변성암석학과 구조지질학에서 석류석 반상변정의 중합적인 의의: 조산운동의 온도-압력-변형-시간 경로 해석

  • 석류석은 변성 온도와 압력을 계산하는 지온지압계에 널리 사용되며, 또한 이들 내부엽리와 외부엽리와의 접촉 관계를 이용하여 상대적인 변형작용의 시기를 밝히는 데 이용되어져 왔다. 석류석 반상변정 내의 내부 엽리 조직에 대한 정량적인 해석과 내부 미세 구조와 화학적 누대구조와의 관계에 대한 접근 방법은 석류석이 형성되는 동안에 온도-압력-변형작용의 진화 과정을 보다 정량적으로 해석할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 절대 연령 자료와 결합은 조산 운동 동안 발생하는 다변성/다변형 작용의 특징 보여주는 온도-압력-변형-시간 경로를 규명할 수 있다. 미국 메사추세츠 주 북중부 지역에서 십자석, 남정석과 함께 산출되는 석류석 반상변정은 온도-압력이 증가(540-570 $^{\circ}C$, 4.0-5.0 kbar에서 620-637 $^{\circ}C$, 7.9-8.8 kbar 까지) 하면서 성장하였다. 또한 이와 같은 변성작용 동안 압축 변형 방향은 다음과 같은 순서로, NE-SW, NW-SE, N-S 그 다음 E-W 방향으로 변화하였다. 결론적으로 이와 같은 변성작용과 변형작용은 주로 고생대 중기 데본기 동안에 일어났던 아카디안 조산운동으로 특징 지워 지며, 후기 알레게니안 조산운동에 부분적으로 영향을 받은 것으로 판단한다.

A Context Free Grammar based Algorithm for Generating Playable Transcoding Paths of the Multimedia Presentation with Different End-to-End QoS (종단간 상이한 QoS를 갖는 멀티미디어 연출 재생을 위한 CFG 기반의 변환 경로 생성 알고리즘)

  • Since various terminals and different networks get involved in playing of a multimedia presentation, the case that the presentation QoS at a destination should be different from the QoS of multimedia data at a source occurs frequently. For playing the multimedia presentation, the multimedia data at a source should be transcoded into the multimedia data satisfying the QoS required at the terminal. The problem of generating the transcoding path is that, for a given multimedia presentation, different transcoding paths depending the terminal and networks should be generated. That is, a fixed transcoding path cannot be applied to a multimedia presentation. Instead, whenever the terminal and network to play the presentation get determined, a proper transcoding path should be regenerated automatically. In this paper, the algorithm for generating the transcoding path and the method for checking the playability of the generated path are proposed. The generating algorithm adopted the technique of Context Free Grammar in describing the set of transcoding resources and a user's transcoding rules in order to utilize the well-known compiler techniques. For the playability check, a method of computing the transcoding time and the delay time between data units are proposed. Finally all the proposed methods were implemented in the stream engine, called Transcore and the presentation-authoring tool, called VIP, we had developed. And the test results with a sample scenario were presented at the last.

A Study on the Recrystallization Behavior of Zr-xSn Binary Alloys (Zr-xSn 이원계 합금의 재결정에 관한 연구)

  • To investigate the effect of Sn on the recrystallization of Zr-based alloys. Zr-xSn (x=0.5, 0.8, 1.5, 2.0wt.%) alloys were manufactured to be the sheets through the defined manufacturing procedure. The specimens were annealed at $300^{\circ}C$ to $800^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. The hardness, microstructure and precipitate of the alloys with the annealing temperature were investigated by using micro- knoop hardness tester, optical microscope(O/M) and transmission electron microscope(TEM), respectively. The cold-worked Zr-xSn alloys showed the typical behavior of the recovery. recrystallization, and grain growth. The recrystallization of Zr-xSn alloys occurred between $500^{\circ}C$ and $700^{\circ}C$. As the Sn content increased. the recrystallization temperature of the cold-worked alloys increased but their grain sizes after recrystallization decreased. It is suggested that the recrystallization of the cold- worked Zr alloys be occurred by the subgrain coalescence and growth mechanism.

