA-SbQ reached about 2.63mol% in the case of high molecular weight(77,000-79,000g/mol) PVA. This sample showed 90 times greater sensitivity than dichromated PVA as reference photosensitive system. PVA-SbQ photosensitive polymer synthesized was applied to the photolithographic screening process of phosphor on the panel of cathode ray tube(CRT). Phosphor slurry was made with PVA-SbQ, phosphor, a small amount of surfactant and other additives using water as medium. The slurry was coated onto panel, dried by heater, exposed to UV light and then developed by distilled water. When a small amount of cationic surfactant such as cetyltrimethylammonium chloride was used in the slurry formulation, the sharpness of phosphor pattern was equal to or better than that of dichromated PVA photosensitive polymer system used currently.

  • The synergistic effects in mechanical mixture catalysts of Mo-V-O and metal oxide were investigated for the selective oxidation of acrolein. The metal oxides used are $SnO_2$, ${\alpha}-Sb_2O_4$, $WO_3$, ${\alpha}-Al_2O_3$, CuO, $MnO_2$, $Cu_2O$, MgO, CoO, and ZnO. Mechanical mixtures of Mo-V-O plus $SnO_2$ or ${\alpha}-Sb_2O_4$ had resulted in higher conversion of acrolein and higher yield of acrylic acid than Mo-V-O. The origin of the synergy is attributed to the cooperation of Mo-V-O and $SnO_2$ or ${\alpha}-Sb_2O_4$, in which $SnO_2$ or ${\alpha}-Sb_2O_4$ forms dissociated oxygens at their oxygen vacancies and transports them to Mo-V-O. $Cu_2O$, MgO, CuO, and $MnO_2$, increased conversion of acrolein but decreased yield of acrylic acid. CoO and ZnO inhibited the catalytic performance of Mo-V-O. The different role of these metal oxides is explained in terms of their oxidation-reduction properties.

  • We aimed to examine the co-doping effects of 1/6 mol% $Mn_3O_4$ and 1/4 mol% $Cr_2O_3$ (Mn:Cr = 1:1) on the reaction, microstructure, and electrical properties, such as the bulk defects and grain boundary properties, of ZnO-$Bi_2O_3-Sb_2O_3$ (ZBS; Sb/Bi = 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0) varistors. The sintering and electrical properties of Mn,Cr-doped ZBS, ZBS(MnCr) varistors were controlled using the Sb/Bi ratio. Pyrochlore ($Zn_2Bi_3Sb_3O_{14}$), ${\alpha}$-spinel ($Zn_7Sb_2O_{12}$), and ${\delta}-Bi_2O_3$ (also ${\beta}-Bi_2O_3$ at Sb/Bi ${\leq}$ 1.0) were detected for all of the systems. Mn and Cr are involved in the development of each phase. Pyrochlore was decomposed and promoted densification at lower temperature on heating in Sb/Bi = 1.0 system by Mn rather than Cr doping. A more homogeneous microstructure was obtained in all systems affected by ${\alpha}$-spinel. In ZBS(MnCr), the varistor characteristics were improved dramatically (non-linear coefficient, ${\alpha}$ = 40~78), and seemed to form ${V_o}^{\cdot}$(0.33 eV) as a dominant defect. From impedance and modulus spectroscopy, the grain boundaries can be seen to have divided into two types, i.e. one is tentatively assigned to ZnO/$Bi_2O_3$ (Mn,Cr)/ZnO (0.64~1.1 eV) and the other is assigned to the ZnO/ZnO (1.0~1.3 eV) homojunction.

  • Si 도핑한 $Ge_2Sb_2Te_5$ 박막은 비정질상에서의 열적 안정성증가, fcc에서 hex상으로의 상전이 억제, 활성화 에너지 증가 등의 특성을 보인다. 본 연구에서는 Si 도핑에 의한 $Ge_2Sb_2Te_5$ 박막의 전기적 그리고 구조적인 특성에 관한 실험을 진행하였다. 실험에 사용된 Si 도핑 $Ge_2Sb_2Te_5$ 박막은 Si 기판 위에 radio frequency power supply를 사용해 Si과 $Ge_2Sb_2Te_5$ 타겟을 co-sputtering하여 증착하였다. Si의 sputtering 파워를 달리하여 실리콘의 농도를 다르게 증착 하였고 X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS)를 사용하여 박막의 Si 농도를 측정하였다. 증착된 박막은 질소 분위기 하에서 $5\;^{\circ}C$/min으로 열처리 하여 여러 온도와 Si 농도에서의 박막의 특성을 측정하였다. 열처리 전, 후의 박막은 X-ray diffraction (XRD) 분석을 통하여 각각의 온도에서의 구조적 특성을 분석하였다. 열처리 온도에 따르는 필름의 전기적 특성 파악을 위해서 four-point probe를 이용하여 박막의 면저항을 측정하였고 그 값은 3 회 이상 측정하여 평균값을 사용하였다. Nano-pulse scanner를 사용하여 다양한 파워범위와 펄스폭 범위에서의 박막의 상변화에 따른 반사도 차이를 측정하여 각 조성에서의 비정질-결정질상 변화속도를 분석하였다.

