Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the consistency of release movement individually and was to provide the data to promote archer's performance. Three male archers in H university with carrier over ten years were participated as subjects for this study. Variables were selected to analyze a consistency during the release. The release movement was divided into three phases: clicker phase, finger phase and bow phase for a reaction time of clicker sound, a position of extending finger which pull string, a movement of bow during the bow phase and initial velocity of arrow. Kinematic data were obtained for a total fifteen shots by two digital video cameras filmed at 1,000Hz. The conclusions were as follow: 1. The reaction time of clicker sound for expert archers was different into the individual performance. The reaction time of a subject who had best record was very fast about 136 msec. 2. According as archers did not move the draw ann's hand except for a last joint of the finger when archers extended the finger which held of string in finger phase, they had the high scoring. 3. Regularity of the final phase of the shot is important with regard to as archer's skill. Two kind of movement may affect this regularity: the oscillation of bow, which can reduced by the release consistency, and initial velocity of the arrow which can have similarity by the adjustment of the release force.
