Perpendicular Magnetic Anisotropy in Co/Pd Layer with TiO2 Seed Layer on the Various Substrates (TiO2 씨앗층을 이용한 다양한 기판에서의 Co/Pd 층의 수직 자기 이방성에 대한 연구)

  • We investigate the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy in $TiO_2$/Co/Pd on GaAs(100), MgO(100), MgO(111), Si(100), and glass substrates. We find that the roughness of $TiO_2$ depends on the $O_2$ partial pressure in the magnetron sputtering process. The perpendicular magnetic anisotropies are found in all substrates with $TiO_2$ seed layer, and the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy of Co/Pd system is insensitive on the type of the substrate when the thickness of $TiO_2$ seed layer is thicker than 5 nm. However, MgO(111) substrate promotes $TiO_2$ rutile (111) structure, and it causes largest perpendicular magnetic anisotropy in $TiO_2$/Co/Pd(111) structures.

  • MOS(금속 산화막 반도체 접합) 소자가 방사선에 노출되면, 산화막재에 양의 공간전하가 생성되고 Si-SiO2 계면에 계면준위가 생성된다. MOS 커패시터의 방사선 조사효과를 방사선 피폭량과 산화막의 두께를 달리하는 시편에서 정전용량과 전류변화를 측정하여 고찰하였다. 정전용량-바이어스 전압 특성 실험결과로부터 플렛밴드 전압 및 계면상태밀도를 계산하였다. 또한 전압-전류 특성은 방사선 조사로 산화막내에 생성된 양의 공간전하와 Si-SiO2 계면에 포획된 전하에 의해서 설명이 가능하였다.

Novel Synthesis of MnO2-SiC Fiber-TiO2 Ternary Composite and Effective Photocatalytic Degradation with Standard Dyes

  • In this work, we investigated the photo-degradation performance of MnO2-SiC fiber-TiO2 (MnO2-SiC-TiO2) ternary nanocomposite according to visible light excitation utilizing methylene blue (MB) and methyl orange (MO) as standard dyes. The photocatalytic physicochemical characteristics of this ternary nanocomposite were described by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), tunneling electron microscopy (TEM), ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis), diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), photocurrent and cyclic voltammogram (CV) test. Photolysis studies of the synthesized MnO2-SiC-TiO2 composite were conducted using standard dyes of MB and MO under UV light irradiation. The experiments revealed that the MnO2-SiC-TiO2 exhibits the greatest photocatalytic dye degradation performance of around 20 % with MB, and of around 10 % with MO, respectively, within 120 min. Furthermore, MnO2-SiC-TiO2 showed good stability against photocatalytic degradation. The photocatalytic efficiency of the nanocomposite was indicated by the adequate photocatalytic reaction process. These research results show the practical application potential of SiC fibers and the performance of a photocatalyst composite that combines these fibers with metal oxides.

Magnetic Properties of Cr/CoPtCr/$SiO_2$Thin Films for High Density Magnetic Recording Media (고밀도 자기기록매체용 Cr/CoPtCr/$SiO_2$ 다층박막의 자기적 성질)

  • CoPtCr magnetic layer was fabricated on the Cr underlayer by RF magnetron sputtering and the protective $SiO_2$ layer was deposited at room temperature. As the thickness of Cr underlayer increased, the coercive force of magnetic layer increased, then saturated slightly further increasing Cr underlayer thickness. Maximum coercive force was 860 Oe. It is thought that in-plane arrangement of magnetic phase and magnetic decoupling between the magnetic crystallites could lead to the increase of the coercive force. Post-annealing raised the coercive force exceedingly. and maximum coercive force value was 1650 Oe which was acquired from the sample annealed at 55$0^{\circ}C$ for 1hr.

  • SiO$_2$ 입자는 촉매, 촉매의 담체, 크로마토그래피를 위한 충진제등 여러 산업에 응용되고 있다.$^{1)}$ 본 연구 에서는 기능성을 가지는 입자를 제조하기 위해 SiO$_2$로써 기본적인 입자를 제조하고, 그 속에 소취특성을 가지는 TiO$_2$와 날염을 위한 EVA-microsphere를 포함시켜서 소취제로서, 그리고 날염 분체로서의 기능을 가진 입자들을 제조하고자 하였다. 실리카(silica)는 일반적으로 규소산화물을 지칭하는 명칭으로서, SiO$_2$뿐 아니라 결정구조상 4-6개의 산소원자로 둘러싸인 모든 형태의 규소산화물을 지칭 하는 것이고$^{2)}$ 수용액상의 물유리는 실리카 졸의 값싼 상품으로 산업분야에 널리 알려져 있다. Control of $NaAlSiO_4:Eu^{2+}$ photoluminescence properties by charge-compensated aliovalent element substitutions

  • We have conducted two kinds of the so-called charge-compensated aliovalent element substitutions to control the photoluminescence properties of $NaAlSiO_4:Eu^{2+}$ with a special focus on the enhancement of the excitation intensity at 400 nm. The aliovalent element substitutions include cation-cation and cation-anion co-substitutions according to the general formulas $Na_{1-x}M_xAl_{1+x}Si_{1-x}O_4:Eu^{2+}$ and $Na_{1-x}M_xAlSiO_{4-x}N_x:Eu^{2+}$ (M = $Mg^{2+}$, $Ca^{2+}$, and $Sr^{2+}$), respectively. The increase in the relative excitation intensity at 400 nm has been achieved in both types of the co-substitutions. Thus, the present research has demonstrated the effectiveness of the charge-compensated element substitution.

  • The reduction behavior of $TiO_{2}$ in Al and Al/CaSi containing self-reducing $TiO_{2}$ briquettes(SRTB) was investigated. The maximum yield of Ti was expected with the slag composition of 45-55%CaO in the $CaO-Al_{2}O_{3}$ system. When $CaCO_{3}$ was used as a flux, the oxidation loss of reducing agent by $CO_{2}$ should be compensated, and therefore it leads to excessive requirement of the reducing agent. By using Al and CaSi mixture as a reducing agent of $TiO_{2}$, the reaction products both oxide and metal could be liquefied, and separated effectively with each other. As a result, the yield of Ti increases remarkably. The optimum mixing ratio of CaSi to Al is 78%CaSi-22%Al.
