Abstract

The Korean Meteorological Society had published the 'Journal of the Korean Meteorological Society' as an academic journal representing the society, and has been currently publishing 'Asia-Pacific Journal of Atmospheric Sciences (APJAS)' and 'Atmosphere'. The Journal of the Korean Meteorological Society was published for 1963~2007 since the society was established, and has been renamed to APJAS since 2008 as a manner to make an international leap forward. The 'Atmosphere' was first published in 1991 and has been using the same name to date. In the early years of publication, it served as a newsletter to announce the activities of society members, but it is now publishing valuable research articles. As part of the 60th anniversary celebration of the society, this paper has summarized the footsteps of several academic journals published in the past and still publishing, and proposed future development plans.

한국기상학회에서는 학회를 대표하는 대기과학 전문 학술지로서 '한국기상학회지'를 발간하였고, 현재 'Asia-Pacific Journal of Atmospheric Sciences (APJAS)'와 '대기지'를 발간하고 있다. 한국기상학회지는 학회가 창립된 1963년부터 2007년까지 발간되었으며, 우리 학회가 국제적으로 도약하기 위한 방안으로 2008년부터 A PJA S로 이름을 변경해서 발간되고 있다. 대기지는 1991년에 처음 발간되어 현재까지 동일한 이름을 사용하고 있다. 대기지는 발간 초기에는 회원들의 활동을 알리는 소식지 역할을 하기도 했지만, 현재에는 전문 학술지로서 우수한 연구결과를 정리해서 출판하고 있다. 이 논문에서는 한국기상학회 창립 60년 기념 행사의 일환으로 과거에 발간된 그리고 현재에도 발간되고 있는 학술지의 발자취를 정리하고, 미래 발전 방안을 제안한다.
