독립성분분석에의한 뇌파 안구운동 제거 (Eyeball Movements Removal in EEG by Independent Component Analysis)

  • Purpose : Eyeball movement is one of the main artifacts in EEG. A new approach to the removal of these artifacts is presented using independent component analysis(ICA). This technique is a signal-processing algorithm to separate independent sources from unknown mixed signals. This study was performed to show that ICA is a useful method for the separation of EEG components with little data deformity. Methods : 12 sets of 10 sec digital EEG data including eye opening and closure were obtained using international 10~20 system scalp electrodes. ICA with 18 tracings of double banana bipolar montage was performed. Among obtained 18 independent components, two components, which were thought to be eyeball movements were removed. Other 16 components were reconstructed into original bipolar montage. Power spectral analysis of EEGs before and after ICA was done and compared statistically. Total 12 pairs of data were compared by visual inspection and relative power comparison. Results : Waveforms of each pair looked alike by visual inspection. Means of relative power before and after ICA were 29.16% vs. 28.27%, 12.12% vs. 12.41%, 10.55% vs. 10.52%, and 19.33% vs. 18. 33% for alpha, beta, theta, and delta, respectively. These values were statistically same before and after ICA. Conclusions : We found little data deformity after ICA and it was possible to isolate eyeball movements in EEG recordings. Many other components of EEG could be selectively separated using ICA.

Variation of Tocopherol Composition and Morphology in Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] Germplasms

  • In order to get information on tocopherol content and composition in fifty-six soybean germplasms were evaluated by HPLC. From the principle component analysis, the first three components accounted for 71.6% of the total variance of tocopherol content in the germplasms. Principal component 1 showed significant correlations with all the morphological markers except 100-seed weight. Soybean germplasms were divided into three groups by the first two principal components. The highest content of ${\alpha}$-tocopherol was $38.6{\mu}g$ per g in Tanner, while that of ${\gamma}$-tocopherol was $195.6{\mu}g$ in PI 91073. In case of ${\delta}$-tocopherol, IT 105622 showed the highest value as $29.8{\mu}g$. The contents of tocopherol were gradually increased from the late August to late September, which was 10 days before maturity, in Alchankong and PI 96322. The tocopherol content was higher in seeds from the plants sown early than those sown late. Total tocopherol contents of PI 96188, Geomjeongkong 2, and Suwon 183 grown in Gimje were higher than those grown in Iksan, but the difference was not observed in PI 96322. These results suggest that the contents of tocopherol in soybean were affected not only by the genotypes but also by environment.

고분자 착체 조합 화학법을 이용한 Tb이 첨가된 $SrO-Gd_2O_3-Al_2O_3$계 형광물질의 합성 및 탐색 (Synthesis and Screening of the System $SrO-Gd_2O_3-Al_2O_3$Doped with Tb by Polymerized-Complex Combinatorial Chemistry)

  • 조합화학은 한번에 여러 후보 물질을 소량 합성하여 원하는 물성을 갖는 물질을 탐색하는 기술이다. 본 연구에서는 고분자 착체 조합 화학법을 이용하여, 터븀이 도핑된 $SrO-Gd_2O_3-Al_2O_3$계에 대한 형광 물질을 합성하고 특성을 검색하였다. 합성 실험은 세 성분의 조성이 약 0.05몰씩 차이를 갖게하되 모든 금속 이온 당량의 합이 1몰이 되도록 작성한 조성표에 따라 금속이온 용액, 구연산 용액 및 에틸렌 글리콜 용액을 사용하여, 고분자 착체 전구체를 형성하는 Pechini법으로 합성하였다. 합성된 전구체를 1000~1500$^{\circ}C$로 열처리한 후 제조된 분말을 UV PL(Photoluminescence)과 VUV(Vacuum-UV: 147nm) PL로 측정하여 그 특성을 검토하였다. 또한 합성된 분말의 결정성과 입자형상은 XRD와 SEM을 이용하여 확인하고 관찰하였다. UV PL 측정 결과, 240nm 여기하에서는 $Sr_{0.6}Gd_{0.12}Al_{0.17}Tb_{0.1}$$O_{\delta}$, 275 nm 여기하에서는 $Sr_{0.03}Gd_{0.89}Al_{0.03}Tb_{0.06}O_{\delta}$$Sr_{0.6}Gd_{0.12}Al_{0.17}Tb_{0.1}O_{\delta}$ 그리고 307nm 여기하에서는 $Sr_{0.03}Gd_{0.89}Al_{0.03}Tb_{0.06}O_{\delta}$의 조성에서 543nm의 발광 세기가 크게 나타났다. 그리고 VUV PL 측정 결과는 $Gd_{1-x-y}Al_xTb_yO_{\delta}$: 0.595 < x < 0.733, 0.016 < y < 0.017 그리고 $Sr_xAl_{1-x-y}Tb_yO_{\delta}$: 0.049 < x < 0.064, 0.02 < y < 0.039의 조성범위에서 345nm 의 발광세기가 크게 나타났다. 이 조성의 녹색 형광체는 plasma display panel에 적용 가능하다.

