새우양식장에서 분리한 해양세균 Bacillus sp. CK-10과 Bacillus sp. CK-13에 의한 양식사료에 포함된 질소와 인의 동시제거 (Simultaneous Removal of Nitrogen and Phosphorus Leached from Farming Feed by the Marine Bacteria, Bacillus sp. CK-10 and Bacillus CK-13, Isolated from Shrimp Farming Pond)

  • 고형 양식사료에 포함된 질소와 인의 미생물학적 제거 공정을 알아보기 위하여 벤치규모의 실험을 수행하였다. CK-10과 CK-13 균주가 새우양식장의 물시료로부터 분리되었다. CK-10과 CK-13의 혼합배양에서 N/P의 동시제거 실험을 실시하였다. 그 결과, $400\;{\mu}M\;NH^{+}_4$$NO^{-}_2$는 12시간 이내에 제거되었고, $NO^{-}_3$는 36시간 이내에 각각 제거되었으며, $500\;{\mu}M\;PO^{3-}_4$ 36시간 이내에 제거되었다. CK-10과 CK-13 배양을 새우양식사료에서 용출된 N와 P의 제거에 적용하였다. HPAEC-PAD 시스템을 이용하여 양식사료의 당을 분석하였으며, glucose, galactose, galatosamine, mammonse, fucose 등의 여러 가지 당이 분석되었다. 세균에 의한 질소와 인 제거를 수행하기 위하여 인공 해수에서 $0.2\%$(w/v)의 양식사료를 용출시켰으며, 72 시간동안 용출된 질소의 양은 대략 $33.3\;{\mu}M\;NH^{+}_4,\;12.9\;{\mu}M\;NO^{-}_2.\;81.5\;{\mu}M\;NO^{-}_3,\;248\;{\mu}M\;PO^{-3}_4$였다. 혼합배양은 $0.2\%$ 사료에 포함된 질소와 인을 84시간 이내에 완전히 제거하였으나, 단일배양은 주어진 배양기간동안 질소와 인을 완전제거 하지 못하였다. 이 연구에서 CK-10과 CK-13 배양은 새우양식사료에서 유래하는 질소와 인을 효과적으로 제거하는 것이 입증되었다.

Uptake, Assimilation and Translocation of Ammonium or Nitrate in Italian Ryegrass

  • To investigate the partitioning of newly absorbed N derived from NO$_3$- and NH$_4$$^{+}$, 6 mM $K^{15}$ NO$_3$ or 3 mM ($^{15}$ NH$_4$)$_2$ was fed continuously in Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflrum L.) for 7 days. Nitrogen metabolites (nitrate, amino acid, soluble- and insoluble protein) were analyzed at the end of $^{15}$ N feeding. Dry weight in shoot, stubble and root was not significantly different between NO$_3$$^{[-10]}$ and NH$_4$$^{+}$ feeding. Total nitrogen content in all three organs was significantly higher in NH$_4$$^{+}$ than NO$_3$$^{[-10]}$ feeding. Sum on N content in reduced N fractions (amino acids + proteins) in shoot, stubble and roots in NH$_4$$^{+}$ feeding increased by 13.3, 12.5 and 35.4 %, respectively, compared to NO$_3$$^{[-10]}$ feeding. The Relative Specific Activity (RSA, percentage of newly absorbed $^{15}$ N relative to total N in a sample) values of amino acids and insoluble proteins were significantly higher in NH$_4$$^{+}$ feeding. Total amount of newly absorbed $^{15}$ N in NO$_3$$^{[-10]}$ and NO$_3$$^{[-10]}$ feeding was 52.3 and 69.5 mg/plant on dry matter basis, respectively. In both NH$_4$$^{+}$ and NO$_3$$^{[-10]}$ grown plants, most of the N was allocated to the shoot, 67.5% in NH$_4$$^{+}$ feeding and 58.8% NO$_3$$^{[-10]}$ feeding, respectively. The $^{15}$ N amount incorporated in the reduced N compounds (amino acids and proteins) in NH$_4$$^{+}$ grown plants significantly increased by 74.8% compared to NO$_3$$^{[-10]}$ grown plants. The increase of the $^{15}$ N amount assimilated to amino acids in NH$_4$$^{+}$ grown plants was remarkably higher in roots as more than 7.25 times compared to NO$_3$$^{[-10]}$ feeding. These results indicated that Italian ryegrass was much efficiently utilized NH$_4$$^{+}$-N for the synthesis of reduced N compounds.reduced N compounds.

