Microwave Dielectric Properties of BaNd2Ti5O14−BaO−B2O3-K2O-SiO2-xTiO2 Glass Composites (BaO-B2O3-SiO2-K2O-xTiO2 Glass의 첨가에 의한BaNd2Ti5O14-Glass 복합체의 마이크로파 유전특성)

  • The effects of $TiO_2$ in the glasses on the shrinkage and dielectric properties of BNT-glass composites have been investigated. Without $TiO_2$ addition, BNT-glass composite showed two humps in the shrinkage curve, which are related with crystallization of $BaTi(BO_3)_2\;and\;Bi_4Ti_3O_{12}$. However, the increase of $TiO_2$ addition resulted in the decrease of 2nd hump in the shrinkage. The increased dielectric constant with $TiO_2$ addition might be due to the reduced crystallization of $Bi_4Ti_3O_{12}$. A dielectric constant of 52, a quality factor of 5088 GHz, and a temperature coefficient of resonant frequency of $-0.16ppm/^{\circ}C$ were obtained for a specimen containing $TiO_2$-added glasses, without sacrificing the benefits of high ${\varepsilon}_r$ and low TCF of BNT ceramics.

Preparation of Submicron Barium Titanate Powders. (초미립 $BaTiO_3$의 합성)

  • Barium titanate powder was made by firing the complex hydroxide which had been synthesized with chemical wet process by the medium of $H_2O_2$. This experiment was done as following A mixed solution of $BaCl_2$, $TiCl_4$ and $H_2O_2$ with 1:1:10 mol ratio was prepared. Ammonium hydroxide was added into the mixed solution. In the range of pH 8-10 $BaTiO_3$ complex hydroxide was obtained and treated at room temperature 11$0^{\circ}C$, 20$0^{\circ}C$, 40$0^{\circ}C$ and $600^{\circ}C$. The results obtaiined from this experiment were as follows. At room temperature $BaTiO_3$ complex hydroxide was amorphous. Above 10$0^{\circ}C$ crystalline $BaTiO_3$ was obtained and particle size of $BaTiO_3$ was increased with elevated temperature. So the particle size of BaTiO3 could be controlled by the firing temperature. After treating $BaTiO_3$ complex hydroxide at 10$0^{\circ}C$ the average particle size of $BaTiO_3$ was 0.22$\mu\textrm{m}$.

  • Ferroelectric anomaly in PbO-{{{{ { {B }_{2 }O }_{3 } }}-{{{{ {TiO }_{3 } }}-BaO glasses which is observed in DAT measurements was in-vestigated together with the effect of BaO content on the shift of Cuire temperature. The temperature where the ferroelectric anomaly apperars on cooling in DTA decreased in proportion with increasing BaO content,. For as-crystallized samples the ferroelectric anomaly was not observed on heating but on cooling whilist for powder samples leached chemically from the crystallized samples both endothermic and ex-otehrmic peaks were observed. This fact suggests that the appearance of the ferroelectric anomaly in DAT largely depends on glassy phases surrounding individual {{{{ {PbTiO }_{3 } }} crystals rather than effects of grain size and crystallinity.

  • This study is aimed at synthsizing high dielectric material (Ba, Sr)$TiO_3$ through direct wet process. Pure and ultra fine particle of (Ba, Sr)$TiO_3$ Powder was synthesized from $BaCl_2$ $SrCl_2$ and TiCl4 aqeous solution at KOH Solution in the $N_2$ gas atmosphere. $BaCl_2$ $SrCl_2$ and TiCl4 were Mixed with the mole ratio of 1:9, 3:7:10, 5:5:10, 7:3:10, 9:1:10 and sythesized at 4$0^{\circ}C$~9$0^{\circ}C$ for 10min~15hrs. The particle size particle shape crystallinity and synthesis condition of (Ba, Sr)$TiO_3$ powder with the variation of temperature and reaction time in the aqueous solution studied by the exprimental instruments of DTA. TGA, X-ray diffratometer SEM.

