As extremes of climate such as heavy storms, rainfalls, and droughts tend to be routine in recent years, global climate change becomes a serious concern not only for natural scientists but also for scholars of the human sciences. Efforts to tackle the anthropogenic climate change certainly require not only scientific knowledge about it but also a new sociocultural paradigm for valorizing and respecting nature in its own right. The huge casualties and mass destruction caused by recent climate disasters also remind us that nature has been an important factor to bring about changes in human history-a fact largely ignored in traditional history. This again validates the ecocritical request to prioritize place, physical setting, or the relationship characters hold with the natural world in understanding literary works. In this context this paper aims to demonstrate the importance of the meteorological vision in creating as well as understanding literary and cultural texts by examining such works as Shelley's "The Cloud," Byron's "Darkness," Keats's "To Autumn," all produced during the period of dramatic climate change including "the year without summer." It also briefly discusses Roland Emmerich's 2004 movie The Day after Tomorrow as a way of understanding recent cultural responses to the crisis of global warming.

The Brazilian Federal Housing Program "Minha Casa Minha Vida" -PMCMV (My House My Life) is part of a large housing policy to eradicate the housing deficit, estimated at around five million homes in the country. The Ministry for Cities created a network of independent research organizations to evaluate the program, and the PMCMV has attracted many studies. Despite the inherent worth of these individual studies, there is a need for a holistic evaluation. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) is seen as an important contribution to focus research efforts on the problems identified, to avoid the repetition of studies and to provide novel insights. This article carried out a SLR to map and quantify the types of research and represent a graphic panorama of published studies. Gap spotting was part of the study. In the five-year period from 2010-2014, the SLR identified 1489 bibliographic items. The panorama is categorised according to types of publications, and the analysis of items shows that most studies are concentrated on housing policies, financial questions, urban impacts and Brazilian social development. The results of this SLR raise some new research questions and show opportunities to reduce errors in the housing projects themselves.

Visual narrative or storytelling involve two important aspects of the cognitive perception: the conscious and subconscious. Color is one of the cognitive storytelling elements, its interpretation is captured by the subconscious and it is considered an emotional resource due to its psychological background. On the other hand, the character is also part of cognitive perception and storytelling tool, but this is interpreted consciously, character is considered as a logical resource. Ghibli and Disney have organized their cinematographic techniques in different ways, so it would be unfair to say that one narrative style is better than the other, it depends of perception of beauty which varies according to society. However the present study seeks to determine the differences between Ghibli and Disney narrative style, taking as reference color. Ghibli and Disney are perfect example about color effects as a storytelling agent, It can be classified in two aspects: dynamics of color and color as a narrative sequence. The dynamics of color analyzes how color acts and is perceived into a stage, its meaning and symbolism regardless of the character's actions. The narrative sequence studies how color thermologic evolves in scene's development.

Recently Amore pacific rack-type warehouse fire broke out and argue an urgent improvement of fire protection design code including automatic sprinkler and detection design. Various type of commodities have their unique fire characteristics from fire spread rate and heat lease rate and fire hazard depends on storage height, rack arrangement, aisle width, fire load etc. With increasing ceiling height for more storage space prevent effective water spray of sprinkler head, also delays detection time causes failure of early suppression. To achieve fire protection code performance of this occupancy, Major code articles relating to a classification of commodity, sprinkler system installation, detection and fire fighting are reviewed and suggested based on fire case analysis, code review between country and field survey.

Plant succession and subsequent changes of soil properties were studied in sand bars at the Nagdong River estuary in Korea. By old maps, ages of sand bars such as Namusitdeung, Galmaegideung, Baeghapdeung and Ogryudeung were estimated about 10, 15, 25 and 60 years old, respectively. The dominance-diversity curves and plant species diversity indices among the sand bars showed increasing trend of stability from Galmaegideung toward Ogryudeung. The soil acidity, contents of organic matter and total nitrogen of soil increased significantly from Galmaegideung toward Ogryudeung. The order of successional degree among the sand bars on the basis of the number of plant species, the results of vegetation analysis and changes of soil properties almost coincide with the order of age among the sand bars. However, the order of successional degree between Namusitdeung and Galmaegideung was more or less obscured because of cyclic succession driven by allogenic processes.

As Korea's representative medical text, "Donguibogam" reveals Korean Medicine's unique perspective on the human body. The text also contains abundant resources related to skin, leading to diverse researches on the subject today. In this paper, authors tried to elicit values of "Donguibogam" in the general cosmetics field, through literature review. First, prescriptions related to main functions of modern cosmetics (anti-aging, whitening, and moisturizing) were classified. In relation to anti-aging, concepts such as 返老 (reversing aging), 還童 (to become young again), 皺 (wrinkle), and 皮急 (tense skin) were extracted and 69 examples of treatments were introduced. For whitening care, 41 treatments were mentioned on hyper-pigmentation and general complexion. Concepts related to moisturizing included expressions such as 潤肌膚 (hydration of skin) and 光澤 (glow), induced by 48 treatment prescriptions. Second, cosmetics related prescriptions were classified according to the application methods of modern cosmetics. 78 prescriptions of cleansing category included washing-off local area with herbal liquid, bathing, washing-off after steaming, and soaking the body in the herbal liquid. Total of 308 topical application prescriptions covered the conditions of various skin inflammations, scalp illnesses, and etc. In conclusion, this research examines the value of "Donguibogam" as a useful of skincare. Further studies are expected to extend our understanding of the field.

This study evaluated the effects of high pressured red ginseng(HRG) and ginseng berry(GB) supplementation on lipid profiles and run to exercise time in SD rats. Five weeks-old male rats were randomly assigned into six groups, ie. control group(AC: n = 8), exercise group(AE: n = 7), general extracted red ginseng group(C: n = 8), HRG group(high density D: n = 8, low density E: n = 7), and HRG + GB group(F: n = 7). The AC and AE groups had a supplementation of AIN-93G, and AE group performed 40 min treadmill exercise five times per week for five weeks. E, C, D, and F groups had a supplementation composed of general extracted red ginseng(GRG), HRG(250 mpk and 500 mpk), and HRG(250 mpk) + GB(167 mpk) in the AIN-93G. Main results of the study were as follow 1) the duration of running time to exhaustion was higher in exercise group compared to other groups. HRG had no effect on run to exhaustion time, but, GRG and HRG + GB showed longer run time than control groups. 2) Blood TC, TG, HDL-C and liver TG showed no difference between groups, but, liver TC showed lower level in the HRG groups than other groups. It was concluded that the 5 weeks of supplementation of HRG extract would have positive effects on liver cholesterol, and GRG and HRG + GB have a positive effect on exercise performance tested run to exhaustion time, but, we can not find a positive effect of supplementation of HRG on exercise performance.
