This paper proposes a structure of low-power MOS current-mode logic circuit with sleep-transistor to reduce the leakage current. The sleep-transistor is used to high-threshold voltage transistor to minimize the leakage current. The $16\;{\times}\;16$ bit parallel multiplier is designed by the proposed circuit structure. Comparing with the conventional MOS current-model logic circuit, the circuit achieves the reduction of the power consumption in sleep mode by 1/50. This circuit is designed with Samsung $0.35\;{\mu}m$ CMOS process. The validity and effectiveness are verified through the HSPICE simulation.

Purpose of this paper is to determine the appropriate size of a center notched disk specimen for mode I fracture toughness $K_{IC}$. For this purpose, mode I test results with various sizes of center notched disk were compared with the RILEM three-point-bend test ones. Compressive strength of concrete used in this paper was 44.9 MPa. Diameters of 200, 300, 400 mm, thickness of 75, 100, 125 mm, and notch length ratios an of 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6 were used for the mode I disk test. Also, diameter of 300mm thickness of 100mm, and notch length ratios a/R of 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6 were used for the mixed mode disk test. Mixed mode stress intensity factors were investigated by changing notch angles for the disk specimen. Stress intensity factors of a center notched disk were calculated with the various methods for comparison. From the test results, mode I fracture toughness calculated from the disk specimen with diameter of 300 mm, thickness of Inn and notch length ratio a/R of 0.5 was very similar to the RILEM three-point-bend test ones. And it is verified that stress intensity factors for mixed mode can be easily calculated with the disk specimen.
This study compared the sound spectrums of pyeonjong remains and pyeonjong replica to investigate tuning ways of bells. pyeonjong remains, exhibited at King Sejong Memorial Museum and pyeonjong replica, played at the National Center for Korean Traditional Performance Arts were analyzed. To get mode frequencies and mode shapes, pyeonjong replicas' sound spectrums were analyzed and modal analyses by TV holography were performed. Also pyeonjong remains' sound spectrum were analyzed. Nominal frequencies on the pyeonjong replica and remains showed differences in a range between 9.8 cent and 203 cent. Two facts were inferred as causes of the differences, the tuning conditions of pyeonjong remains were not good and C4 in western tempered scale was preferred as the sound standard of Kukak, whangjong. Relative ratio of higher mode frequencies to the nominal frequencies were calculated to figure out tonal differences between two pyeonjongs. The differences in relative ratio of higher mode frequencies except (3,0)a and (3,0)b modes were significants as well as beyond the just noticeable difference. These results implied that the tonal differences between two pyeonjongs could exist. More pyeonjong remains are needed to be investigated to confirm this result in addition to the analyses of alloy components and bell structure of pyeonjong remains and replica.
The purpose of the present work is to derive the reflection and transmission coefficients of $S_0\;and\;A_0$ mode Lamb waves in relation to the geometry of a rectangular notch when the waves propagate across the notch in an elastic plate. Firstly, the excitable modes of the Lamb wave were analyzed with respect to the plate thickness. The scattering phenomena were divided into three independent processes according to the boundary shape of the notch and the direction of the wave propagation. Linear equations for each process were derived with corresponding free or continuous boundary conditions to analyze the scattered waves. By the rule of linear superposition, the waves scattered at each process were summed for each mode. Then the steady-state reflection and transmission coefficients of the scattered waves were determined so that the difference of energy flux between the incident and the scattered waves would remain within 4%.
Traveling wave type semiconductor optical amplifiers integrated with spot-size-converter (SSC-TW-SOA) have been extensively studied for the improvement of coupling effiClency With single-mode fiber and fO! the cost reducClon 111 a packaging In tlIis paper the slructural dependence of the spot-slZe-converter on the effective facet reflectlvllY $R_{eff}$ was experimentally as well as thcoretienlly mvestlgated. It was shown that not only a sufficient mode-conversion in a sse region along the latersl and tran~verse directions but also an introductIOn of angled-facet were very essential in order to reduce $R_{eff}$ Very small ripple less than 0.1 dB in an amplified spontaneous emission spectrum was observed with the fabncated SSC-lW-SOA which consists of the wrndow length of $20\mu\textrm{m}$, facet angle of $7^{\circ}$, and antlrelleetioll-coated facet of ] % reflectivity.tivity.

