유기계 방청제를 혼입한 표면피복재의 유해이온 침투저항에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Resistance to Penetration of Harmful Ions in Surface Coatings Material Containing Organic Corrosion inhibitor)

  • 일반적으로 크리트 구조물의 열화를 발생하는 가장 중요한 원인은 탄산화와 염소이온이다. 대체적으로 많은 콘크리트 구조물에서 탄산화와 염소이온으로 인하여 철근이 부식되며 이에 대한 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 특히, 최근에는 보수용으로서 콘크리트 보호용 표면피복재에 방청제를 함침시켜, 염화물을 포함하고 있는 콘크리트 내 철근의 부식을 억제하는 공법도 개발되어지고 있다. 이에, 본 연구에서는 기존 보수재료 보다 부식 억제가 우수하고 열화원인인 $CO_2$$Cl^-$를 고정하는 유기계방청제를 혼입한 표면피복재의 특성 평가를 위해 촉진탄산화 및 시차 열 중량분석(TG-DTA), CASS시험를 실시하여 특성을 실험적으로 평가하였다. 실험 결과, TG-DTA 분석과 촉진탄산화를 통하여 유기계방청제 혼입으로 시멘트 콘크리트에 $CO_2$가 아민유도체와 직접적으로 반응하여 탈 양성자화 되면서 산성상태의 물질을 생성하여 안정화된 상태, 즉 $CO_2$가 고정화되어 탄산화 억제효과가 있음을 확인 하였다. 또한, CASS실험에서도, $Cl^-$ 고정 특성이 있는 유기계 방청제가 혼입된 표면피복재를 도포한 시험체의 경우, 28일째까지도 적청 발생이 관찰되지 않았으며 염화물에 의한 철근 부식을 방지하는데 우수한 성능으로 가지고 있음을 확인하였다.

  • Injection molding of corrosive super engineering plastics and engineering plastics with various fillers is conducted under severe conditions and causes corrosion and wear problems. We have developed $Mo_2NiB_2$ boride base cermets, which have excellent corrosion-and wear-resistances, and tried to apply them into plastic molding machine parts. In this paper, the effects of V substitution for Cr on the mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and microstructure of Ni-5.0B-51.0Mo-(17.5-X)Cr-XV (mass%) model cermets were investigated. Both transverse rupture strength (TRS) and hardness increased monotonically with increasing V content and reached 2.94GPa and $87.2R_A$ at 10.0%V, respectively. The improvements of TRS and hardness were attributed to microstructural refinement.

  • The pH & alkalinity adjustment method by lime and carbon dioxide($CO_2$) for corrosion control in water distribution system was investigated to determine the optimum operational condition in lime adding process in water treatment plant(WTP). The mixing time at dissolution tank and sedimentation time at saturator for maintaining optimal turbidity condition of lime supernatant were 60~75 minutes and 75~95 minutes, respectively. There was no difference according to $CO_2$ adding methods such as $CO_2$ saturated water or $CO_2$ gas. But, $CO_2$ saturated water could be convenience at WTP in terms of pH control and quantitative dosing. To minimize generation of calcium carbonate products, the short time interval between adding of lime and $CO_2$ is most important. The lime should be added below 32 mg/l for preventing pH rising and generation of calcium carbonate products at the heating condition.

TiN피막 코팅된 치과주조용 합금의 부식거동 (Corrosion Behaviors of TiN Coated Dental Casting Alloys)

