The Effect of Mn on the Elevated Temperature Sliding Wear Behavior of Fe-20Cr-1C-1Si Hardfacing Alloy (Fe-20Cr-1C-1Si 경면처리 합금의 고온 Sliding 마모거동에 미치는 Mn의 영향)

  • Fe계 합금의 적층결함에너지를 감소시키는 것으로 알려진 Mn이 Fe-20Cr-1C-Si 경면처리 합금의 변형유기 상변태거동과 상온 및 고온 마모저항성에 미치는 영향에 대하여 조사하였다. 15ksi의 접촉응력에 대하여 0~25wt.% Mn을 첨가한 시편은 모두 상온에서 마모손실량이 적은 우수한 마모저항성을 보였는데 Mn 첨가량이 5wt.% 이하인 시편의 경우 마모표면에서 ${\gamma}$$\longrightarrow$$\alpha$\`변형유기 상변태가 발생한 반면 15wt.% 이상 Mn을 첨가한 시편에서는 ${\gamma}$$\longrightarrow$$\varepsilon$변형유기 상변태가 발생하는 것으로 나타났다. 25$0^{\circ}C$까지 고온 마모시험결과 ${\gamma}$$\longrightarrow$$\alpha$\`변형유기 상변태가 발생한 5wt.% 이하 Mn 첨가시편은 Mn 첨가량이 증가할수록 마모손실량이 증가하는 것으로 보아 Mn 첨가는 ${\gamma}$$\longrightarrow$$\alpha$\`변형유기 상변태에 있어서 고온 마모저항성을 저하시키는 것으로 생각되며 이는 Mn이 ${\gamma}$$\longrightarrow$$\alpha$\`변형유기 상변태의 M(sub)d 온도를 감소시키기 때문으로 생각된다. 반면에 ${\gamma}$$\longrightarrow$$\varepsilon$변형유기 상변태가 일어난 15wt.% 이상 Mn 첨가 시편의 경우 Mn 첨가량 증가에 따른 고온 마모손실량의 차이가 없는 것으로 보아 ${\gamma}$$\longrightarrow$$\varepsilon$변형유기 상변태는 ${\gamma}$$\longrightarrow$$\alpha$\`변형유기 상변태에 비해 온도의 존성이 적은 것으로 생각된다.

  • ${\gamma}-Fe_2O_3$ thin films on $Al_2O_3$ substrate were prepared by the oxidation of $Fe_3O_4$ thin films processed by PECVD(Plasma-Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition) technique. The phase transformation of ${\gamma}-Fe_2O_3$ thin films was mainly controlled by the substrate temperature and oxidation process of $Fe_3O_4$ phase. $Fe_3O_4$ phase was obtained at the deposition temperature of $200{\sim}300^{\circ}C$. $Fe_3O_4$ phase could be transformed into ${\gamma}-Fe_2O_3$ phase under controlled oxidation at $280{\sim}300^{\circ}C$. $Fe_3O_4$ and ${\gamma}-Fe_2O_3$ obtained by oxidation of $Fe_3O_4$ phase had the same spinel structure and were coexisted. The oxidized ${\gamma}-Fe_2O_3$ thin film on $Al_2O_3$ substrate showed a porous island structure.

  • Microstructural evolution and creep failure behavior of GTD 111 have been studied. Solidification and precipitation behaviors of the alloy during casting have been analyzed by microstructural observations. It has been found that MC carbides solidify just before the $\gamma$/$\gamma$' eutectic solidification. The ηphase was found to be formed by transformation of Ti-rich $\gamma$'phase. PFZ has formed in the vicinity of the transformed $\eta$ phase. A few MC particles, which have been identified as TaC, precipitated within the PFZ. Creep failure along grainboundary was dominant at and above $871^{\circ}C$. Creep failure above$ 871^{\circ}C$ was caused by the propagation of surface cracks and internal cracks. Creep crack has initiated at the microporosities embedded on the grainboundary. The $\eta$phase and PFZ have been found to be little or no effect on creep crack initiation.