  • The physical and electrical properties of TiN/TiSiS12T bilayer were studied. The TiN/TiSiS12T bilayer was formed by rapid thermal anneal in NHS13T ambient after the Ti film was deposited on silicon substrate. The Ti film reacts with NHS13T gas to make a TiN layer at the surface and reacts with silicon to make a TiSiS12T layer at the interface respectively. It was found that the formation of TiN/TiSiS12T bilayer depends on RTA temperature. In this experiment, competitive reaction for TiN/TiSiS12T bilayer occured above $600^{\circ}C$. Ti-rich TiNS1xT layer and Ti-rich TiSiS1xT layer and Ti-rich TiSiS1xT layer were formed at $600^{\circ}C$. stable structure TiN layer TiSiS12T layer which has CS149T phase and CS154T phase were formed at $700^{\circ}C$. Both stable TiN layer and CS154T phase TiSiS12T layer were formed at 80$0^{\circ}C$. The thickness of TiN/TiSiS12T bilayer was increased as the thickness of deposited Ti film increased.

상업용 퇴비화를 위한 연속 통기식 파이로트 규모 반응조의 퇴비화 특성 (Composting Characteristics of a Continuous Aerated Pilot-scale Reactor Vessel for Commercial Composting)

  • Hog manure slurry amended with sawdust was composted in pilot-scale reactor vessels using continuous aeration nuder different C/N ratios and pH conditions during composting high rate (decomposition) process. For each material two replicated piles were built and monitored over a period of three weeks. The compost piles had an initial volume of 0.18 ㎥. In this study we evaluated the temperature in compost O2 and CO2 evolution, aeration rate, NH3 concentration etc. and investigated the stability of compost during composting high rate process. According to measured results, while the maximum NH3 concentration during composting high rate process. According to measured results, while the maximum NH3 concentration during composting high rate was in the range of 213 to 412 ppm on 5th day which was near the optimum C/N(22∼24) and pH(7.5∼7.9). And then, the NH3 concentration reduced to between 22∼26 ppm by 13th day. The maximum NH3 concentration for the lower C/N(18∼19) and pH value of 6 reached 574∼1,063 ppm by the 16th through 11th days and the NH3 concentration during continuous aerated composting high rate process, it was more important to manage NH3 gas so that compost odor is reduced.

NH3 분위기에서 후속 열처리에 의한 p형 ZnO 형성 (Formation of N Doped, p-type ZnO Films by Post-annealing in NH3 Ambient)

  • We report the preparation of N doped, p-type ZnO films by post-annealing in $NH_3$ ambient. The properties were examined by XRD, Hall-effect measurement, PL, and SIMS. ZnO films showed better crystallinity and electron concentration of $10^{15}-10^{17}/cm^3$ with post-annealing in $NH_3$ ambient. These films were converted to p-type ZnO by activation thermal annealing process at $800^{\circ}C$ under $N_2$ ambient. The electrical properties of the p-type ZnO showed a hole concentration of $1.06\times10^{16}/cm^3$, a mobility of $15.8cm^2/V{\cdot}s$, and a resistivity of $40.18\Omega{\cdot}cm$. The N doped ZnO films showed a strong photoluminescence peak at 3.306 eV at 13 K, which is closely related to neutral acceptor bound excitons of the p-type ZnO:N. In the SIMS spectra, the incorporation of nitrogen was confirmed.

만경강과 그 인근 시설재배지 지하수의 시기별 수질변화 (Seasonal Variation in Water Quality of Mankyeong River and Groundwater at Controlled Horticulture Region)

  • 1. 만경강 수계 수질변화 만경강 수계의 농업용수의 수질 변화를 조사 분석하기 위해 '94, '95년, '97년도 4월에서 9월까지 13개지점을 대상으로 평가하였다. $NH_4-N$, $SO{_4}^{2-}$, $Cl^-$의 농도는 4월에 가장 높았으며 $NO_3-N$는 8월에 높았다. COD 함량은 고온기인 9월에 높게 나타났다. 만경강 주요지천중 $NH_4-N$$SO{_4}^{2-}$ 이온이 농업용수 기준을 초과하였으며, 만경강 중류(Mk-8), 고산천(Mk-9) 그리고 소양천(Mk-11)을 제외하고는 만경강 주요 지천은 농업용수로서 부적당하였다. 만경강 하류(Mk-2, Mk-3)와 전주천(Mk-12) 그리고 삼천천(Mk-13)은 도시생활하수와 산업 폐수에 의해 오염도가 높았으며, 익산천(Mk-6)은 양돈 오수에 의해 오염도가 증가되었다. 만경강의 이온들의 당량합은 산업폐수와 생활하수가 다량 유입되는 만경강 하류인 유천 갑문(Mk-3)이 가장 높았으며 음이온의 당량은 $SO{_4}^{2-}$, $Cl^-$, $NO{_3}^-$, $PO{_4}^{3-}$ 순으로 많았고 양이온은 $Na^+$, $Ca^{2+}$, $NH{_4}^+$, $Mg^{2+}$, $K^+$ 순이었다. 2. 시설원예지 지하수중 화학성분 변화 만경강유역 인근에 있는 시설원예 주산단지에서 사용하는 지하수 수질을 '94년부티 '98년까지 지하수심, 조사시기 영농형태, 경작연수별로 검토하였다. 채수수심이 깊어질수록 $NH_4-N$, NO-N함량이 낮아졌으며, $SO{_4}^{2-}$$Na^+$는 10~15m 이하에서는 큰 차이가 없었다. 지하수중 $NH_4-N$, $NO_3-N$, $PO{_4}^{3-}$, $SO{_4}^{2-}$, $Na^+$, $Cl^-$ 함량기에 비해 갈수기에 높았다. 시설원예연작에 비해 미나리 윤환재배로 지하수중 $NH_4-N$, $NO_3-N$, $PO{_4}^{3-}$, $Na^+$, $Cl^-$함량이 낮아졌다. 완주군 용진면은 지하수중 $NO_3-N$ 함량이 농업용수 기준을 초과하였고, $SO{_4}^{2-}$ 농도는 완주군 용진면, 완주군 삼례면 지역이 타지역보다 높았고 익산시 석탄 등은 지하수중 $PO{_4}^{3-}$, $Na^+$, $Cl^-$ 함량이 타지역보다 높았다.

