Abstract

Purpose: The purpose is to analyze Korea's elementary school AI ethics curriculum and lesson plans and explore the direction in which AI ethics education should move forward. Research design, data and methodology: The characteristics of the curriculum and instructional guide developed by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education and the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education were analyzed. Results: The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education has developed its own artificial intelligence ethics education model and content system and is operating it based on this. Although the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education does not have a separate education model, it has developed and is operating a specific class instruction plan. What the two places have in common is that they are operated in conjunction with artificial intelligence technology experience and understanding, as well as ethics, based on artificial intelligence ethical standards. Conclusions: Artificial intelligence can demonstrate capabilities similar to those of humans or can show superior performance in some areas. However, if such convenience and excellence are not properly designed and controlled at the elementary school level, it may lead to unintended consequences. Therefore, when developing and utilizing artificial intelligence, opportunities for students to think should be provided through ethics education.
