BaCeO3가 첨가된 BaZrO3의 미세구조 및 수소이온 전도도 (Microstructures and Proton Conductivities of BaZrO3 Modified by BaCeO3)

  • The dense sintered bodies with >95% theoretical densities were successfully obtained from the $BaZrO_3,\;BaCeO_3,\;Ba(Zr_{0.7}Ce_{0.3})O_3$ solid solution, and core-shell structured $0.7BaZrO_3-0.3BaCeO_3$ composite powders prepared by sol-gel methods. The activation energy of $Ba(Zr_{0.7}Ce_{0.3})O_3$ solid solution calculated from the Arrhenius plot of the proton conductivities was similar to that of $BaZrO_3$. The activation energy of core-shell structured $0.7BaZrO_3-0.3BaCeO_3$ composite, however, was much lower than that of $BaZrO_3$ or $Ba(Zr_{0.7}Ce_{0.3})O_3$ solid solution, and was very similar to that $BaCeO_3$. These results could be assigned to the Ce-rich grain boundary which was clearly observed by EDX in core-shell structured $0.7BaZrO_3-0.3BaCeO_3$ composite.

  • In this work, nano size $BaCeO_3$, which is a possible flux pinning medium of melt processed $YBa_{2}Cu_{3}O_x$ superconductor, was synthesized by the conventional solid state reaction method using powders. $BaCeO_3$ and $CeO_2$ were mixed thoroughly using a ball milling for 24 hours and calcined at $1200^{\circ}C$ for 5 hours for the formation $BaCeO_3$ powder. The obtained $BaCeO_3$ powder was attrition milled at various milling times of 60 min, 120 min and 240 min. The $BaCeO_3$ powders of various milling times were mixed with $YBa_{2}Cu_{3}O_x$ powder. Seed melt processed $YBa_{2}Cu_{3}O_x$-$BaCeO_3$ (15wt.%) superconductors were prepared and the superconducting properties were investigated. It was found that $T_c$ of $Y_{1.5}Ba_{2}Cu_{3}O_x$ samples was not significantly affected by $BaCeO_3$ addition, but $J_c$ of samples was increased by $BaCeO_3$ addition. The $J_c$ improvement by fine $BaCeO_3$ powder (120 min attrition-milled) was effective at low magnetic fields less than 2 T.

  • The effect of $BaCeO_3$ doping on the critical current density of YBCO film by TFA-MOD method was studied. $BaCeO_3$ doping was made by two method; one is direct addition of $BaCeO_3$ nano-sized powder prepared by citrate process followed by grinding with planetary ball mill for 10 hours. Another is addition of Ba-Ce precursor solution prepared with Ba-acetate and Ce acetate dissolved in TFA to the YBCO-TFA precursor solution. The film was made by standard dip coating and heat treatment process with conversion temperature of $790^{\circ}C$ in 1000 ppm oxygen containing moisturized Ar gas atmosphere. The direct addition of $BaCeO_3$ powder resulted in YBCO film with good epitaxial growth and no evidence of second phase formation. The addition through precursor solution resulted in the increase of critical current density upto 30 at% doping and uniform dispersion of $BaCeO_3$ fine inclusion was confirmed by SEM-EDX.

용융공정으로 제조한 Y-Ba-Cu-O/BaCe$O_{3}$ 초전도체의 자화특성 (Magnetization characteristics of melt-textured Y-Ba-Cu-O with BaCe$O_{3}$ addition)

  • BaCe$O_{3}$를 첨가하여 용융공정으로 제조한 단결정형 Y$Ba_{2}$$Cu_{3}$$O_{x}$(1-2-3) 초전도체의 온도에 대한 자화특성을 연구하였다. 고상반응법과 용융공정으로 0에서 30wt% BaCe$O_{3}$를 1-2-3 결정내에 미세 분산시켰다. 초전도체의 자화특성은 VSM(vibrating sample magnetometer)을 사용하여 77K, 60K, 40K와 20K, 2 Tesla 자장범위에서 측정하였다. BaCe$O_{3}$를 첨가하지 않은 겨우나 5wt% BaCe$O_{3}$를 첨가한 1-2-3 결정의 경우, 77K, 외부자장이 증가시 자화율 차이가 증가하는 비정상 자화특성이 관찰된다. 측정온도가 60K에서는 제2차 최대점이 나타나는 자장값이 고자장쪽으로 이동한다. 20K와 40K의 저온에서는 비정상자화특성이 2 T의 자장범위까지 관찰되지 않았다. 15wt%와 20wt% BaCe$O_{3}$첨가한 시편에서는 자장이 증가하면 자화율차이가 단순히 감소한다. Y-Ba-Cu-O의 flux pinning 기구를 BaCe$O_{3}$첨가에 의한 미세조직변화로 설명하였다.

