Corrosion behaviors of TiN coated dental casting alloys have been researched by using various electrochemical methods. Three casting alloys (Alloy 1: 63Co-27Cr-5.5Mo, Alloy 2: 63Ni-16Cr-5Mo, Alloy 3: 63Co-30Cr-5Mo) were prepared for fabricating partial denture frameworks with various casting methods; centrifugal casting(CF), high frequency induction casting(HFI) and vacuum pressure casting(VP). The specimens were coated with TiN film by RF-magnetron sputtering method. The corrosion behaviors were investigated using potentiostat (EG&G Co, 263A. USA) in 0.9% NaCl solution at $36.5{\pm}1^{\circ}C$. The corrosion morphologies were analyzed using FE-SEM and EDX. Alloy 1 and Alloy 2 showed the ${\alpha}-Co$ and ${\varepsilon}-Co$ phase on the matrix, and it was disappeared in case of TiN coated Alloy 1 and 2. In the Alloy 3, $Ni_2Cr$ second phases were appeared at matrix. Corrosion potentials of TiN coated alloy were higher than that of non-coated alloy, but current density at passive region of TiN coated alloy was lower than that of non-coated alloy. Pitting corrosion resistances were increased in the order of centrifugal casting, high frequency induction casting and vacuum pressure casting method from cyclic potentiodynamic polarization test.
Based on the necessity to evaluate the activation products inventory during decommissioning lot domestic nuclear power plants, a preliminary estimation of the activation products inventory for Kori unit 1, which is getting close to the end of lifetime, was carried out with ANISN and ORIGEN2 code. In order to calculate neutron nux using ANISN code, the reactor was divided into 9 zones from core to bioshield concrete for radial direction. Also :he cross-section of main nuclides were calibrated with neutron flux in the reactor pressure vessel(RPV) region. The results showed that 95 % of tile total radioactivity in RPV from reactor shutdown to 10 years came from the nuclides of $^{55}Fe,\;^{59}Ni,\;^{63}Ni\;and\;^{60}Co$. And the total radioactivity with cooling of more than 50 years after decommissioning was no more than 0.2 % of at the time of shutdown. Considering the weight of RPV is 210 tons, the total radioactivity of RPV reached to $5.25{\times}10^{6}GBq$ at shutdown time. As compared with the total radioactivity of bioshield concrete at reactor shutdown time, the radioactivity after tooling more than 10 years was below 1 %.

Fracture Mechanism of Flip Chip Electromigration Failure - Mostly caused by Cathode Depletion at the UBM/Solder Interface Guideline to Increase Electromigration Resistance Material Selection: Sn/Ag(/Cu) > Pb/63Sn Cu UBM > Ni UBM (but, Solder Material combination) UBM Design: thick UBM is preferable (but, Stress Issue) Pad open/UBM size: as large as possible (but, pad size & pitch limit)
The content and distribution of some heavy metals (Fe, Mn, Cr, Co, Cu, Ni, Zn and Pb) were investigated in the <$63{\mu}m$ bed sediments of the Mangyeong river to recognize the extent of contamination. Results showed that a wide range of concentrations was apparent for every metal. These variations were particularly significant at the confluence of tributaries. High levels of metals occur mainly in the confluence of tributaries. Geoaccumulation indexes have been calculated to assess whether the concentration observed represent background or contaminated levels. It is proved that the Mangyeong River is moderately to strongly polluted for Mn, Cr, Cu, Zn and Pb. The spatial extent of pollution was examined, and it was found that the most polluted area is located in the confluence of Iksan and Jeonju tributaries.
Nano-sized nickel substituted cobalt ferrite powders, $Ni_xCo_{1-x}Fe_2O_4$ ($0.0{\leq}x{\leq}1.0$), were fabricated by the sol-gel method, and their crystallographic and magnetic properties were studied. All the ferrite powders showed a single spinel structure, and behaved ferrimagnetically. When the nickel substitution was increased, the lattice constants and the sizes of particles of the ferrite powders decreased. The M$\ddot{o}$ssbauer absorption spectra of $Ni_xCo_{1-x}Fe_2O_4$ ferrite powders could be fitted with two six-line subspectra, which were assigned to a tetrahedral A-site and octahedral B-sites of a typical spinel crystal structure. The increase in values of the magnetic hyperfine fields indicated that the superexchange interaction was stronger, with the increased nickel concentration in $Ni_xCo_{1-x}Fe_2O_4$. This could be explained using the cation distribution, which can be written as, $(Co_{0.28-0.28x}Fe_{0.72+0.28x})[Ni_xCo_{0.72-0.72x}Fe_{1.28-0.28x}]O_4$. The two values of the saturation magnetization and the coercivity decreased, as the rate of nickel substitution was increased. These decreases could be explained using the cation distribution, the magnetic moment, and the magneto crystalline anisotropy constant of the substituted ions.
