This study was conducted to investigate the antler induction rate and production by artificial induction of antlerogenesis using $CaCl_2$ injection on both periosteum around area of horn development for the frontal bone of a female elk deer which do not have an antler. The results obtained from eleven deers for verifying effect of the female's antler induction on reproduction are as follows: The antler development induction by $CaCl_2$injection is higher on the treatments of 30 and 50% of $CaCl_2$ injection than those on the treatments of 15 %. The antler production is higher on the 30 % $CaCl_2$ injection than those of 15 and 50 % $CaCl_2$ injection. For 30 % $CaCl_2$ injection, the antler production is higher in 1.5 and 2.0 ml of % $CaCl_2$ injection than the other injection level. After the induction of antler development, the birth rate is not changed as of 75~100 %, while the regeneration rate of the antler which was not constant in approximately 45 % for five among eleven female deer. With these results, we assume that the injection concentration and amount of $CaCl_2$ injection are around 30 % and 1.5 and 2.0 ml level which can be not only most effective conditions for the antler induction rate and production, but also these conditions do not influence the reproduction during the period of the female elk's antler development induction.
The $Ca_{1-x}$Sr$_{x}$S:CuCl TFEL devices were fabricated by electron-beam deposition system and luminescent characteristics of the TFEL devices were studied. The SrS and CaS powders were mixed to form $Ca_{1-x}$Sr$_{x}$S host materials and 0.2 at% of CuCl was added as the activator. The luminance(lao) and peak emission wavelength of CaS:CuCl TFEL devices were 9.5 cd/m$^2$ and 492 nm, respectively. The luminance(L$_{30}$) and peak emission wavelength of SrS:CuCl TFEL devices were 633 cd/m$^2$ and 500 nm, respectively. It seems that the addition of CaS into the SrS host material generates blue shift of the EL emission characteristics but reduces the luminance and the luminous efficiency of the $Ca_{1-x}$Sr$_{x}$S:CuCl TFEL devices drastically.

Solubility on $(LiBr+CaCl_2)$ in water has been measured systematically and compared with those of pure LiBr. It has been observed that there exists optimum value of $CaCl_2(LiBr+CaCl_2)$ in solubility when total$(LiBr+CaCl_2)$ concentration is higher than 57wt%. As total concentration increases up to 65wt%, it is found that the optimum value also increases monotonically. From the experimental results, a master plot has been constructed, with which optimum ratio of LiBr to $CaCl_2$ can be found in terms of total concentration. Vapor pressure of $H_2O/(LiBr+CaCl_2)$ solution with optimum contents of $CaCl_2$ has been observed to be changed negligibly at relatiely low temperature. However, as temperature increases, it is found that increasement in vapor pressure is significant.
A formation and conversion of AFm phases decisively play role in the hydration, hardening and corrosion processes of various cement. In this study, the conversion of Alumino-Ferrite Monohydrates(AFm) phases under the addition of $CaCO_3,;CaCl_2;and;CaSO_4{cdot}2H_2O$was investigated by the XRD quantitative analysis. The thypical AFm phases are $M_S(monosulfoaluminate),;M_C(monocarboaluminate);and;M_{Cl}(monochloroaluminate and also Called Friedel's salts)$in this cementitious system, The conversion reaction were not occurred in $M_C-CaCO_3,;M_{Cl}-CaCO_3$ and $M_{Cl}-CaCl_2$system. However, in $M_S-CaCO_3$ system, ettringite and $monocarboaluminate(M_C)$ were formed. In $M_S-CaCl_2;system;M_S$ was transformed to Friedel's $salts(M_{Cl})$ and ettringite was formed. In the case of $CaSO_4{cdot}2H_2O$ addition, all AFm $phases(M_S,;M_C;and;M_{Cl})$ were transformed to ettringite. The order of stabilization of AFm phases under $CaCO_3,;CaCl_2;and;CaSO_4{cdot}2H_2O$ was as follows : $M_S< M_C
The effects of $CaCl_2$ foliar application on inhibition of the occurrence of abnormally fermented fruit and chemical composition of oriental melon (Cucumis melo L. var. makuwa Mak. cv. Gumssaragi-eunchun) were examined. $CaCl_2$, applied at 0.3~0.7%, had an apparent inhibitory effect on occurrence of abnormally fermented fruit when sprayed three times at five days intervals from 10 days after flowering. The effect of $CaCl_2$ was diminished when the field was irrigated during the ripening period. Sugar content in the fruits was not affected by the $CaCl_2$ treatment. The Ca content was higher in the normal fruit than in the fermented ones, but no difference was noted in the K and Mg levels. The occurrence of fermented fruit was increased when the applying nitrogen levels were less (10kg) or higher (25kg/10a) than normal supply. The nitrogen application had no effect on the calcium content in fruits.