In this paper, we proposed a readout circuit of pulse waveform and rate for a U-health system to monitor health condition. For long-time operation without replacing or charging a battery, either pulse waveform or pulse rate is selected as the output data of the proposed readout circuit according to health condition of a user. The proposed readout circuit consists of a simple digital logic discriminator and a dual-mode ADC which operates in the ADC mode or in the count mode. Firstly, the readout circuit counts pulse rate for 4 seconds in the count mode using the dual-mode ADC. Health condition is examined after the counted pulse rate is accumulated for 1 minute in the discriminator. If the pulse rate is out of the preset normal range, the dual-mode ADC operates in the ADC mode where pulse waveform is converted into 10-bit digital data with the sampling frequency of 1 kHz. These data are stored in a buffer and transmitted by 620 kbps to an external monitor through a RF transmitter. The data transmission period of the RF transmitter depends on the operation mode. It is generally 1 minute in the normal situation or 1 ms in the emergency situation. The proposed readout circuit was designed with $0.11{\mu}m$ process technology. The chip area is $460{\times}800{\mu}m^2$. According to measurement, the power consumption is $161.8{\mu}W$ in the count mode and $507.3{\mu}W$ in the ADC mode with the operating voltage of 1 V.
We demonstrated a harmonic mode locking scheme that used regeneratie phase modulation to get a high and stable repetition rate in a figure-of-eight fiber soliton laser. From the detected beat spectra of the laser output, a sinusoidal clock freguency tone of 400 MHz, the 96th harmonics of the fundamental mode locking frequency, was extracted with a high Q filter and was used to drive the phase modulator, resulting in stable output of soliton pulse train synchronized with the modulation signal. Generated soliton pulses had FWHM pulsewidth of 930 fs and 3.1 nm linewidth, yielding pulsewidth-bandwidth product of 0.359 that was close to the transform limit. As the modulation frequency always followed the beat frequency of laser modes, stable harmonic mode locking was achieved without the adjustment of the cavity length, which has been commonly required in actively mode-locked lasers.

JVET (Joint Video Exploration Team) which explored evolving technologies of video coding with capabilities beyond HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding), released a references software codec named the Joint Exploration Model (JEM) for performance verification of coding technologies. JEM has 67 intra prediction modes that extend the 35 modes of HEVC for intra prediction. Therefore, the enhancement of the coding performance is limited due to the overhead of prediction mode coding. In this paper, we analyze the probabilities of prediction modes selections, and then we propose a more efficient intra prediction mode coding based on the results of analyzed mode occurrence. In addition, we propose a context modeling for CABAC (Context-Adaptive Binary Arithmetic Coding) of the proposed mode coding. Experimental results show that the BD-rate gain is 0.02% on the AI (All Intra) coding structure compared to JEM 7.0. We need to optimize context modeling for additional coding performance enhancement.

Purpose SPECT/CT scan to be performed attenuation correction on the basis of CT induce an overestimation of the site due to the beam hardening artifact by metal cover and reduce the images quality. Therefore, this study using a phantom that has been inserted artificial hip joint investigated that effect on the SPECT/CT image causing by metal artifact for varying the parameters of the Attenuation Map. Materials and Methods Siemens Symbia T16 SPECT/CT equipment was used. Artificial hip joint was inserted to SPECT/PET phantom, 17 mm sphere of Bright Streak area in CT image was filled with Tc-99m so that the radiation activity was 8 times compared to background. And then Hot and Background was measured in varying Wide Beam Coefficient on Attenuation Map and RBR (Region to Background Ratio) of Metal and Non-Metal was calculated and analyzed depending on the presence or absence of the hip joint. Results It tended to hot count of Non-Metal and Metal to increase as the value of the manual mode is increased, hot count ratio with the group of both manual mode 0.5 and 0.4 is the best match. Also, in automatic mode, the ratio of RBRNon-Metal and RBRMetal was 1.135, statistically significant difference was not observed in the manual mode 0.5 and 0.4. Conclusion In the automatic mode of Wide Beam Coefficient in attenuation correction map, it was found that it is over-correction by 13.52%, it was possible to minimize the over-correction by the artifact in 0.5 and 0.4 of manual mode. Further studies should be performed in order to apply to a patient with the help of this and it is considered possible to reduce the over-correction by the metal artifact of an artificial hip joint for Hip-Resurfacing Arthroplasty patients, and to improve the diagnostic performance.

In this paper, we propose a multi-mode wireless power transfer (WPT) system with a dual loop structure. The proposed multi-mode WPT system consist of outer loop module which can operate at two different frequency bands including 6.78 MHz magnetic resonance WPT mode and 13.56 MHz near field communication (NFC) mode and inner loop module connected with outer loop which can operate at two different frequency bands including WPC mode and PMA mode based on inductive coupling standards. In order to be able to embed this system into smartphone battery back cover, the electrical designs are optimized and then the size was fixed $45{\times}90{\times}0.35mm3$ (including ferrite sheet) which is the same commercial smartphone. The proposed multi-mode WPT module can cover WPC and PMA mode based on inductive coupling. Moreover, it has more than 20 dB return loss characteristics at two different frequency bands including 6.78 MHz and 13.56 MHz, and shows more than 70 % transfer efficiency between resonant coils at 6.78 MHz in magnetic resonant charging environment.
