Abstract
Due to the prolonged COVID-19 outbreak, many educations are shifting from offline to online, and as the importance of e-learning is rapidly increasing, the shortcomings of e-learning are also being highlighted. This paper designs and implements a prototype of an educational platform that can improve the interaction that is most lacking in e-learning. The proposed Time-Slip Learning Platform (TSLP) introduces devices that are used for interaction between teachers and learners. The video content created in the past is linked to the current learner's device to help them immerse themselves in learning. Application service providers that produce and sell educational devices can use the contents of existing video platforms such as YouTube as they are, and only need to register the metadata that defines how the device interacts with the URL of the video on the platform. When the learner watches the video, the learning device operates according to the content of the video, and the video is controlled according to the learner's device operation status or result. In this paper, we develop a smart guitar and a smart scale to verify the immersive online learning feature through the proposed platform, and demonstrate it by registering it as application services of the platform along with related YouTube contents. Through the proposed platform, we show that interactive education that increases immersion in online learning is possible even in a non-face-to-face society.