초임계유체 추출에 의한 생가 (Zingiber officinale Roscoe) Oleoresin의 품질특성 (Quality Properties of Ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe) Oleoresin by Supercritical Fluid Extraction)

  • 본 연구에서는 압력(100 bar, 250 bar, 500 bar)과 온도($35^{\circ}C$, $50^{\circ}C$, $60^{\circ}C$)조건을 달리 하여 초임계 유체 추출한 생강 oleoresin의 각 추출조건에 대한 수율, 색도, 향기성분 및 유용성분을 살펴보았다. 초임계 유체 추출한 생강 oleoresin의 수율은 추출압력이 증가할수록 그리고 추출온도가 높을수록 추출수율이 높게 나타났고, 가장 높은 추출 수율을 보인 조건은 500 bar $65^{\circ}C$ 조건에서 추출한 추출물로 수율이 8.96%로 나타났다. 생강 oleoresin의 색도를 측정한 결과 추출압력이 높을수록 전반적인 색도(${\Delta}E$)값이 감소하였고, 추출압력 100 bar 조건의 경우에는 추출온도가 높을수록 전반적인 색도(${\Delta}E$)값이 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 초임계 유체 추출한 생강 oleoresin 중의 6-gingerol, 8-gingerol, 10-gingerol, 6-shogaol 및 curcumin을 분석한 결과 동일 압력 조건에서는 추출온도가 높을수록 유용성분이 다소 감소하는 경향을 나타냈고 추출압력이 높을수록 유용성분의 함량이 높은 경향을 나타내었다. 생강 oleoresin 중의 향기성분을 분석한 결과 주요 성분으로 zingiberene, ${\beta}$-sesquiphellandre, ${\beta}$-phellandrene, ${\alpha}{\gamma}$-curcumene, 2,3-butanediol 및 ${\beta}$-bisabolene 등이 검출되었고, 각 추출조건에 따라 향기성분 함량의 차이를 나타내었다.

3차원에서의 순간적인 속도변화에 의한 ECO의 최적궤도변경 (OPTIMAL DEELECTION OF EARTH-CROSSING OBJECT USING A THREE-DIMENSIONAL SINGLE IMPULSE)

  • 순간적인 속도변화에 의한 ECO(Earth-Crossing Object)의 케도변경을 최적화하는 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 이를 통해, ECO의 궤도변경을 위한 속도변위를 계산할 때, 기존연구에서 간과되었던 궤도평면에 수직인 방향의 속도 변화를 살펴보았다. 이러한 3차원의 최적화 문제를 풀기위해서 순간적인 속도변화를 계산하기 위한 순간추력 근사법이 적용되었으며, ECO의 지구 접근 시에는 지구중력 효과를 고려한 부분적 궤도근사법을 사용하였다. 지구와 충돌천체의 상대적인 위치와 속도에 따라 ECO의 궤도변경을 위한 최적해가 달라지며, 그러한 최적해는 순간추력시간에 대한 최적속도변화나 최적비행각으로 표현될 수 있다. 순간추력시간이 작을 때, 궤도평면에 수직인 방향의 속도 변화를 무시할 수 없는 경우도 발견되었다. ECO의 궤도가 지구의 궤도와 비슷할수록 더 많은 최적속도변화가 필요로 하였으며, 순간추력시간이 충돌 순간에 가까워질수록 궤도변경에 필요한 최적속도변화의 크기가 지수함수적으로 증가하였다. 이러한 연구결과는 실제 ECO의 우주임무를 설계하는데 중요한 지침이 될 것이다.

Aureobasidium pullulans IMS-822가 생산하는 ${\beta}-(1{\to}3)(1{\to}6)-Glucan$의 특성 분석 (Analysis of ${\beta}-(1{\to}3)(1{\to}6)-Glucan$ Produced by Aureobasidium pullulans IMS-822)

