Abstract
Nowadays Eco-friendly design is recognized as one of the most important architectural planning method. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has a long term plan for energy efficiency improvements in order to strengthen the residential and housing design as a national policy. The thermal performance will act as major factor to enhance the efficiency of buildings. Simultaneously the utilization of solar power is more important than anything else. This study is to find the good positions to install PV on the existing apartment complex. To find the acquisite place to install PV, Sanalyst 4.0 and PVsyst 6.38 program were used for this study. Electric power generation was decided by the condition on azimuth angle of building and gradient angle of PV. Finally it was revealed that when we use the roof and staircase roof efficiently over 30%, 50% of total area of roof, almost 13% to 22% of electricity can be produced. Also parapet and canopy can be a good place to install PV.
