현장실습 프로그램에 참여한 식품영양학 대학생의 수행도 및 프로그램 평가 (Measuring Students' Performances and Evaluating the Internship Program for Students Majoring in Food and Nutrition)

  • The purposes of this study were to evaluate students' performance by student self-evaluation and by educators in the field respectively after an internship program, to analyze the gap between the two groups, to identify students, satisfaction and behavior intention and to suggest the direction of an internship program in the Food and Nutrition Department. The results of the survey of 133 students and 129 educators as follows: a majority of the program periods was two weeks and most students experienced an internship program once. Both students and educators evaluated highly in 'I (Students) worked faithfully as a trainee.', 'I (Students) observed the rules and cooperated with other colleagues.', 'I (Students) behaved with clear and polite words.'. Educators estimated higher than students in all items, especially in 'I (Students) prepared and planned needs for internship in advance.' (p<0.00l), 'I (Students) got on close terms with the staff and enjoyed their confidence.' (p<0.001). For details of the internship program, students were satisfied with 'professors' roles' (3.95), 'educator's abilities' (3.85), 'treatment of students' (3.84) but dissatisfied with 'pay to students' (1.94). Students perceived that an internship program was helpful to understand their major (4.37) and to decide upon their job (4.17). They had an intention to participate in another internship program (4.63) and to recommend to their juniors to participate in a program (4.73). Students had a diversity of opinions for program periods and most wanted to participate two times in summer or winter vacation of junior. Therefore an internship program needs curriculum in the food and nutrition department and the continuous and active cooperation between university and institutions would lead to an effective and efficient internship program.

Feasibility and Effectiveness of a Ring-Type Blood Pressure Measurement Device Compared With 24-Hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring Device

  • Backgrounds and Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the applicability and precision of a ring-type cuffless blood pressure (BP) measurement device, CART-I Plus, compared to conventional 24-hour ambulatory BP monitoring (ABPM). Methods: Forty patients were recruited, and 33 participants were included in the final analysis. Each participant wore both CART-I Plus and ABPM devices on the same arm for approximately 24 hours. BP estimation from CART-I Plus, derived from photoplethysmography (PPG) signals, were compared with the corresponding ABPM measurements. Results: The CART-I Plus recorded systolic blood pressure (SBP)/diastolic blood pressure (DBP) values of 131.4±14.1/81.1±12.0, 132.7±13.9/81.9±11.9, and 128.7±14.6/79.3±12.2 mmHg for 24-hour, daytime, and nighttime periods respectively, compared to ABPM values of 129.7±11.7/84.4±11.2, 131.9±11.6/86.3±11.1, and 124.5±13.6/80.0±12.2 mmHg. Mean differences in SBP/DBP between the two devices were 1.74±6.69/-3.24±6.51 mmHg, 0.75±7.44/-4.41±7.42 mmHg, and 4.15±6.15/-0.67±5.23 mmHg for 24-hour, daytime, and nighttime periods respectively. Strong correlations were also observed between the devices, with r=0.725 and r=0.750 for transitions in SBP and DBP from daytime to nighttime, respectively (both p<0.001). Conclusions: The CART-I Plus device, with its unique ring-type design, shows promising accuracy in BP estimation and offers a potential avenue for continuous BP monitoring in clinical practice.

Interaction of $17{\beta}-Estradiol$ with EGF and IGF-I on Proliferation and $P_i$ Uptake in Primary Cultured Rabbit Renal Proximal Tubular Cells