  • 국내 토양시료로부터 점액성 고분자물질을 생산하는 효모 균주를 분리 및 동정하여 Aureobasidium pullulans IMS-822라 명명하였다. A. pullulans IMS-822가 생산하는 외분비성 폴리머를 정제 및 동결 건조하여 구조분석을 수행하였다. HPLC를 이용한 구성당 성분분석에서 포도당 단일성분으로 구성되어 있음을 확인하였다. FT-IR을 이용한 구조분석에서는 890 $cm^{-1}$ 부근에서의 ${\beta}-configuration$을 확인하였으며, 3300 $cm^{-1}$ 부근으로 shift 된 완만한 -OH stretching은 폴리머를 구성하고 있는 분자 사이에 강한 수소결합이 작용하고 있는 것으로 추측되었다. $^{13}C-NMR$ 분석결과는 A. pullulans IMS-822가 생산하는 외분비형 다당류인 (1,3)-linked ${\beta}-D-glucosyl$ unit의 6개의 탄소, ${\delta}$ 105.05 ppm (C1), 75.82 ppm (C2), 86.62 ppm (C3), 70.61 ppm (C4), 78.13 ppm (C5), 63.22 ppm (C6) 및 ${\beta}-(1,3)D-glucosyl$ 잔기에 분기사슬 되어 있는 ${\delta}$ 72.11 ppm의 C-6의 signal을 확인할 수 있었다. A. pullulans IMS-822가 생산하는 ${\beta}-(1{\to}3)(1{\to}6)-glucan$의 알칼리 수용액(0.5%, w/v)에 24.0 ${\mu}M$의 Congo red 첨가하여 30분간 반응시킨 후 $400{\sim}700$ nm의 범위에서 최대흡수파장의 변화를 조사한 결과 NaOH의 농도가 증가함에 따라 최대흡수파장은 장파장으로 이동하여 498 nm에서 515 nm까지 이동하였다. 최대흡수파장은 0.4 M NaOH 농도에서 점차로 감소하여 506 nm 부근에서 안정화되는 것으로 나타남으로써 순차적 구조를 가지는 것으로 확인되었다.

Immunochemical Localization of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in Chemically Fixed Glandular Thrichomes of Cannabis (Cannabaceae)

  • Monoclonal antibody for delta-9-tetrahydrocannabiol (THC Ab), conjugated with protein A-gold, was employed as a probe to detect THC localization in the gland and subjacent cells of chemically fixed bracts of Cannabis. THC was detected in the outer wall of the disc cells, fibrillar matrix, the surface feature of secretory vesicles, and sheath throughout development of the secretory cavity. The probe was absent from vesicles. Label was also present in anticlinal walls of disc cells and walls of dermal and mesophyll cells. Little or no THC Ab was present in disc cells and none were detected in control tissues. This distribution pattern of THC Ab was similar to that in tissues prepared by high pressure cryofixation-cryosubstitution. Consistent association of THC with wall and wall-derived materials suggests that cannnabinoids are synthesized outside the plasma membrane and bound to a wall component, where-upon they are transported to the cavity with wall materials released from the disc cell wall during development of the secretory cavity.

Stand-Alone Wind Energy Conversion System with an Asynchronous Generator

  • This paper deals with a stand-alone wind energy conversion system (WECS) with an isolated asynchronous generator (IAG) and voltage and frequency (VF) control feeding three-phase four-wire loads. The reference generator currents are estimated using the instantaneous symmetrical component theory to control the voltage and frequency of an IAG system. A three-leg voltage source converter (VSC) with an isolated star/delta transformer is used as an integrated VSC. An integrated VSC with a battery energy storage system (BESS) is used to control the active and reactive powers of the WECS. The WECS is modeled and simulated in MATLAB using the Simulink and the Sim Power System (SPS) toolboxes. The proposed VF controller functions as a voltage and frequency regulator, a load leveler, a load balancer and a harmonic eliminator in the WECS. A comparison is made on the rating of the VSC with and without ac capacitors connected at the terminals of an IAG. Simulation and test results are presented to verify the control algorithm.

UBV PHOTOMETRY AT THE OUTSIDE ECLIPSE PHASE OF AZ CASSIOPEIAE

  • VV Cep-type long period spectroscopic-eclipsing binary AZ Cas has been observed for five years, 1985 Oct~1990 Feb, UBV at the Ilsan Station of Yonsei University Observatory. A total of 431 observations (U=129, B=142 and V=160) are made for 86 nights. Instrumental differential UBV and B-V light curves made with these observations cover phases nearly a half of one period. There is no appreciable light variation in V but in other two passbands a gradual decrease of the brightness is clearly noticed. The loss of light in B resulted in a reddening in $\Delta(B-V)$ by + 0.06 at phases between 0.4~0.5 as compared with that of at phase ~0.1. This intrinsic reddening arouses a question why at the orbital phase of the transit of a hot star in front of a cool M supergiant the heating of the facing hemisphere of M supergiant by the strong radiation from the B stat is absent. With regard to this unusual situation we propose a hypothesis that a large amount of gas stream of low temperature ejected from the surface of M supergiant component towards the B star dominates the brightness of B star and the reflection effect.

  • A syntactic and semantic approach is used to make type classification based on feature points(whorl, delta, core) and the shape of flow line around feature points. The image is divided into 30 by 30 subregions which are represented in the average direction and 4-tuple direction component. Next the relaxation process with singularity detection and convergency checking is performed. A set of semantic languages is used to describe the major flow line around the extracted feature points. LR(1) parser and feature transfer function are used to recognize the coded flow patterns. The 72 fingerprint impressions is used to test the proposed approach and the rate of the classification is about 93 percentages.