  • BaCeO3 페롭스카이트 구조의 Ce4+ 자리에 3가의 양이온 (La3+, Yb3+, Al3+)을 10 mol% 첨가하여 열처리한 후 전기적 특성을 관찰하였다. 전기전도도 측정 결과 모든 조성에서 질소분위기에서 측정한 경우보다 대기 중에서 측정한 경우의 전기전도도가 높게 측정되었으며 이러한 경향은 온도가 높아질수록 두드러졌다. 전기전도도는 BaCe0.9Yb0.1O3-$\delta$조성에서 가장 높았고 BaCe0.9Al0.9O3-$\delta$ 조성에서 가장 낮았다. proton의 수송율(transference number)을 기전력 측정법을 통해 비교한 결과 Al을 첨가한 조성에서 모든 온도에 걸쳐 가장 높은 proton의 수송율을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • $BaTiO_3$는 일반적으로 $BaCO_3$$TiO_2$의 고상반응으로 얻어지는데 BaO의 활성이 높고 이차상이 생성되므로 순수하게 합성하기가 어렵다. 순수한 $BaTiO_3$를 얻기 위해서 공침법, 가수분해법등이 연구되고 있으나 출발 원료가 비싸고 제조 공정상 문제로 고상반응으로 합성한 것과 별차이가 없다. 그래서 고상반응의 공정을 개선하는 연구가 다시 진행되고 있으며 본 연구에서도 $BaTiO_3$를 고상반응으로 합성할 때 물성에 좋지 않은 영향을 주는 이차상인 $Ba_2TiO_4$의 생성기구를 밝히고, 그것을 조절하려 했다. $BaTiO_3$의 이론조성중 Ba가 과잉인 영역에서는 $Ba_2TiO_4$$TiO_2$가 과잉인 영역에서는 $BaTiO_2O_5$$BaTiO_3O_7$이 소지의 팽창에 원인이 되었다. 환원에서 소결되는 $CeAIO_3$$BaTiO_3$계의 유전체는 공기중에서 $CeAIO_3$가 분해되고 이때 생성되는 $CeO_2$$BaTiO_3$의 전기적 물성에 큰 영향을 주었다.

$CeO_2$/$BaTiO_3$이중완충막을 이용한 YBCO 박막 제작 (Fabrication of YBCO Superconducting Film with $CeO_2$/$BaTiO_3$Double Buffer Layer)

  • We have fabricated good quality superconducting YBa$_2$Cu$_3$$O_{7-x}$(YBCO) thin films on Hastelloy(Ni-Cr-Mo alloys) metallic substrates with CeO$_2$and BaTiO$_3$buffer layers in-situ by pulsed laser deposition in a multi-target processing chamber. YBCO film with CeO$_2$single buffer layer shows T$_{c}$ of 71.64 K and the grain size less than 0.1${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. When BaTiO$_3$ is used as a single buffer layer, the grain size of YBCO is observed to be larger than that of YBCO/CeO$_2$by 200 times and the transition temperature of the film is enhanced to be about 84 K. CeO$_2$/BaTiO$_3$double buffer layer has been adopted to enhance the superconducting properties, which results in the enhancement of the critical temperature and the critical current density to be about 85 K and 8.4$\times$10$^4$ A/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at 77 K, respectively mainly due to the enlargement of the grain size of YBCO film.ilm.

  • $CeO_2$를 첨가한 Y-Ba-Cu-0 초전도체를 포정반응을 포함한 준용용법으로 제조하여 미세조직과 초전도성을 관찰하였다. 첨가한 $CeO_2$는 포정반응중에 $BaCeO_3$로 변화하였으며, 이 $BaCeO_3$는 방향성 성장한 1-2-3 초전도상의 기지에 미세하게 분산된다. 초전도체의 $T_{c}$는 첨가된 $CeO_2$함량에 관계없이 90K 이상으로 매우 높았다. 이는 준용융공정을 적용함으로서 제2상물질을 초전도상으로부터 분리할 수 있었기 때문으로 사료된다.

  • Mixed-conducting oxide powders, $BaCe_{0.9}Y_{0.1}O_{2.95}$ (BCY) and $SrCe_{0.9}Y_{0.1}O_{2.95}$ (SCY) powders have been prepared by a solid-state reaction method. Xray diffraction patterns of the prepared powders showed the sharp peaks of the $BaCe_{0.9}Y_{0.1}O_{2.95}$ and $SrCe_{0.9}Y_{0.1}O_{2.95}$ phases. The oxide powders that were prepared by attrition milling showed rather large particles and severe necking between particles in FE-SEM images as well as residual reactant ($BaCO_3$) and secondary phases ($SrCeO_3$ and $CeO_2$) in XRD patterns. The oxide powders prepared using ball milling showed particles under approximately 500 nm and typical XRD patterns of the $BaCe_{0.9}Y_{0.1}O_{2.95}$ and $SrCe_{0.9}Y_{0.1}O_{2.95}$ phases. Ceramic membranes of the $BaCe_{0.9}Y_{0.1}O_{2.95}$ and $SrCe_{0.9}Y_{0.1}O_{2.95}$ phases were fabricated by the aerosol deposition method using the oxide powders synthesized.

고상법을 이용한 Y3Al5O12:Ce3+의 제조에서 BaF2가 미치는 영향 (Effect of BaF2 as a Flux in Solid State Synthesis of Y3Al5O12:Ce3+)

  • The effect of $BaF_2$ flux in $Y_3Al_5O_{12}:Ce^{3+}$(YAG:Ce) formation was investigated. Phase transformation of $Y_3Al_5O_{12}$(YAG) was characterized by using XRD, SEM, and TEM-EDS, and it was revealed that the sequential formation of the $Y_4Al_2O_9$(YAM), $YAlO_3$(YAP) and $Y_3Al_5O_{12}$(YAG) in the temperature range of 1000-1500$^{\circ}C$. Single phase of YAG was revealed from 1300$^{\circ}C$. In order to find out the effect of $BaF_2$ flux, three modeling experiments between starting materials (1.5$Al_2O_3$-2.5$Y_2O_3$, $Y_2O_3$-$BaF_2$, and $Al_2O_3$-$BaF_2$) were done. These modeling experiments showed that the nucleation process occurs via the dissolution-precipitation mechanism, whereas the grain growth process is controlled via the liquid-phase diffusion route. YAG:Ce phosphor particles prepared using a proposed technique exhibit a spherical shape, high crystallinity, and an emission intensity. According to the experimental results conducted in this investigation, 5% of $BaF_2$ was the best concentration for physical, chemical and optical properties of $Y_3Al_5O_{12}:Ce^{3+}$(YAG:Ce) that is approximately 10-15% greater than that of commercial phosphor powder.
