  • The lack of industrial manpower that Korean companies have been suffering in 21st century is largely responsible for the low-fertility phenomenon. This research suggests an alternative solution with a program for fostering foreign laborers with technical skills in casting industry. Industrial manpower growth is feasible through accepting migrants who have had official education on the fundamental industrial technologies provided by Korean government. These technically trained migrants who can keep economical self-perpetuating ability are can help to effectively address the problem of the declining working-age population and the decreasing potential growth rate in Korea.

  • In the 21st-century postmodernism era, which represents diversity and relativity, one of the most essential elements in the field of education is to strengthen individual human values. Accordingly, we must focus on developing capacity in order to adapt to change. It is clear that the medical field maximizes the need for new judgments to solve life-related problems constantly, and this problem-solving capacity is an essential skill for a physician. Problem-solving capacity can be achieved simultaneously with creativity to apply them in an appropriate manner based on standardized expertise and well-trained skills. Creativity is also a key element that medical education is currently pursuing. Many studies on creativity have resulted in confusion and misunderstandings on the concept of creativity due to similar terms and varied definitions, such as creation, innovation, etc. In this study, we attempt to identify the importance of creativity in medical education by comparing and organizing concepts related to creative capacity.

  • As the direction of education in the fourth industry in the 21st century, convergence talent education that emphasizes the connection and convergence between core competency-based education and academia is emerging to foster creative talent. The purpose of this paper is to present the criteria for evaluating the competency of learning outcomes in order to develop a strategic model for innovation in engineering teaching-learning. In this paper, as a study to establish the direction of implementation of convergence talent education, a creative innovation teaching method support system was established to improve the quality of convergence talent education. Firstly, a plan to develop a teaching-learning model based on computing thinking. Secondly, it presented the development of a teaching-learning model based on linkage and convergence learning. Thirdly, we would like to present educational appropriateness and ease based on convergence learning in connection with curriculum improvement strategies based on computing thinking skills. Finally, we would like to present a strategic model development plan for innovation in engineering teaching-learning that applies the convergence talent education program.

  • In the 21st century, in a Knowledge-Based Information Society, systems thinking is a very important human resources skill in science and technology, which is required in STEAM education in order to understand and solve complex problems. The purposes of this study are: (1) to develop a STEAM education program based on systems thinking; (2) to investigate the effects of the program on students' systems thinking. The systems thinking-based STEAM education program was developed on the basis of 'ADBAS' model (Park & Lee, 2013), and focused on the theme of watermill. A total of 60 high school students participated in this study. The results of this study showed that quantitatively as well as qualitatively, systems thinking skills improved after the treatment. In conclusion, the program we developed in this study can contribute in improving high school students' systems thinking skills and creative problem-solving abilities. The findings of this study may provide useful insights into cultivating human resources with systems thinking skills and creative problem-solving abilities.

An Analysis of the Questions about Sewing Methods of Hanbok in Korea Skills Competition (기능경기대회에 출제된 한복분야 바느질법 분석)

  • Today Hanbok, the symbol of our nation's culture, has been preserved as cultural heritage despite natural and social environmental changes over years. This study is analyzing Hanbok which were taken in the National Skills Competition from 2000 to 2013; it presents our traditional stitching methods and clarifies the pride the Hanbok artisans have as inheriting the traditional heritage. Therefore this paper contributes to continuous and proper development of the culture of Hanbok and being loved by many people. The assignments about Hanbok featured in the National Skills Competition were categorized by national and local competition, time required to produce assignments, required amount of fabric, type of stitching, unlined and lined clothes depending on the type of assignment; according to the classification, methods for sewing were analyzed in detail. First, the national tournament presented 12 kinds of sewing techniques; especially hand-sewn stitching method appeared in common. Second, the unlined and lined clothes depending on the type of assignments had applied different sewing methods; double-stitching, flat fell seam, french seam, roll over sewing, blind stitch, right angle blind stitch, decorative saddle stitching, darning, etc. were used. Sewing methods in the 21st century has not changed over the years; the shape of clothes was changed upon trends. Sewing became easier than before by the invention of sewing machine, we should carry on our traditional sewing techniques. Through this analysis on sewing methods of the National Skills Competition, I hope to support competition participants for studying Hanbok and indicate proper sewing techniques.

However, to properly interact with people due to lack of feedback delay, reading and writing intensive courses is detrimental to the environment caused by a particular student, and Computer skills are based on computer-related technology to disadvantage poor students, and many have problems. In this paper, recent university education and cyber education requires a paradigm shift is required in an environment that factors affecting students' satisfaction were evaluated, and Improvement of cyber education will be studied.

A Study on ICT Competences of Korean Students Focus on PISA 2009 and 2012 (한국학생의 PISA ICT 능력 비교 연구 -2009년과 2012년)

  • In the 21st century knowledge and information society, students' ICT skills is a necessary tool. So, the OECD PISA survey and compares students' ICT skills across OECD countries by every three years. As a result, we are looking forward to reflecting on education. In this study, I analyzed the 2009 and 2012 PISA ICT statistics. Analysis items are as follows. Is any of these devices available for students to use at home or at school? How often do students use a computer for following activities at school? Analysis tools adopted a method to compare the ratios of the average. The results are as follows. In 2008, five items of availability of ICT at schools were evenly by five groups In 2012, all five items is very low group. Except for one of the eight items of use of ICT at school, and all items are the lowest group. In 2012, all eight items are the lowest group. Korea ICT indicators have been very down in 2012 than in 2009.

  • This paper applied to the economics subject using PBL(Problem-Based Learning) for improving students many skills in Mongolian University that 21st century demands. For the first time at Mongolian University, the PBL problem was developed for the use of PBL and applied to the class and confirmed its effectiveness. The study subjects were 60 freshman students in D university who took 'Economics'. We applied 5 problems for 16 weeks. Students wrote and submitted a reflective journal when they finished the every activity. In addition, they completed a class evaluation form after the PBL program ended. The study showed that they experienced various effects such as understanding of learning contents, understanding of cooperative learning, practical experience, creative problem solving ability, presentation skill, communication ability, self- directed learning ability, self - confidence. In the PBL learning activities, the learning environment was not well prepared yet, so some difficulties were encountered. Mongolian students perceived it as a new and effective way to develop their expertise as a future leader in the 21st century. The main goal of Mongolian university is to produce leaders with professional talent with creative problem solving ability and active learning direction.

Development of Multi-Disciplinary Learning Program for 21st Century Learning Skills (21세기 학습능력 신장을 위한 다학문적 교육 프로그램 개발)

  • In this study, we propose a learning method that can be extended to take advantage of the knowledge of the various disciplines in the project related to the subject to perform the process of restoring stork. The development program is grade 3.4 Group 4 class hours, grade 5.6 Group 4 class hours, total 8 class hours, and in each class hour, it was designed to be extended such creativity, problem solving skills, communication skills and ability to learn, based on knowledge and concepts of the elementary curriculum related to storks. Content validity was verified using a method consisting of 12 experts to verify the validity of the program. Feasibility evaluation of Lawshe (1975) content validity ratio for the analysis: we used (Content Validity Ratio CVR) calculation formula. As a result of a feasibility study in total 8 class hours, It was analyzed that match with the development effect except for program of grade 3.4 group 4 class hours. grade 3.4 group 4 class hours program was raised this issue for the academic linkage region, was fixed. Later, It is necessary to measure the degree of learning skills improves effectiveness by applying it to the elementary school students in the proposed research program.