Fabrication and Characterization of Portable Electronic Nose System for Identification of CO/HC Gases (CO/HC 가스 인식을 위한 소형 전자코 시스템의 제작 및 특성)

  • A portable electronic nose system has been fabricated and characterized using an oxide semiconductor gas sensor array and pattern recognition techniques such as principal component analysis and back-propagation artificial neural network. The sensor array consists of six thick-film gas sensors whose sensing layers are Pd-doped $WO_{3}$, Pt-doped $SnO_{2}$, $TiO_{2}-Sb_{2}O_{5}-Pd$-doped $SnO_{2}$, $TiO_{2}-Sb_{2}O_{5}-Pd$-doped $SnO_{2}$ + Pd coated layer, $Al_{2}O_{3}$-doped ZnO and $PdCl_{2}$-doped $SnO_{2}$. The portable electronic nose system consists of an 16bit Intel 80c196kc as CPU, an EPROM for storing system main program, an EEPROM for containing optimized connection weights of artificial neural network, an LCD for displaying gas concentrations. As an application the system has been used to identify 26 carbon monoxide/hydrocarbon (CO/HC) car exhausting gases in the concentration range of CO 0%/HC 0 ppm to CO 7.6%/HC 400 ppm and the identification has been successfully demonstrated.

Microstructure and Piezoelectric Properties of Low Temperature Sintering (Na,K,Li)(Nb,Sb,Ta)O3 Ceramics (저온소결 (Na,K,Li)(Nb,Sb,Ta)O3계 세라믹스의 미세구조 및 압전특성)

  • In this paper, piezoelectric ceramics with the composition of $(Na_{0.525}K_{0.4425}Li_{0.0375})(Nb_{0.8975}Sb_{0.065}Ta_{0.0375})O_3+0.3wt%\;CoO+x\;CuO$ ($0.005{\leq}x{\leq}0.025$) (abbreviated to NKL-NST) were fabricated for ultrasonic sensor application. The effects of CuO addition and sintering on the microstructure and the piezoelectric properties of the NKL-NST ceramics were systematically studied. Excellent piezoelectric properties such as electromchanical coupling $factor(k_p)=0.415$, piezoelectric constant $(d_{33})=166pC/N$ and piezoelectric figure of merit $d_{{33}*}g_{33}=5.47pm^2/N$ were obtained from the 2.5 mol% CuO doped NKL-NST+0.3 wt%CoO ceramics sintered at $1,000^{\circ}C$ for 3 h.

Dielectric and Piezoelectric Properties of (Na,K)(Nb,Ta,Sb)O3 Ceramics doped with Nb2O5 (Nb2O5 첨가에 따른 (Na,K)(Nb,Ta,Sb)O3 세라믹스의 유전 및 압전 특성)

  • In this study, in order to develop excellent lead free piezoelectric ceramics for piezoelectric actuators application, $Li_{0.04}(Na_{0.50}K_{0.50})_{0.96}[(Nb_{0.86}Ta_{0.10}Sb_{0.04})_{0.994}Co_{0.015}]O_3+0.0025SrO+0.15\;wt%K_2CO_3+x\;wt%Nb_2O_5$ (x = 0 - 0.5 wt%) (abbreviated as LNKNTSCS-xN) ceramics were fabricated by a conventional sintering technique. the phase structure, microstructure and electrical properties were investigated with a emphasis on the influence of the $Nb_2O_5$ content. High electrical properties of $d_{33}$=234 pC/N, kp=0.392, ${\varepsilon}_r$=1,395, ${\rho}=4.70g/cm^3$ were obtained from the specimen with x=0.4 wt%, which suggests that the composition ceramics is a promising lead-free piezoelectric material.