  • The most significant direct role of estrogen in vivo is its ability to elicit receptor-mediated cellular proliferation in mammalian target tissues. However, the mechanism by which exogenously added estrogen causes the neoplastic transformation of renal cortical cells is yet to be uncovered. The present study was designed to evaluate interaction of $17{\beta}-estradiol\;(E_2)$ with epidermal growth factor (EGF) and insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) on proliferation and $P_i$ uptake in primary cultured rabbit renal proximal tubular cells in phenol red-free, hormonally defined-medium. $[^3H]-thymidine$ incorporation increased markedly by about 133% and 141% more in the presence of $10^{-9}\;and\;10^{-6}\;M\;E_2$, respectively, than that of control. Cell count was 162% and 143% greater in the presence of $10^{-9}\;and\;10^{-6}\;M\;E_2$ , respectively, compared with control. Among all time points examined, there was an increase in $[^3H]-thymidine$ incorporation in the presence of $10^{-9}\;M\;E_2$ at day 9 or 13, respectively. However, $E_2$ ($10^{-9}\;M$) significantly drove up cell count to 160% of that of control at day 13, while it had a slight but statistically insignificant effect at day 9. $E_2-induced$ stimulation of $[^3H]-thymidine$ incorporation was completely reversed by $E_2$ antagonists (progesterone or tamoxifen). $E_2$ ($10^{-9}\;M$) or EGF ($10^{-8}\;M$) significantly stimulated $[^3H]-thymidine$ incorporation by 144% and 154% of control. $E_2$ plus EGF was synergistic on $[^3H]-thymidine$ incorporation (204% of control), while $E_2$ plus IGF-I showed a slight but no significant synergistic effect. Cell number also displayed similar pattern. $E_2$ ($10^{-9}\;M$) significantly stimulated $P_i$ uptake to 134% of control. $E_2$-induced stimulation of $P_i$ uptake was partially reversed by $E_2$ antagonists. EGF or IGF-I ($10^{-8}\;M$) significantly also increased $P_i$ uptake to 132% or 129% of control. $E_2$ plus EGF had synergistic effect on $P_i$ uptake, while $E_2$ plus IGF-I did not. In conclusion, $E_2$ may act not only directly interaction with its receptors but also indirectly as a modulator of EGF in proliferation and $P_i$ uptake of primary cultured rabbit renal proximal tubular cells.

대한민국 흉부외과 의사들의 논문저술경향의 변화 (Recent Trends of the Scientific Publication Patterns of Korean Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons)

  • 배경: 최근 국내외 연구환경의 변화로 논문저술의 양상이 변하고 있으나 한국 흉부외과의사들의 저술활동에 대해서는 분석된 바가 없다. 대상 및 방법: 1995년부터 2008년까지 14년간 대한흉부외과학회 소속 의사들이 국내외 주요 학술잡지에 발표한 윈저논문을 대상으로 하였다. SCI (Science Citation Index)급 해외 흉부외과 학술잡지 3개와 대한흉부외과학회지 및 Pubmed의 인터넷 홈페이지를 통해 자료를 수집하였고 이를 연도별, 분야별로 분석하였다. 결과: 해외잡지에 게재된 논문의 총수는 14,629편이었으며 이중 한국흉부외과의사에 의해 작성된 것은 157편으로 1.07%를 차지하였다. 2002년까지 총 7,674편중 28편(0.36%)이었던 것이 2003년부터 급격히 증가하여 총 6,955편중 129편(1.83%)이 게재되었다. 반면 대한흉부외과학회지에 게재된 논문의 수는 1999년까지 연평균 126.8편이던 것이 2000년 이후로는 연평균 80.0편으로 감소하였다. 또한 원저의 비율은 1999년까지는 58.8%이었던 것이 2000년 이후에는 48.3로 감소하였다. 결론: 2000년대에 들어서면서 국내잡지보다는 해외잡지에 논문을 투고하는 경향이 증가하였으나 상대적으로 국내잡지의 게재논문 수 및 원저의 비율이 줄어들고 있어 대책마련이 시급하다.

고려인삼(高麗人蔘)의 노화억제작용(老化抑制作用)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (Studies on the Anti - aging Action of Korean Ginseng)

  • 홍삼(紅蔘)사포닌 가수분해물(加水分解物)의 항산화작용(抗酸化作用)에 의한 노화억제작용(老化抑制作用)을 구명(究明)하기 위하여 홍삼(紅蔘)사포닌을 가수분해(加水分解)하여 얻은 prosapogenin, panaxadiol 및 panaxatriol을 시료(試料)로 하여 in vitro 및 in vivo 실험(實驗)을 통하여 이들 가수분해물(加水分解物)들의 생체(生體) 과산화지질생성(過酸化脂質生成)에 미치는 억제효과(抑制效果)를 비교(比較)하였다. DPPH에 대한 전자공여능(電子供與能)(EDA)은 $13.88{\sim}19.76%$를 나타내고 있었으며 in vitro에서 과산화지질생성(過酸化脂質生成) 억제효과(抑制效果)는 현저하였으며 그 순서는 prosapogenin>panaxatriol>panacadiol이었다. POV에 의한 유효기간(誘導期間)은 이들 가수분해물(加水分解物) 홍삼(紅蔘)사포닌보다 훨씬 높았으며 prosaposenin>panaxatriol>panaxadiol의 순이었다. in vivo에서 복강(復腔)(i. p.) 및 경구(經口)(p.o.) 투여(投與)에 의한 생체내(生體內) 과산화지질생성(過酸化脂質生成) 억제효과(抑制效果)는 대조군(對照群)에 비(比)해 훨씬 효과적(效果的)이었으며, 홍삼(紅蔘)사포닌과 비교(比較)했을 때 간장(肝臟)과 신장(腎臟)에는 거의 비슷한 효과(效果)를 나타냈지만 혈액(血液)에서는 이들 가수분해물(加水分解物)이 홍삼(紅蔘)사포닌보다 훨씬 효과적(效果的)이었다. 효소활성(酵素活性)으로서 superoxide dismutase 활성(活性)을 in vitro에서 비교해 보면 이들 가수분해물(加水分解物)이 $24.2{\sim}36.4%$의 과산화지질생성(過酸化脂質生成) 억제효과(抑制效果)를 나타내고 있어, 홍삼(紅蔘)사포닌의 12.1%보다 $2{\sim}3$ 배(倍)의 효과(效果)를 나타내고 있었고, in vivo에서는 복강(復腔)(i. p.) 투여(投與)에서는 $12.9{\sim}22.2%$. 경구(經口)(p.o.) 투여(投與)에서는 $11.2{\sim}21.6%$의 높은 활성(活性)을 나타내고 있었다. 단 peroxidase 활성(活性)은 복강(復腔)(i. p.) 투여(投與)에서는 $129.0{\sim}188.6%$, 경구(經口)(p. o.) 투여(投與)에서는 $111.4{\sim}139.6%$의 활성(活性)을 나타내고 있었다.

