Abstract
This study aims to investigate the effects of such leisure activities as dance sports on the elderly's perception of emotional health. For this aim, a survey was conducted to a population of males and females aged over 60 who have been practicing dance sports for leisure. From the analysis into a total of 113 questionnaires collected, it was found that females have a little higher level of vitality, melancholia and anxiety than males in general. The group with living spouse turned to have higher level of vitality than the group without. By age, the group aged 60-64 showed the most positive recognition about vital power. It was also found that anxiety increases when average personal expense is low. By education, the level of melancholia gets higher when school career is lower. In short, the longer and more active the elderly participates in dance sports, the more effective it may act for emotional health.