Analysis of Free Ammonia Inhibition of Nitrite Oxidizing Bacteria Using a Dissolved Oxygen Respirometer

  • Free ammonia ($NH_3$-N) inhibition of nitrite-oxidizing bacteria (NOB) has been widely studied for partial nitrification (or nitrite accumulation) and denitrification via nitrite ($NO_2^-$-N) as a low-cost treatment of ammonium containing wastewater. The literature on $NH_3$-N inhibition of NOB, however, shows disagreement about the threshold $NH_3$-N concentration and its degree of inhibition. In order to clarify the confusion, a simple and cheap respirometric method was devised to investigate the effect of free ammonia inhibition of NOB. Sludge samples from an autotrophic nitrifying reactor were exposed to various $NH_3$-N concentrations to measure the maximum specific nitrite oxidation rate ($\hat{K}_{NO}$) using a respirometer. NOB biomass was estimated from the yield values in the literature. Free ammonia inhibition of nitrite oxidizing bacteria was reversible and the specific nitrite oxidation rate ($K_{NO}$) decreased from 0.141 to 0.116, 0.100, 0.097 and 0.081 mg $NO_2^-$-N/mg NOB h, respectively, as the $NH_3$-N concentration increased from 0.0 to 1.0, 4.1, 9.7 and 22.9 mg/L. A nonlinear regression based on the noncompetitive inhibition mode gave an estimate of the Inhibition concentration ($K_I$) of free ammonia to be 21.3 mg $NH_3$-N/L. Previous studies gave $\hat{K}_{NO}$ of Nitrobacter and Nitrospira as 0.120 and 0.032 mg/mg VSS h. The free ammonia concentration which inhibits Nitrobacter was $30{\sim}50\;mg$ $NH_3$-N/L and Nitrospira was inhibited at $0.04{\sim}0.08\;mg$ $NH_3$-N/L. The results support the fact that Nitrobacter is the dominant NOB in the reactor. The variations in the reported values of free ammonia inhibition may be due to the different species of nitrite oxidizers present in the reactors. The respirometric method provides rapid and reliable analysis of the behavior and community of the nitrite oxidizing bacteria.

질소공급, 고추의 생육 및 수량에 대한 녹비작물 환원 효과 (Isotope Ratio of Mineral N in Pinus Densiflora Forest Soils in Rural and Industrial Areas: Potential Indicator of Atmospheric N Deposition and Soil N Loss)