교육용 기록정보콘텐츠 개발 절차에 관한 연구 (A Study on developing procedures of an archival contents for education)

  • 교육과정에 기반한 교육용 기록정보콘텐츠는 역사적 사고력 함양에 가장 효과적인 교수 학습 도구라 할 수 있다. 본 논문은 교육용 기록정보콘텐츠의 개발 방법론을 제안함으로써 국립 기관인 국가기록원이 본격적인 교육용 기록정보콘텐츠 서비스를 제공함에 있어 이론적 지침이 되고자 하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 교육용 기록정보콘텐츠의 개발 절차는 e-러닝 콘텐츠의 개발 단계인 '기획-분석-설계-개발-평가'의 단계를 거친다. 구체적으로는 교육용 기록정보콘텐츠로서의 특성을 띤 교육과정 분석과 컬렉션 분석, 교수 학습 목표를 효과적으로 달성할 수 있는 구조화된 형태로 설계하기 위한 세부 단계를 거친다. 교육과정 분석에선 일차 사료를 활용한 학습이 가능한 주제 항목을 설정하고 이를 검색을 위한 키워드로 도출하는 절차와 일차 사료별 교수 학습 활동에 적용할 수 있는 교수 학습 방법을 분석하였다. 컬렉션 분석에선 키워드별로 기록 검색을 실시한 뒤 일차 사료의 선별 기준에 따라 최종적인 기록을 선정하는 과정을 제안하였다. 분석의 결과를 토대로 설계 단계에서는 콘텐츠의 제목 및 내용 구조를 결정하고, 학습 흐름도를 기반으로 스토리보드를 작성하여야 한다. 개발 시엔 일차 사료의 질감을 원본에 최대한 가깝게 제작하는 것이 핵심이며, 평가 단계에선 콘텐츠의 교수 학습 내용이 학습 목표를 효과적으로 성취할 수 있도록 개발되었는지를 평가하고 실제 콘텐츠 서비스 운영 후 이용자 만족도 조사에 의한 평가 결과를 새로운 콘텐츠 개발이나 콘텐츠 업데이트에 반영하도록 하였다.

마우스 대식세포 RAW 264.7 세포주에서 hesperetin에 의한 p38 MAPK와 ERK1/2를 통한 염증반응 조절 (Hesperetin Ameliorates Inflammatory Responses in Lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW 264.7 Cells via p38 MAPK and ERK1/2)

  • 이전 연구에서 전통주 주박 ethyl acetate 분획물로부터 11개의 순수물질을 분리 동정하였다. 11개의 순수물질은 caffeic acid, coumaric acid, D-mannitol, ferulic acid, hesperetin, hesperidin, naringenin, naringin, sinapic acid, syringic acid, 그리고 vanilic acid로 동정되었다. 이번 연구에서는 그들의 항염증 활성을 연구하기 위하여 LPS로 활성화된 RAW 264.7 세포에서 nitric oxide (NO) 생산을 측정하였다. 11개의 순수물질 중 hesperetin과 naringenin이 가장 높은 NO 생성 억제를 보여주었다. 또한, hesperetin은 세포 생존율에 영향 없이 농도의존적으로 NO 생산을 저해하였다. 그리고, hesperetin은 농도의존적으로 염증유전자인 iNOS의 발현을 농도의존적으로 억제한 반면, COX-2 단백질의 발현에는 영향을 주지 않았다. 게다가, hesperetin은 p38 MAPK와 ERK1/2의 인산화를 억제한 반면 JNK의 인산화에는 영향을 주지 못했다. 이러한 결과는 hesperetin은 항염증 활성을 가지며, 이러한 항염증 활성은 p38 MAPK와 ERK1/2 경로를 억제함으로써 일어난다는 것을 나타낸다.