  • The BaTiO3 powders extensively used as MLCC (Multilayer ceramic capacitor) in electronic ceramic in-dustry were synthesized by GNP (Glycine-Nitrate process) The powders were prepared using carbonate and alkoxide as starting materials and nitric acid was used as a solvent for starting materials as well as an oxidant for combustion. The BaTiO3 powders were synthesized using different amounts of glycine as a fuel for combustion. The characteristics of synthesized powders were examined with helium pycnometer X-ray diffraction(XRD) Brunauer-Emmett-Teller with N2 adsorption and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). It was found that single phase BaTiO3 could be formed when the as-synthesized powders were heat-treated at 100$0^{\circ}C$ When the glycine/cation molar ratio was 1,2 specific surface area was 24m2/g

  • $BaTiO_3$ powder was synthesized by the solid-state reaction of fine $BaTiO_3$ and $TiO_2$ raw materials. Fine grinding media of 50 and 300 microns were used for obtaining fine particulate mixture of $BaTiO_3$ and $TiO_2$ with high homogeneity. Effect of the size of grinding media on the synthesis mechanism of $BaTiO_3$ was discussed on the basis of the particulate morphology and thermogravimetry data for the mixture powders. By using the finer grinding media, $BaTiO_3$ was formed at the lower temperature and the particle size with the relatively narrower distribution could be obtained. $BaTiO_3$ powder with the average size of 100 nm was synthesized by the solid reaction in vacuum atmosphere.

  • $BaTiO_3$는 대표적인 강유전체 재료로서 적층형 세라믹 콘덴서 (MLCC), PTC thermistor, resonator 등 다양한 분야에서 사용되고 있다. $BaTiO_3$ 기본조성으로 하는 PTC 써미스터는 온도가 올라감에 따라 저황이 높아지는 특성을 가지고 있으며, 이러한 PTCR 특성은 작동되는 큐리온도에 따라 그 적용이 달라진다. PTCR 소자는 소결온도, 소결분위기, 불순물, 첨가제 등의 제조공정상의 인자들과 기공률, 결정립 크기 등이 복합적으로 작용해 PTCR 특성에 영향을 미치기 때문에 제조하기에 무척 까다로운 소자로 알려져 있다. 하지만 우수한 특성을 지닌 PTCR 소자를 제조하기 위하여 새로운 조성개발이 이루어지고 있으며, 전기적 특성 개선, 재현성 확보, 제조원가 절감 등의 측면에서 새로운 공정개발이 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 Sm을 첨가한 $BaTiO_3$계 재료의 PTCR 특성에 미치는 Ti/Ba ratio 등의 변화에 따른 영향을 조사하고 공기 중과 환원분위기 중에서 소결된 시편의 차이점과 재산화 처리에 따른 PTC 특성에 미치는 영향을 R-T 측정으로 고찰하였다. 본 조성은 환원 분위기에서 소결할 경우 그 미세구조는 Ti/Ba ratio비가 높을 때 grain size가 커져 상온 비저항을 낮출 수 있었다. Sm 첨가로 상온 비저항값은 낮출 수 있었으나 공기 중에서 재산화 처리하더라도 jumping ratio$(R_{max}/R_{25^{\circ}C})$는 Ti/Ba ratio와 거의 무관한 것으로 분석되었다.

  • Microstructure, room temperature resistivity and temperature coefficient of resistance of BaTiO3 ceramics were characterized and measured in this study. The basic composition of the BaTiO3 cremics was formed by adding 0.25 mol% Dy2O3 and 0.07 mol% MnO2 to the BaTiO3 composition. Samples of the BaTiO3 ceramics were prepared by adding various amounts of the TiO2, SiO2 and Al2O3 to the basic composition. An addition of 1 mol% TiO2, 2 mol% SiO2 and 0.5 mol% Al2O3 to the basic composition resulted both the values of the room temperature resistivity and the temperatured coefficient being maxium. Meanwhile, an addition of 1 mol% TiO2 and 1 mol% Al2O3 to the basic composition resulted the value of the room temperature resistivity maxium and the temperature coefficient minimum. The temperature coefficient showed a maximum value as well as a minimum value when the three kinds of the additives were added together to the basic composition of the BaTiO3 ceramics. Maxed phases of BaTi3O7, BaTiSiO5 and BaAl2Si2O8 were present at the grain boundary.
