Abstract
The demand of quality record traceability management increases from various industries in resent years. However, the studies related to traceability management system is lacking in the construction industry. This paper presents a quality record traceability system (QRT) for construction operation which keeps track of the historical quality records to guarantee the quality of construction facilities. An anatomical chart for building was established and used to identify atomic object (e.g., column, beam, wall, etc). In addition, hierarchical breakdown structure was applied to define data collection level. Web-based QRT enables users to access the historical quality records obtained during construction phase. To verify the applicability of the system, a residential house project was used for the case study. Finally, the traceability of the system at the construction operation level is ensured by finding the resources who are responsible for the quality of each and every element of the facility.