Partial or complete prosthesis is needed when teeth are lost due to various kinds of reason. Artificial teeth recover occlusion instead of natural teeth. Artificial teeth are required of esthetics, fragile resistance and abrasive resistance. Artificial tooth is made of acrylic resin or porcelain. Nowadays, acrylic resin artificial teeth are mainly used. Acrylic resin teeth are occluded with natural teeth, gold alloy, Ni-Cr alloy or porcelain etc. Acrylic resin teeth have similar translucency, gloss of natural teeth. And it has good chemical bond with denture base material, but it has low wear resistance. The aim of this study is to compare wear resistance among several denture teeth(Endura, SR-orthosit-PE, Planustar) and between artificial resin denture teeth and opposing 3 restorative materials(gold, Ni-Cr alloy, porcelain). Wear tests were conducted with a rotating wear testing apparatus(pin-on-disk type wear tester) under conditions of rpm 180, 75 minutes and constant loading of 50N. The upper part was the cusp of maxillary first molar and the lower part was a disk type restorative materials. To make similar oral environment, water was supplied continually. The acrylic resin teeth wear was determined by weighing the cusp each 5 minutes during 75 minutes test. Vicker's hardness tester was used to evaluate the surface hardness of test specimens. The SEM was used to evaluate the wear surfaces. The results were as follows: 1. Wear rates of acrylic resin teeth opposing to the restorative materials were high in order of Porcelain, Gold, Ni-Cr alloy (p<.05). 2. Wear resistance rate opposing to the Porcelain disk, was shown in order of Endura, SR-orthosit-PE, Planustar. The wear rate of opposing to porcelain disk was above two times more than that of other groups (p<.05). 3. Wear resistance rates opposing to the Gold, Ni-Cr alloy disk, was shown in order of Endura, SR-orthosit-PE, Planustar (p<.05). 4. A degree of the surface hardness is directly proportional to the degree of wear resistance. There are statistically significant differences between each groups (p<.05).
Modified $PbTiO_3$ piezoelectric ceramics added with 0.2, 0.25, 0.3 mol of $CaCO_3$ and 0.04 mol of $(Co_{\frac{1}{2}}W_{\frac{1}{2}})$ and 0.05 mol of $MnO_2$ and NiO have been fabricated. These ceramics can be poled sufficiently within 10 minutes at $100^{\circ}C$ under about d.c. field of 40 kv/cm. Detailed measurement was performed on dielectric constants, cutie temperatures, elastic and piezoelectric properties and coupling factors for the fabricated ceramics. The most value of the piezoelectric coupling factors was coupling factor of thickness mode kt and its value for 0.25 mol of Ca was about $45\%$. Dielectric constants of $\varepsilon_{33}^T$ and $\varepsilon_{11}^T$ for 0.25 mol of Ca were 242 and 260, and coupling factor ratio (kt/Kp) and Qm were 6 and 357 respectively.

Ni-SiC composite coating layers were formed using two kinds of SiC nano-particles by DC electrodeposition in a nickel sulfamate bath containing SiC particles. The effect of stirring rate and SiC particle type on the microstructure and properties of Ni-SiC composite coating layers were investigated. Results revealed that the trend of deposition rate is closely related to the codeposition of SiC and the deposition rate. or nickel, and the codeposition behavior of SiC can be explained by using hydrodynamic effect due to stirring. The average roughness and friction coefficient are closely related to the codeposition of SiC and SiC particle size. It was found that the Victors microhardness of the composite coating layers increased with increasing codeposition of SiC. The composite coating layers containing smaller SiC particle showed higher hardness. This can be explained by using the strengthening mechanism resulting from dispersion hardening. Anti-wear property of the composite coating layers formed using 130 nm-sized SiC nano-particles has been improved by 2,300% compared with pure electroplated-nickel layer.