  • Corrosion behaviors of TiN coated dental casting alloys have been researched by using various electrochemical methods. Three casting alloys (Alloy 1: 63Co-27Cr-5.5Mo, Alloy 2: 63Ni-16Cr-5Mo, Alloy 3: 63Co-30Cr-5Mo) were prepared for fabricating partial denture frameworks with various casting methods; centrifugal casting(CF), high frequency induction casting(HFI) and vacuum pressure casting(VP). The specimens were coated with TiN film by RF-magnetron sputtering method. The corrosion behaviors were investigated using potentiostat (EG&G Co, 263A. USA) in 0.9% NaCl solution at $36.5{\pm}1^{\circ}C$. The corrosion morphologies were analyzed using FE-SEM and EDX. Alloy 1 and Alloy 2 showed the ${\alpha}-Co$ and ${\varepsilon}-Co$ phase on the matrix, and it was disappeared in case of TiN coated Alloy 1 and 2. In the Alloy 3, $Ni_2Cr$ second phases were appeared at matrix. Corrosion potentials of TiN coated alloy were higher than that of non-coated alloy, but current density at passive region of TiN coated alloy was lower than that of non-coated alloy. Pitting corrosion resistances were increased in the order of centrifugal casting, high frequency induction casting and vacuum pressure casting method from cyclic potentiodynamic polarization test.

Evaluation of corrosion resistance of Co-Cr alloys fabricated with different metal laser sintering systems

  • PURPOSE. The aim of this study was to evaluate the corrosion resistance of the specimens produced by five different commercial metal laser sintering (MLS) systems with their recommended Co-Cr alloy powders. MATERIALS AND METHODS. The MLS machines and the alloy powders used were, ProX 100-ST2724G (St-Pro), Mysint 100-EOS SP2 (SP2-Mys), EOSINT 270-EOS SP2 (SP2-EOS), SLM 100-Starbond CoS (SB-SLM), and MLab Cusing-Remanium® Star (RS-MLab), respectively. Eight specimens from each group were prepared. Open circuit potential (Eocp) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements of polished surfaces of the specimens were conducted in a three-electrode cell using a potentiostat-galvanostat in Fusayama-Meyer artificial saliva (AS). Specimens from each group were immersed in AS and de-ionized water for seven days. Eocp, charge transfer resistance (Rct) values, and released ions (㎍/㎠ × 7d) in different solutions were determined. The specimen surfaces were observed with SEM/EDS. Results were analyzed statistically. RESULTS. Eocp values have shifted to potentials that are more positive over time. Steady-state Eocp values were from high to low as follows, SB-SLM, SP2-Mys, SP2-EOS, RS-MLab, and ST-Pro, respectively. After 60 mins, RS-MLab specimens had the highest Rct value, followed by SP2-Mys, SB-SLM, SP2-EOS, and ST-Pro. In all groups, ion release was higher in AS than that in de-ionized water. CONCLUSION. There were small differences among the corrosion resistances of the Co-Cr alloy specimens produced with MLS systems; meanwhile, the corrosion resistances were quite high for all specimens.

  • Stainless steel is a metal that does not generate rust. Due to its excellent workability, economic feasibility, and corrosion resistance, it is used in various industrial fields such as ships, piping, nuclear power, and machinery. However, stainless steel is vulnerable to corrosion in harsh environments. To solve this problem, its corrosion resistance could be improved by electrochemically forming an anodized film on its surface. In this study, 316L stainless steel was anodized at room temperature with ethylene glycol-based 0.1 M NH4F and 0.1M H2O electrolyte to adjust the thickness of the oxide film using different anodic oxidation voltages (30 V, 50 V, and 70 V) with time control. The anodic oxidation experiment was performed by increasing the time from 1 hour to 7 hours at 2-hour intervals. Corrosion resistance according to the thickness of the anodic oxide film was observed. Electrochemical corrosion behavior of oxide films was investigated through polarization experiments.

기화성방청제 Dialkylamine (di-)nitrobenzoates 합성 및 방청성능 (Synthesis and Performance of Dialkylamine (di-)nitrobenzoates for Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor)

