THE RESIDUAL FINITENESS OF CERTAIN HNN EXTENSIONS

Abstract
In this note we give characterizations for certain HNN extensions with central associated subgroups to be residually finite. We then apply our results to HNN extensions of polycyclic-by-finite groups.
