강유전체를 이용한 이동통신주파수 대역용 박형 전파흡수체의 제조 및 특성 (Fabrication and Properties of Thin Microwave Absorbers of Ferroelectric Materials Used in Mobile Telecommunication Frequency Bands)

  • High-frequency dielectric and microwave absorbing properties have been investigated in ferroelectric materials (BaTiO$_3$(BT), (1-x)Pb$Mg_{\frac{1}{3}}Nb_{\frac{2}{3}}$)O$_3$-xPbTiO$_3$(PMN-PT), (1-x)Pb$Mg_{\frac{1}{3}}Nb_{\frac{2}{3}}$O$_3$-xPb(Zn_{\frac{1}{3}}Nb_{\frac{2}{3}}$)O$_3$(PMN-PZN) for the aim of thin microwave absorbers in the frequency range of mobile telecommunication. The specimenns are prepared by conventional ceramic processing and complex permittivity has been measured by transmission/reflection method. The ferroelectric materials show high dielectric constant and dielectric loss in the microwave range and their domiant loss mechanism is considered to be domain wall relaxation. The microwave absorbance of BT 0.9PMN-0.1PT, and 0.8PMN-0.2PZN specimen (determined at 2) are found to be 99.5% (at a thickness of 4.5 mm), 50% (2.5 mm), and 30% (2.5 mm), respectively. It is suggested that PMN-PT or PMN-PZN ferroelectrics are good candidate materials for the spacer of λ/4 absorber. The use of ferroelectric materials is effective in reducing the thickness of absorber with their advantage of high dielectric constant.

Ba 변성 PMN-PT계 강유전체의 전계유기변위와 분극특성 (Field-induced Strain and Polarization Switching Mechanisms in Ba-modified PMN-PT Ceramics)

  • Dielectric property of Ba-modified 0.65Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-0.35PbTiO3 ceramics having compositions near the morphotropic phase boundary was investigated. For the specimens having Ba contents between 0 and 20 at%, the average transition temperature was decreased linearly with increasing Ba contents and the degree of hysteresis was also decreased with increasing Ba contents. The maximum dielectric constants (K), electric field induced polarization(P) and electrically-induced strain(S) were found to exihibit a maximum value at∼3 at% of Ba. The increase of S and the decrease of hysteresis by minor additions of Ba impurities indicated the development of new higher perfomance actuator materials. The composition of Ba-PMN-PT (10/65/35) may be appropriate for capacitor materials because of low hysteresis and high polarization.

기반암에 따른 나주지역 하상퇴적물의 지구화학적 특성 (Geochemical Characteristics of Stream Sediments Based on Bed Rocks in the Naju Area, Korea)

  • 본 연구는 나주지역 하상퇴적물에 대한 지구화학적 특성 연구이다. 이를 위해 1차 수계를 대상으로 139개의 하상퇴적물 시료를 채취하였다. 채취된 시료는 실험실에서 자연 건조시켰으며, XRF, ICP-AES, NAA를 이용하여 화학분석을 실시하였다. 기반암에 따른 지구화학적 특성을 알아보기 위하여, 화강암질편마암 지역, 편암류 지역, 화강암류 지역, 사질암 지역, 응회암 지역, 안산암 지역, 유문암 지역으로 분류하였다. 나주지역 하상퇴적물의 지질집단별 주성분원소 평균함량은 $SiO_2\;58.37{\sim}66.06wt.%,\;Al_2O_3\;13.98{\sim}18.41wt.%,\;Fe_2O_3\;4.09{\sim}6.10wt.%,\;CaO\;0.54{\sim}1.33wt.%,\;MgO\;0.86{\sim}1.34wt.%,\;K_2O\;2.38{\sim}4.01wt.%,\;Na_2O\;0.90{\sim}1.32wt.%,\;TiO_2\;0.82{\sim}1.03wt.%,\;MnO\;0.09{\sim}0.15wt.%,\;P_2O_5\;0.11{\sim}0.18wt.%$이다. 주성분원소의 평균함량 비교에서 $Al_2O_3$$K_2O$는 화강암질편마암 지역에서, $Fe_2O_3,\;CaO,\;P_2O_5$는 응회암 지역에서, MgO와 $TiO_2$는 안산암 지역에서, $Na_2O$는 유문암 지역에서 높고, $SiO_2$와 MnO 함량은 사질암 지역에서 약간 높다. 미량성분 및 희토류원소의 지질집단별 평균함량은 $Ba\;1278{\sim}1469ppm,\;Be\;1.1{\sim}1.5ppm,\;Cu\;18{\sim}25ppm,\;Nb\;25{\sim}37ppm,\;Ni\;16{\sim}25ppm,\;Pb\;21{\sim}28ppm,\;Sr\;83{\sim}155ppm,\;V\;64{\sim}98ppm,\;Zr\;83{\sim}146ppm,\;Li\;32{\sim}45ppm,\;Co\;7.2{\sim}12.7ppm,\;Cr\;37{\sim}76ppm,\;Cs\;4.8{\sim}9.1ppm,\;Hf\;7.5{\sim}25ppm,\;Rb\;88{\sim}178ppm,\;Sc\;7.7{\sim}12.6ppm,\;Zn\;83{\sim}143ppm,\;Pa\;11.3{\sim}37ppm,\;Ce\;69{\sim}206ppm,\;Eu\;1.1{\sim}1.5ppm,\;Yb\;1.8{\sim}4.4ppm$이다. Pb, Li, Cs, Hf, Rb, Sb, Pa, Ce, Eu, Yb 평균함량은 화강암질편마암 지역에서, Ba, Co, Cr 평균함량은 편암류 지역에서, Nb, Ni, Zr 평균함량은 사질암 지역에서, Sr 평균함량은 응회암 지역에서 높고, Be, Cu, V, Sc, Zn 평균함량은 안산암 지역에서 다른 지질집단에서 보다 높다.