  • 방청제로 dialkylaminc (di-)nitrobenzoates 14개 화합물을 합성하고 첨가제 효과와 함께 방청성능을 조사하였다. 합성화합물은 원소분석, FT-IR, $^1H$-NMR 분석으로 확인하였으며, 합성한 화합물과 첨가제 [$(NH_4)_2CO_3$, $NaHCO_3$]의 방청성능은 방청제를 1 M $Na_2SO_4$ 용액에 1% (w/v) 용해시켜 potentiostatic method로 분극실험하여 조사하였다. 철에 대해 dialkylamine 3, 5-dinitrobenzoates보다 dialkylamine 4-nitrobenzoates 부동태화 전류밀도 ($i_p$)가 작았으며, diethylamine 4-nitrobenzoate 용액에서 낮은 값 ($i_p$; $4.78mA/cm^2$)을 나타내었다. 비철에 대한 $i_p$값은 dialkylamine 3, 5-dinitrobenzoates가 작았고 dipropylamine 3, 5-dinitrobenzoate와 hexamethyleneimine 3, 5-dinitrobenzoate가 낮은 값 ($i_p$; 36, $37mA/cm^2$)을 나타냈다. 방청제에 $(NH_4)_2CO_3$$NaHCO_3$ 첨가효과는 철에 대해 높은 부식억제 효과를 나타냈으나, 비철에서는 좋은 결과를 얻지 못하였다. 철용 방청제 diethylamine 4-nitrobenzoate와 $(NH_4)_2CO_3$, $NaHCO_3$의 최적 혼합비율은 4 : 6과 5 : 5이며, 부동태화 전류밀도 ($i_p$)는 0.26, $0.85mA/cm^2$의 최소값을 각각 나타내었다.

Effects of W Contents in Co Matrix of the Thermal Sprayed WC-Co on the Corrosion Behavior in Molten Zinc

  • This study sought to investigate the reaction of Co-binder containing tungsten with molten zinc. Four kinds of Co-W alloys (pure, 10%W, 20%W, 30%W) were prepared using the powder metallurgy method. The specimens were immersion-tested in molten pure zinc baths at $460^{\circ}C$. To evaluate the corrosion property in molten zinc, the weight loss of the specimen was measured after the immersion tests at different immersion times (10~300 min.). Co-10%W alloys, compared with pure cobalt, showed no effect of tungsten addition on the reaction rate in molten zinc. The relationship between the weight loss and the square root of immersion period represents a straight line in both pure cobalt and Co-10%W alloy. The Co-Zn reaction layer in Co- 1O%W alloy consists of $\gamma2$, $\gamma1$, $\gamma$ and ($\beta1$ phases. The rate of weight loss significantly increases and the weight loss behavior is not well accord with the linear relationship as the tungsten content in the Co-W alloy increases. The $\beta1$ layer was not formed on the Co-20%W alloy and neither was a stable Co-Zn intermetallic compound layer found on the Co-30%W alloy. The main cause of increase in reaction rate with increasing tungsten content is related with the instability of the Co-Zn reaction phases as seen on micro-structural analysis.

  • Two Fe-Cr steels of T22 steel and STS430 steel were corroded at 650 and 750℃ for 100hr in sewage sludge-(0.3% SO2-6% O2-10% H2O-balance CO2) mixed gas environment. T22 steel corroded faster than STS430, indicating that the Cr content significantly influence the corrosion rates. T22 formed thick and non-protective Fe2O3 as the major oxide and Fe3O4 as the minor one. With an increase in corrosion temperature, their corrosion rates increased, being accompanied with formation of pores and cracks in the thickened oxide scales that were non-adherent. STS430 steel formed Fe2O3, Fe3O4 as the outer scale and (Fe, Cr)-O as the inner layer by which its corrosion rate is greatly reduced. Both the T22 and STS430 steel samples formed multi-layered scales by outward diffusion of Fe ions and inward diffusion of oxygen and sulfur ions at high-temperature more than 650℃.

  • The increasing power and other demands on PWR fuel is leading to a demand for cladding that has low corrosion but that should also be robust with regard to mechanical behavior, impact of the irradiation environment and the coolant chemistry. The Optimized $ZIRLO^{TM}$ cladding is an evolutionary development of $ZIRLO^{TM}$ taking advantage of the long experience of the ZIRLO cladding but has significantly improved corrosion behavior. Recently, operation of Optimized ZIRLO to above 73 kWd/kgU has shown a reduction of the corrosion of almost 50%.