  • Structural studies have been performed on precipitation hardening found in $L1_2$ ordered ${\gamma}^{\prime}-Ni_3(Al,Ti)$ alloys using transmission electron microscopy. A uniform solid solution of ${\gamma}^{\prime}-L1_2$ ordered phase supersaturated with Ni can be obtained by solution annealing in a suitable temperature range. The ${\gamma}^{\prime}$ phase hardens appreciably by the fine precipitation of disordered ${\gamma}$. The shape of ${\gamma}$ precipitates formed during aging is initially spherical or round-cubic and grow into platelets as aging proceeds. High resolution electron microscopy revealed that the ${\gamma}$ precipitates are perfectly coherent with the matrix ${\gamma}^{\prime}$ as long as the ${\gamma}$-precipitates are plates. The loss of coherency initiates by the introduction of dislocations at the ${\gamma}/{\gamma}^{\prime}$ interface followed by the step formation at the dislocations. The ${\gamma}$ precipitates become globular after the loss of coherency. The strength of ${\gamma}^{\prime}-Ni_3(Al,Ti)$ increases over the temperature range of experiment by the precipitation of fine ${\gamma}$ particles. The peak temperature where a maximum strength was obtained shifted to higher temperature.

Effects os Cold Drawing Ratio on the Hardness of Inconel 718 Wire (Inconel 718 선재의 경도에 미치는 냉간신선가공의영향)

  • Effect of cold drawing ratio and aging time on the hardness of lnconel 718 wire aged at 11l6K were investi¬gated by hardness measurement and scanning & transmission electron microscopy. Hardness which was 245Hv in as¬solution treated condition increased very rapidly to 450Hv as cold drawing ratio increased to 50%. The hardness in the early stage of aging was increased by the precipitation of $\gamma^{'}$ and $\gamma^{'}$ phases and after the peak hardness, the hardness was decreased by the transformation of $\gamma^{'}$ phase to $\delta$ phase. The time to reach peak hardness during aging appeared to be reduced with the increase of cold drawing ratio, and those times were 30, 10, and 5 minutes for 0, 30 and 50% cold drawn materials, respectively. For the 50% cold drawn material. $\gamma^{'}$ and $\gamma^{'}$ were precipitated by aging for 5 minutes at 1116K. The hardness in the same material was largely decreased under the initial hardness by the recrystallization.

플라즈마 침질탄화처리된 강의 시간변화에 따른 화합물층의 특성에 관한 연구

  • 침질탄화처리는 표면경화처리의 화학열처리 종류로서 지난 수 십년동안 많이 사용된 방법이며 값싼 철강재료 즉 보통탄소강, 저합금강 등에 내마모성, 내부식성 및 내피로성 향상에 사용되어 왔다. 그리고 자동차 부품, 기계류 부품, 공업용 공구 등에 적용할 수 있으며 염욕 및 가스를 매체로 사용한다. 침질 탄화처리는 질소와 탄소가 동시에 철재료로 확산 침투하여 최표면에 탄질화물의 화합물층을 형성하고 화합물층 아래에 확산층을 형성하는데 일반적으로 화합물층이 단상의 $\varepsilon$화합물일 때 내마모성과 내부식성을 확산층이 내피로성질을 향상시킨다. 이러한 염욕과 가스 침질탄화 처리에도 불구하고 플라즈마 화학열처리는 가스방법에 비해 현저하게 가스 소모량이 적고 에너지 효율이 높으며 현제 문제시되는 환경오염이 전혀 없기 때문에 크게 각광받고 있다. 현재 플라즈마 침진탄화처리에 많은 연구를 하였음에도 불구하고 단상의 $\varepsilon$화합물층을 형성시키는 어려운 문제점으로 남아 있으며 대부분의 화합물층은 최표면의 $\varepsilon$상과 ${\gamma}$'상으로 구성되어 있고 이러한 혼합상의 화합물층은 $\varepsilon$상과 ${\gamma}$'상의 방위가 서로 불일치하기 때문에 마모시에 미소크랙을 유발시켜 내마모성을 저하시키는 요인으로 작용한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 CH4 가스를 사용하여 내마모성과 내부식성을 향상시키는 단상의 $\varepsilon$화합물층 생성가능성을 고찰하고자 하였다. 침진탄화 처리시간을 변화시켰을 때 화합물층의 생성은 ${\gamma}$'상으로부터 시작되고 $\varepsilon$상은 즉시 ${\gamma}$'상을 소모하면서 생성되어 일정시간이 지난 후 $\varepsilon$상은 안정화되며 질소가스농도가 증가할수록 화합물 층내의 $\varepsilon$상분율은 역시 증가하였다. 한편 CH4 가스농도는 처리되는 강종에 따라 차이를 보이며 적정 CH4 가스농도를 초과시에는 $\varepsilon$상 생성은 억제되고 시멘타이트상이 생성되었다.