  • 질소동위원소비(${\delta}^{15}N$)가 낮은 대기질소 강하물의 유입에 의해 산림 생태계 내 다양한 시료(나이테, 엽, 토양)의 ${\delta}^{15}N$ 값이 낮아지는 것으로 보고되고 있다. 하지만, 토양 미생물과 식물이 쉽게 이용할 수 있는 토양 무기태 질소의 ${\delta}^{15}N$에 대한 연구는 진행된 바 없다. 본 연구는 대기질소 강하물이 상대적으로 적은 농촌지역과 많은 공업지역에 위치한 적송 산림지역의 유기토양층과 무기토양층(0~20 cm와 20~40 cm) 중 $NH_4{^+}$$NO_3{^-}$${\delta}^{15}N$값을 분석하여 두 지역간의 차이를 조사하였으며, 이들 ${\delta}^{15}N$ 값을 근거로 조사 지역의 질소손실 민감성을 평가하였다. 농촌지역과 공업지역에서 $NH_4{^+}$${\delta}^{15}N$ 값은 각각 +8.9 ~ +24.8‰과 +4.4 ~ +13.8‰로 분포하였다.유기토양층과 무기토양층(0~20 cm)에서 두 지역간 $NH_4{^+}$${\delta}^{15}N$값 차이가 나타났는데, 공업지역에서 각각4.4‰과 +13.8‰이었고, 농촌지역에서는 각각 +8.9‰과 +24.3‰로 공업지역에서 더 낮은 ${\delta}^{15}N$ 값이 나타났다.이는 공업지역에서 ${\delta}^{15}N$값이 낮은 대기 유래 $NH_4{^+}$ 유입량이 더 많았음을 의미한다. 한편, $NO_3{^-}$${\delta}^{15}N$ 값은 지역간 차이가 없었는데, 이는 $NO_3{^-}$가 용탈과 탈질 등에 의해 쉽게 손실되는 과정에서 수반되는 질소동위원소 분할 효과에 의해 강하물에서 유래된 $NO_3{^-}$${\delta}^{15}N$ 기여도가 낮아지기 때문으로 판단된다. 본 연구에서 관측된 무기태 질소의 ${\delta}^{15}N$ 값은 다른 지역에서 조사된 $NH_4{^+}$(-10.9 ~ +15.6‰)과 $NO_3{^-}$(14.8 ~ +5.6‰)의 ${\delta}^{15}N$ 값보다 매우 높은데, 이는 본 연구지역에서 토양 질소 손실 가능성이 높음을 보여준다. 이상의 연구 결과에 의하면 산림토양의 무기태 질소 중 $NO_3{^-}$보다 $NH_4{^+}$이 질소공급원(대기 질소 강하)에 대한 ${\delta}^{15}N$ 정보를 보다 잘 반영하는 것으로 판단된다.

Atmosphere-forest Exchange of Ammoniacal Nitrogen in a Subalpine Deciduous Forest in Central Japan during a Summer Week

  • The present study aimed to investigate the diurnal variations in air concentrations and exchange fluxes of ammoniacal nitrogen ($NH_x$: ammonia ($NH_3$) and particulate ammonium) in a subalpine deciduous forest in central Japan during a week in summer. The $NH_3$ concentrations ($0.50\;{\mu}g\;N\;m^{-3}$ on average) showed a clear circadian variation, i.e., high and low in the daytime and nighttime, respectively. The concentration of particulate ammonium in the coarse fractions was extremely low, whereas that for the PM2.5 fraction was relatively high $0.55\;{\mu}g\;N\;m^{-3}$ on average). The main inorganic ion components of PM2.5 at the study site were ammonium and sulfate. The exchange fluxes of $NH_x$ were bidirectional. Both the maximum and minimum values occurred in the daytime, i.e., $0.39\;mg\;N\;m^{-2}\;hr^{-1}$ of downward flux and $0.11\;mg\;N\;m^{-2}\;hr^{-1}$ of upward flux for $NH_3$ and $0.25\;mg\;N\;m^{-2}\;hr^{-1}$ of downward flux and $0.13\;mg\;N\;m^{-2}\;hr^{-1}$ of upward flux for PM2.5 ammonium. The exchange fluxes of $NH_x$ at night could be considered as zero. The mean deposition velocity during the research period was almost zero for both $NH_3$ and PM2.5 ammonium. The atmosphere-forest exchange of $NH_x$ in the forest during the study period was balanced. The remarkably large deposition of $NH_x$ was attributable to meteorological events such as showers the night before that thoroughly washed the forest canopy and subsequent clear skies in the morning, which enhanced convection. The cleaning effect of rainfall and the rapid change in convection in the early morning should be monitored to evaluate and generalize the gas and particle exchange in a forest.

메탄올주입에 의한 Bardenpho공법에서의 고농도 암모니아성 질소 제거에 관한 실험적 연구 (The experimental study for high ammonia nitrogen removal using Bardenpho process with Methanol addition)

  • Aerobic night-soil treatment effluent containing high concentration of ammonia nitrogen was treated to remove nitrogen using Bardenpho process with Methanol addition. The objective of this study was to investigate the feasibility of complete nitrogen removal at three different HRTs such as 6.25d, 5d, and 3.75d, respectively. At each HRT, the nitrogen removal efficiencies are 92%, 99% and 97% and the required amount of methanol are 3.05gMeOH/gN, 2.75gMeOH/gN, and 3.38gMeOH/gN, respectively. Specific nitrification rates are decreased proportional to HRT and are $0.022gNH_4^+-N/g\;MLVSS{\cdot}day$, $0.0332gNH_4^+-N/g\;MLVSS{\cdot}day$ and $0.051gNH_4^+-N/g\;MLVSS{\cdot}day$ and specific denitification rate are decreased proportional to HRT and are $0.0210g\;N/gMLVSS{\cdot}day$, $0.0330g\;N/gMLVSS{\cdot}day$ and $0.0525g\;N/gMLVSS{\cdot}day$, respectively.