Effect of Harvest Time, Precooling, and Storage Temperature for Keeping the Freshness of 'Maehyang' Strawberry for Export (수출딸기 '매향'의 신선도 유지를 위한 수확시간, 예냉 및 저장온도의 효과)

  • This study was conducted to examine effects of harvest time (09:00 vs. 14:00), precooling at $4^{\circ}C$ vs. no precooling, and storage temperature (4 vs. $8^{\circ}C$) on the storage life of 'Maehyang' strawberry fruits for export. Fruits at a 60% ripe stage were harvested from a commercial greenhouse in Gyeongsangnamdo, Jinju on May 4, 2010. Fruits were precooled by a forced draft cooling for three hours, transported for about 30 minutes and then stored, immediately. Small precoolers set in the farm were used for precooling. Fruits were placed in constant temperature chamber (4 or $8^{\circ}C$) after packaging using PVC wrap and a cardboard box. Fruits were examined for their changes in weight, hardness, Hunter color values, soluble solids content (SSC), and incidence of gray mold (Botrytis cinerea) during storage at a two days interval from May 6 to May 14, 2010. Hardness and SSC decreased as the ripening stage progressed. The Hunter's 'L' and 'a' value of fruit color decreased as time passed. Also, fresh weight decreased during storage at all temperatures. Soft rot appeared on epidermal tissues and followed by gray mold. Incidence of gray mold was greater at $8^{\circ}C$ storage temperature than in $4^{\circ}C$ storage temperature. However, no difference by the harvested time and precooling. The results indicate that effectiveness for keeping the freshness was best achieved by precooling at $4^{\circ}C$ and storage at $4^{\circ}C$, respectively.

  • Brevibacterium lactofermentum, a gram-positive bacteria, has both the diaminopimelate (DAP) pathway and meso-DAP-dehydrogenase (DDH) pathway for L-lysine biosynthesis. To investigate importance of DDH pathway and the related ddh gene in lysine production, we introduced site-specific mutagenesis technique. A 300 bp DNA fragment central to the meso-DAP-dehydrogenase gene (ddh) of B. lactofermentum was used to inactive chromosomal ddh gene via homologous recombination. Southern hybridization analysis confirmed that the chromosomal ddh gene was disrupted by the vector sequence. The B. lactofementum ddh mutant obtained have an inactive DDH pathway. The results reveal that inactivation of the ddh gene in B. lactofermentum leads to dramatic reduction of lysine production as well as decrease of the growth rate, indicating that the DDH pathway is essential for high-level lysine production as well as biosynthesis of meso-DAP.

Durability of Ultrarapid-Hardening Polymer-Modified Concretes Using Metakaolin (메타카올린을 혼입한 초속경 폴리머 시멘트 콘크리트의 내구특성)

  • The effects of polymer-binder ratio and metakaolin content on the properties of ultrarapid-hardening polymer-modified concretes using metakaolin are examined. As a result, regardless of the metakaolin content, the flexural, compressive and adhesion in tension strength of the ultrarapid-hardening polymer-modified concretes tend to increase with increasing polymer-binder ratio. Regardless of the polymer-binder ratio, the strengths of the ultrarapid-hardening polymer-modified concretes increase with increasing metakaolin content, and reaches a maximum at metakaolin content of 5%. The water absorption, carbonation depth and resistance of chloride ion penetration of the ultrarapid-hardening polymer-modified concretes decrease with increasing polymer-binder ratio. The resistance of freezing and thawing improvement is attributed to the improved bond between cement hydrates and aggregates because of the incorporation of polymer dispersion.

Combined Foliar Spray of Boron, Calcium, and Silicon can Influence Quality and Shelf Life of Cherry Tomato in Modified Atmosphere Packaging (붕소, 칼슘, 규소의 복합 엽면시비가 방울토마토의 품질과 MAP 조건에서 저장성에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was analyzed the effects of boron (B), calcium (Ca), silicon (Si) on quality and shelf life of 'Unicorn' cherry tomato at the light red maturity-stage. The storage conditions were modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) by oxygen transmission rate (OTR) packaging film at $5^{\circ}C$, $11^{\circ}C$, and $24^{\circ}C$. Respiration and ethylene production were the lowest in B + Ca + Si -treated tomato fruits. The lowest fresh weight loss and the longest shelf life resulted from the B + Ca + Si treatment. And the firmness was enhanced by B + Ca + Si treatment at harvest time, and it was retained after storage at $5^{\circ}C$, $11^{\circ}C$, and $24^{\circ}C$. Significantly lower soluble solids, lycopene, and color development were found at B + Ca + Si-treated tomato fruits compared with control after storage. Moreover, the highest titratable acidity and vitamin C content were observed in B + Ca + Si-treated tomato fruits after storage. From the above results, it was concluded that B + Ca + Si combined treatment can delay the maturity of cherry tomato after harvesting, and retained the firmness and prolong the shelf life.

