Abstract

This paper introduces a novel multi-output converter featuring a partial-feeding power factor correction (PFC) inductor circuit. The proposed circuit comprises a multi-winding PFC inductor and a voltage doubler rectifier. One of the outputs (output1) is regulated by the pulse frequency modulation of the LLC resonant converter which applies the ordinary control method. While the other output (output2) is controlled by the pulse width modulation of the buck converter, which is connected to the partial-feeding PFC inductor circuit. The buck converter, which is structured as a stacked combination of output2 and the buck converter's output, efficiently manages a small power fraction to regulate output2. Despite accommodating universal input voltage, the partial-feeding PFC inductor circuit restricts the fluctuation of the input voltage range for the buck converter due to the presence of a voltage doubler rectifier. Moreover, the adoption of the partial-feeding inductor circuit in the PFC replaces one of the DC-DC converters and leads to a reduction in the power stage. As a result, the proposed multioutput converter achieves a tight regulation of multiple outputs, thus ensuring high efficiency and power density.