This experiment was carried out to determine the effect of CaCl2 foliar spraying on the inhibition of blossom-end rot (BER) in hot summer paprika (Capsicum annum L. 'Special') cultivation. The effect of CaCl2 application was examined by the foliar application based on different fruit size, frequency, and spraying time. Also, it was investigated the occurrence and alleviation effect of BER symptom. Foliar application of CaCl2 (Ca 0.4%) was conducted by treating a fruit and leaf at 4 to 9 nodes above the crown flowers of each plant with 350 mL per week from June 3 to July 1. When the CaCl2 was sprayed at 7-day intervals for 4 weeks, the Ca content was the lowest in the fruit harvested with BER symptom in 11 to 20 mm of fruit width (FW). Four different regions in both BER symptom and normal fruits showed significant differences of Ca content, the highest was in pedicel, followed by stem-end, middle, and blossom-end. The Ca content increased sharply in normal paprika with 31-40 mm FW, in which Ca content was 78% higher than that of BER. Ca content in the middle and blossom-end of paprika over 21 mm in FW ranged 19.8% to 28.8% in normal fruits and 15.7% to 18.5% in BER, respectively. The incidence of BER increased rapidly by more than 60% in fruits with 31-40 mm FW. While there was no difference in fruit weight among the FW treatment, marketable yield rate was highest in the 21-30 mm FW, and the sugar content was high in the 11-30mm FW. When CaCl2 was applied three times for 7 days to a paprika having a 21- 30 mm FW, the cell wall-bound (CWB) Ca content was the highest and the rate of BER was lowest with 6.3%. After 10 days of CaCl2 foliar spray treatment, the CWB Ca content of paprika increased by 2.9 to 3.5 times compared to the control in all treatments. At 7 days after the CaCl2 foliar spraying once a day at varying spraying time, the leaf burn observed from 9:30 a.m. to 17:00 p.m. and the proline content increased as the spraying time was delayed. Therefore, the CaCl2 foliar spraying method for reducing of BER occurrence during paprika summer cultivation seems to be appropriate to spray 2-3 times at intervals of 3 days and before 8 a.m. at the time when the FW is 21-30 mm.
In this paper, with water-LiCl-$CaCl_2-Zn(NO_3)_2$ mixture which utilizes solar energy at the evaporator heat source, a thermodynamic analysis was performed to provide design data for a double-effect absorption heating system. A comparative study of the water-LiCl-$CaCl_2-Zn(NO_3)_2$ mixture against the water-LiBr pair was conducted by a computer simulation. The computer simulation is based on mass, material and heat balance equations for each part of the system. Coefficients of performance and flow ratios for effects of different operating temperatures are investigated. It is found that the heating COP is higher for the water-LiCl-$CaCl_2-Zn(NO_3)_2$ mixture than for the water-LiBr pair, and FR is lower for the former.
An EPDM article was aged in air, distilled water, tap water, NaCl/$CaCl_2$ solution, and $CaCl_2/FeCl_3$ solution for 7 days. The aging temperature was $90^{\circ}C$. The samples aged in air and distilled water did not appear the whitening, those aged in tap water, NaCl/$CaCl_2$ solution, and $CaCl_2/FeCl_3$ solution showed the whitening. Soluble organic materials were analyzed using GC/MS to identify the whitening materials, surface morphology of the aged sample surface was examined using image analyzer and SEM, and elemental analysis of the materials accumulated on the sample surface was performed using EDX. Principal reason to cause whitening might be formation of metal salt of fatty acid by reaction between metal cation and fatty acid.
The electrolysis of tungstic oxide dissolved in the bath of calcium chloride and calcium oxide was studied to produce metallic tungsten using carbon as anode and iron as cathode in the temperature range of 900^{\circ}$ to $1200^{\circ}C$. The binary phase diagrams $CaCl_2$-CaO and $CaCl_2-CaWO_4$ systems were constructed to determine the suitability of bath composition and the range of temperatures for the electrolysis. As $WO_3$ reacted with $CaCl_2$ to form oxychloride in the fused salt, the addition of the proper amount of CaO was necessary to avoid the loss of $WO_3$. The optimum compositions of fused bath were $CaCl_2$ 100 parts, CaO and $WO_3$ each 10 to 20 parts, with the CaO, $WO_3$ ratio greater than unity, to keep freezing point low and to prevent the vaporization of $CaCl_2$. The observed decomposition voltage at which $WO_3$ decomposes to W and CO was-0.1 volt, whereas the calculated was -0.3 volt. Metallic tungsten deposited at the cathode reacted easily with CO formed secondarily at the anode surface, to form WC below $1050^{\circ}C$, so that the cell temperature should be above $1050^{\circ}C$. The effects of cathode current densities on current efficiency were minor in the range of 1 to 5 $amp/cm^2$.
An investigation was carried out to study the feasibility of tofu preparation with using isolated soyprotein(ISP) only. The ISP tofu was prepared by boiling the ISP suspension for 2 min before addition of coagulants. Effects of coagulants($CaSO_{4},\;CaCl_{2}\;MgCl_{2}\;GDL$) and coagulation temperature in the range of $2{\sim}95^{\circ}C$ were studied on the amounts of coagulants required, size and shape of coagulates, volume yield and textural properties of tofu. It was found that amounts of coagulants and tofu volume was significantly reduced and the larger and cloud-like shape was obtained as the coagulation temperature increased. A rather precipitation was occured under $40\;or\;50^{\circ}C$, which caused difficulty for tofu formation by pressing. GDL and $CaSO_{4}$ showed higher yields than those of $CaCl_{2}\;and\;MgCl_{2}$ at low temperature range and little difference at high temperature. In the textural properties of hardness, brittleness and gumminess of tofu were almost lineary and rapidly increased as the coagulation temperature increased where $CaCl_{2}\;and\;GDL$ produced highest and lowest of those values, respectively. The elasticity was reduced as the temperature increased for those made with $MaCl_{2},\;CaSO_{4}\;GDL\;and\;CaCl_{2}$, tofu showed little change.