Development and Characterization of PCE-to-Ethene Dechlorinating Microcosms with Contaminated River Sediment

  • An industrial complex in Wonju, contaminated with trichloroethene (TCE), was one of the most problematic sites in Korea. Despite repeated remedial trials for decades, chlorinated ethenes remained as sources of down-gradient groundwater contamination. Recent efforts were being made to remove the contaminants of the area, but knowledge of the indigenous microbial communities and their dechlorination abilities were unknown. Thus, the objectives of the present study were (i) to evaluate the dechlorination abilities of indigenous microbes at the contaminated site, (ii) to characterize which microbes and reductive dehalogenase genes were responsible for the dechlorination reactions, and (iii) to develop a PCE-to-ethene dechlorinating microbial consortium. An enrichment culture that dechlorinates PCE to ethene was obtained from Wonju stream, nearby a trichloroethene (TCE)-contaminated industrial complex. The community profiling revealed that known organohalide-respiring microbes, such as Geobacter, Desulfuromonas, and Dehalococcoides grew during the incubation with chlorinated ethenes. Although Chloroflexi populations (i.e., Longilinea and Bellilinea) were the most enriched in the sediment microcosms, those were not found in the transfer cultures. Based upon the results from pyrosequencing of 16S rRNA gene amplicons and qPCR using TaqMan chemistry, close relatives of Dehalococcoides mccartyi strains FL2 and GT seemed to be dominant and responsible for the complete detoxification of chlorinated ethenes in the transfer cultures. This study also demonstrated that the contaminated site harbors indigenous microbes that can convert PCE to ethene, and the developed consortium can be an important resource for future bioremediation efforts.

메탄-수소-공기 예혼합기의 연소특성( I ) (Combustion Characteristics of Methane-Hydrogen-Air Premixture( I ))

  • This study investigates the combustion characteristics of methane-hydrogen-air premixture in a constant volume combustion chamber. Primary factors of the combustion characteristics of methane- hydrogen-air premixture are the equivalence ratio and hydrogen supplement rate. In the case of $\phi$= 1.1, maximum combustion pressure and heat release rate have peaks, and they increase as the initial pressure and hydrogen supplement rate increase. The total burning time is also the shortest at the $\phi$= 1.1, it shorten by lowering the initial pressure and by increasing the hydrogen supplement rate. The maximum flame temperature is shown at the $\phi$= 1.0, and increasing the initial pressure and hydrogen supplement rate, it increases. The concentration of NO reveals the highest value at the $\phi$= 0.9, and it increases by increasing the initial pressure and hydrogen supplement rate. It is also found that the limit of lean inflammability of methane-hydrogen-air premixture is greatly widened by increasing the hydrogen supplement rate.

유행스타일을 중심으로 한 사무직 남성의 의복태도와 성역할 태도와의 상관연구 (A Study on the Relation between Clothing Behaviors and Sex-Role Attitude in the Group of White Collar Adult Male -According to the Fashion Style)

  • The Purpose of this study was to investigate the preference of fashion style, the clothing attitude and the preferred fashion style based on sex-role attitude. Sample.; in this study were 305 white collar adult male in Seoul, Korea. The stimuli consisted of 16 color photographs made by identical manipulations of 4 independent variables (jacket, pants, vest, neck-tie) consisting of two levels each (classic and fashion style). For analyzing data, frequency analysis, percent, mean, standard deviation, ANOVA, $X^2$ test, Duncan test, and Cronbach's u were used The results are as follows. 1. According to the preference analysis of the fashion style, white collar adult male prefer to wear clothing style than fashion in all clothing style, except for rolled-up pants. 2. According to the fashion interest (I) based on the preference analysis of the fashion style, the fashion oriented group had high fashion interest (I) in jacket, pants, and neck-tie. 3. According to the clothing attitude based on the preference analysis of the fashion style; for jacket, the fashion oriented group had high fashion interest, but had no relation with status symbols consciousness, clothing conformity, individuality; for vest, the fashion oriented group had high fashion interest (II) and individuality, but had no relation with status symbols 4. According to the clothing attitude based on the sex-role attitude, the group of masculine and feminine had high score in fashion interest (II), status symbols consciousness, and individuality