미소변위 제어용 전왜세라믹스의 특성에 관한 연구 (A study on the characteristics of electrostrictive ceramics for micro displacement control)

  • 미소변위소자에 적합한 전왜세라믹스를 제조하기 위하여 0.85Pb(Zn$_{1}$3-x/MgxNb$_{2}$3/) $O_{3}$-0.10BaTi $O_{3}$-0.05PbTi $O_{3}$조성으로 Mg(mol%)를 변화시키면서 시편을 제조하고 구조적, 유전적, 전기적 특성 및 온도 안정성을 관찰하였다. 큐리온도는 Mg(mol%)가 증가함에 따라 감소하였고 Mg(mol%)가 0.15일 때 유전상수가 가장 높았으며 완만도는 -3.9, 산만도.DELTA.Tc는 21로 가장 컸다. 전계에 따른 유전상수는 감소하였고 Mg(mol%)가 증가할수록 압전정수 d$_{31}$은 감소하였으나 0.05, 0.10, 0.15일 때는 거의 일정하였다. Mg(mol%)가 0.15까지 증가함에 따라 전왜정수 Q$_{31}$은 감소하였고 그 이상에서는 Mg(mol%)가 1/3일때 가장 컸으며 ES-1시편에서의 AC 60(Hz), 11(kV/cm) 전계(electric field)에 의한 왜형을 253*$10^{-6}$을 나타냈다.

역사시대에 분화한 백두산 화산재의 화학 성분 (Geochemical Composition of Volcanic Ash from Historical Eruptions of Mt. Baekdu, Korea)

  • 백두산에서 역사시대에 분화한 화산재의 시료에 대하여 다양한 방법으로 주성분과 미량성분을 분석하였다. 화산재의 주성분 원소 함량은 $SiO_2$ 58.8~71.1 wt.%, $Al_2O_3$ 9.6~16.8 wt.%, ${Fe_2O_3}^T$ 4.5~6.9 wt.%, MgO 0.1~1.7 wt.%, CaO 0.3~1.6 wt.%, $Na_2O$ 5.2~6.3 wt.%, $K_2O$ 4.3~5.9 wt.% 그리고 $TiO_2$ 1.2 wt.%이하로 분석되었다. Ba, Cu, Cr. Co, Ni, Sr, V, Zn와 Zr을 포함하는 32개 미량원소가 분석되었는데, 이들 화산재는 일부 미량원소와 경희토류 원소의 부화정도에 따라 두 그룹(그룹 A, 그룹 B)으로 구분되며, 그룹 A에는 1천년 전의 밀레니엄 분화물, 1668년과 1903년 분화물이, 그룹 B에는 1702년 분화물이 해당된다. 중금속원소인 Cu, Co, Zn, Mn 등은 소량 함유되어 나타난다. 백두산 화산재는, 섭입대 기원의 일본 사쿠라지마 화산의 화산재와 비교하여, 미량성분원소 중 Y, Nb, Pb, U, Sc, V, Ni 그리고 Cu 함량은 낮게 나타나며, Zr, Ba, Hf, Cr, Co, Zn 그리고 희토류(Eu제외) 등은 높은 함량을 나타낸다.

  • The dielectric and electrical properties of $Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-PbTiO_3-BaTiO_3$ have been investigated. Perovskite crystalline phase of the specimens is confimed by XRD. The curie temperature decrease with increasing $BaTiO_3$ and hysteresis phenomena decrease with increasement of $BaTiO_3$. The strain vs. applied voltage characteristics exhibit nonlinear relationship and the specimen. of 0.9PMN-0.08PT-0.02BT shows the largest strain.

