We evaluate the convolution sum $W_{a,b}(n):=\sum_{al+bm=n}{\sigma}(l){\sigma}(m)$ for (a, b) = (1, 28),(4, 7),(2, 7) for all positive integers n. We use a modular form approach. We also re-evaluate the known sums $W_{1,14}(n)$ and $W_{1,7}(n)$ with our method. We then use these evaluations to determine the number of representations of n by the octonary quadratic form $x^2_1+x^2_2+x^2_3+x^2_4+7(x^2_5+x^2_6+x^2_7+x^2_8)$. Finally we express the modular forms ${\Delta}_{4,7}(z)$, ${\Delta}_{4,14,1}(z)$ and ${\Delta}_{4,14,2}(z)$ (given in [10, 14]) as linear combinations of eta quotients.

Through two different techniques TGA and DSC the thermal decomposition processes of salicyaldehyde G-P complexes having the general formula: $$[MCl_2(L)_2]^{2+}$2Cl^-$; where L = salicyaldehyde carbohydrazone pyridinum cation, and M= Fe(III), Co(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II), have been studied. From the obtained thermogravimetric curves the following parameters n, $E_{\alpha}$, A, ${\Delta}S^{\neq}$, ${\Delta}H^{\neq}$ and ${\Delta}G^{\neq}$ were evaluated. The effect of the nature of the metal ions present in the complexes studied upon the calculated thermodynamic parameters was reported. A suitable mechanism for the thermal decomposition process was suggested.

한국인의 상용 가공식품 중 tram 지방산 함량이 많고 섭취빈도가 상대적으로 높은 41종을 선정하여, trans 지방산 이성체의 종류 및 함량을 GC/MS를 사용하여 분석하였다. HP-23 cis/trans FAME capillary column을 사용하였으며, 검출된 peak의 동정은 GC/MS spectrum을 검색하여 동일분자량 여부로 확인하였다. 마가린류는 trans 지방산 함량이 지방 100g당 4.75~25.21g으로 다양한 수준을 보였다. 마가린의 주요 trans 지방산 이성 체는 C18:1 $\Delta$9t로 모든 마가린에서 검출되었으며 1.10~14.53%의 범위였다. C18:2t의 총 함량은 2.02~7.91%의 범위로 다양하였으며, C18:3t는 0.33~l.39%의 수준이었다. 유지류의 trans 지방산 함량은 지방 100g당 5.40~16.558의 범위였으며, 대두유에서는 Cl8:1$\Delta$9t가 0.95%로 가장 높았으나, 옥수수유에서는 확인되지 않았으며, 쇼트닝은 3.1~5.1%로 1.6~4.3%인 라드보다 높은 수준이었다. 우유 및 유제품에서는 C16:1 $\Delta$9t, C18:1 $\Delta$9t, C18:2t 및 C18:3t가 골고루 분포되어 있었다. 양념류인 마요네즈에서는 C16:1$\Delta$9t가 확인되지 않았으나 4.93%의 trans 지방산이 검출되었다. 과자류 중 trans 지방산 함량이 현저하게 높은 팝콘(48%)에서 C16:l$\Delta$9t는 검출되지 않았으나 C18:1$\Delta$9t는 36%의 함량을 나타내었다. 빵류에서는 C18:1 $\Delta$9t가 trans 지방산 이성 체중 가장 높은 함량을 보였으며, 냉동피자의 C18:1 $\Delta$9t 함량은 30%를 초과하는 높은 함량을 보였다. 슈크림 빵은 높은 C18:2t 함량을 보였으며(8.26%), 불고기버거와 피쉬버거의 C18:2t trans 지방산 함량은 3.26%와 3.34%로 비슷한 수준이었다. 육가공품 및 튀김류 중 냉동 닭튀김과 냉동 감자튀김의 trans 지방산 함량이 15%~l9%의 수준으로 높았으며, C18:1$\Delta$9t과 C18:2t가 그 주된 성분이었다. 돼지고기구이 (목살)에서는 C18:1$\Delta$9t는 확인되지 않았으며, 냉동감자튀김에서는 C16:1 $\Delta$9t이 검출되지 않았다. 1회 분량 당 trans지방산 함량이 높은 식품은 팝콘, 냉동피자, 감자튀김과 닭튀김, 빵류 등의 순으로 나타났다.

25${\%}$ methanol-수용액 속에서 살충성 2-chloro-l-(2,4,5-trichlorophenyl)-vinyldimethylphosphate(Gardona)의 가수분해 반응을 관찰하였다. 다양한 pH에서의 연구결과는 용매효과(m < 0.4, n < 0.7, |m| ${\ll}$ |l|(화합 S$_N$2 형)), 열역학적 파라미터 (${\{Delta}S^{\neq}$ = -27∼-32 e.u. ${\{Delta}H^{\neq}$ = 13∼18 Kcal/mole), 반응속도(k = k$_A$＋k$_B$ [OH$^-$]), 일반염기 촉매 효과 및 가수분해 생성물 분석에 의하여 Gardona의 가수분해 반응이 전이상태와 carbanion 중간체를 포함하는 2분자적(Ad$_{N-E}$) 메카니즘으로 일어남을 암시하고 있다.

