Abstract
Recently the CAD/CAM solution of fabricating removable partial denture (RPD) by applying haptic input device, with which operator can feel 3D object by tactile sensation, electronic surveying, and rapid prototyping was introduced. The purpose of this study is to analyze the reproducibility of digital solution by comparing gaps of planned CAD design and those of completed digital RPD which is actually put in the mouth. Gaps between RPD framework and abutment tooth was taken by replica technique and measured by stereoscopic microscope. The space between virtual RPD framework design and scanned model was also measured by image analysis tool and the two data were compared and analyzed. The average replica gap was $271{\mu}m$ and that of CAD gap was $166{\mu}m$. Digital RPD equipped with the suitable accuracy for the clinical application.