국내에 분포하는 화산암류중 금의 분포특징에 관한 연구 (Distribution Characteristics of Gold in the Volcanic Rocks, Korea)

  • One hundred of thirty volcanic rocks col1ected from the Jeju island, Jeongog, Guryongpo and other areas were analyzed for major elements and trace elements with Au by inductively coupled argon plasma and graphite furnace atomic absorptiom spectrometry. The Au content is the highest values (0.2~43.4 ppb, average; 10.34 ppb) from the Jeju island volcanic rocks and the lowest (0.5~11.0 ppb, average; 1.23 ppb) from the Guryongpo volcanic area. The content of Au tends to be higher in the Quarternary volcanic rocks than Tertiary or Cretaceous volcanic rocks. The Au content of the calc alkali volcanic rocks tends to increase from mafic to felsic volcanic rocks, but that of the alkalic volcanic rocks tends to increase from felsic to mafic volcanic rocks. The Au content of the volcanic rocks collected from the Jeju island shows the highest values in the feldspar olivine basalts. Elements or oxides which have positive or negative correlations with Au are Ag, Mo, Rb, V, Y, $K_2O$, MgO and $SiO_2$, but other elements analyzed are not shown correlations with Au. It has a tendency to show that samples from the Jeju with 5 ppb gold and more are plotted in the non-Dupal area and those with less than 5 ppb gold in the Dupal area, while those from the Jeongog with 5 ppb gold and more are plotted in the Dupal area and those with less than 5 ppb gold in the non-Dupal area, in the Ba/Nb-La/Nb, Zr/Nb-Ba/Nb diagrams. It shows that samples from the Jeju and Guryongpo with high gold content are plotted in the within-plate, while those with low gold content are plotted in the arc-related area, and those from the Jeongog are scattered in the $TiO_2-Al_2O_3$, $Zr/A1_2O_3-TiO_2/Al_2O_3$ diagrams.

ITO박막/세라믹유전체 구조의 이동통신 주파수대역용 박형 전파흡수체의 설계 및 제조 (Design and Fabrication of Thin Microwave Absorbers of ITO/Dielectric Structures Used for Mobile Telecommunication Frequency Bands)

  • For the aim of thin microwave absorbers used in mobile telecommunication frequency band, this study proposed a high permittivity dielectrics(λ/4 spacer) coated with ITO thin films of 377 $\Omega$/sq(impedance transformer). High frequency dielectric properties of ferroelectric ceramics, electrical properties of ITO thin films and microwave absorbing properties of ITO/dielectrics were investigated. Ferroelectric materials including $BaTiO_3$(BT), 0.9Pb($Mg_{1}$3/Nb$_{2}$3/)$O_3$-0.1 $PbTiO_3$(PMN-PT), 0.8 Pb (Mg$_{1}$3/$Nb_{2}$3/)$O_3$-0.2 Pb($Zn_{1}$3$_Nb{2}$3/)$O_3$(PMN-PZN) were prepared by ceramic processing for high permittivity dielectrics,. The ferroelectric materials show high dielectric constant and dielectric loss in the microwave frequency range. The microwave absorbance (at 2 ㎓) of BT, 0.9PMN-0.1PT, and 0.8PMN-0.2PZN were found to be 60%(at a thickness of 3.5 mm), 20% (2.5 mm), and 30% (2.5 mm), respectively. By coating the ITO thin films on the ferroelectric substrates with λ/4 thickness, the microwave absorbance is greatly improved. Particularly, when the surface resistance of ITO films is closed of 377 $\Omega$/sq, the reflection loss is reduced to -20 ㏈(99% absorbance). This is attributed to the wave impedance matching controlled by ITO thin films at a given thickness of high permittivity dielectrics of λ/4 (3.5 mm for BT, 2.5 mm for PMN-PT and PMN-PZN at 2 ㎓). It is, therefore, successfully proposed that the ITO/ferroelectric materials with controlled surface resistance and high dielectric constant can be useful as a thin microwave absorbers in mobile telecommunication frequency band.

  • The dielectric and electrical properties of $Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2\3})O_3-PbTiO_3-BaTiO_3$ have been investigated. Perovskite crystalline phase of the specimens are confirmed by XRD at $1270^{\circ}C$. The curie temperature is around $40^{\circ}C$ with the amount of $BaTiO_3$ and $PbTiO_3$. Every specimens shows the slim loop hysteresis curves which is electrostrictive characteristic. The strain vs. applied voltage characteristics exhibits nonlinear relationship, and the specimen of 0.85PMN-0.125PT-0.025BT shows the largest strain.