Activity and Selectivity in Low Temperature for Dibenzothiophene Hydrodesulfurization based Zeolite Support (제올라이트 담체상의 디벤조티오펜 수첨탈황반응에서 저온활성 및 선택성)

  • Two types of CoMo/zeolite as well as $NiMo/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ were prepared and their activities and selectivities of low-temperature dibenzothiophene(DBT) hydrodesulfurization(HDS) were studied in high pressure fixed bed reactor. The HDS activities of CoMo/zeolites were higher than that of $NiMo/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ at temperatures below $225^{\circ}C$ while they were lower than that of $NiMo/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ at temperatures higher than $275^{\circ}C$. The main products from $NiMo/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ were biphenyl and cyclohexylbenzene. The product distribution of CoMo/zeolite catalysts was different from that of $NiMo/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$. It is speculated that DBT is converted to alkylcyclohexane over zeolite based catalysts through both alkylation and hydrogenation reactions. The crystal structure of molybdenum was $MoO_3$ in fresh zeolite support while mixtures of $MoO_3$ and $MoS_2$ were observed in the aged catalyst.

The Effect of Solidification Rate on Solidification Behavior in IN792+Hf Superalloy (IN792+Hf 초내열합금의 응고거동에 미치는 응고속도의 영향)

  • The effect of solidification rate on the microstructure of directionally solidified IN792+ Hf superalloy has been studied. Solidification sequence and precipitation behavior of the alloy have been analysed by microstructural observation. The script carbide transformed to faceted carbide with decreasing solidification rates. The incorporation of ${\gamma}$ phase into the faceted carbide was due to dendritic growth of carbides. Some elongated carbide bars formed along the grain boundaries at a solidification rate of 0.5$\mu\textrm{m}$/s. Two zones, ${\gamma}$' forming elements enriched zone and depleted zone, were found in the residual liquid area. Eutectic ${\gamma}$/${\gamma}$' nucleated in the f forming elements enriched zone. Formation of eutectic ${\gamma}$/${\gamma}$' increased the ratio of (Ti+Hf+Ta+W)/Al and induced η phase precipitation. The ratio of (Ti+Hf+Ta+W)/Al decreased at lower solidification rates due to sufficient back diffusion in the residual liquid area. Hence, the Precipitation of the η Phase efficiently suppressed at the lower solidification rate.

  • In order to improve the stability of ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ on hydrolysis of $SF_6$, the catalytic promoters were investigated in this study. The crystal phase of ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ is transformed to their ${\alpha}$-phase during hydrolysis of $SF_6$. Various metal oxides were applied as the promoter material that is Ga, Mg, and Zn and the promoter of 1, 5, and 10 wt% was impregnated over ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ by the impregnation method. Specially, it were confirmed in the catalytic activity tests and XRD analysis that ZnO/${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ catalyst had the high activity for decomposition of $SF_6$ by catalytic hydrolysis and the crystal phase of ZnO promoted ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ was not transformed. From these results, it could be known that the stability of ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ is enhanced with the catalytic promotion of ZnO impregnated over the surface of catalyst.
