We designed the flyback planar transformer, which had 8 W capacity, with 70 V input voltage and 8.2 V output voltage for the establishment of design method and the confirmation of application possibility. The numerical value of inductance measured under the switching frequency of 120 kHz was 1650 $\mu$H, which was the inductance efficiency of'85∼87% against theoretical value. The A.C. resistance of primary and secondary coil was 4.2 Ω and 0.25 Ω respectively, On the other hand, the quality factor for each wound numbers showed quite a high value of 158 and 75 respectively. And the Coupling Factor was 0.96∼0.97 under 120 kHz switching frequency. The inductance rapidly increased as the thickness of the core plane increased until it became 1.4 mm but under the thickness more than 1.4 mm, there was no substantial change. Therefore, the critical value of the plane thickness of core was 1.4 mm. And the shape of the output wave of the planar transformer at 70V input voltage was a stable square wave.

We fabricated a large-scale photovoltaic device for detecting-3-5$\mu$m IR, by forming of n$^{+}$-p junction in the $Hg_{1-x}Cd_{x}$Te (MCT) layer which was grown by LPE on CdTe substrate. The composition x of the MCT epitaxial layer was 0.295 and the hole concentration was 1.3${\times}10^{13}/cm^{4}$. The n$^{+}$-p junction was formed by B+ implantation at 100 keV with a does 3${\times}10^{11}/cm^{2}. The n$^{+}$ region has a circular shape with 2.68mm diameter. The vacuum-evaporated ZnS with resistivity of 2${\times}10^{4}{\Omega}$cm is used as an insulating layer over the epitaxial layer. ZnS plays the role of the anti-reflection coating transmitting more than 90% of 3~5$\mu$m IR. For ohmic contacts, gole was used for p-MCT and indium was used for n$^{+}$-MCT. The fabrication took 5 photolithographic masks and all the processing temperatures of the MCT wafer were below 90$^{\circ}C$. The R,A of the fabricated devices was 7500${\Omega}cm^{2}$. The carrier lifetime of the devices was estimated 2.5ns. The junction was linearly-graded and the concentration slope was measured to be 1.7${\times}10^{17}/{\mu}m$. the normalized detectivity in 3~5$\mu$m IR was 1${\times}10^{11}cmHz^{12}$/W, which is sufficient for real application.
For the development of superconducting fault current limiters (SFCLs), fault current limiting elements were fabricated out of Bi-2212 bulk tubes and tested. The SFCL elements consisted of tube shaped Bi-2212 bulks and metal shunts for the stabilizers. Firstly, the Bi-2212 bulk tubes were processed based on a design of monofilar coils in order to acquire large resistance and high voltage rating. 300 mm-long Bi-2212 tubes were designed to have the current path of 410 cm in length with 24 turns and 41 mm in diameter. The processed monofilar coil, as designed, had 300 A $I_c$ at 77 K. The fabricated superconducting monofilar coils were affixed to Cu-Ni alloy as that of stabilizers. The Cu-Ni alloys were processed to have the same shape of the superconducting monofilar coils. The Cu-Ni coil had resistivity of 32 ${\mu}{\Omega}$-cm at 77 K and 37 ${\mu}{\Omega}$-cm at 300 K. The metal shunts were attached to the outside of the Bi-2212 monofilar coil by a soldering technique. After the terminals made of copper were attached to both ends of the superconductor-metal shunt composite, the gap between the turns and the surface of the elements was filled with an epoxy and a dense mesh made of FRP in order to enhance the mechanical strength. The completed SFCL elements went through fault tests, and we confirmed that the voltage rating of 143 $V_{rms}$ (E =0.35 $V_{rms}$/cm) could be accomplished.
To clarify the exocytotic features in adrenal medullary aminergic cells, the authors observed rat adrenal medulla prepared by the TAGO method with transmission electron microscope. Rat adrenal medulla contains two types of aminergic cells, adrenergic and noradrenergic, as described. They were present as a group. In a single group both adrenergic and noradrenergic cells were present, but the same kind of cells showed the tendency forming small groups. Adrenergic cells were characterized with the granules having relatively electroluscent cores. These granules were relatively uniform in size, and the cores filled the granules with only thin halos. Noradrenergic cells were characterized with the granules of various size and forms. Most of the cores of these granules were generally more electron-dense than those of the adrenergic cells and only partly filled the granules without forming the halos. But, some granules were very similar in the shape and electron density as those of the adrenergic cells. Even empty-looking granules were present. Exocytotic figures with the classical omega figures were observed in both types of aminergic cells, but they were more frequent in adrenergic cells. These figures were mainly present along the plasma membranes toward the capillary. The excreted materials could be identified in the cleft of the omega figures. Apocrine-like secretory patterns but without cytoplasmic rims were identified in noradrenergic cells. Some vesicles, possibly formed from the cytoplsmic tubular systems were released. Some irregular lamellar structures of varying sizes were also observed. They looked like membranous structures sneaking through the plasma membranes. We could not, however, found any evidences of their involvement in exocytotic processes. These were present toward the capillaries and found only in the adrenergic cells. The authors conclude that the secretory processes in adrenal chromaffin cells may include not only the classical exocytotic processes but also the unusual direct secretions of granules or parts of cellular organelles. The membranous lamellar structures may indicate the remnants of excreted granules or functionally inactive excess membranes of the organelles removed from the cytoplasm.