Fire-Retardation Properties of Silicone/Perlite Composites (실리콘/펄라이트 복합체의 난연 특성)

  • 최근 세계 각지에서 발생하는 대규모 터널 화재사고는 많은 사상자를 동반하고 이에 따른 경제적, 사회적 손실 또한 방대하게 진행되는 실정이다. 터널 구조물의 화재 특성상 외부에 쉽게 노출되지 않기 때문에 화재 발생 시 화재에 노출된 표층이 박리되거나 비산해서 단면결손이 생기는 폭렬 현상(explosive spalling)이 발생하게 된다. 이러한 폭렬 현상은 붕괴와 같은 대형 참사로 이어질 가능성이 크다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 터널 내 화재 발생 시 콘크리트 구조물의 폭렬에 의한 붕괴를 예방하기 위하여 이액형 상온경화 실리콘 고무와 인체에 무해한 친환경 첨가제인 펄라이트를 일정한 혼합비(5wt%, 10wt%, 15wt%, 20wt%)로 혼합하여 고성능 난연 복합체를 제조하고, 열적 특성과 난연 특성을 연구를 진행하였다. 열적 특성에 관한 시험으로 TGA를 측정하였으며, 난연 특성에 관한 시험으로는 화염 시험, 내화로 시험, 탄화로 시험을 진행하였다. 우선 TGA 시험은 $20^{\circ}C/min$ 승온 속도로 $800^{\circ}C$까지 실험을 하였고, 화염 시험은 제작한 시편과 gas torch($1200^{\circ}C$)의 화염 거리를 약 10cm로 하여 약 1시간 동안 시험을 하였다. 내화로 시험은 내화로 장치를 이용하여 RABT curve(5분만에 $1200^{\circ}C$도달 후 한 시간 동안 유지 후 냉각, 총 시험 시간 180분) 조건을 만족하는 환경에서 제작한 시편을 콘크리트에 부착하여 콘크리트의 내부온도를 측정하였다. 탄화로 시험은 탄화로 장치를 이용하여 $2^{\circ}C/min$ 승온속도로 $900^{\circ}C$까지 실험을 하여 외부 형태 변화를 관찰하였다. 각각의 시험 결과 TGA 열분해 결과 순수한 실리콘 고무보다 난연제인 펄라이트를 첨가했을 때 더 높은 온도에서 초기 분해 거동을 보였으며, 최종 잔류량은 80%를 보였고, 5 wt%의 펄라이트가 혼합된 시편의 최종 잔류량이 높은 것으로 보아 열분해에 가장 강한 조성임을 알 수 있었다. 화염 시험 결과 펄라이트가 혼합된 모든 시편에서 $300^{\circ}C$가 넘지 않은 결과를 보였다. 이는 제조된 복합체가 화염에 직접적으로 장시간 노출이 되어도 안전하다는 것을 알 수 있다. 내화로 및 탄화로 시험 결과 펄라이트가 15wt%와 20wt%가 첨가된 시편들보다 5wt%와 10wt% 첨가된 시편들이 고온에서 안정하다는 것을 보였다.

Transport Distance Affects the Quality of Both Mature and Ripe Tomato Fruits (수송거리에 따른 녹숙 및 적숙 토마토의 품질변화)

  • Tomato fruits(Lycopersicon esculentum $M_{ILL}$.) picked at mature (from mature green to breaker) and ripe (from pink to red) stage were packed into two layers in corrugated fiberbox and transported 200km and 400km from the harvested site. Loss (abrasion + cracking) in marketability was lowest (11.0%) from mature + 200km transport, followed by mature + 400km transport(13.5%), ripe + 200km transport(28.5%), and ripe + 400km transport (45.5%). When data were pooled by fruit maturity, firmness of mature fruit was 1.55 times higher than ripe fruit. However, vitamin C content was 1.25 times higher in ripe fruit than in mature fruit. Fruit transported longer distance and packed in bottom layer within a box exhibited lower firmness and vitamin C content in both maturity. It was concluded that it is desirable to transport relatively shorter distance for ripe tomato and longer distance for less ripe fruit.
