Abstract
Because of increasing tendency of domestic sightseeing demand and the cause of natural hazards such as rockfall, the stone monuments (which are scattered to natural inside) and the tourist or Buddhists are confronting dangerous natural hazards. In this study, we analysed quantitatively the potentially hazardous rockfall. 'Seated Seokgayeorae Image' carved on granite surface which is located at Mt. Nam Gyeong-ju cannot be accessed and it is not possible to analyze the rockfall. But we used numerical analysis and stereonet analysis for determining the potential rockfalls and the rockfall paths. The analysis results were similar with the result of site investigation. If rockfall is assumed to occur, striking energy of the rockfall which will potentially increase the damage in culture property and life is generated in the center of the altar and the head of the statue. For rockfall simulation, ‘Rocfall’ by Rocscience was used. The software is efficient used for saving the time for back calculation and adjusting the properties for simulation to real phenomenon at the study area.