We report an example of Pi2 pulsation exhibiting different frequency between dawn and dusk. This Pi2 pulsation occurred around 1932 UT on February 14, 2008, and was observed at low-latitude Bohyun (BOH, L = 1.35, MLT = 3.8) and Hermanus (HER, L = 1.83, MLT = 20.1) stations. The pulsation starts simultaneously at both stations but the frequency is higher at BOH than at HER. At the time of the Pi2, THEMIS-A (THA) and THEMIS-D (THD) were on dawn (L = 2.9, MLT = 5.3) and dusk (L = 2.8, MLT = 18), respectively, in the inner magnetosphere. We find a nearly identical waveform and period between THA ${\delta}Bz$ and BOH ${\delta}H$ and between THD ${\delta}Bz$ and HER ${\delta}H$ with a near $0^{\circ}$ phase delay. This observation implies that Pi2-associated fastmode wave in the inner magnetosphere is not excited globally as a single frequency at all longitudes. We suggest that the different frequency between dawn and dusk is due to dawn-dusk asymmetry of the plasmasphere.

본 연구에서는 고장력 7075-T73 알루미늄합금에 대하여 변동하중의 기보파형 인 단일과대하중과 고-저(high-low) 블럭하중하의 지연거동에 미치는 과대하중비 %O.L., 기준응력확대계수범위 .DELTA. $K_{b}$ 및 무차원 균열깊이 a/W의 영향을 규명하였 으며, 또한 Wheeler모델의 수정에 의한 예측피로수명을 실험치와 함께 검토하였다.다.

한국의 민간요법에서 감자와 당근의 주스 혼합액이 위궤양의 치료에 사용되어져 왔다는 사실을 근거로 전보에서 당근이 감자의 갈변에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 알아보았다. 본 논문에서는 감자의 갈변을 저해하는 감자속의 어떤 물질의 효과를 배제시키기 위하여 감자에서 polyphenolics만을 추출하여 여기에 효소를 가한 뒤 당근을 첨가하여 갈변화를 측정하였고 감자의 PPO활성에 베타-카로틴이 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 살펴 보았다. 그 결과 시료로 사용한 총 polyphenolics의 함량은 1. 854mg/g D.W.였고 PPO활성도는 100unit이였다. 감자에서 추출한 polyphenolics의 delta 'L'값은 급격히 감소하였으나 당근주스의 혼합액은 조금씩 감소하였다. Polyphenolics와 합성 베타-카로틴을 섞은 용액은 반응 50분 후에 약간의 감소를 보였다. 동시에 감자에서 추출한 polyphenolics를 당관에서 추출한 카로틴 혹은 베타-카로틴을 가한 후 갈변차를 알아본 결과 당근에서 추출한 카로틴 용액을 섞은 것은 delta 'L'값이 증가하였고 1 시간 후 합성 베타-카로틴과 비슷하게 감소하였다. 한편 감자에서 추출한 PPO의 갈변화에 기질과 효소의 농도가 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 알아본 결과 기질농도 10%일때 최적효소의 농도는 10%였으며(대조군의 농도비는 완충액 2.6 : 기질 0.3 : 효소액 0.1이었음). 효소농도 3.3%일때 최적 기질의 농도는 13.3%이었고 베타-카로틴의 농도는 PPO활성도에 거의 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

We consider an ill-posed problem for the heat equation $u_{xx}=u_t$ in the quarter plane {x > 0, t > 0}. We propose a new method to compute the heat flux $h(t)=u_x(1,t)$ from the boundary temperature g(t) = u(1, t). The operator $g{\mapsto}h=Hg$ is unbounded in $L^2({\mathbb{R}})$, so we approximate h(t) by $h_{\delta}(t)=u_x(1+{\delta},\;t)$, ${\delta}{\rightarrow}0$. When noise is present, the data is $g_{\epsilon}$ leading to a corresponding heat $h_{{\delta},{\epsilon}}$. We obtain an estimate of the error ${\parallel}h-h_{{\delta},{\epsilon}}{\parallel}$, as well as the error when $h_{{\delta},{\epsilon}}$ is approximated by the trapezoidal rule. With an a priori choice rule ${\delta}={\delta}({\epsilon})$ and ${\tau}={\tau}({\epsilon})$, the step size of the trapezoidal rule, the main theorem gives the error of the heat flux as a function of noise level ${\epsilon}$. Numerical examples show that the proposed method is effective and stable.

We investigate the eigenvalues of the semi-circulant preconditioned matrix for the finite difference scheme corresponding to the second-order elliptic operator with the variable coefficients given by $L_vu\;:=-{\Delta}u+a(x,\;y)u_x+b(x,\;y)u_y+d(x,\;y)u$, where a and b are continuously differentiable functions and d is a positive bounded function. The semi-circulant preconditioning operator $L_cu$ is constructed by using the leading term of $L_vu$ plus the constant reaction term such that $L_cu\;:=-{\Delta}u+d_cu$. Using the field of values arguments, we show that the eigenvalues of the preconditioned matrix are clustered at some number. Some numerical evidences are also provided.

EFM(electrostatic force microscopy)을 이용하여 탄소나노튜브를 측정하였다. EFM 위상 이미지론 얻었을 때, 위상차(${\Delta}{\phi}^{-l/2}$)와 탄소나노튜브 길이(L)의 역수는 선형관계를 보였다. 또한 위상차는 캔틸레버 팁과 탄소나노튜브 사이의 거리(h)의 제곱에 반비례하였다.
