최근 생성형 언어 모델이 주목받고 있으며, 이와 관련된 과제 또한 주목받고 있다. 언어 생성과 관련하여 많은 연구가 진행된 분야 중 하나가 '번역'이다. 번역과 관련하여, 최근 인공신경망 기반의 신경망 기계 번역(NMT)가 주로 연구되고 있으며, 뛰어난 성능을 보여주고 있다. 하지만 교착어인 한국어에서 언어유형학 상의 다른 분류에 속한 언어로 번역은 매끄럽게 번역되지 않는다는 한계가 여전하다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 극복하기 위해 한-영 사전을 통한 번역 품질 향상 방법을 제안한다. 또한 출력과 관련하여 소형 언어모델(sLLM)을 통해 CoT데이터셋을 구축하고 이를 기반으로 조정 학습하여 성능을 평가할 것이다.

This paper explores the concept of pure language introduced in Walter Benjamin's "The Task of the Translator" and looks at various perspectives on this concept represented in theories of Paul De Man and Gilles Deleuze and a short story of Jorge Luis Borges. According to "The Task of the Translator," pure language is defined as a vessel of which fragments are the original and the translation. Just as fragments are part of a vessel, so the original and the translation are fragments of a greater language, which is pure language. On the other hand, De Man, from a deconstructive criticism, says that pure language does not exist except as a permanent disjunction, which inhabits all languages as such, and that any work is totally fragmented in relation to this pure language and every translation is totally fragmented in relation to the original. While De Man consider pure language incorporeal, Deleuzian interpretation regards it as a virtual object or differenciator in relation to which the two series of the original and the translation coexist and resonate. Finally in Borges's "Pierre Menard, Author of the Quixote" Menard attempt to translate Cervantes's Don Quixote identically in every detail. By showing a case in which the original and the translation are the same, Borges raises a question what would take place in relation to pure language if the original and the translation were identical. In Deleuze, identity and resemblance are the result of a differenciator, but in Borges, identity is a differenciator which produces differences. If we apply this logic to the last paragraph of "The Task of the Translator," we can say the interlinear version of Scriptures, as the prototype or ideal of all translation, in the form of which the original and the translation must be one, is a differenciator, an endless difference-making machine.

This paper explored contrasting responses of the press and the academic circle to The Vegetarian, the 2016 Man Booker International Prize winner, and delved into the controversy over its faithfulness to Han Kang's Ch'aesikjuuija. In the comparison of Han Kang's Ch'aesikjuuija and Deborah Smith's The Vegetarian, many mistranslation cases have been found in The Vegetarian. This paper is meaningful in that it did not stop at discussing translation errors in The Vegetarian but probed the cause of Smith's mistranslation and that it identified The Vegetarian as an English localization text, instead of a translation text. This paper concludes with a discussion of the achievements of The Vegetarian as Smith's rewriting of Ch'aesikjuuija and makes suggestions as to what translators and the academic world can do for the reader and the English translation of Korean literature in the future.

최근 대동물임상분야에서도 소의 번식장애뿐만 아니라 첨단번식기술에 대한 연구가 지속적으로 이뤄져오고 있으며, 관련분야에 종사하는 임상가, 연구자들에게도 수정란이식, 체세포복제수정란이식분야 등에 대한 연구가 시급하게 요구되고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 필자는 대동물임상가들과 관련연구자에게 도움이 되었으면 하는 바램을 피력하면서 지난 수의사회지 8월호에 이어<일본 북해도 삿뽀로시 에베츠에 소재하는 낙농학원대학(酪農學園大學:Rakuno Gakuen University)에서 지난 5월 26일(토) 오전 8시 50분부터 오후 6시까지 대동물임상수의사들을 대상으로 한 교육세미나>에서 발표된 자료중 소개를 하지 않은 부분을 다시금 시간의 여유를 내어 번역을 하여 소개하고자 한다. 지난 8월호에 이어 필자가 일본어로 된 자료를 번역하는 과정에서 우리말로 표현하는데 무리가 있는 부분은 알기쉽게 평이하게 정리하였음을 서두에 밝혀 둔다. 또한 우리 임상수의사들도 최근 관심이 증대되고 있는 수정란이식과 체세포복제수정란 등에 대한 전문지식과 연구정보를 입수, 습득하여 나가지 않으면 아니된다 하겠다.

'Paulownia tree', one of a tree species which has been with human civilization, has been widely used as a garden plant. The purpose of this study is to investigate concrete species of 'paulownia tree,' which had been planted in Korean traditional garden, the position of plantation, and consider its usefulness therefrom. The results of the study can be summarized as follows. 1. As the result of considering old literatures as encyclopedia, agricultural book (農書), gardening book, etc., there's a difference in the description of 'paulownia tree' depending on the complier, as well, the classification of concrete species is quite ambiguous. Therefore, it judged a limit which is planted based on point of the compass is not apply to species of tress of paulownia tree. Merely, the point of suitability and evasion(宜忌) related to the plantation of 'paulownia tree' could be identified in "Jeungbosanrimgyeongje(增補山林經濟) and "Imwongyeongjeji(林園經濟志)", not "Sanrimgyeongje (山林經濟)". 2. It could be confirmed again through poetry and prose which describe old garden that the words such as 'O(梧)', 'Dong(桐)', 'Odong(梧桐)', etc. were used without significant division. However, it is supposed that the species 'Odong' which was actually adopted at the garden might be Catalpa as well including Korean Paulownia and Chinese parasol tree. 3. It is considered that the reference point of suitability and evasion(宜忌) regarding 'paulownia tree' plantation was not generally applied. That is, species of paulownia tree was not divided for planting according to direction, as well, they seemed to willingly plant paulownia trees nearby the house as well, e.g. front yard or nearby yard, etc. 4. The usefulness of paulownia tree as a garden plant of an old garden played a role of 'the messenger of fall,' emphasizing a sense of the season. 5. Paulownia tree has another usefulness as a tree which adds an Ephemeral landscape. Therefore, the ancient people considered 'paulownia tree' that goes with 'the moon' the best, and enjoyed the quaint beauty of those two are juxtaposed. Also, 'paulownia tree' was utilized as a tree which adds an atmosphere of a rainy day, such as enjoying the sound of rain dropping on the 'paulownia tree', etc. The limitation of this study is that the research was performed being restricted to the translation among lots of Chinese references. Later-on task of research is the necessity of a more in-depth study through the discover of new historical sources and the accumulation of translation outcome.