The electrical conductivity of glass melter at high temperature has been measured. The conductivity is an important physical property for the research and the manufacturing process of glass. Because high temperature is an inconvenient situation to measure the conductivity of glass melter, we have made a platinum crucible and electrode and have measured the conductivity at high temperature. KCl solution, of which concentration is adjusted to the conductivity of glass melter, is used to get parameters of the conductivity cell. A measuring circuit is composed with an AC 1 kHz sine wave generator and an operational amplifier. The cell constants are determined from the measured voltages and the equivalent conductances of KCl solution. Various cells are tested to find a suitable shape for high temperature experiment. The results are compared by cell size, electrode depth, and cell configuration. The conductivity of the borosilicate melter is $0.053{\Omega}^{-1}cm^{-1}$ at $1,450^{\circ}C$.
The planar type inductors have a good potential for the application of miniaturized low power DC-DC converters. For those high quality application, the reduction of coil loss and also magnetic films which have good high frequency properties are required. Fabricated inductor was consisted of FeTaN/Ti magnetic film and electroplated Cu coil thickness of 100$\mu\textrm{m}$ and $SiO_2$ as a insulating layer. The inductor was designed double rectangular spiral shape for magnetic field highly confining within the device. The measured value of inductance and resistance were 980 nH and 1.7 $\Omega$ at 1 MHz as operating frequency of device. The Q factor is 3.55 at 1 MHz.

In this study, pin-fin arrays, which are widely used for cooling turbine blades, were studied. The vortex generator in pin-fin arrays is located in front of the circular tube. The cross-section of the vortex generator is NACA-9410. The purpose of this study is to analyze heat transfer performance and flow characteristics of pin-fin arrays. The position of vortex generator is changed with the vertical flow direction on the bottom wall. Pin-fin arrays were calculated with 6000, 10000 and 15000 Reynolds number. The commercial program ANSYS v18.0 CFX and the turbulence model $k-{\omega}$ SST were used. As a result, the heat transfer performance increased up to 5.8% and pressure loss increased less than 1%.
For this paper, we investigated the area specific resistance (ASR) of commercially available ferritic stainless steels with different chemical compositions for use as solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) interconnect. After 430h of oxidation, the STS446M alloy demonstrated excellent oxidation resistance and low ASR, of approximately 40 $m{\Omega}cm^2$, of the thermally grown oxide scale, compared to those of other stainless steels. The reason for the low ASR is that the contact resistance between the Pt paste and the oxide scale is reduced due to the plate-like shape of the $Cr_2O_3$(s). However, the acceptable ASR level is considered to be below 100 $m{\Omega}cm^2$ after 40,000 h of use. To further improve the electrical conductivity of the thermally grown oxide on stainless steels, the Co layer was deposited on the stainless steel by means of an electroless deposition method; it was then thermally oxidized to obtain the $Co_3O_4$ layer, which is a highly conductive layer. With the increase of the Co coating thickness, the ASR value decreased. For Co deposited STS444 with 2 ${\mu}m$hickness, the measured ASR at $800^{\circ}$ after 300 h oxidation is around 10 $m{\Omega}cm^2$, which is lower than that of the STS446M, which alloy has a lower ASR value than that of the non-coated STS. The reason for this improved high temperature conductivity seems to be that the Mn is efficiently diffused into the coating layer, which diffusion formed the highly conductive (Mn,Co)$_3O_4$ spinel phases and the thickness of the $Cr_2O_3$(S), which is the rate controlling layer of the electrical conductivity in the SOFC environment and is very thin
In this study, beta-eucryptite is fabricated and the thermal parameters of this material have been investigated. The thermoluminescence from 4MeV X-ray irradiated beta-eucryptite have been measured over the temperature range of 300K-600K. Thermoluminescence curve from X-ray irradiated beta-eucryptite shows five peaks located at 342K, 392K, 438K, 474K, and 527K. $\tau$, $\delta$ and $\omega$ of peak at 527K are 35K, 39K and 74K, respectively and this peak is found to be 2nd order kinetics. The activation energy of peak shape method is calculated to be 1.03eV and the frequency factor for 527K curve is calculated to be 3.9x10$\^$8/sec$\^$-1/. Based on the various heating rates methods, the activation energy of the peak is computed to be 1.02${\pm}$0.05eV that is similar to 1.19${\pm}$0.03eV of initial rise method. The linearity of thermoluminescence intensity and radiation flux is valid up to 50Gy and beyond higher dose the supralinearity and saturation come out.

This paper is to compare by numerical analysis the flow characteristics and propulsion performance of stern with the shape change of K-duct, a pre-swirl duct developed by Korea Research Institute of Ships & Ocean Engineering (KRISO). First, the characteristics of the propeller and the resistance and self-propulsion before and after the attachment of the K-duct to the ship were verified and the validity of the calculation method was confirmed by comparing this result with the model test results. After that, resistance and self-propulsion calculations were performed by the same numerical method when the K-duct was changed into five different shapes. The efficiency of the other five cases was compared using the delivery horsepower in the model scale and the flow characteristics of the stern were analyzed as the velocity and pressure distributions in the area between the duct end and the propeller plane. For the computation, STAR-CCM +, a general-purpose flow analysis program, was used and the Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations were applied. Rigid Body Motion (RBM) method was used for the propeller rotating motion and SST $k-{\omega}$ turbulence model was applied for the turbulence model. As a result, the tangential velocity of the propeller inflow changed according to the position angle change of the stator, and the pressure of the propeller hub and the cap changes. This regulated the propeller hub vortex. It was confirmed that the vortex of the portion where the fixed blade and the duct meet was reduced by blunt change.
